N97 and opera mini beta 5

Just installed opera mini beta 5 and it is a fantastic piece of software, the onyl problem I have is it will only connect using my contract wap and not through my home wifi, I have the N97 set up for all other internet applications to always ask. Anyone know how to resolve?

Menu-settings-applications-installed applications-select opera mini (single tap) -options-suite settings- access point

just a quick heads up, Opera mini beta for Symbian has been released today , written in native Symbian and not Java based , worth giving it a try just go to the opera web site and download the symbian beta version

I'm finding it Really good, Really fast and Very gentle on the phone memory, it really needs to be adopted as the default browser for Nokia (if they could get Flash to work on it) if this is a beta the finished product should be unbelievable

N97 and Opera Mobile - virtual keyboard

Is there any way to swtich the virtual keyboard off on Opera Mobile? I'd like to be able to type direct into the webpage, like you can on the built-in browser. Also, some symbols aren't available on the virtual keyboard (and the symbol key on the hard keyboard is deactivated).

Hi, I've used Opera mini for about 18 months, find it great. To remove virtual keyboard go to settings (on Opera), Advanced, Inline-Editing,set to off.. You won't be able to edit on web page have to use notepad that appears then ok to enter on page, but both QWERTY and phone virtual pad will work. Also have tried Opera Mobile 10, but find it caused freezing/locking and didn't seem any better or faster than Opera mini 5 Beta, which for the last 4 months has performed faultlessly on my N97, and which I continue to use. Hope this helps. Also try Snaptu, very useful and time saving, but need to go into Application settings, Installed apps, options settings, turn off onscreen keypad.

Problem in whatsapp and opera mini

after upgrading to that version of whatsapp in which new smiley's were added i am facing this problem. I cant send and recieve images or ne media through cell network but it works through wifi , but before that update i was able to send or recieve media but now i cant . In opera mini i am facing problem that i cant watch videos online it says connection failed and its same while initialising whatsapp i have to initialise whatsapp using wifi because being connected to net it says connection failed ......plz help me ....i m xtrmly annoyed with dis

Bold 9650 and Opera Mini 5

I was just curious, have any of you Bold owners tried running Opera Mini 5 for Blackberry? It ran fine on my Tour, but it does not run well on the Bold. The trackball is super sensitive while in this program. I have found a trackball setting of 70 and 70 is a good setting for my Bold. However, you can turn it down all the way, and Opera is still sensitive, to a point that you can not navigate. I just wanted to get some of your ideas.

Well, Opera released an update for Opera Mini to 5.1, and it will still not run on a Bold 9650 due to trackpad issues. I have just about given up on Opera.

Nokia 6267 and Opera mini

I buy Nokia 6267 very good phone. For default i have installed Opera mini version nokia_s40_3 all v.2.0.7346, 20070402. I receive automatic settings from my operator (Globul) on Bulgaria for wap via GPRS and with Nokia application for browsing the net i have not problems - opening wap site and etc, but when I try to go to web sie with Opera mini I receive error of connection. How to set-up Opera mini for opening web?
I have this problem and other java apps used net.

6280 and opera mini

I have tried using Opera mini on my phone as I want to browse web pages more than what my phone will allow. However, I have downloaded all the connection settings (various times and in various ways) and still whenever I open the opera application It will never connect. C3-00 @mail and Opera Mini worked in South Amrica ...

I purchased a new C3-00 in the UAE - I took it to South Amrica and bought a local Ancel SIM. Opera and @Mail worked well, I could check Yahoo, Hotmail and Gmail using the wireless router I had there.
I came back to the UAE and put in my Etisalat SIM and these applications quit working. Opera fails to connect and Nokia Mail, after pressing Start, just hangs forever.
I tried EVERYTHING. I also updated the phone's software to version 7.20 - no results.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know.
Wondering when Nokia is going to fix this.....

Actually I am connecting thru the wlan OK - I can use AccuWeather, Reuters, OVI store.
But the included in the firmware version of Opera Mini will not work (Or a d/l version either) and Nokia Mail will not work, it opens and then when you press "Start" if just waits forever - before down south I could get to my Yahoo, Gma

I have a problem installing Opera mini 4.2, Opera mini 5.1 and Opera mini 5.2 on N97 and I have no idea what's the reason. I am able to access all other web pages through "WLan" and "Service provide internet data pakage" but I have no idea about the problem with Opera mini.
Worthy to mention, I am able to run Opera mobile 10 on my mobile. But what exactly is the reason for Opera mini's to remain unconnected ?
"Rresource download failed" is the message I get every time I try to run Opera mini. I have successfully installed Firmware 2.1 and hard reset my phone, bu this problem is still persisting.
Any solution ?

5800 XM - Opera Mini vs Mobile

I used both Opera Mobile 10 beta and Opera Mini 5 beta in 5800 XM.
Opera Mobile crashed very frequently requiring restart of the phone!
Opera Mini is much better. I also see apparently no difference between Mini & Mobile version!
So, I am now settled with Opera Mini.

I had the same crashing issue with the beta of Opera Mobile. i was getting a message saying my phone memory was full even though i had over 70MB of RAM free.
I read elsewhere on this forum to load Opera Mobile, go to the address bar and enter
opera:config
You can then go in and change the default memory from 4096 to 2048. Since I did this, it's worked great and I've now uninstalled Opera mini.

Opera Mini 5 on 5800

Is it just me or does the scrolling in Opera Mini 5 feel twitchy and nervous?
And does anyone else have issues with the browser locking up when changing from landscape to portrait and vice versa?
I know its a beta...just want to see if anyone else is having the same issues.

I've run into a possibly similar problem - since installing opera mini beta 5, I've noticed that my phone stutters or freezes about once a minute. I've installed nokia energy profiler and this shows 100% cpu usage at these times. I can't be sure that it's OM's fault, but I can't think of anything else I've done to the phone prior to the problem arising.
It makes using iplayer a real pain - skips frames and sound once per minute now.

Unable to use Opera Mini with nokia 5310

I can browse with the phone's browser, but when I try to connect using opera mini, i get a message stating unable to connect to my network. Is it that the phone is incompatible with opera mini? It did come pre-loaded on the phone.
I noticed that I get the same problem when using Yahoo Go, another pre-installed program.

Do you have your network operator's (service provider's, carrier's) Internet access point settings defined on your phone? The built-in browser might be using WAP, and Opera Mini and Yahoo! Go might be requiring full Internet access.
