N96 problems sending messages; phone attempts to r...

Hi there
I have read most relevant topics on here bu haven't managed to find a solution.
Around 3 days ago my phone just started having porblems sending messages.. it moves the message to the outbox and the little sending msg icon appears on the top right hand side as normal. It says "sending" as normal, but 9x out of 10 the error message "resend at so n so time" appears.
Some friends have said they receive the message, but receive it around 3 or 4 times.. i'm guessing this is when ive left the phone after pressing send and the phone goes into "resend mode".
Ok things I've done:
My sim works fine in another handset ( samsung one), no problems sending msgs
another o2 sim works fine in my handset :/
the msg centre number is fine, i've done the whole cleaning the sim/phone as recommended on o2's website..
i've refreshed my connection to the network too.
So what else could it be?
Thanks in advance

I've restored to factory settings and reapplied my back up, everything seems to have restored except my messages, bookmarks havent either..  :s
I've even tried reapplying the bacup but just selecting messages...

        Hello llm007!
That is quite a strange issue. What make & model phone do you have? When did this begin? Are you able to make & receive calls? You can troubleshoot this issue http://vz.to/12TLCsR on our website to get things working as quickly as possible.

  • Problem sending messages

Hi, I have just started nit being able to send messages. It says they are queueing?
In my data section it looks like the messaging app is full? How do I correct this please
    Thanks.

It could be a network coverage issue.

  • Problem Sending messages on some sites.

Hi, I have the 64GB playbook and it worked fantastic for 2months I have had no problems with it at all until this past week when the software updated.
Now on some sites and msn messenger when I type out my message and press the enter key to send the message it does not send, instead it drops me down to the next line like enter does on here.
The rest of the websites work fine, just the 1 problem with the enter key but it is a major nuisance and renders the whole websites useless if I cannot send messages.
Please does anybody know anything I can do? It worked fine before the recent update when i pressed enter it sent the messages.

    I see the same problem:

  • HTTP Adapter - Problem sending message to XI.

    Hi,
We have configured a scenario in IR and ID for the HTTP -> XI -> RFC message flow. We have created all the configuration objects (Receiver determination, receiver agreement, interface determination) in ID except the Sender Agreement (There is no Sender HTTP Adapter). So to trigger this interface we are sending the message to the following URL using a client HTML page.
    http://IPAddr:8000/sap/xi/adapter_plain?namespace=http://sap.com/xi/XI/TestPOC/r3&interface=MI_File_RFC_WeyPOC&service=SourceBS_XI&QOS=BE&sap-user=J2EE_GUEST&sap-password=JGUEST&sap-client=001&sap-language=EN
After submitting the contents in HTML page, it is asking us SAP Web Application Server user id and password. Which user id shall we give here. We have tried giving the J2EE_ADMINISTRATOR user id and it's password but it gives "the requested resource does not exist" error messgage.
How to resolve this problem ?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Lalit.

    Hi Lalit,
try the xiappluser or a copy of it, like Sudhir said.
    But there is something else...
You must code special characters such as forward slash (/), hyphen , period (.), or colon ( with escape characters (for example, %2F for /, %2D for -, %2E for .,and %3A for :).

  • N96 problem (with messages)

i just revieved a msg, i read it and replied.
then i went back to re read it and its been deleted, a, along with over 100 of my revieced msgs, and all of my sent msgs! i dont know what the helll happened, i never changed any of my settings.
can any one shed some light on this?
    thanks

Actually I've posted about this problem before:
    /discussions/board/message?board.id=smartphones&message.id=112613#M112613
It happened both with v10 and v11 (V12 isn't available for my phone yet)
However It havent happened yet since I went to a service store and they formatted the phonememory and reinstalled v11.
It happened twice before that deleting everything exept delivery reports. I save my messafes on the mass memory. (the few messages on the phone memory wasn't deleted though. It seems it only affects the active message file when it happens.
It happened if my whone crashed while writing a message.
I'll post again if it happens again

  • Mavericks Messages problem sending message: "not registered with iMessage"

I'm on MacBook Air(MBA) and recently installed Mavericks. I try sending a message from MBA MESSAGES to a person's cell phone number (they have an android phone). Their name appears in red and I get: "...is not registered with iMessage." So I was trying to read discussions in here and allot of them say Messages won't work unless a person has an Apple device- iphone, Mac, etc. I want to know if that is true or if there is any other way to send from the MBA a message to them? I also tried from Messages on MBA to their gmail address, which they use on their android cell phone, and get same error.
Is there anyway a non-apple person can "register with iMessage" if they have an android phone?
I know I can email them, but I wanted a fast way for emergency purposes to get a MESSAGE to them from my MBA. Sometimes they can't talk on phone at some times, but are allowed to get instant message for emergency where they work.

    Hi,
You have to have otr get an AIM or AIM valid name.
AIM stands for Aol Instant Messenger.
Apple IDs issued by Apple (Those ending in @mac.com or iCloud issued @me.com and @icloud.com) are valid as AIM Screen Names if the password is kept to 16 characters or less. (this is an AIM server limit)
Apple made an Agreement with AOL over the use of names over 10 years ago.
The Original .Mac ID (@mac.com) could be paid for  or could be Trial Accounts.
Trial Accounts continued to work after the trial ran out. (i.e. the email stopped but the AIM Screen Name didn't).
The same was true of lapsed accounts.
When MobileMe started people could link, email-wise, their paid for .Mac accounts to the paid for MobileMe (@me.com) accounts.
Any @mac.com still works over the AIM service.
Now also @Me.com names worked - meaning some people had two valid AIM names - they are not liked for use with AIM just that the passwords will be the same.
With the end of MobileMe all those @me.com account died as far as AIM is concerned.
However you could link it to iCloud which effectively moved it to the iCloud server.
(i.e. they are iCloud issued @me.com ID instead of MobileMe ones)
Then Apple started to issue @icloud.com IDs
This could mean that some people have three working IDs for use with AIM (but all linked to one email Account at Apple).
    NOTES
From Lion onwards (iChat 6 and Above) Apple have had the app also login in to Apple before it will allow the AIM Servers to "read" the password.
This applies to any iCloud issued ID - the "newer" iCloud linked @Me.com and @iCloud.com IDs
This means you cannot use those IDs in iChat 5 or earlier as those version only do an one point login only.
With the coming of iCloud other Apple IDs could be linked to iCloud which may have given you either @me.com and later an @iCloud.com ID as well or just an @icloud one if you were later to the party as it were.
Whilst in some cases this does give you two valid AIM Screen Name the originating Apple ID does not become one.

  • Problem sending message, temporary size limit of server

I get this message when I try to send mail with attachments of less than 365 KB. "The size of the message you are trying to send exceeds a temporary size limit of the server. The message was not sent; try to reduce the message size or wait some time and try again. The server responded: 4.1.1...temporary failure." This just started happening. I've e-mailed files with much larger attachments and never had an issue. I tried e-mailing smaller attachments with the same results. I also tried waiting until the next business day hoping that the issue would resolve itself to no avail.
    Please Help!
    Kim

The error message is coming from your email providers server. What do they say when you ask them what is wrong with their equipment?

  • BTYahoo! Email IMAP - Problem saving messages in S...

I have been using BTYahoo! email with IMAP for several years now. One problem that I never used to have has become more and more regular over the last six months or so. It is now at the point where I get this problem 95% of the time when sending messages.
When I send a message it seems to get sent ok, but there is then a problem with saving a copy in the Sent folder. Almost every time it will trigger an alert in my e-mail client (currently Thunderbird) saying that the message could not be saved in the Sent folder. This alert appears after a short time-out limit is reached. At this point clicking the option to retry usually works, but sometimes it will just fail repeatedly and I have to cancel the attempt to save a copy.
I have tried a different e-mail client program but got a similar error alert about not being able to save a copy in the Sent folder. To me that implies it is a problem with either my BTYahoo! email client settings or the server-side system.
I'm using the same IMAP settings that I had used without issue for a long time.
    imap.mail.yahoo.com  -  port 993  -  SSL/TLS (normal password)
    smtp.mail.yahoo.com  -  port 465  -  SSL/TLS (normal password)
I have tried changing the outgoing server to that below but it doesn't solve the problem.
    mail.btinternet.com  -  port 465  -  SSL/TLS (normal password)
    My questions are:-
Has anybody else experienced a similar problem?
Is anybody aware of any recent IMAP settings change that I need to apply to solve this?

    Hi Keith,
The problem started for me something like six months ago. Originally it was a rare occurrence so clicking retry once every now and then wasn't a big deal, but as I mentioned I now get the time-out virtually every time I send a message. I appreciate the message is successfully sent first, but I can't just ignore it as I need to have a copy retained in my Sent folder for my records.
Possibly the BTYahoo! servers that handle that function are much slower to respond now? I'll see if I can increase the time-out limit in Thunderbird. There is no time-out problem sending messages, just when saving the copy.
Once in a blue moon I don't get the error message but there is still no copy saved in the Sent folder. That is very annoying when it happens. Luckily that is still a very rare occurrence currently.
I'm really trying to establish whether this is a problem caused by my PC set up, or whether it's a problem with BTYahoo! email and there is nothing I can do at my end to fix it.

  • "Error sending message" - I really need help

Hello. I have not been an iPhone user for too long, so thereas i do not know much about it. I do have an iPhone however, and everything worked just perfect up to 1 week ago. Here is what happened:
I tried to send a text message (SMS) to one of my friends, and first it said "error sending message" but then it was sent afterall, so i didnt bother. 1 day after, I could not send SMS to ANYONE else, not even an unknown number, nothing. it said "error sending message" EVERY time. What happened:
    *tried to send SMS
    *got the error
    *lost ALL my signal
    *NO SIGNAL message
    *NO SIM message
    *FULL signal back
    *Carrier found again
The point is, that when i try sending a message, it comes up to 3/4 or so, and then shows the error and so on. it won't send ANY messages anymore
    I CAN receive messages
    I CAN make phone calls
I CAN send SMS from another phone
So my figure is, that the problem is the phone its self, not the SIM card. Is it making a contact??
I did a little research, and found out this:
*Many, many 1.1.2 iPhones have this issue.
*If you experience it, you may find a solution, but it's so that they do not all work on all phones (which is surprising to be honest)
*However, stunningly is that everybody are able to receive messages
    What happens:
*in most cases, it happens like this:
    -try to send a message
    - it comes to 3/4, then stops and says "error sending message"
    -phone looses signal
-phone tells you there is NO SIGNAL
-5sec later phone has FULL signal
-this is sometimes followed by a "Locked SIM" sign
    what i have experienced now:
*i found out that sometimes, for some reason the message sending "comes back" tho it doesnt stay long.
*if you try to send a message, and it errors you, you hit home.. if you then go back to messages you can see the unsent one, but if you look at the number its in a format (ex): 1919<1919> or Rebecca<+2183481481>
and not 1919 only. I have seen this only in case its not send, otherwise it's 1919.
This is it. Please, I really don't know what to do, and I hope anyone of you guys that might know more about the iphone might help me. I have really tried everything!

    Please, can someone help me??

  • Can not send messages on my ipad

Having problems sending messages on my ipad now that I downloaded ios7

    You tried switching iMessage on/off?

  • Problems sending mail on 3G

My boss got a 3G unit and I set it up for our office email. I can receive but not send. My regular iPad works fine with the same settings and environment. Any thoughts?

You have a wi-fi only iPad and your boss has a wi-fi+3G?
If so, does your boss have any problems sending messages when connected to the same wi-fi network as your iPad is connected to - assuming there is a wi-fi network available at the office?
If no, do you know if the email account has an authenticated SMTP server? Most if not all ISPs block the use of SMTP servers that are outside of their network or not provided by the ISP being used for your internet connection at the time unless the SMTP server is authenticated. Being connected to AT&T's network - using AT&T as the ISP is no exception in this regard.
