N97 Issues - Nokia please read and address

Hi All,
I am a massive Nokia Advocate and have been buying and using the latest Nokia since the 2110e back in 1996.
6 Weeks ago I purchased the 2 x n97s for my partner and I and I feel that Nokia has let its loyal customers down badly.
I can get over all the small software related issues but when a phone can not perform the fundamental day in day out tasks it is a serious problem.
Does anyone else have these same problems:
1 - Microphone is terrible when on speakerphone. Person on the other line strugggles to hear you.
2 - Phone does not always connect to bluetooth car kits. Both Nokia CK-7W and Honda Genuine Bluetooth.
3 - Phone reception is on average 2 bars lower than most other phones.
4 - Phone is slow and buggish compared to it's major competitors
5 - GPS (Nokia Maps 3.1) goes in and out of satellite lock every few minutes and often freezes, making it impossible to navigate.
6 - Nokia MMS take an extra ordinary time to send as compared with the n95.
There are more issues, but these are the main ones.
I understand most of these can and will be fixed with software updates, but it appears that some issues could very well be hardare related (eg microphone) and if this is the case Nokia has a real battle on their hands.
Please Nokia, get this right as soon as possible, before your loyal customers and advocates have no choice and are forced to desert you!

Nokia Pdf Reader And Word! What should be included...

Adobe Reader and Word are nice application but still i feel a magnifying reading option could have done better job including zooming option and need smooth scrolling not a jerky one. Nokia Beta labs developer should look forward to introduce some application like this that works like more convenient.

Sportstracker - Nokia please read!

I was on the sportstracker site a few days ago and wanted to post a comment on a users track. When I hit the Submit button, I received an error and was asked to send an email to: [email protected] I did this, but 24hrs later received an email back saying the message had been delayed and it would try for a further 24 hours. Another day went past and then I received another email saying:
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

i have blocked and reported the user i just hope the threats arent followed through with and that they just give up.

Very Large Spacing Issue In Both Mail And Address Book!!

Hello,
I need your help to resolve this problem. Initially I had a problem with garbled font in my Mail application. I used FontNuke in an attempt to resolve the problem. The result of using FontNuke was that the font was un-garbled but now I have very large spacing in the Mail and Address Book applications. Also the circles on the left side of the Mail application (that normally indicate the number of unread messages you have) are also very large!! the same thing is happens with the red star on the Mail icon that indicates the number of unread messages you have.
I would really appreciate any help that you can provide!

Thanks for following up so quickly. I took your advice and checked my fonts. I opened Font book and got rid of all the "duplicate" fonts and made sure that I had all of the required fonts. I then rebooted and when I went back to Mail and the Address Book, I still had the same problem. There are still very large spaces in my email both in the header and body. The circle to the left that indicates how many un-read email you have is still very large. It is over sized. I wish there was a way I could show you a screen capture so you can see what exactly what I'm referring to.
Obviously there is something that I'm missing, but I just don't know what it is. I would greatly appreciate any help that you (or anyone else) can provide!

I work for a company of a 1000 people and the owners bought everyone an ipod.
the problem is that my boss wants me to record each persons serial number to their ipod and print it out for his records.
i know that the serial number is on the back of the unit but that would take to long.
I also know that when its plugged into the ipod updater program the serial number also shows.
I would like to know if someone can build me a script that would grab the serial number to each ipod i plug in to the updater (maybe bash script, grab from string) copy it to the clip board and paste it to a text edit document. ohh and also a dialog box so i can write the persons name down. and if that can be added to the document as well.

If you still have the boxes handy, check to see if the S/N is printed on with a barcode. If so you can just zap those all in with a reader and be done with it in minutes.
Otherwise, to fish that string out of Updater first you must launch Apps/AppleScript/AppleScript Utility.app and check Enable GUI Scripting (enter an admin pass), then you can run this script…

I can't import movies on my iPod or even get it to show up on iTunes please help and respond if you know how to fix this problem.

you may need to convert the videos to a format appropriate for the ipod to see them .which are .mov or .mp4 video files. to do this you will ened to convert the videos using a 3rd party software that is not suported by apple. windows users have had either trouble or success using this software.

Syncing issues with 3GS ical and address book

I have been using Entrourage 2008 with success for a good few months - had a few issues to start with but thought I'd cracked it! However, I have now found that when I syn my 3gs I have to ensure that I tick replace information in the itunes sync before I sync. If I don't then I get hundreds upon hundreds of duplicate entries in calendar and .. any new contact details entered onto the iphone are wiped out this way - so how can I sync with combining the information without bringing back duplicates to the calender. Please help! Driving me batty!

The other thing I have a problem with is iCal. Even though I have successfully synced the iphone with iCal - there is 'nothing' in the iCal calendar at all!! But it all shows exactly right on the iphone!! It appears to be drawing the sync via iCal taking it from Entrouage - must be! .. there are no entries at all in iCal and only one Calendar called Entrougage. Completely confused!! Thought Google Calendar may be of better help so I have just tried that and can't import directly from Entrouage only from iCal and of course it tells me that there is nothing in iCal... Uuummm ????

Serial Number issue. (Please Read)

After my logic board has been replaced while traveling around the world,
I found out that when I tried to check the serial number in "About this Mac",
it shows "SystemSeumb"...
Is there a way to fix this issue? or I have to bring it in to have a check?
*I did reformat the whole system yesteryday, but still no sign of fix"

Shure it affects warranty. Since Apple keeps a registered serial for your Macbook in their DB for warranty purposes (which can be set to the time of purchase), you aren't required to keep a receipt.
But because the notebook now has no serial number, they won't be able to tell if it is still under warranty according to their records. In fact, they won't even be able to tell who's notebook it is (unless you produce the work order).
So now you have to keep the work order to show that an Apple tech replaced the logic board and failed to imprint the serial on it. What if you don't have that piece of paper? How are they to discern if it is the correct notebook?
Even if you do have the paper, can't you just bring in any notebook that is not even yours so long as it doesn't have a serial number? You don't see the problems that may arise when techs don't fully do their jobs?

No luck with printer recognition with airpot express, please read and help

I have 3 macs and 1 pc running vista, my 3 macs print perfectly through airpot express. I installed the airport cd on my pc, but i cant print, Im no good with windows, i was wondering if you could walk me through the process.
I already clicked on add a printer but it wont find my printer, and my printer is connected to my airport express and its on, so, i dont get why it wont recognize it or why doesnt it work
please help

After you click on "Add a Printer", do you select "Add a Network, Wireless, or Bluetooth Printer"?
If that doesn't work, there should be a way to connect by specifying the IP address of your AirPort Express.

Spinning wheel... Please read and help!

I know people have posted questions about this but I haven't seen an answer for my exact question which is: is there anyway to get my spinning wheel to go away out of safari without shutting down safari completely? I have a nursing final open in safari that I've attempted to take literally atleast ten times and this spinning wheel keeps coming up when I have a few questions left. I'm exhausted and just need to finish this test, as it's due soon and I physically haven't been able to do it because this stupid wheel keeps coming up. Also the cursor comes up with any other application so it's not that my computer is frozen, just doesn't wanna work with safari. Please please please someone help. I need to finish this and I need to go to sleep!

problem, as time was apparenty of the essence...
Much more information would have been required from
you about your OS X version, computer model specs,
and also a cure would likely have required you to shut
down and restart your computer.
At least perhaps start in SafeBoot, and run repair disk
permissions in Disk Utility. Check some system logs,
and also look into Activity Monitor (probably before
a restart) to see where the system resources were
being used; & if anything running could account for
the problems you've faced in using Safari.
To see what may be behind issues in your running
system you can get & use this free utility from a
trusted developer to get a readout of your OS X
and the results of this can be posted back here in
a discussion area as an image, to help diagnose.

Ipod problem... someone anyone please read and help

I have an older 3rd generation ipod (ipod with dock) 20 GB as well as windows XP. I had an older version of itunes that erased my ipod; however I downloaded the latest version of itunes and updated my ipod software this morning. I plugged the ipod back into my computer and when i checked in "my computer" it still showed that the songs were in the hard drive (~14 GB) so i got excited and when i safely removed the ipod they were not in the display. So i plugged the ipod back in and itunes 7.3.2 created a playlist in my name and loaded surprise surprise a playlistwith 6GB of random songs... So now itunes views my ipod as full and i only see 6GB of music instead of what it should be 14 GB. I hope this doesnt sound crazy. If someone knows what this is please reply. Thank you so much

Hi, I currently have the Blackberry model Curve 8530, and I have been trying to get the new update (the menu style like the torch) because all my other friends have the same phone and I can’t download the update. My phone and computer say that I have the update v5.0.0.973 (platform 4.2.0.422) how can I change the menu style or platform to get it like the torch or the newer blackberry menu’s, because my phone desktop manager says that the phone is updated but it is not. Is there anyway to fix this?
