N96 Wallpaper issues

Since receiving my N96 i have been experiencing problems with the Wallpaper changing back to the Nokia default randomly.
This normally happens when i have removed the phone from my pocket.
I reset the wallpaper back to the picture that i require and on occasions i will remove the phone from my pocket and it has changed.
Can anyone help with a solution to the wallpaper not saving permanently??

Firstly take the battery out for 5 minutes and then replace and see if that makes any difference.
Then try the "3 finger reset" which is depress these three keys simultaneously "*" "3" "green phone" and then power on phone whilst keeping those same three keys depressed until you hear start-up tone.

if no joy here a trip to a nokia care point is the solution

Annoying desktop wallpaper issues

Lately i'm having issues with my wallpaper on my macbookpro. The state of my wallpaper now is white, just white nothing else. I try and apply a new image but it doesnt seem to do anything. Whenever i reboot my mbp, my old wallpaper images displays for a couple of seconds until osx is fully loaded but then goes back to white. I use a secondry monitor as well, but it displays images, just not the screen on my mbp. The mmp works perfecly, nothing else wrong with it (touch wood) just this really annoying desktop wallpaper issue!
Anyone have any ideas?

Ok it seems to of been a wee app called instantshot that was the culprit.

N96 display issue?

Hey all,
I have a ten day old N96 but have some issues about its display. There are about three shiny dots on the display. One of them at about the center and a bit shiny and unpleasant specially in dark colors. Two others are at about the corners but so hardly noticeable. However they seem not dead pixels because theyre way smaller than ordinary pixels.
Could you please tell me is it a malfunction or not? Should i have to worry about it? Things getting worse over time?
And finally have you ever had this issue?
I never had this problem with my ex N95-1.
Any reply would be appreciated.

Some one must know how to fix this dark screen issue.
It is all over the net.
I still own this piece of junk and use it for a camera and Music player.
Screen went black again and I don't recall how to fix it.
Tried the battery in out reset. No luck.
Can't format it.
Can't reset it
Can't seen the screen.
Any help would be great.
I would like to get my $500 investment out of this overpriced camera.
Any tips please and I am sure you will help others.
I have spent hours searching forms and the engines with no answer.
I fixed it once but no longer recall the fix.
I am considering the toss at wall with force.
This works well with the Ipods I have had.

Wallpaper issues under openbox

I know how to set the wallpaper (in a number of ways, even). That's not the issue.
I'm running Arch under VirtualBox, with the guest additions installed. This allows magically setting the resolution when I change the size of the virtual screen. Unfortunately, this does not update my wallpaper's aspect ratio, so the wallpaper tiles rather than zooming to fit. How do I fix this?
For reference, I'm setting my wallpaper with
feh --bg-max ~/wallpaper-377161.jpg

Hi guys, this is my first post here so be nice!
I've been agonising over this small detail for a few days now, whilst trivial I NEED feh to reapply my wallpaper when I resize my VB window - as Deltadesu mentions above feh applies the wallpaper based on the 'current' screen size, so any resolution > than the current resolution, the wallpaper tiles.
I have read about calling feh from VBoxRandR.sh - but as this doesnt exist any longer I'm stuck!

Having difficulty using photos for wallpaper...won't resize or scale.....please address this issue. thank you.

Unfortunately no one here knows for sure, when/if there will be a fix, or if Apple even considers it an issue.
If you go in through the photos app and send your image to be wallpaper you will have a bit more control than if you go in through the wallpaper part of the settings.

Iphone wallpaper issue

Not a major issue but...
My wallpaper is not showing up on the lock screen. I just get the big battery life indicator. I've tried to reset the phone but this doesn't work. Does anyone know how to fix this?

N96 - Date Issue

Has anyone experienced the date automatically changing on the N96?

Leaving it on does appear to be the only workaround at the moment.
I've just been changing the date each day when it jumps on 5 days. This is usually around 30 minutes to an hour after the alarm has gone off.
There's also a problem with the snooze setting too. The phone doesn't always wake back up if you have snooze set to 10 minutes. Again, leaving it on is a workaround.
I believe that nokia are aware of these issues so hopefully we will see a fix in the next firmware.

WinXP GPO Wallpaper Issue

Hi there, we are currently encountering an issue with wallpapers in our Windows XP machines. We use Group Policy to enforce a wallpaper on our users and works accross all machines (Win XP, Vista and 7) on our "Group 1" Group Policy, however on
our "group 2" policy we have (more restricted policy for some users) we just get a blue desktop on Windows XP
How it appears in XP

Check the below settings on group policy,
- Check the setting "Enable Active Desktop" is set to Enable.
The setting will be available on below path,
User Configuation -> Policies -> Administative Templates ->Desktop ->Active Desktop.
- Check the setting Desktop Wallpaer Style is set to "Stretch".
The setting will be available on below path,
User Configuation -> Policies -> Administative Templates ->Desktop -> Desktop.
After enabling the above settings reboot the xp machine and check whether the wallpaper is displayed.

Anyone Solved the N96 Update Issue?

Wondering if anyone has come up with a solution to the problem of being asked to remove battery, charger and retry etc when using Nokia PC Suite to upgrade the firmware?
I have a branded T-Mobile N96 and the firmware update is available now to 11.###
I can't get past the step where it asks me to disconnect the charger and press the power button - very frustrating!
Anyone solved it?

I had a lot of trouble updating my N82 using vista. It worked fine using XP. I have successfully updated other phones using vista but I still prefer XP for updates.
You should consider a reset as a last resort. Back up before you do using ovi suite if you have any pre-installed content that has a licence key. If you have installed any apps to the mass memory it may help to format that before a *#7370# reset.
Reset to factory defaults (*#7780#) : Restores settings but preserves user data (photos, 3rd party apps etc)
Reset (*#7370#) : This reformats completely the C: drive. All applications and files stored on this drive will be lost and clean default files will be rewritten.

N96 Update issue

I have an update available (11.101), but the update doesn't complete.
The full 127Mb (or whatever) downloads, and it starts the update, tells me approx 15 minutes left, and just seems to freeze at that.
Sometimes it comes up with the phone recovery screen, sometimes doesn't, just stays at 15 mins left forever!
I have uninstalled the software updater program, and re-installed, same thing.
I had an N96 recently, and it worked fine, but I had it replaced on insurance yesterday, and now doesn't work.
Any ideas?

The reason why the warranty is lost is because you have modified the handset. I agree that the reasoning is more commercial than technical but that's the way it is whether we like it or not.
Orange taking your handset back is yet more proof of their incompetence. Once outside the period during which you can return a handset after taking out or renewing a contract you're supposed to contact a Nokia Care Point for repairs, not the operator. A Nokia Care Point will know that you've changed the product code and will be in their right to refuse to repair the phone under warranty, and could even refuse to repair the phone at all.
Nobody buys phones from me -- I don't sell them. However, you're right in that something like 90% of phones in the UK are obtained from operators with contracts or PAYG rather than bought SIM-free direct from Nokia or a third-party retailer. Personally, I am one of the remaining 10%, preferring to pay the extra price and get the phone as it was intended by Nokia instead of crippled by an operator, and get access to firmware updates sooner.

Having some Desktop wallpaper issues.

Hi, I am having trouble getting the result from a wallpaper program that I want, and was hoping you guys could help me find a good one.
I have tried every program on https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Li … er_setters and could not find one that meets my needs.
I would like to have a different wallpaper for every workspace in Xfce. I recently converted from Manjaro, and the Xfce desktop settings had better wallpaper setting functionality, but the version I installed in Arch does not have these features.

Desktop Wallpaper Issues

The upgrade to SL went smoothly. One minor issue is that the custom wall paper that I choose under system prefrences always reverts back to a blue screen. Anyone else having this issue?

Create a new User go to System Preferences >> Accounts >> "+" (make it an admin acct) and test the apps in this new account, if they work the problem is isolated to your User and not systemwide.

Wallpaper issues

I noticed odd problem with me mac. I have own wallpaper on the desktop. When I login I see mac default wallpaper (changes around the default wallpaper set) and then it turns to my custom wallpaper. Could there be like 2 wallpapers on top of each others and that way eat resources? How can i change the wallpaper so that it would not show the default pictures at all?

This only occurs when i am having myself logged in and put on that secondary user login window... this doesnt occur when screen saver asks for password or initial login.. only when that "box turns"

N96 Reception issues

Hi just wondering about the N96 Antenna. I have a t mobile G1 as well. I put my sim in The G1 and i get instant 3G. When i put the sim in my N96 i get no 3G. does anyone else have this? Is the antenna poor?

Nope! In fact more often than not I get 3.5G.
Have you ensured all your settings are right?
Might be worth doing a factory reset on your handset to ensure the settings are correct.
BACKUP BEFORE DOING THIS.

Placing a photo wallpaper issue

I really want a picture of my children as my wallpaper but I have to crop such a small portion of a photo and it stretches over ther three page I hav. Is there anyway of having. One picture in the background that's not spread over several pages??
