N97, Exchange and Activesync

Hi
I'm considering switching from a Blackberry to the N97.
The N97 supposedly supports Exchange access.
My mobile provider tells me that I could use Activesync using the access point ms.vodafone...
My Exchange provider supports both Blackberry and Activesync.
Since it would be the first time using an S60 phone I'm not sure whether push email
using the N97 Exchange functionality would give me the same ease of use as the Blackberry
(with regards to email at least).
Can anyone tell already whether Exchange, Activesync etc. is really working on the N97?
Thanks!

Hello.
I found a solution on this.
Under:
Menu
Settings
Connectivity
Destinations
Internet
- set a new Internet (under Destination)
here you can set a different priority than the first one,
By this it is  possible to set each e-mail account to choose the internet connections you want(wlan/mobilenet)

  • IOS and Activesync mail Exchange (the never ending story)

    Hi All,
And here we go again: even with the update 8.1.3 Mail with Exchange ActiveSync stopped working.
The problem occurs now in every update from 8.0 (and even with upgrades version 7.x). For each upgrade of IOS email and activesync stop working, not only in push mode but also in scheduled mode (eg every 15 minutes). The email does not update until I access mail app.
The Exchange Server does not change for years, and the solution must be provided on IOS from Apple and not from Microsoft Exchange Server since the problem occurs only on IOS and only after updates of iOS. This story is really frustrating. No Android or Microsoft Phone has never had this problem. I begin to think that changing phone is the only alternative.
I do not want to buy paid app to use the e-mail, a feature that should work perfectly with the default tools of a smartphone device from 729 EUR.

I posted this another another topic. Anyone have any clue?
Well, here's a new twist. I purchased the Academic Edition of Aperture 1.0 DIRECTLY from Apple and when the rebate was announced, I applied for it. A couple of weeks later I received a letter stating that my serial number "cannot be read, is incomplete, or was not recognized as a valid serial number". OK, my penmanship isn't the best, so I sent them one of the Aperture Software Coupons with one of the serial number stickers attached to it thinking that this would surely be sufficient proof of ownership. Today, I received the same letter again. I just got off the phone with their help desk and all they could tell me was that my serial number isn't eligible for the rebate with no reason why. When I spoke with the supervisor, they stated they don't have access to that information, only that it comes up as ineligible.
Did I miss something? Were there qualifications to the rebate that I overlooked? As a PC user trying to make the switch, this kind of customer service dosen't bode well.
(I understand that Apple doesn't allow the free exchange of information on these boards so the moderators will probably delete this post fairly quickly. If you have some insight, you can email me at davedotmelvinatgmaildotcom)
    Thanks,

  • Exchange 2010 and 2013, Coexisting "OWA" and "ActiveSync" 1 Public IP.

    Hello Everyone.
I find myself in a bit of a dilemma and in a desperate need for some well educated help.
Scenario: Server 1 (Small Business Server 2011 Standard) with Exchange 2010
Server 2 (Server 2012 Standard) with Exchange 2013
                    1 Static Public IP Address
This used to be one domain that split into two separate entities that are still occupying the same office space.
All port forwarding is currently pointing to the SBS and everything there is working properly. I setup a new receive connector on the SBS that is forwarding the mail for domain 2 to the "Exchange 2013" server and mail flow in and out is working
    100%.
The problem lies with OWA and ActiveSync.
I tried changing the SSL port in IIS on Server 2 from 443 to 1443 and forwarded those ports to server 2 from the router, then OWA works externally, but for some reason the clients on the local network can't connect anymore, so I had to drop that idea after
being unable to find the cause.
The only other thing I can think to try, is to setup HTTP redirection on the SBS IIS or adding the mail.domain2.com in the SBS DNS or something.
I have searched for hours but can't find anything specific to my scenario. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

    You need to use ARR.
    http://www.iis.net/downloads/microsoft/application-request-routing
It is essentially like a basic proxy service. So the SBS would receive an SSL connection for mail.domain2.com and instead of it failing it would be redirected internally to the second server.

  • Exchange 2013 and 2007 - Coexistence and ActiveSync

    Good morning all,
We're currently in the process of migrating our Exchange server from 2007 to 2013, and am experiencing a few problems. At the moment, OWA redirection works fine, but ActiveSync does not. At the moment the 2013 Server isn't public facing, it's internal until
all testing is complete. However despite being on the LAN, when an iPhone is configured to target the 2013 server, it isn't proxying to the 2007 CAS, but instead provides a vague error of being Unable to Verify account information. No mail is retrieved.
Has there been a step I've missed to allow this to work seamlessly?

Generally, both the internal and external Exchange 2007 ActiveSync URL should be pointing to the legacy namespace - legacy.yourdomain.com. If you've set correctly the internal name resolution (resolving the legacy namespace to the internal Exchange 2007
IP address), ActiveSync should be working fine.
Have you tried Android phones as well?
Alternatively, you can set the Exchange 2007 ActiveSync External and Internal URL to $NULL, forcing Exchange 2013 CAS to proxy all requests to the Exchange 2007 CAS. This way devices are not affected by a redirect.

  • IPhone and MS Exchange WITHOUT Activesync

A few months back I tried and tried to sync up my friends iphone with his works ms exchange. It wasn't my phone so I gave up.
I have since learned some more info about the server...is MS exchange 2003 and activesync is not enabled. Correct me if I'm wrong, but when you try to sync up your phone using the built in exchange utility, it requires activesync to be enabled? Because I entered the correct info for sure and I could not get it to work.
So is there anyway to access a 2003 exchange server without activesync?
I had this same problem on an android phone, I was getting the exact same results as the iphone. Then I downloaded a program that let you chose activesync or 2003 protocal and it works perfectly (obviously in chose 2003 protocol and not activesync).
I realize it won't be push email, and thats fine, 15 minute polling is fine by me. If the native iPhone utility can't do it, is there an app for this?

You can access an Exchange account as an IMAP account with the iPhone's mail client, but IMAP account access must be enabled at the Exchange server for your account.
In order to have over the air syncing for contacts and calendar events ActiveSync must be enabled at the Exchange server.

  • Users inbox blank in Outlook 2010 SP2 on all computers, but visible in OWA and Activesync

User uses Outlook 2010 SP2 and her inbox is blank. New profile, even new computer she's never logged into has the same issue. All mail is visible in her other folders in Outlook, in addition to in OWA and activesync clients. I've created a rule in OWA to
move all new mail that comes into her inbox into a new temporary folder in her mailbox, and that works as a temporary work around. outlook.exe /cleanviews and disabling all addins has no effect.
If I right click on the real inbox and click open in new window a message appears "cannot open the outlook window".
I thought maybe there was a corrupt message in her inbox so I moved everything from the last three weeks to a temporary folder through OWA, closed and reopened outlook on the client machine and same issue. The unread count is updating correctly on the broken
    mailbox however.
    Thoughts?

    Hi,
To narrow down this issue, I would like to confirm some information:
Whether this issue still happen when configuring the user's profile on other computers.
Running "outlook.exe /cleanviews" to reset views on the problematic computer has no effect.
    Workarround:
Try to run the /resetnavpane command:
    Close Outlook.
    Launch the Run dialog box.
Type Outlook.exe /resetnapane, then click OK or press
    Enter.
If this step did not solve the issue, please take the steps in the following link.

    Hi,
We can create allow lists, block lists, and quarantine lists specifying which mobile devices are allowed to access Exchange mailboxes. A mobile device that's blocked because of a device access setting won't be allowed to connect to the Exchange
server and will receive HTTP 403 Forbidden errors. For more information about how to manage mobile device, please refer to the following article.

  • Mail for Exchange and certificate authentication -...

Okey, it works on Windows Mobile browser starting 2003 and Blackberry browser since 2007.
It's not working on these fancy linuxes (moo-boo or moeba or what it's name?)- but well, what else you can expect from poorly tested code with no compatibility or standards in mind?
I wonder what stopping Symbian to proper support certificates standarts, while they finally manage to support ActiveSync specification. Lazy programmers?  Are they steal too much code from open source?
Nokia, your devices will never suceed, if you keep making ovi-style "features" instead of things people need to work better. We pay for you phones,  do you remember that?

Go to your outlook web access website and click on the lock and then view certificate. The details and then you can save it in DER format to your desktop.
    Then go to this site:
http://www.redelijkheid.com/symcaimport/ and insert through the browse button and then copy the link to your phone.
Then you should be able to download it
You can also go to your IIS default site on the exchange server and directory security and export your certificate under edit certificate.
I have tried everything now. I can download my certificate and the valicert from GoDaddy, but the Nokia phone is still saying "do you trust this certificate" every time the phone syncs.
Our firm have taken the E-phones away now and went over to windows mobile and all of them worked within 10 minutes without any errors.
The funny thing is that when you try to call nokia, they wont help you with Mail for Exchange, and it is there program
I know my GoDaddy certificate works on windows mobile phones, so It must be something with Mail for Exchange.
Every guy I talked to about symbian phones have told me they always gives problems with SSL. I am a bit **bleep**, but can conclude that Nokia is for the private consumer.
    Best Regards

  • Z10 with Exchange 2010 Activesync missing incoming messages

Z10 with Exchange 2010 Activesync won't download all messages, missing messages include messages sent to internal Exchange distribution groups and bulk email (I could live with this one, lol) Activesync works fine on iOS and android devices (100+ devices in my organization with no issues). Tried enabling secure IMAP on the exchange server, and with this config the messages are delivered, but the body of the same messages missing with the activesync setup have a [No body found] in the message body and are otherwise blank. Tried running the EAVT tool and it returns "Nothing was found for provided credentials" . My personal Gmail account works fine on the phone, tried loading the 10.1 Blackberry OS and had the same problem. Tried setting up the account multiple times, used both autodiscover and manual setup to no avail. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hey cyberayk,
Welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
Do these email messages get redirected to a different folder on the Exchange Server?  If yes, On the BlackBerry smartphone go to Settings > Accounts> Select the account> Edit Folder Settings, are these folders selected?

  • I have Exchange and Yahoo accounts on my iPhone 4. At least 1 email a day I send as a reply fails to leave my outbox of my Exchange account.

I have Exchange and Yahoo accounts on my iPhone 4. At least 1 email I send from out thru my Exchange account fails to send and it simply refuses to leave the outbox. The only guaranteed way of sending it is to change the sender to my yahoo account. Note that is ONLY occurs on replies to existing emails, never new emails.
It is only certain mails that fail. Even if I delete the mail and write another reply it will still fail.
Could it be content related? It happened on IOS4 & 5.
I've asked one of the staff in the Apple shop and he said he's seen this before but doesnt know the answer - not really helpful if you're trying to work off your iPhone :-(

    Thanks razmee209.
I would agree with you if I still couldnt send the reply by changing the sender to my yahoo account; but as I mentioned before - whenever the mail fails to send, I can ALWAYS send it by changing the sender to my yahoo account.
I agree that it must be something within the original mail, but why does it trigger a failure if I reply from my exchange account and not my yahoo yahoo account.
I can delete the Exchange account and re-add it, but it makes no difference. I've also rebooted the phone but again, no difference.

I set up my iCloud account on iPad with an exchange account and aol account.  I can see exchange and aol emails but not those from .me account or apple email.  I got it to show all 3 accounts on my iPhone with no problem.  Hat am I missing?

I'm having a similar problem, but I do have the key and is not working anyway.
My old pc was running on windows 7 and my new one is an apple running on Lion.
My phone is an Iphone IV and I can see all the bookmarks there.
In order to sync, what I did was click on the "I don't have the device with me", I entered the key that was provided and the process finish ok. It says congratulations, etc, etc.
But the bookmarks are not there, I tried merging data and replacing data on this computer options but is the same.
    Any suggestions?

  • The N97, Ovi, and some of my hatred.

This is what's pi$$es me most off at the moment. There's more, but I can't be arsed to mentally whip myself by reminding myself about it. But this should cover my main points of bloodraging fury.
The camera. Why is the production N97 equipped with a camera that would embarrass a prototype?
It drowns the entire left side in led light when the so called flash is used?
While I'm at it, why is there not a proper flash? If Sony bloody Ericsson can do it, so can Nokia.
And then there's the protective cover that isn't protective, but is in fact the freaking opposite of protective.
Why does my lens have scratches because of the cover? And it isn't just me either.
Try googling "n97 scratched camera" and see what results you get.
There are someone in Nokia who should go back to working in a boot factory.
There were no touch pen in the box the N97 came with. Which is just as good, because there's no place in the phone to store it. I tried to use it with a pen from a Nokia 5800, and surprise, surprise, it was a huge improvement. So therefore it could not be a part of the N97 package. If it's any good, the N97 couldn't have it. Just like a better placement of the camera leds such as on the N97 mini, not for the big N97.
Ovi suite. The old PC Suite might've been old, but newer isn't always better. There's several things about Ovi suite I that makes me want go to Finland only to slap Nokia programmers across the face with rancid salmons.
For instance, why, oh fcuking why, is there no bleeding obvious way of moving movies from the N97 to my computer like there was on PC Suite. It had a film strip icon, hooray!  The Ovi suite only want to synchronize all the images I have in "My Pictures" folder, even AFTER I have selected a different folder to synch with?
I do abso-fcuking-lutely not want to have all the **bleep** from My Pictures on my mobile phone.
I have even MOOOOVED all the images from the old My Pictures, to a different folder just because Ovi didn't want tolet go of the idea of putting all my old My Pictures images on the N97. And yeeeeeeeezzz.... I have restarted Ovi, but no good.
Restarted my computer, yup, still NFG.
Another thing that makes me truly furious. Playing music on the piece of $hit that I was stupid enough to buy without testing first (because all the previous Nokias I had were excellent mobiles at the times they were new).
I were under the obviously wrong impression that all I have to do to put some music to my retarded mobile was to just adding it by using Ovi. Surely I could play whatever tune I wanted once they were on my mobil, just like on the N95?
Could I heck. The tunes are undoubtedly on the mobile, the Ovi on a different computer sees them on the mobile, but I cannot access them from the mobile. As far as the crabby user interface on the N97 is concerned, there's just the sound files I made with the mobile itself on on there. Nothing else at all in the Music app.
Ovi doesn't do ANYTHING better for me than the old PC Suite did. The things that are allegedly improved by jamming Ovi in my virtual throat are not something I want anyway. Ovi looks gayer though, presumably to suck up to the Apple-drones.
Who by the way got a real nice piece of hardware in the iPhone. Just a shame about having to deal with Satans iTunes by going that route.
On the positive note, Maps is the saving grace of Nokia for me. Otherwise I'd enjoy throwing the N97 at a brick wall, or jumping on it, and urinate all over the remains. I hate this mobile with a passion, so I might go back to the N95 until the next flagship Nokia. And if it isn't at least as good as the competitors, I've bought my last Nokia after many models of Nokias. The user interface isn't a reason to stay with Nokia anymore, so why bother?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The biggest n97 alternative IMO is the Samsung OmniaPRO B7610 It runs on WinMo, but I like WinMo, so....
Anyway, I understand your gripe. The n97 was a bad unit. However regarding the new Nokia that would make you smile, I am not sure if this would do the trick but later this year Symbian^2 and Maemo 6 will be released

  • MacBook Pro Exchange and Repair Extension Programs

    Hi:
I have a MacBook Pro Early 2008, and I think my laptop problem is the Nvidia Card. My laptop doesn't start. I can't hear the chime at startup, but I can hear the DVD and the HD spinning, and the fans working. I phoned the nearest Apple mervice and they said me that it is imperative that my computer is running so they can perform the test that determines whether the problem of my computer is covered by the Exchange and Repair Extension Programs "or distorted video no video issues". I have told them that's impossible, because the  logic board defect causes a impossibility to boot the laptop.
Can anyone tell me if it's true that the Apple Service says to me? How they intend I start my laptop?
    Thanks in advance.
    (Sorry for my english)

Thanks a lot for your reply.
    But...
Why are you so sure that the Nvidia failure does not prevent the computer start-up. The laptop has worked flawlessly so far.
In some forums I read that the cause of the boot failure is just the defective nvidia board. First I had some screen flickering problems, and the latest  problems are screen blackouts, this seems that the boot failure is the last symptom of a defective board.
In any case, I find it's a kind of surreal nightmare that Apple launch a replacement program, and deny coverage for units that have been rendered useless because the problem that justifies the replacement program. Doesn't have Apple the serial numbers of the units that can be affected by a problem that Nvidia recognize?
    Anyway, thanks again
