N97 Facebook App Problem
Hello, i just purchased a Nokia N97 and the Facebook Application on the front screen does not work. It keeps saying "incorrect signature".
I can log into Facebook through the web, but would much prefer to use the phone app.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
You can get Facebook app from Ovi Store , would also suggest visiting Nokia Beta Labs and trying Nokia Social messaging Beta. Works well and gives you the option to use Twitter as well, it has a good widget, and more functionality than the original FB widget.

I'm currently having problems with my n97 facebook widget. Whenever I try to connect to it it keeps saying "Connection not availiable". I've been browsing the internet using my brother's wireless network for the first time then I've disabled it so I can use my normal vodafone internet and now my facebook widget won't work. I am a huge Nokia fan - and have even defended the N97 when it comes to iPhone users bashing it... but you would not believe on how disappointed I am Nokia have done this.
I too did a soft reset (after serious issues like contacts folder locking up and not allowing me to even access it and various other bugs) and now have lost Facebook, Accuweather etc. The phone is being majorly sold on the facebook application - being dubbed 'The Facebook Phone' - and the truth is it obviously cannot be anymore further than that...
After all... Facebook isn't even available in the Ovi Store for it... so how can it be a Facebook Phone?
Wish someone from Nokia would explain PROPERLY what the hell is going on!?
I cannot believe I'm about to say this (after owning several N-Series phones... 73, 93, 95, 95-2)... but maybe I should of got an iPhone?

N97 facebook app NEWS FEED and WALL display issue
I've noticed a few people posting on Facebook fan pages for Nokia N97 orig and mini that the NEWS FEED and WALL pages are blank, yet you can login and view other pages such as FRIENDS, PHOTOS and INBOX.
When refreshing NEWS FEED and WALL, the page refreshes with no error, but does not display anything.
I changed all my facebook privacy settings to defaults in case that was the problem, but no luck. Also confirmed that the NOKIA application was allowed to access information in my facebook account.
Any suggestions?
ThanksI haven't used the standard Facebook app for over a year ! Try Nokia Social Messaging from beta labs (as mentioned) also Socially really good as an alternative, I use both.

I am on the currently latest firmware available, I have all my applications on my F: drive to ensure I have memory available for the phone to use, but increasingly I am finding more and more faults and errors with the facebook application to the point where it has become unusable.
I have repeatedly uninstalled and reinstalled, removed from home screen etc, nothing has worked. The application was working perfectly to begin with, now I get nothing but parse errors and cannot do anything on the application.
Does anyone know of a work around (see troubleshooting already attempted) or an update to this app that will be released to deal with these issues, or are we wasting our time attempting to use something so full of bugs?Google it. There are various Facebook Apps for the N97/5800 out there. The Widget itself and the DCF file, including the one from the OVI Store somehow does not work. There was one post somewhere which offered the SIS version. Basically, it is an installer version that installs (rather re-installs) after you uninstall the current one... the Facebook Widget.
This widget worked for me. All the others including the one direct from OVI did not work. -
Facebook App - Problems with Newsfeed & Missing Notifications/Messages
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP. I continue to have two frustrating problems with my Facebook for Blackberry app that I installed directly via RIM's website:
1. I am always missing notifications & messages on my blackberry. Sometimes they come through and other times they do not. Right now my blackberry said I had no new notifications or messages, but when I logged onto my Facebook account on my PC it showed I had 2 new messages. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Facebook app three different times (each time also removing & reinstalling my battery). After doing this, it seems to work consistently for a short while (maybe a week or two) and then starts missing notifications & messages all over again. This is incredibly unreliable and frustrating - RIM really needs to fix this.
2. My second problem is that on my blackberry Facebook app I continue to see posts from apps that my friends interact with in my newsfeed that I have blocked on my main Facebook page (i.e. games like Farmville, Hidden Chronicles, various horoscope apps, etc). If I have blocked them on my regular Facebook account and they do not show up in my newsfeed when I'm logged into Facebook on a computer, why am I seeing them on my newsfeed on my blackberry? Again, this is a very annoying problem and really needs to be fixed.
I hope someone in the forum can help me wth these issues.
These two problems areI haven't tried the older version of skype yet. But I did try one thing that worked, it's just not ideal. Basically I set up a new account through skype and then logged in through that account. Everything worked perfectly fine. I could send and receive messages and everything updated like it was supposed to. Altough I obviously had to readd all my contacts and group chats, which was a pain. I logged out of that account and logged back into my original one and it was still having the same problems. I have absolutely no idea why a new account will work fine but my old account won't. But if you want to keep the updated version of skype and don't mind all of the hassle of making a new account, that's one sort of solution.

For how long have you been having this issue with the Facebook app, and what Nokia phone do you have? What connection are you using when accessing Facebook? Please make sure you have a good signal if using data connection, or you can also use Wi-Fi; if your phone supports that type of connection. -
I have an iPhone 5 on the latest update.
The last few days my Facebook app has been acting strangely. Crashing at random times, doubling up on posts by me and others on the feed, and giving me "Network Error" over and over while my network is fine.
A few others I know (but not all) are having these same issues and its not showing signs of slowing down anytime soon.
I have updated the phone, removed and reinstalled the app, and reset the phone without any fix.
Ideas?Contact the app developer or look at their support site to resolve the issue.

I am having a problem with my facebook widget on my n97. There are pictures that when I click on, a big red X shows on my screen. I then try the web based version on the n97 and the pictures load right up no problem.
I have removed and reinstalled the widget to no help.
It happens to most pictures, but not all.
Any ideas? It is really annoying to want to see the pictures in a gallery that have been posted and not be able to flip through them.

Removed the app, the installer, upgraded to v20, went into the OVI store and downloaded it again.
You will note in the OVI store there are exactly three (3) Facebook applications. Why? I don't know, someone dropped the ball.
Search 'facebook' and choose the first one 'Facebook for Nokia'.
Since I did that I no longer see the red X.

I'm having trouble with my Facebook account not updating. It ends up giving me a network error. I've tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it. It didn't work. All the updates have been done to my app. What can I do?
Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

Facebook app makes music quiet?
I want to know if this happens to anyone else because my God it is the most annoying thing ever. I have iPhone 6. A lot of the time while playing music, when I have the Facebook app open in the background, my music plays quieter than it should. When I found this out the first time, I had my volume at about 75% which is my typical music listening volume, and I noticed it was softer than normal and definitely wasn't 75%. So I though that maybe an app was interfering with it, so I started closing apps one by one, you know with the double-click home then swipe up thing, and after closing Facebook, the music started playing its normal volume. Sometimes it doesn't do this, but most of the time it does. And sometimes, the music will be playing normal volume, then all of a sudden it randomly gets softer. So I know that I have to close the Facebook app in the background again... Very annoying. I am not sure if this is an iOS problem or Facebook app problem. I just want it to stop. Anyone know anything about this?
IIce had this same problem with me iPhone 5s starting like 5 months ago. None of my other friends or family have the same problem and thoight I was crazy trying to explain it until I showed them. I got an iPhone 6 plus 64 gb in the beginning of February and the problem still happens. I have to force close the fscebook app and it works at full sound again. Or when Facebook is running in the back ground.
i Have also noticed when I watch videos on Facebook that if I accidently close the video and open it again the sound is really quiet. If I go to start the video over the sound will play at normal volume until it gets to the exact moment I accidently close it then the volume gets quiet again. Super frustrating and annoying. Please let me know if you find a solution.
SOmetimes i I wonder if another app I have downloade makes the vplume tweak out or there is some little dumb setting I have somewhere that makes it happen -
N97 - Reinstall Facebook App without wiping phone ...
There are more and more bad reviews everyday coming from N97 users regarding the OVI facebook app (besides the fact that it is really outdated). I have read about users wiping there phone to reinstall it, but there is an easier way.
When I tried to go into OVI to download the facebook app the download button was a dark gray. It's isn't OVI....this time...... It is actually because it's still on your phone. I don't know if this will help everyone, but I got my widget back.
Someone please post this in the review section of the Facebook app on the OVI store. I can't because I wasted my one and only review on bad mouthing OVI. I know a lot of people are looking for this fix and had the same problem as I did.
1. Go to Settings
2. Application Manager
3. Installed Apps
4. Scroll down to 'Facebook Installer' and hit 'Options' and then 'Uninstall'
5. Once it's cleared from the phone you can go back to the OVI store and finally be able download and install once again.
Facebook app hasn't changed at all, but it's back for anyone that has complained about it not being there. There are still no wall posts for this app and no chat which a lot of people are looking for. Problem scrolling with facebook app comments
I just upgraded to the latest facebook app and i thank u for being able to like comments. However now I have a problem. When the comment is very long, I cannot scroll down and it goes to the next comment so i cannot see the bottom half of the comment outside the screen below. I tried to scroll but it keeps jumping to next comment so i cannot see. Can u pls help to rectify this bug or how do I solve it pls? Pls reply asap. Tks.

Try adjusting your Trackpad sensitivity, reduce it to 50 or 60 and give a Battery pull Restart i;e. while device is Powered On remove the Battery wait for a min. then reinsert it back wait till the device Reboots. Perform this two Tricks then I don't think you will have problem in this matter.

I saw one post where a user said dust got inside the small microphone hole. Using a vacuum cleaner removed the dust and restored the audio.

As of 3/30/13, when logging off of Facebook using the Facebook App, it will not log me out. It is now permanently keeping me logged in. No problem logging off of Facebook when I do not use the App. Is there anyone that can tell me why this is happening and what I need to do to Logout of Facebook. I like using the App for Facebook but I also want to be able to log off, I do not like to stay logged in. Is there something different with the latest Apple software I downloaded a couple of weeks ago, IOS 6.1.3?
it also could be something different, if you try google hangounts. change password and log out it still recieves notifications. its how apples handles the "channel" notification system for apps that recieve notifications or do backroung sync, and im sure at some point that security hole will be a hijack point. i think its called XO auth. and is why it can maintain session even after an apperant logout
if you go to the app and it shows you have logged out but are still recieving notifications then that is evidence of the bug.
also look and find the option for "keep me logged in" i remember in the past that would allow a autologin after logout. also if the app does NOT save the logout status correctly in its "memory" the above refereced system will auto login you with the XO app authentication.
if there really is no keep me logged in option. then what crh24 said, they designed it delibertly to keep you logged in. though i never remember a problem on my ios 6,. are you on ios 7, bunny hop?
