N96 - V20 update - lost connection - failed update
Hey Guys
I'm trying to upate my n96 to v20 and after the download through NSU it looses connection, the phone reboots but NSU goes to recovery then says it's failed to update. I've done the 3 button reset, re-installed PC and NSU but no joy. Is there anything I can do?

Once downloaded it is stored locally temporarily so doesn't keep downloading. When you say that you have un-installed PC Suite + NSU, I am concerned that corrupt registry keys will now preclude a satisfactory installation here.

N96 V20 Update: Connection Lost during OTA update ...
Ok, I decided to update my N96 thru OTA this time. I chose "Check for New Updates" from the phone's menu but while checking if there was a new update, the phone told me "the connection was lost!" with the WLAN modem.
I am now little concerned about using OTA. What happenes if this happens right in the middle of "updating process?"
I wanted to try NSU but this time NSU said the latest firmware was still "V12". No luck there either. I guess V20 isn't widely available around the world yet, or is it?
I don't think NSU would tell me that there was no V20 available yet, where there really was.
By the way, my phone is purchased directly from Nokia (unbranded, no operator branded.)The update may not be available on NSU yet for your product code
One of the cool things about updating OTA rather than via NSU i sthat if the connection is lost, not only does it not crater the phone, but you get the option to resume your download from where it left off rather than the begining -

I also had the problem of a disconnecting wifi while my imac was sleeping. I did not have the reconnecting issue after sleep, but the lost connection issue during sleep which made it impossible to reach my imac for things like homesharing, apple tv or remote desktop. I have a late 2012 iMac with a clean ML 10.8.2 on it and wirelessly connected to an apple time capsule (same as an airport extreme). My partner has a mid 2007 iMac, also with an ML 10.8.2 on it.
I tried every single solution I could find on the internet, such as changing the router's security from wpa2 to wpa, changing the MTU from automatic to manual 1453, router reboots, re-installations, re-configurations, keychain clean-ups, everything.
Eventually I solved my problem with these steps and now it works as a charm. I can still find the iMac with the remote app, even after 12 hours of sleep:
My time capsule router is set on automatic MTU and encrypted with WPA2 and I use the 5Ghz network!
1. Cleaned all the wifi passwords in keychain on my iMac
2. Created a new network location in system preferences
3. In this location I deleted the bluetooth pan and bluetooth dun connection.
4. In this location I changed the preferred connection-order to wifi on #1 and ethernet on #2.
5. Restarted my iMac.
Now I still have a connection when it sleeps and I can wake it to low profile using the remote app (homesharing) and everything works fine.
Hope more people wille be helped by this. -
Mail: "connection failed", problem associated with software update
When I attempt to get mail, I frequently get a symbol on the side panel of an encircled triangle enclosing an exclamation point. If I click on the symbol, I get a message that says (condensed): “connection failed, check settings for your POP account, server error encountered, connection timed out on port 0, do you want to stay offline or go online.” If I click go online, the usual spinning circle appears and then sometimes I get my mail. Sometimes I have to repeat the process several times before I get mail. I am, of course, always online; the connection has never failed. This problem started some time ago after I updated Apple software. I called my ISP and they made a few changes in my mail preferences, but that didn't help. I used disc utility to repair disc permissions and that helped but (strangely enough) only for a few days. This problem was discussed several years ago in message #1724339 but nobody could solve it. check out the "Nokia 808 Belle FP1 bug: WLAN works, but not all ap..." thread. Looks like you are having the same issue, and there's quite some info on this issue in that thread. The issue must be related to Symbian Belle somehow, since Anna and S60v5 are reported to perform well under the same conditions.

I tried uppdating my ipad then it went into recovery mode. I thought "oh no problem, my phone has done this before". So, I hooked it up to iTunes and started to restore/update it, but when the update began, it said it would take 24 hours to download. Already abnormal. Then, the number kept rising higher and higher until it got to 300 HOURS. Then, once it reaches a certain 300, it says "connection failed. please check to see that you have a working connection or try again later" or something like that. So, my iPad is now stuck in recovery mode and I can't exactly talk to people now. What do I do?

Sorry to hear about your issue. I would start your troubleshooting with the article below to check to settings of your computer to make sure your connection is good to the iTunes Store.

I have tried to update my iPod Touch 4G to the latest update, I currently have iOS 4.1. After the 4 hours an error message appears saying iTunes had lost connection even when I am fully connected to the internet. I have repeated the update 4 times now with not luck. Any ideas?

AdamIf you get a network timed out error, try disabling the security software on the computer during the download and install.

After update mac os 10.9 wifi LOST CONNECTION
After I update the lastest operation system, my air lost connection frequently. Each time I have to manually turn off the Wi-Fi for half minute. Then turn it up and it works again. It has happen for dozens of times. Is there anyway to fix it?
I had same problem. Warning -- I am no expert, but tried some things out of desparation and one worked. I have Macbook Pro (about 3 years old). My wife as old iMac (too old for newer OS updates). We have wifi network. threee computers use the network, 3 ipads, and our iphones.
I went into network settings - clicked on our network -- went to advanced -- then opened TCP/IP tab and changed the Configure IPv4: to Using DHCP with manual address. I then entered the address I found on my iPad by going to Setting / WI-FI to find our Network. I clicke the i with the circle around it (information) and found the IP address, I entered the IP address into the MacBook Pro IPv4 address, which is in the format of XX.X.X.XX. However I changed the last number by one digit up. Clicked apply and it worked. Again I am a novice, so this may or may not be a good idea, but at least for now, it is working. DWall71 -
Definition Updates: Connection Failed

I currently have SCCM 2012 R2 and I've created ADR's for the definition updates. In the settings I've set 'Updates distributed from Configuration Manager' as the only source.
Windows 2008 R2 / Windows 2012 and Windows 8.1 clients all seem happy. However the Windows 7 (x64) clients do not update. I just get an error message saying 'Connection failed'.
Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this please as it's driving me up the wall. The polices are just copied off each other and the ADR is a template (I've checked them side by side and they're both nigh on the same).

Mac App Store Connection Failed After Mavericks Update
Hi y'all,
immediately after I updated my Lion to Mavericks (10.9.1), I could not access no more Mac App Store: as I enter my (valid and active) Apple ID credentials, I receive a "Connection Failed" message (in red, in the same login dialog, under the user id field).
So I've tried to set to "Always Trust" all of my Class 3 Certificates in my Keychain, I removed all of the Mac Appstore plist files (appstore and storeagent), I've also tried to remove the network preferences plist file to reset my network interfaces preferences, I've also deleted the ocsp and crls cache files, and I've setup the ocsp and crls certificates preferences in my Keychain Access to off.
I obviously checked out my App Store account and it's correct and active - I'm also currently using it on my iPhone, iPad and iPod with no problem at all!
Anyway I wanted to try creating a new App Store account from the Mac AppStore itself: after I validated it, I tried to login into Mac AppStore... with no success!
So, NONE of the above mentioned attempts solved the problem, and I'm WORRIED and astonished wondering HOW APPLE COULD RELEASE A MAJOR O.S. UPDATE THAT SMASHES THE MAC APP STORE, WHICH IS ONE OF THE CORE APPS OF THIS O.S.!!! I use Mac OSes since many years and I never had O.S. problems (only some minor issue with third party applications out of Apple's scope and solved with some simple workaround).
CAN ANYBODY PLEASE HELP ME? :-)

DANILaunch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

I've updated to FF26 and get the follow error message "Secure Connection Failed" why is that?

If the installed Firefox is from a legitimate source and if the OS is secure, you can be fairly confident that Firefox wouldn't and cannot change OS network settings and hardware settings. Adobe Flash lost connection @ 30%. Mac install fails.
I am seeing this all over the forums with no one finding a solution. I have tried everything suggested either in Safari or Firefox including a clean install 3 times!! Even after uninstalling and deleting the flash files in the library, when I go to try downloading and installing it immediately starts at 30% and then I get the error message "Lost connection. Trying to connect...." then it hangs for a bit and then I get "Connection failed. Unable to complete installation." I go to their support link when the install fails but the link that they suggest to download from directly in the final step is "NOT FOUND". See here: Installation problems | Flash Player | Mac
This same link is showing up in several forums for a solution. I don't know what else to do. I'm posting this to add to the many many others with the same issue in hopes that Adobe will fix this! I am on a MAC OS 10.9.5. Never had this issue before with the flash updates!!!Solution found on another thread. I downloaded and was able to install Flash properly. Make sure you do a clean install just to be sure. -
