N97 charging through usb cable in-car

using the nokia usb cable to charge the phone when connected to pc works fine. no problems at all. decided to use the same cable to charge whilst in the car, through a 3 way splitter which has a 5v usb port. nothing. no charging took place. I can get a charge for my DS using it's cable in the usb port, but not the nokia. What am I missing? is it that the nokia demands more juice to get a charge going, or what? I'm confused. Can anyone help with this?

What do you mean it swithes on. Thats because its charging.
Now if your talking about it opening itunes, thats fixable. Just let it open up itunes & go to ur device & scroll down on summary until you see a box to select saying "automatically open itunes when this device is connect" make sure the little box isnt checked.

Playbook only works with charger or USB cable despite batter showing 100% charge

After 2 years of faithful service, playbook only works with charger or USB cable despite batter showing 100% charge. As soon as the cable/charger is unplugged, it just switches off. When cable is plugged in again, and start button pressed, it reboots. I have reinstalled sftwer from scrathc via Desktop Manager, but the problem persists. I saw this problem raised in the fora several times, but never any explanation why it happens. Any ideas?

A high resistance between battery lead and motherboard would allow trickle charge but not power discharge.
If you want to risk it, prise off the back of the playbook using an old credit card, locate the two screws holding on the battery lead, remove, clean up, then replace. replace back carefully as the antennae connectors are pressure pads.

What normally happens is most people take showers and listen to thier ipods or live around many sources of humidity. Moisture corrodes the 30 pin connector on the ipod touch. Clean and inspect the ipod touch's connection pins to resolve most charging/ sync issues.. The pins could also be dirty, bent or broken. If dirty: Take 91% rubbing alcohol, dip a tooth brush into it, shake the excessive alcohol off leaving the brush damp(don't use to much alcohol, it should not be dripping). Careful!!! The Pins are Very Fragile! Gently brush the connector pins, long ways, left to right in a few second bursts, inspecting the pins as you go... If you have an eye loop or magnifying glass you can see inside the connector easily and see if the pins look dirty or bent or broken. If they are bent you have to VERY GENTLY stand them back up. If they are bent very far down, chances are you will snap them off trying to straighten them back up. If they are not severely bent over, use a very small flat head precision screw driver to bend the pin back parallel with the good pins. Pease note: certain pins are used by the wire for different things such as sync or charging... If your pins are broken off, do a search and find out what the individual pins on the ipod 30 pin connector do to see what is affected. Worst case is your pins are broken off. U can attempt to solder the broken pins back on without opening the ipod touch, which is super difficult to do, or you can open the touch and repair/replace to 30 pin connector entirely. U will need to do some micro soldering to say to least! Don't attempt unless you are confident in your soldering skills and research how to open an ipod touch? You will need some specific tools and watch out for floating LINT! Get some canned air ;) use a small 1/2 second bursts from 4-6" away because it will steam up you touch if used for to long. Good luck!

That is probably a lot of stuff you do not want on your iPhone. So this can be handled a few different was. For you current situation, you can delete the apps directly on your iPhone by holding on the app until it starts to jiggle and then tap on the X of all the apps that you do not want. The second thing you can do is before you sync with iTunes, look at the app section on your iPhone to know what gets transfer to it and you can deselect items that you do not want. Lastly, if you download content on your iPad and it is a universal app, you can actually download it directly to your iPhone by looking at your past purchases and download it directly from the App Store. I have never used anything which charges through USB before, and tbh, would not have bought the zen micro had I known it didnt come with an adaptor (i'm very suspicious of the whole charging through USB thing)
So I guess I want some reassurance. I have a 600w PSU, hooked up to a DFI lanParty UltraB, g Ram, 9800PRO gfx card (which has it's own molex connector from the PSU), audigy2, 2 internal HD's, 2 CD/DVD dri'ves and my case is a Lian Li fishtank, with UV spotlights, air pump, blue and UV cold cathodes and I use an air extractor to cool my gfx card.
So - is the Zen in any danger of overloading my PSU and frying my system? Other USB devices I have - Saitek Eclipse KB, Logitech G5 mouse, Wacom Graphire3, Iomega external powered harddisk and Griffin Powermate.

plec: The USB standard allows for a 500mA current (small) to be supplied to any device using a USB port. The Micro or any player that charges via USB will only use that amount to charge as well as sharing with the data connection. You can dedicate all that 500mA to charging the player if you use the latest ..0 or 2.20.05 firmware, then slide the power button to lock the player before connecting to the PC.
Don't panic, it's not going to overload your PC as the current drain is USB standard and small.

Plug your iPad into your computer. THere may be a delay while it installs drivers but if you can see your iPad in windows explorer, use that to get to your photos.
Click on your iPad and you should see a DCIM folder. Click thorugh that to find your photos.
Windows explorer will see your iPad as nothing more than a digital camera, and that's the part you're trying to access.
