N97 freezing up - unable to access file manager/co...

I don't know if anyone can help me ... My n97 was working fine uptil yesterday! however, this morning it kept getting stuck e.g. not able to see the photos, accessing apps, or file manager. Now even the four contacts I have on my home screen aren't showing ... or rather one isn't the other three are horribly blurred images!
I've tried giving a hard reset which it did but it's still not working. I'm trying to uninstall some apps I don't need but it freezes up every single time. When I try to access file manager it gets stuck showing "opening". I can't access my messages because it freezes.
I've got a feeling its something to do with the phone memory. I've recently updated to the new firmware version 11 ... however I've found out it's gotten slower!
Please can someone help me ... I'm going crazy I simply can't use my fone!

Can anyone help????
I purchased a Nokia N97 approx 6 weeks ago, I am now up to handset number 4 and am about to take it back AGAIN!!!
I am continuously having problems with the phone freezing, black/blue screens, "unable to use/access functions" coming up on screen, when switching off phone it goes through all the applications I have had opened before it turns off, just to name a few.
These are just a few issues that I have been having and continue to have with the handsets. I love using the N97 and am quite happy to keep using it, but am starting to think it is not a reliable phone at all and unfortunately I signed up to a 2 year contract.
I have gone online on numerous occasions and checked for software updates and nothing comes up on my phone, so I assume that the phone has the latest software. If anyone has any solutions to my problems can you please let me know as I am not gettig any help from Nokia or my service provider.
Thank you

  • Unable to access Skype Manager

    I've been unable to access Skype Manager for 8 days now.  My account works fine to log in regularly via the skyep app (to make calls, chat, etc), and I can even login to the skype site to change settings for that account.  I just can't get into the Skype Manager.  When I do, I see an error message (screenshot below) either after I'm prompted for my login credentials, or immediately upon clicking the Skype Manager link if I'm already logged in.
    When I chat or email Skype support, they either claim that it's working fine, or they say that a "specialized department" (they always refuse to name the department when I ask) will take care of it and email me.  The email invariably arrive a couple of days later telling me that everything is working fine, and if for some reason it's still not working, I should contact Skype chat support.
    I tried reaching out to Claudius at @SkypeSupport via twitter and all I got back from him were these two non-specific and not-helpful tweets:
    @mdavep I just successfully logged onmanager.skype.com in using IE9. Which browser are you using and which error do you see? ^CH
    (when I answered his question he did not reply)
    -and-
    @mdavep Which page are you trying to login? Your web account page is here:skype.com/go/myaccount ^CH
    (when I answered his question he did not reply)
    My business is suffering as a result of these problems, as I am unable to reassign phone numbers to my sales teams and make changes to my tracked numbers for my ad campaigns.  I'm probably losing about $250-$500 per day that this is not working.

    We've identified a login problem with Skype Manager and are working to resolve it as quickly as possible.
    Sorry for the inconvenience (and confusion caused by my follow up tweet).
    Unfortunately I can't share an ETA for the fix yet.

  • Unable to access files with spaces in the path

    Hi all, I am accessing files which reside on the server using a java applet.
    The typical path of a file could be:
    http://192.168.0.2/agat/data/AF190701 0003.agt
    (not the space in the filename).
    When I try to open this file using a URL object:
    URL file = new URL(filename);
    BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(file.openStream()));
    I get exception 400 ( I think) whihc I assume is file cant be found.
    However when I rename the file (to get rid of that space) and also change the filename variable to suit. The file is opened as expected.
    What should I do to make the applet able to open paths with spaces? Or is this just not possible.
    I did try including quotes with the special characte precessor:
    filename = "/"http://192.168.0.2/agat/data/AF190701 0003.agt/""
    But this didnt work either, please could someone tell what I need.
    Thanks.

    Thanks guys, although before I got your replies I did the following - it seems to work, but shall try your suggestions.
    while (file.lastIndexOf(" ") >0)
    String temp;
    int num = file.lastIndexOf(" ");
    temp = file.substring(0, num) + "%20" + file.substring(num+1, file.length());
    file = temp;

  • Windows clients unable to access File Sharing since upgrading to Mavericks Server

    This summer, I have been tasked to upgrade all the Macs on campus to Mavericks.  Including upgrading to Server 3.1.2.  Previously, we had an Xserve that ran 10.6.8 Server and two Mac mini servers that ran 10.8 Servers.  We have a new Mac mini to replace the Xserve and, initially, everything was pretty smooth.  I built the server from scratch, with the intention of using the 10.6.8 server as reference, only adapting to Profile Manager, instead of using Workgroup Manager.
    The only problem I had when I started was that I couldn't get Active Directory to create home folders on my Mac Server "NetUsers" volume when adding a Home Folder path.  After playing around with it, I completely hosed the Server and decided to start over.  Now, after a clean install, I can't get any Windows users to connect to the share on the Mac Server.  It declares: "\\MacServer is not accessible.  You might not have permission to use this network resource.  Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.  Account restrictions are preventing this user from signing in.  For example: blank passwords aren't allowed, sign-in times are limited, or a policy restriction has been enforced."  What's more (that I may not have noticed two weeks ago or it just started, I don't know), the 10.8 server that I upgraded to 10.9 also is not accessible and gives the same error.  However, I can access all these file shares from Macs using either smb or afp.
    I'm suspicious that this issue is related to SMB1 vs. SMB2 that was implemented differently in Mavericks.
    Please, any help on this would be a life-saver.  School starts too soon and I need this running on day one!!!

    Had the same issue and spent 4 solid days tracking it down (looking in all the wrong places.)
    For us, it turned out to be a problem in DHCP services configuration.
    For the subnet under the WINS tab, the NetBIOS Scope had a '1' inserted into the field. Apple's tag when hovering the mouse over the field indicated a domain be insterted.
    This prevented the Windows XP machines from successfully registering with SAMBA. Once the field was blanked out and saved, the (one machine) needing to be joined found the PDC and successfully bound to the directory.
    Blank out the NetBIOS Scope field in DHCP (assuming a simple LAN environment) and you may be in good shape.

  • Unable to access files on Windows 7 computer from Windows 8.1 computer

    I have a Windows 7 desktop and a Windows 8.1 laptop.  Both connect wirelessly to the internet via my Home Hub.  Because the desktop is my main repository of documents / pictures etc. I want to be able to access them from the laptop, but despite
    spending ages surfing for assistance I can't manage to do this.
    At this stage I'll cheerfully confess to being semi-PC-illiterate and totally confused about Network File Sharing, Homegroups and Workgroups!
    One fundamental problem seems to be this - I can ping the laptop from the desktop but not vice-versa.  That said, if I run Explorer on the desktop and click on Network, it displays both machines (and the hub).  If I run Explorer on the laptop and
    click on Network, it displays the laptop and the hub, but
    not the desktop.
    I'd be grateful if some kind reader could patiently suggest how I could diagnose and fix the problem!
    Many thanks in anticipation.

    Hi,
    We haven't heard from you for several days, Would you mind letting me know the result of the suggestions? If you need further assistance, feel free to let me know. I will be more than happy to be of assistance.
    Please understand that Network discovery is a network setting that affects whether your computer can find other computers and devices on the network and whether other computers on the network can find your computer.

  • Unable to access nested managed bean property in JSF 1.2.9

    In an old version of JSF, namely 1.2-b20-FCS from April/21/2006, I could access nested properties of a managed bean. So I had a managed bean OuterBean, and in JSF I could write
    <h:inputText value="#{outerBean.innerBean1.propertyA"/>
    The Java class OuterBean has a member function
    InnerBean OuterBean.getInnerBean1();
    That is, there is a function getInnerBean1() taking no arguments, and it returns something which in my example above is the class InnerBean.
    Class InnerBean has a member function getPropertyA().
    But in the latest JSF from July/17/2008, this nested stuff is not working.
    Simple access like #{outerBean.propertyA} works, but nested access like #{outerBean.innerBean.propertyA} does not.

  • Unable to access files on 1TB TC

    Hey all,
    I posted a question here ages ago regarding the access of my files on a TC. I was advised to remove the disk from the TC and mount it into a HDD holder connected to my mac via USB which would remove any network issues. I have done that and I still can't access my files either on my MBP running Mavericks or my iMac running Yosemite; when I select finder / airport / shareroot then try to select a file it crashes finder and finder won't appear unless I switch the HDD holder off.
    I am close to smashing the f$@k out of this thing via a heavy hammer so anybody's amazing advise is much needed right now. I am not going to guess the problem here but when I initially got the time capsule it was initially set up on Snow Leopard or Snow Lion? Since doing updates it has gone like it is now.
    I have run the airport partition through disk utility and it did fix a problem but I still can't access the files, any ideas please?
    Thank You

    Can you please point to the that original discussion so I can see all the background, otherwise we are just going to cover the same ground again.
    To crash finder it has to be corrupted.. disk utility cannot fix file corruptions.. it can fix some disk issues or permissions problems.. but it cannot fix a a major corruption. I do not remember if you were trying to extract files from a TM backup but if the disk and sparsebundle do verify then it should be possible to recover.. if it fails then it is near impossible.. TM backup does not store the files in original format so extracting them is well neigh impossible.
    It is also possible you simply chose the wrong kind of USB holder.. that would be unusual but possible.. small disks are usually not a problem.
    In the end you will need to take it to a data recovery centre.. and it is uber expensive to recover files. It is better to download a recovery utility.. eg Data Rescue 3 which as a working demo and see if it can find and recover files without crashing .. if so pays your $100 and it can do the job.

    Neither of those are true. Creating the FilePermission object gives you something about which you can ask if it's permitted or not. And calling the checkPermission method asks that question.
    To grant the permission to read that file, you must do that via the policy file. Java code can't grant itself any permissions (for obvious reasons).

  • Unable to access files on a Windows Server

    I just setup multiple iMacs (Mid 2012 model, OS X 10.8.5). When these iMacs access a Windows server (via smb) the first few folders/directories take 5-10 seconds to load depending on bandwidth. By the time I get 3-4 folders in, neither myself nor the other users of these computers are able to view files.
    I have no problems viewing any of the files on a Windows PC. I get instant response times.
    I also have users saying certain folders are randomly disapearing. I know they aren't being deleted, and I can see the folders on a Windows computer just fine.

    Hello, Welcome to discussions.
    I am sorry not much anyone here can do to assist. As 64 bit of Windows XP is not supported with iTunes. The best we can do is provide some articles that are used with normal XP in hopes that it will work again.
    You may wish to update the iPod Touch on a machine that is supported with iTunes. At least then the update may apply. From there you could reconnect and Sync iPod Touch.

  • Unable to access files containing special characters (accents) on a SMB share

    I can't access some files on a SMB share.
    Those files have one thing in common, that is they contain accented characters (àèéìòù).
    I can't access them from finder, terminal, or other softwares.
    It works fine when accessing them from a Windows 7 client.
    How can I fix this issue?
    Is there some SMB option to specify the UTF8 encoding?
    In addition, when I create a file with such characters from my mac, the special character shows as ?? on a non-mac client.

    it turns out I had way more filenames with accented letters that worked well with MacOS X.
    the difference is subtle: those OS X didn't like were like a "composition" of two character (sorry, I don't know the encoding details), that is a vowel and a unicode special character that modifies the previous char adding an accent.
    I discovered this while renaming the files from a Windows client, by placing the cursor after "é" in "perché" and hitting backspace, it turned into "perche", and hitting backspace again deleted the "e", turning into "perch".
    so I fixed those few invalid filenames.
