    What do you mean by connecting your Windows?  The only connection you will get is via iTunes to stream your media content.

  • Cant connect to windows

    I cant get my ipod to connect to windows, have tried 5 Rs on updating ipod softwareit recognised it and installed latest version - 2.3, but now have same problem, computer cannot recognise it and gives message - USB device not recognised.
    Any tips?

    Hey Stuart,
    I have a few suggestions, since I also own a Dimension and have hadd problems in the past while trying to connect with the Ipod.
    1. Try using the same account that the other Ipod is using.
    Can you let me know which Ipod she uses, Newer? older?
    Note, if you don't have any External Hard Drives and/or storage devices, skip #2
    2. If you have ANY External Hard Drives connected to the PC while connecting older Ipods, normally it'll cause major interference. If you have any External HDD's, Turn off your PC, Unplug the USB cable from your PC to your External Hard drive, and try again.
    3. Next I would reccomend Updating Windows, via Windows Update, and Itunes.
    4. And last but not least, If your Ipod gets recognised by other PC's but not by yours, what model are those other machines that do recognise it?

  • N97 cant connect to internet after firmware update

    Let me start by saying that I've always been a loyal nokia supporter until the n97.
    from the first day out of the box it has given me nothing but trouble!!! and i think that Nokia made a lot of mistakes with this "flagship phone"
    But on to a more recent problem I've been having. i updated my firmware (via computer) to firmware v20.0.0.19 unfortunately I've completly lost the ability to go online through any form (3g /wifi) I've done everything i could think of (soft reset, hard reset) but nothing helps. I've read many threads who appear to have the same problem, only nobody has found a full prove solution (as far as i can see)
    please prove me wrong. I'm  at the point where it annoys me so much that i want to trow the phone out of a 5 story window

    hi, sorry you're having problems, it may seem obvious but have you tried deleting all your internet access points, and then adding new access point ? May help, also I'm sure I saw another post with a similar issue also on 3, maybe worth contacting them as they are renound for tightly controling there branded phones and may be able to send you some new settings.
    Hope you get it sorted it's a great phone once it's running right, and mine is on V2.1.
    Good Luck

  • Cant connect to Windows after conneting to Mac

    The first time I used my iPod (30 video), I connected it to a Mac computer. Later, when I tried connecting it to my own computer (windows operated) the iTunes did not recognize it. And when I ran the updater I got a message saying I need to restore my iPod. Does anyone know a way to get around this and not have to restore it? Because I dont have any of the songs in my computer and its going to be impossible to get all of the 4016 songs again.

  • N97 mini cant connect via open wifi

    I cant connect to internet with none of the open wifi, also called wifi zones, those wifi at public places.... sometimes say me than I cant connect to network, or if can connect, applications than request internet no connect or say me than need use other access point
    I have firmware version 12.2.121

    Try this go to settings>connectivity>destinations>then see if there's an option to add New access point. If not then find the place where the open Wifi name is displayed. Then touch it twice then you will see the settings for the access
    point. Now, click on options
    button at the bottom left of the screen and
    select “Advanced Settings” from the list. This
    will take you to the advanced settings. In Advanced Settings, you will now see four
    settings, namely IPv4 settings, IPv6 settings,
    Proxy Server Address and Proxy port
    number. In IPv4 you have to enter the ip and subnet mask and default gateway. Then tap back then enter the proxy and port number. You have to set the WLAN mode as public security as open. Try and reply.

  • Problems with n97 apps connecting to network (Voda...

    Problems with n97 apps connecting to network (Vodafone UK – 3G)
    Recently a number of my apps which used to connect automatically to the internet (which ever was available – known wi-fi or 3g) have stopped doing this.  They now only connect to one known wi-fi.
    I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling each app, but this hasn’t solved the problem.  I’ve checked for software updates and do not believe any have been applied or are available.  All apps have been downloaded via Ovi on the phone.  I still am able to access the internet by the web browser which was installed on the phone and via google maps (which also still manages GPS position, search, etc).
    The apps which I notice causing a problem are:
    Sainsbury’s/nectar
    Tesco
    Map my tracks
    Snaptu
    Opera Mini
    Any one got any ideas???

    I have the same problem since i updated my mac to 10.5.6.
    Each time I have to do a diagnostic and retype the WEP password to have the internet connection.

  • Help with OBDC connection in Windows 7 64bit with Office 2010 32 bit.

    Hi,
    Many moons ago I wrote an application in Java that configured XP machines after they were sysprep’d and deployed. I am currently migrating all our workstations to Windows 7, and was checking my application still worked and queries the correct registry keys etc.
    As it turns out however I don't even get going as I believe the application is unable to connect to the ODBC Microsoft Access Driver in Windows 7 64bit with Office 2010 32 bit. Below is the code I have always used and no longer works. I am hopeful that someone can tell me how to modify the command to work on Windows 7 64bit. If I browse to C:\Windows\SysWow64\OBDCad32.exe all the drivers I need are there I think, but if I open OBDC from Administrative Tools the Drivers tab is empty but for SQL. Anyway I will shut up and below is the code I used to use:
         public IOMakeConnection()
         dm = new DisplayMessage();
         ioed = new IOEncryptDecrypt();
         url = "jdbc:odbc:DRIVER=Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb);DBQ=" + getPath() + "Config.mdb;Uid=admin;Pwd=password";
              try
              Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
              connection = DriverManager.getConnection( url );
              catch( Exception e )
              system.out.println( "" + e );
              errorObtainingPath();
    The exception is always thrown as my little app that requests the database path always loads.
    Thanks in advance,
    Cheers Kris

    Hello again,
    Sorry for the delayed response, I have been out of the office for a few days.
    I have solved the issue, and as stated above the issue was the way I was launching the application. Below is a summary of the issue and the resolution.
    My problem was that in Windows 64bit if you click on ODBC in Administrative Tools the Drivers Tab only includes an SQL Driver, and my code reference a Microsoft Access Driver to query the database. That said however if you browse to C:\Windows\SysWow64 and open obdcab32.exe it opens the 32bit version of ODBC, and the Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb) is listed.
    Basically what I need to do therefore is get my code to access the “32bit” version of ODBC in a Windows 7 64bit environment, so my application was able to read the necessary information from the Access Database associated with it.
    I understand that this is not a coding issue directly, but assuming people still use Java to open an Access Database on a Windows 7 64bit OS, this may be of help.
    So previously I ran the following command, from the “Target” box in a shortcut to execute the java code:
    cmd.exe /C SET CLASSPATH=C:\SCAConfigurationUtility && CD\SCAConfigurationUtility && JAVAW SCAConfigurationUtility
    Windows 7 64bit, defaults to the 64bit version of Java, and just seems to plain fail if you only have the 32bit version installed. To overcome this I forced the java executable that I was using to be the 32bit version, and used the system switches available in Java 7 (-cp does not appear to be available in Java 6)
    So my Shortcut now has this in the “Target” box:
    java.exe -d32 -cp C:\SCAConfigurationUtility SCAConfigurationUtility
    And this in the “Start in” box:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin"
    Or by using the target below the same shortcut works in XP
    "C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin"
    Thanks for all the help,
    Regards Kris.

  • N97 mini connectivity issues

    How do i make N97 mini connect to wi-fi automatically when i'm at home and packet network (3G etc.) when no wi-fi is available? Also how to make it prompt before connecting to packet network, as i get charged for it?
    This phone has got a mind of its own at the moment, Facebook widget tries to connect to packet network even when an existing wi-fi connection is extablished (and spotify is using it). I get a beep every time it fails...very annoying!!!
    In fact ALL widgets try to establish a packet connection when there's no need and i simply cannot change any settings to make this device work sanely.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for your replies.
    I have gone into Settings > Connectivity > Destinations. There are two access points under "Internet - "BeBox" (Wi-fi) and "O2 mobile Web". Now if i click on wi-fi > Options > Organise > Change Priority, the phone gives two options at the bottom of the screen - "OK" and "Cancel". I click OK. Nothing happens. Wi-fi still priority: 2, O2 mobile Web priority: 1. Tried many times, can't change it. Am i doing something wrong?
    Also i set the Wi-fi to "Use Access Point: After Confirmation" from within Destination > Internet > Wi-fi connection > Options > Edit. However given about 30 seconds the phone has connected again to the wi-fi as seen in "WLAN" where it says "Connected to BeBox" (my wi-fi). But it never promted me if i wanted it to connect?? Of course i realise that it connected again also if i try to edit it again where it says "Access point is currently in use: Unable to Edit".
    Previous to these changes described above i had set the home screen to "Content to offline mode". No other applications are open. If i set the home screen to "Online mode" i get repetetive error messages "Internet: Unable to connect, try again" which are sometimes very frequent so thai can't interact with the phone until they've stopped. Even with wi-fi at priority: 2, the phone does not attempt to connect to wi-fi once the "O2 mobile web connection" fails, it simply gives this error message. This happens even when there is an active and current connection to "BeBox" under "Connections. i.e. a good wi-fi connection.
    I don't understand what this phone is going, i would really appreciate your knowledge and advice because this device behaving unlike anything i've ever used.
    (I do intend to get the bolt-on etc at some point but at the end of the day i'd still like to know what my phone is doing and when.)
    Thanks in advance.

  • HELP!Cant connect Shuffle To Windows!

    My shuffle can't connect to my computer. I mean even no "GREEN LIGHT"!! I can't update my shuffle!!
    HELP!!

    The ability to connect to Windows via RDC is dependent on the version of Windows you are using.  Not Xp vs 7 vs 8, but Pro vs. standard (for Win 8 and XP) or Pro/Ultimate vs. Home (for Win 7).  You need the Pro or Ultimate versions to host an RDP connection from another computer.
    If you have the correct version of Windows installed at home, the problem lies elsewhere (you might have remote connections disabled at the Windows end of the link).

  • Windows sees airport but cant connect, windows sees airport but cant connect

    Set up internet sharing on my iMac, my android phone connects, my daughters iPod connects, no problem, her PC however sees my iMac wifi but cant connect to it, doesnt ask for password or anything?

    With the cable modem cabled to the Base Station's ethernet WAN port (the one labelled with the "circle of dots" icon) pull power to both the Base Station and the modem for at least five minutes. Then plug the modem into power and wait a minute. Then plug the Base Station into power and wait a minute. Then try internet access again.
