N96 Video tones

Well after trying everything for months including numerous hard resets I still cant get the video tones to work with any consistency, sometimes it works most of the time it wont. Im using V12 firmware btw
Has anybody else had the same problem just out of interest.
I hope to god that when the N97 comes out it Nokia actualy do some quality testing before putting it on sale.

Hi,
video ringtones should work only when video call is coming.
Did you set it this way or for voice calls?

  • N96 VIDEO RING TONES

WHEN I SET A VIDEO RING TONE DOES NOT WORK RINGS THE NOKIA DEFAULT TONE HAVE 12.045 SOFT WEAR INSTALLED CAN YOU HELP

This is a known problem with the N96. I believe it was fixed in firmware V12 but cannot confirm since I don't have any video ringtones on mine (it's probably one of the most pointless features of a mobile phone IMO).
Was this post helpful? If so, please click on the white "Kudos!" star below. Thank you!

  • N96 Video Ringtones NOT working

This is really annoying me, it´s impossible to make the video ring tones working in my N96 (no branded). I select it but when receiving calls the nokia default tone rings and nothing happens...
Anyone out there has this working?

works on mine, i think the phone has a time out in place, if the vid is to big it cannot load it in time and so plays the back source.....the default, sometimes you may be doing something demanding and so it might make the phone laggy and so not enough power is needed to load the vid in time and so doing the same a above !

  • N96 Video Editor Missing

    Hi,
N95 had a fantastic video editing function where you could author cool videos on the phone without even connecting to a PC. However, the video editing functionalities seem to be missing in N96. Has this feature been removed from N96?

If you require a video editor there are tons out there.
You can even use Windows Movie Maker in your PC if you want.
    Nero Platnium
    Roxio Movie Premium
    Adobe Elements
    etc. etc.
The phone doesn't have enough power to do the complex tasks of video editing.
I had the N95 with the video editor and also the N93 had it, but if you had high quality videos (VGA) it will always crash, only QVGA videos seemed to work. Also many times after spending a great deal of time creating a MUVEE (texts, credits, audio, different video clips, etc.) sometimes it will just reset the phone and all my work is lost.
I don't really miss this application because I think it was impractical, sure it works ok for a quick video editing, but if you're going to do any more serious editing you need proper software in a PC or MAC.
    just IMHO
640K Should be enough for everybody

  • N96 video ringtone problem

I bougth the n95 yesterday and I already did the 11.0 update. There is a problem with the ringtones though. If I set a video ringtone in my general profile and someone from my contacts call me, it rings with the default ringtone and does not used the one I set. Anyone else experiences this?

    WORKING VIDEO RINGTONE:
I managed to get video ringtones working by encoding to mp4 and making sure the resolution was small enough to fit the normal vertical screen size...
    (btw the video i used was: MPEG4, 8.14 MB, 240x160, 15fps, AAC 64bit)
Though the only problem is it only runs for about 10 seconds or so ...
Il update if this is fixed ....

  • N96 Video malfunction issue

Ok, I've had my N96 for 3 weeks now. Definite love hate relationship! Sure, the fone has a few bugs and can be slow at times but the real problem I have is with the video playback. I have uploaded videos (mp4 format) to the fone but several of these videos will not play or will just play the sound and tell me that it can only partially play the clip. The videos that do upload successfully sometimes freeze or skip too which is really frustrating when trying to demonstrate to people that this fone is as good as all the hype! Also uploading full length movies is a problem.
I never had any difficulties with the N958gb when using the video function and movies I installed ran smoothly without any glitches or slowdown.
I am aware that there will soon be a new firmware upgrade (I have a vodaphone branded handset) but several people I have heard from still report these same faults.
Does anyone have any suggestions which don't include replacing my handset?!?!?!
    Thanks ITG ;-)

You probably have a airtime provider branded phone - check the firmware
    *#0000#
this will tell you the firmware you are on and any "custom version no"
all the version 10 firmwares have major problems and even worse if they are airtime provider branded and crippled. Problem is getting the 11 release firmware wont work due to product code locking .. and even if you get your device unlocked by the airtime provider nokia wont update the firmware ( the software downloaded certainly wont work but even repair centres wont do it)
Data transfer is heavily bugged until the new firmware - FORTUNATELY it works beautifully once its updated - so you have a choice put up with it not makign calls locking up and not playing music / video properly until the airtime provider releases a decent update or go back to a n95.
The larger files die and corrupt as the data transfer routines in the firmware "seem" to have a memory leak ( check out the symbion forums) which slows the transfer down to the point of non completion and or corrupts data in transit.
To be fair it is a new here and the problems aren't nokias they are the vendor crippling .
Sorry I couldn't help more but I am trying hard to get nokia firmware on a vodafone crippled N96 currently - if is success I will post how / where to do it -- I will prolly host the files on one of my ftp servers so we can all get to use phone -- but thats ONCE i get it to work.

  • N96 video playback Zoom in/out feature ?!

Well, i've been trying to figure out how can i zoom in/out while playing videos on N96 but i couldn't & i can't imagine such a High end video centric device doesn't have it ?!, so anyone could help me with that ?

    OK how about this
My video is played via Real Player so I went to
    settings
    applications
    Real Player
    Video
Default playback view and toggeled between window view and full screen.
    Best way I can see
Would be nice if there was a way to select it at the point of playback.

  • N96 Video Camera Mode - Noise Movies

    Dear All,
I love my phone so far, but I'm bit disapointed with the audio of the movies that I can make with my phone, I had a 5300 and the audio quality was better.
I have TOO MUCH noise, even when I somehow try to close the mic. Even doing that I can still get sound...
Looks like the mic volume is TOO HIGH, and I can not adjust it.
    Anybody have the same problem?
    Any tip or trick?
    Regards
    Juliano
    Jay
    N96 16GB

I have this same problem but with some added caveats...
If I copy the recorded video to my computer and play it from there then there is no noise i.e. it only occurs when playing through the N96.
Also, I get the same really annoying loud hissing when playing games through N-Gage. The only 2 I have installed so far are Tetris and Reset-Generation - It happens with both of these unles I turn the sound off in-game.
Was wondering if you chaps have the same extra issues or if it's just limited to recorded videos.
I spoke to Three "Technical" support yesterday who have given me the name/number of a local repair centre to go and get the handset checked, but I'm thinking it's more likely to be a firmware issue, as I'm on Three UK and the software version is still 10.065, with Three not able to tell me when/if they'll release an update (tempted to change product code & update anyway - invalidating warranty I know).
Other than that, after having had the phone over the weekend I'm pretty chuffed with it (speed has improved since I first got it), other than the battery, but then if I do run GPS, 3G and BBC iPlayer at the same time for a few hours it's to do be expected!
Any thoughts on the audio thing? Same issues for you guys or am I on my own?
    Cheers.

  • N96 video converting

Does anyone know if it is possible to convert a dvd into a format that will play on the n96 and if so how?
    Cheers

    Download DVD Decrypter. (It's Free)
Set the Mode to IFO I.
    Go to Tools>Settings>IFO Mode> File Splitting>None.
Insert the DVD and get it copied.
The Copy DVD file is a whole single file of MPEG-2 format DVD (or MPEG-4/H.264 for Blue Ray).
To covert into any of the following codecs (WMV, MP4, H.264/AVC) you need to buy/download MPEG converter.
One good free converter is Videora iPod Classic Converter.
Get it, set your own profile.
    I prefer MPEG4 at 1.2 MBPS or H.264 at 576 KBPS.

  • N96 Video Ringtones and Access points

2 months on and my video ringtones still dont work, they try to start and then go to nokias horrible ringtone, also under email and realplayer the phone refuses to change the default access point entered which in my case with realplayer is none, this means my realplayer wont streaming anything!
Has anyone else had this issue.

You might have to categorise your access points manually, for example, move (or copy) your wireless lan network called 'Hello' to the internet access point group.
Also you should be able to select the access point real player uses within the settings menu, are you saying that only 'None.' is available? If so, thats weird!
Are your video ring tones on the memory card? (not mass memory) as this could slow down the opining of the videos, try using the default ones that came with the phone and see if they work.
If you can update your phone's firmware, like el_loco said, do it!

  • N96 video hiss

Just got myself a Nokia N96 and whilst the picture quality of the video camera is great i'm getting a lot of hiss on the audio. Has anyone else got this problem? I'm using the video at the high quality settings and have used it indoors and out and all recordings have a very noticeable hiss on them? Can anyone help?
    Thanks
    Paul.

    What a stupid reply!
    Back to the subject matter.
The N95 had this problem when i first got it, well mine did anyway, and a firmware update fixed the hissing.
So all i can suggest is to update the firmware if you can and hopefully the hissing will be gone, if not hopefully a future firmware will fix it.
Stupid but funny hehehe, I don´t understand why the people still trying to get nice pictures and incredible videos using a mobile phone, each device is intended for one thing!

  • N96 video

Hi.I was format my n96 and all of my video are deleting. Is there any body to send the videos for memp4)

Unfortunately I can't help you with the Travel video because I deleted it among other things that were taking up space on the phone. You can however download more Nokia videos by using the video centre.
Goto Video Centre>Video feeds>More Feeds>Nokia Videos. While you are in Video Feeds you may also find other videos to yout liking. You could also rip your favourite DVD and save it to your phone.
