N97 - Contacts Widget Photo Bug
Discovered another bug *sigh* with my N97,
My contacts widget started not displaying the photos of the listed contact favourites. The names of the contacts would be individually displayed but no images. I found this odd, but a re-start usually fixed it.
Now however, a restart does not resolve the issue. I've tried de-listing my favourites and re-listing them, and I've tried the contacts widget II, with no success.
No doubt a re-install of the firmware will fix the issue, but I currently don't have the time to do this.
N97 v12. Yet another bug. Yawn.
You can try the following, by me it had helped everytime.
Remove your favourites widget from the homescreen, then restart your phone and after restart, add your favourites to the homescreen again.
Hope this helpf for you too, by me it works on V11.

How can I make sure that itunes saved contacts and photos FROM my iPhone on last back up ?, i just bought this phone and store transfer contacts from old non-smart phone and dont want to loose them !
Look in whatever software on your computer handles your contacts and photos. Neither will be part of the backup file. This may be of help:

How can i connect my iphone to a new itunes library without losing my contacts and photos ?
how can i connect my iphone to a new itunes library without losing my contacts and photos ?
Is the new iTunes library on a different computer, or the same computer?
Are you concerned about photos that you have taken with the iPhone in the Camera Roll, or photos you have synced to the iPhone from your computer?
Contacts should be configured to sync with an app on your computer. You set this up in iTunes on the Info tab with the iPhone connected. You will not lose any contacts if the app on your computer has at least one contact. -
I have an apple id account set up with an icloud; I would like to continue to share the music from my devices while keeping the contacts and photos seperate, is this possible? My wife and daughter received iphones for Christmas, I set up my daughters phone to my cloud and all of my contacts and photos ended up on her phone. Is there a way to keep them seperate in 1 cloud (with folders or something) or does each phone need its own icloud? And if so, can we still keep 1 apple id for music purchases or will we not be able to share music anymore? Thank you for any help you can provide, I am confused with all of this as we are fairly new to the apple world.
Welcome to the Apple Community.
iTunes and iCloud are separate things. You can keep using a single ID for iTunes and use separate ID's for iCloud, thereby keeping mail, contact etc separate. -

How do I get my contacts and photos back for my iPhone 4 , after updating to ios5 it loaded my old phones info so I lost contacts messages and photos an video
Hello johnohuk,
Thanks for the question. It sounds like most of your music was purchased from the iTunes Store. If your country supports iTunes in the Cloud, you can download your past purchases using this article:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

How can I sync my new iPhone 4S to calendar, contacts, and photos on my MacBook?
Just bought my first iPhone after 2 years as an Android user. My 2008 MacBook would never talk to the Android, but now - they tell me - I can backup my phone onto my computer and share contacts, calendar and photos with the computer.
I've plugged the phone into the computer but the computer's Finder doesn't show it. And the phone indicates it's charging but doesn't show any way to swap data.
I feel like I'm missing something really basic ... but what? All of this is handled through iTunes. You must have iTunes installed on the comptuer. Also, you will not be able to see any files in Finder, as the iPhone does not give you access to that information. The only time you will ever see anything from the iPhone in Finder is if you have photos in the Camera Roll.
After you download and install iTunes, you would set up syncing your device with specific apps on the computer, to handle calendar, contacts, and photos. You might want to start out by thumbing through the User Guide here: http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf -

How do I reinstall/fix stock Contacts widget?
I have a LG Revolution running Android 2.3.6, the latest software I believe. The stock "Contacts" widget started to act up from few weeks ago. After
I select the "Contacts" widget and try to select on any of the contact entry, the widget crashes, with a error message such as the following pop up:
Sorry! The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
"Force close"
Reboot doesn't solve the problem.
Has anyone else seen the same? Since this is the stock widget coming with the OS, I am not sure how to reinstall the widget. I sure hope I don't have to
reinstall the OS.
Any info. would be appreciated!
TTZHi ttz. We don't want your widgets acting up, so let's see how to get it acting right. With a stock widget, there really isn't a way to uninstall it, but you can try to remove http://vz.to/12Yeqlp then readd http://vz.to/13ccQvd the widget. Many times something this simple can help to reload the phone's connection to the widget and get you back to your helpful shortcut. The most recent software update, VS910ZVB, that came out at the end of April had a lot of fantastic updates that may result in the need to simply reload a little of your information. Try the steps at http://vz.to/ykQROO to make sure your software is as up-to-date as possible.
Please let me know if the trouble continues.
Thank you

My iPhone 4S had an update for general and I hit it and the screen had a line that filled up and then the phone shut off , apron restarting it shows you to connect to iTunes and when I did it told me to reset my phone which will erase all my photos and contact data . Is there any thing I can do at this point to back out of the upload or finish it without losing info?Keep in mind that at this point my phone will not turn on it only comes on and shows and tells me to plug into iTunes . Please help
There are many ways to back up photos and contacts on an iPhone:
Photos - copy them to your computer with a USB cable; the phone will appear in Windows or Mac as a digital camera.
Photos - Enable Photo Stream, which saves them to iCloud and syncs to your computers(s)
Contacts - set to sync to any contact app on your computer (e.g., Outlook, Address Book)
Contacts - Enable sync to iCloud. This is real time and will always be up to date
Everything on the phone (including contacts and photos) - Back up to iTunes on your computer
Everything on the phone - Back up to iCloud
All of these are described in the manual.
If you did not do ANY of these then the contents are already lost. -

How do I transfer, move, back up, upload or whatever the correct terminology is, my contacts and photos from my IPhone 5 to my Windows computer?
You can transfer photos in several different ways:
via USB cord: iOS: Import personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
via Photo Stream: iCloud: My Photo Stream FAQ
via a number of 3rd party apps such as http://www.photosync-app.com
You can transfer contacts via:
iCloud: https://www.apple.com/icloud/features/
iTunes sync: iTunes 11 for Windows: Sync contacts, calendars, and other info with iPod, iPhone, or iPad
and there may also be 3rd party apps.
Note that you can also backup to iCloud or to a computer, but that is only designed to be used for a restore back to the phone and you won't see usable photos or contacts on the computer. -
My brother synced an old device to my iphone 5 from itunes and it overwrited all my contacts and photos with everything
from the old itunes device. HELP.. how can I get back all my photos, contacts and apps? Would itunes have saved this
somehow when the device synced?
I'm devastated - we just moved from Boston to Cali and loosing all my info. tonight has crushed me! Any help is so
greatly appreciatedIf you've been using your phone as recommended in the User Guide, you've synched your contacts with a cloud service like Google, MobileMe or iCloud, or with a program on your computer like Address Book or Outlook.
Your contacts should still be safe in those programs and ready for resynching.
If, on the other hand, you've relied only on the iPhone to maintain your contacts, then you have just learned a valuable lesson, and this is why is is NOT recommended by Apple.
Likewise, it's recommended that photos get uploaded from your phone to your computer for safe keeping. Did you do this? -
