N97 extend ring time

I have an N97 (unbranded) on O2. The ringing time seems to be set for 15 seconds, although I cannot find any way of changing this.
By the time I've managed to get my phone out of my pocket, and figure out how the unlock thing actually works and answer the call, the 15 seconds is up! I've not managed to answer a single call since I've got my N97!
Any clues on extending the ringing time?

Go to Menu>Settings>Call>Call divert>Voice calls>All voice calls>Activate>To voice mailbox, then you should be able to select a ringing time up to 30 seconds.
However, this setting is not in the phone itself, it sends a code to the network call servers which may in rare cases override your setting; but this normally works.

How do I extend ring time on calls?

Are you asking about how long before it goes to voicemail? If that is the question, then you need to contact your carrier. They are the ones that control that. It is not done at the phone level, that is carrier level settings. It is not based on rings, it is based on time. They may be able to extend it for you.

  • How to extend ringer time

I'm pretty sure the iPhone, like all phones, is set at a default ring time of 20 seconds. Is there any way on my own that I can manually extend the ring time to the maximum 30 seconds or do I have to call Apple customer service. If so what is the number I can call?

Here is what i know about the ringer time.
First type *#61#{SEND}. Your iPhone will show where your voicemail calls are being to sent to. Write down the number as for you will need later. Second type {STAR} {STAR} 61 {STAR}{the number you just wrote down}**30#{SEND}. When you get the confirmation dismiss it. Finally, check that your calls are still being forwarded to the correct number. Type *#61#{SEND} and verify its the same number as before.
There you have it, your now 30 second ringer.
Where you see {STAR} it means *, i couldnt get it to show it correctly.

How do you extend the ring time on a Nokia 6120

I don't know your model, but on some phones you can change the setting in the Call Divert menu, but only if the operator supports it.

  • Did the whole *61*1(VOICEMAIL NUMBER)*11*30# to get extended ring time and

Now when my phone goes to voicemail it is a busy signal instead of my voicemail. Anyone have any thoughts on how to correct this issue?
Below are the steps I fllowed...
It is NOT necessary to call CS to do this and the max time is NOT 15 seconds.
First Dial *#61# to see your voice mail number (this is the number that the phone fowards the call to when there is no answer) write it down including area code
Then dial 611(VOICEMAIL NUMBER)1130# then dial or send. There should be no spaces and make sure you enter the number correctly (ie) 61*13235552323*1130# then you should see a comfirmation.
This works only on at&t and T-mobile. The number 30 is time length you can set it shorter if you want but 30 is recommended max.

Not much to add: I would say that it is very good after a few costs, agree with etresoft
The trackpad issue may be gone after you replace the possibly bloating battery. Replace it.
When you replace it do a good vacuum of the insides, especially around the back hinge,
and IMHO you can ditch  SMC Fan Control: mac can take good care of itself without that.
Also I would remove Growl: Notifications is much better in the latest OSXs.
What does the PinItButton extension for you in Safari?
In  MacintoshHD->Library->InternetPlug-ins   delete the   AdobePDFViewer     plugin
and what does the Scorch plugin do for you?
In   MacintoshHD->Library->LaunchDaemons  delete the  ...adobe.switchboard...  file.
The Olympus software may not really function I guess, you should see if it has a Yosemite compatible update.
    The same for ValveSteam software.
I would take out the Amazon music app also.
    Restart.

  • How to extend ringing time before voicemail is activated?

I would like to setup the phone such that voicemail is not activated for 10 or 15 seconds, but I can't figure out how to do it. This was pretty easy to do on some previous phones I used.
Any ideas how to do this?
    Thank you for your time.

I contacted SingTel (Singapore Telecom) and they gave me a code that I had to "call" from the phone. Seems to work OK.
The bottom line is that you can't do it onboard the phone. As you guys said, you have to find out from the wireless provider.
    Thanks.

Updating my iPhone 5 software has shortened the number of rings before the answer phone kicks in, how do I extend the time delay?

If the codes Tanzim mentioned don't work, just call your carrier and ask them to extend your time until voicemail picks up, to 30 seconds. They do this routinely.

  • How do I extend the ring time before answering the phone

I want to extend the ring time on my iPhone as it currently only rings for 5 seconds and then goes to message.

  • Extending Hunt Pilot ring timer

I have used the "Maximum Hunt Timer" option to attempt to extend the ring time for a set of phones in a broadcast hunt pilot. However irrespective of the time I set it will not ring the phones more than about 3 times. In addition the field does not allow me to set the value to more than 3 digits. The documentation states that the valid range foes from 1 to 3600 seconds. Is there some other parameter that I need to modify to allow the phones to ring longer than they currently are? In addition is it necessary to provide an outside dial tone (thats the default option)?

HP used to ring several phones at a branch location.

Thanks a lot this fixed my proble. I adjusted that timer and the phones rang accordingly.

  • Extending the ring time on nokia 6120

Can anyone please help with the code or how to change the length of the ring time on nokia 6120

As others have pointed out, this is a newtork feature.
The GSM standard allows for ring times from 5 to 30 seconds in 5 second increments. You can set it by going into your phone's call divert settings, more precisely the "call divert if no answer" setting. Set it to divert to voicemail, and you will be asked to select a delay from 5 to 30 seconds. Once you've done that, the phone sends a command to your network telling it to wait however many seconds before shunting inbound calls to voicemail.
Note that some networks override the setting you give here. If this is the case here you'll need to phone your operator and ask them if there's anything they can do.

  • Extend the time before voicemail picks up

How can I set the number of rings on my phone before voicemail picks up?  The default of 20 seconds is too short.  I would like to extend the time to 30 seconds.  How can I do this?

It's set by the system at roughly 30 seconds; sometimes using a different ringtone helps.

This (time to voicemail) is not a BlackBerry feature but is controlled by your mobile provider.
And not a feature request (I'll ask a moderator to move this post).
As a norm, most all carriers have a default 15 seconds of ringtime until the voicemail picks up. That can be extended to 30 seconds.
If you do need additional ring time before voicemail, The simplest method is to call your carrier and request a longer ring time, up to 30 seconds.
    There is another method:
Dial *#61# from your phone. ...
You should see a new screen that displays a bunch of information about what's getting forwarded. ...
Now, dial **61*+11234567890*11*XX# and hit Send, where 11234567890 is the number that you found in step two and XX is the number of seconds you want to wait until voicemail picks up.

How can I set up mhy Airport Express to extend my Time Capsule wifi wirelessly
Assuming that you have the model A1264 or A1392 version of the Express, it must be located where it can receive a strong wireless signal from the Time Capsule to be able to extend it correctly.
A good general location would be a point that is about half way between the Time Capsule and other area that needs more wireless coverage.
You will use AirPort Utility on your computer to configure the Express. An iPhone or iPad could be used as well.
We can provide more help....if you need it....but we'll need to know what version of AirPort Utility that you are using on your computer....or whether you want to use an iPhone or iPad to setup the Express.

  • Using Airport Express to Extend a Time Capsule Network: Results (*Long*)

Thought I would share my recent (2 hours ago) experience with setting up an Airport Express to Extend a Time Capsule 802.11N 5Ghz Network. Basically I just followed the directions in the Apple Airport Utility, using the "Extend a Wireless Network" setting:
Time Capsule (TC) 802.11N 5Ghz: In computer room
Linksys (LNK) 802.11g configured as dual network router with TC, also in computer room.
Airport Express (AE): In living room, about 50' away, several old plaster walls in between.
    According to iStumblr:
    1) I get an 80% signal from my TC when my MacBook is practically sitting on top of it.
    2) I get an 88% signal from my Linksys 802.11g sitting next to the TC
    3) I get 35% signal from my TC when my MacBook is in the living room. This is NOT enough signal, for some reason, to maintain a decent internet connection.
    4) I get a 46% signal from my LNK from the same location. This IS enough signal to connect to the network.
    5) With the AE configured as "Extend a Wireless Network" to the TC, and placed in the living room (again, about 50' from the TC base station), I get a 55% signal from the AE (which shows up as the same name as the TC network, for obvious reasons) Again, enough signal to connect to the network.
I did some internet speed tests using SpeedTest (take these with a grain of salt, of course)
    1) From computer room over TC: 18Mb/s~22Mb/s average over 2 days of testing
    2) From computer room over LNK: 18Mb/s~22mb/s average over 2 days of testing
    3) From living room over AE(extended network from TC): 5~7Mb/s average in the last 2 hours
    4) From living room over LNK: 12~14Mb/s average over 2 days of testing
    Preliminary conclusions:
    1) Setting up an extended network is pretty straightforward, and works without issue.
    2) My 802.11g network with my old Linksys is far superior than my new extended 802.11N 5Ghz network, at least for internet connection speed.
    3) I feel a bit irritated buying this AE now to extend my 802.11N network, if its not going to give me any advantages over my ancient 802.11g network
    4) File transfers may still be better over the 802.11N-I will test that out at some point.
    5) I have not tried WDS instead of "Extend a Wireless Network"-not sure what the benefits would be.
    Computer Notes:
    MacBook Aluminum-MB(Al) 2.0 C2D (802.11n)
finds 8 wireless networks in my neighborhood (3 of them are mine)
    MacBook White-MB(Wh) 1.83 CD (802.11g only)
finds 10 wireless networks in my neighborhood (3 of them are mine)
Oddly, the signal strength of my networks isn't that different between the two computers-between 2% and 5%, even though it can't see as many networks. The 2 networks the MB(Wh) CAN see are at around 21% and 25% signal-not sure why the MB(Al) can't see them at all.

Your biggest mistake is confusing signal strength with signal quality. The signal indicator indicates strength and nothing else. You need to be using iStumblr to look at SNR (Signal to noise ratio).
