I have been searching around trying to find anwsers to this, I dont even know if there is a recovery mode (like my iphone has)

was hoping there was some sort of pressing power and menu combo that would force DFU mode ?

Hi,
To prevent this kind of problem in the future try to update your phone through the WIFI if you have one or the Packet Data service also if you got one. This will keep you in a safe way from getting you stock again if you try to update.
thanks

  • IPhone unplugged during update - Now completely dead

    Hi,
    Yesterday while attempting to update my iphone, the USB cable came loose, disconnecting the iphone. After waiting several minutes, i decided to reset the iphone, and it told me to re connect it to a computer
    I re-connected it and itunes asked to restore the iphone, which i did, however after several minutes of preparing the phone to be restored, i recieved an error 1604, stopping the process.
    I attempted to solve this problem by changing to four different computers, all of which gave me the same result, and i followed the advice on apples support database to no help either (however, I had a great degree of difficulty understanding what to do)
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    To enter recover mode:
    1. Turn your phone OFF. If you can't turn it off, FORCE a turn off by holding down the Power and the Home buttons together for 5 seconds.
    2. While your phone is turned OFF, HOLD DOWN the Home button. Keep it held down.
    3. Connect your phone to the USB cable on your computer. KEEP the Home button held down during all this time.
    4. Keep holding the Home button down until you see the iTunes/restore screens appear on your computer and your iPhone.

His nano also broke and someone he knew fixed it but when he looked at the video he said it needed a new logic board (i never heard this term before, unless it's like apple for motherboard?)

  • IPhone was unplugged during update; now completely unusable, not recognized

    So I was updating to the latest iPhone software through iTunes when somehow, the USB got unplugged. Now, the phone is always off; when I turn it on it just has a picture of a USB cable pointing towards the iTunes logo for a few seconds, and then shuts off again. It's comepletely unusable. When I plug it into the USB port, it is recognized in Windows and the computer and all, but it doesn't appear in iTunes, and the iPhone's screen is the same image as when it is unplugged.
    HELP PLEASE!!!
    No phone + No music = Death.
    =[.
    Thanks in advance!
    --Sarah.

    Try forcing your iPhone into Recovery mode.
    Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone.
    Power off the device (Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the the iPhone or iPod touch to turn off.
    Press and hold the Home button while reconnecting USB cable. When you reconnect USB, the device should then power on.
    Continue holding the Home button while iPhone starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo.
    When you see "Connect to iTunes" on the screen, you can release the Home button and iTunes will display the recovery mode message.
    This will require an iPhone Restore.

  • IPhone froze during update.  How do you unfreeze?

    When updating iPhone, a partial setup of iTunes was made.  iTunes is not wanted or needed - user is deaf.  iPhone is now froze with a request to connect to iTunes.

    I'm guessing you mean iTunes on a computer (as opposed to iTunes on an iPhone).
    EKeller_MT wrote:

    iTunes is used for a whole lot more than sounds.  For one thing, it is used to update the iPhone!  For another, unless you are running OS X Mavericks on a Mac, it houses iBooks.  It also houses movies and apps.
    Bottom line:  Get iTunes on your computer and then connect the iPhone to it.
    Get iTunes from here:

  • My 4s locked up during update.  how do i reset?

    i plugged in my 4s last night when i went to bed so it could download the latest update while i slept.  i woke up to the phone having the 'apple logo' and a download line about 90-95% complete.  can't get the phone to do anything; it just has the logo and line on the screen.  is there a way to reset or remedy the situation.  thank you.

    Reset your phone by pressing and holding the home and sleep/wake buttons until the screen goes black. Release the buttons and turn the phone on.

  • DB dead lock during update

    Hello,
    In our R/3 Enterprise 4.7 Production system running on Windows NT/MSSQL, I saw update errors in t-code SM13.
    Error details:
    Date : 07/19/2009
    No. of errors : 24
    All errors are for background user BATCH-ID
    Function Module    :    RKE_WRITE_ACT_LINE_ITEM_OP01
    Status     :      DB dead lock during update
    SM12 doesnt have any locks currently, not sure about status when these update errors occured.
    I didnt find any SAPnotes related to this F-module or similar.
    Can you please tell whether it is a serious issue and how to handle such errors?
    Regards,
    Roshan

    Hi,
    can u please let us know how many time u have seen this error in SM13. Also from how many days.
    If its only once u have seen, then no need to worry.
    Function Module : RKE_WRITE_ACT_LINE_ITEM_OP01
    Status : DB dead lock during update
    From above lines its clear that,  Function Module : RKE_WRITE_ACT_LINE_ITEM_OP01 was locked, so the update has failed to access that module. Since it had faield to update, so is the error in sm13 with reason DB dead lock during update.
    Can u please refer to the logs in SM21 and also to the trace files(of related work process) related to the same error(red color errors), Try to analyze from there, If u find any difficulties in doing so. Paste the same here  along with ur system verion/DB/OS/Patch level
    Regards,
    Ravi

    Hi @imobl,
    You sound like an Apple support guy who hasn't been able to answer my questions.
    To respond to some of the points you made,
    - I did not ignore Ocean20's suggestion. If you has read my post, you would have known that I took my phone to the apple service centre where they tried this restore on THEIR machines. I am assuming that Apple guys know how not to block iTunes. So I actually do not understand your point about me trying the hosts file changes on my machine. Do you not believe that apple tested this issue with the correct settings?
    - you also give a flawed logic of why the issue is a hardware issue. You mentioned that If I thought that the issue was with the software, i should try a restore and getting it to work. The problem is that my error (23), and many others comes up when the restore fails. And you would be astonished to know that not all errors are hardware errors. Sometimes even software errors prevent restores. Funnily enough Apple itself mention that 'in rare cases, error 23 could be hardware related'.
    - all Apple has done so far is replicate the issue. I don not know how anyone can conclude that the issue is a hardware issue.
    And by the way, I am not certain that this is a software bug. Again if you read my Posts, you will notice I only want a confirmation,/proof that the issue is hardware related as they mention..
    Please refrain do. Responding if there is nothing to add.

    ipad 4 frozen during update ios 8.1.3. - did anybody know how to restart (or reset) my ipad4 from black screen with white apple logo?

    Hi there did you end up getting this resolved?  I have the same exact same issue with my Ipad 4 when updating to 8.1.3....frozen on the apple logo.  Tried resetting as advised by other users but just goes back to the same logo.  Tried connecting to iTunes but device is not picked up at all.  Left it over night to run flat hoping charging might kick start something....but when I put on the charger it shows the battery charge icon but won't actually charge it.  It's really doin my head in trying to find a fix - cheers Morgan

  • How to determine different errors during update database with JDBC 2.0

    During updating my database (MS Access 2000) using JDBC 2.0, I entered a value for the primary key field which has existed
    in the database. However, when executing the method "udpateRow()" it gives me an error message "Error in row" and the
    database was not updated.
    When I update an Integer field with a non-integer value (e.g: Characters ), it also gives me the same error message. When I
    update a Date field with a non-date value, it still displays the same error message.
    How can I determine for each of the cases from the SQLException thrown that the actual error has occurred since I want to
    display a different customized message indicating the different errors that occurred during updating??
    Currently, part of my code is as follows:
              int currentRow = rs.getRow();
              String values[] = new String[ rsmd.getColumnCount() ];
              // Initialize values[] begins here:
              for( int count = 1; count <= rsmd.getColumnCount(); count++ ) {
                   rs.updateObject( count, values[ count - 1 ] );
              try{
                   rs.updateRow();
              catch( SQLException e ) {
                   System.out.println( e.getMessage() );
                   rs.cancelRowUpdates();
                   rs.absolute( currentRow );
    Can someone please help me solve this problem?? THANKS.. :)

    Rather than attempting to figure out which column value causes the update to fail, I would try validating the input data before you attempt to use it in a SQL update. Of course, this would only be useful if you know what data types the inputs are supposed to be in advance of running the update.
