Hi I just got my N97 and it seems slow, jams etc. I keep reading about firmware. No idea what it is but do I need to do some update on my moile? I've heard a lot of bad press about the N97 doing this. I'm hoping I can resolve it as its annoying! Thanks!

Might be. If you press *#0000# you will be able to see the fw version. The latest is v12.0.024. If you got V10 or V11, i will recommend to update.
This is how I would do it:
1. Downloade Nokia pc suite (ovi suite) and backup your contacts, messages pics, whatever.
2. Download nokia software updater (NSU). Check if there is any updates for your phone and update it.
Then, i would guess you don't need to restore any contacts or stuff, but if it shuld crash in some sort of way, you have a backup.
If you still have problems like freezes i would take a hard reset - restore your phone and deleting everything, and then reinstall fw, then do another hard reset - and then use pcsuite to restore your contacts.... ready to use.
If that shouldn't work, you should take your device to a nokia care center, and let them sort it out.
But i fixed my problems with doing hard reset before and after installing FW update...

I have done that several times. In fact, every time I call Verizon with my phone problems, they have me do the same things repeatedly. I keep telling them I have already done them but they insist they are SURE it will work this time. It never does. After doing the factory reset and it still not working correctly, they act like they are confused, almost like I am lying. I did what you suggested above on the slim chance it would work this time but it did not. I bought two S5's that day and the other one works perfectly fine. I know I got a bad phone. You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. I migrated from windows LMS3.2.1 to soft appliance 4.2.2. i also set the gs.properties attribute to false. but, still the home page loads very slow. let me know if somebody experienced this and fond a resolution.

We are taking RDP to windows server 2008 R2 standard using Thin-clients.
If I drag a window of explorer or browser to other end of screen it is very slow.(it will work as desktop without video drivers).
Is there any solution for this.
And By the way what is application getting accelerated mean.

Please check if a normal physical computer has the same issue. If not, I’m afraid that the issue is related to the performance of Thin Clients.
Please update the firmware and drivers of your thin clients to the latest and try again.

Client screen gets very slow when viewing from ARD

I don't think this was a problem - or as much of a problem - with earlier versions (pre-Lion?). But when I observe someone's screen, suddenly they can't move windows easily, the redraws get very stuttery, etc.

Using Mac Pros, mostly 2009 Nehalems with dual monitors and Lion 10.7.4. "All Computers" has about 160 systems. I'm up to date with the software.

All ethernet GigE connections to switches (no wifi), switch infrastructure is much faster than that (not sure if fibre or 10Gig E), all Brocade switches I believe. The machines ARE on different subnets, but I don't think that's making a difference. ARD also isn't "refreshing" as well as it used to before Lion (meaning, the "All computers" list frequently doesn't update the computer's status). I feel ARD worked much better on Leopard and Snow Leopard, but I have no proof of that.
It helps only if I drop it down to monochrome (using the resolution fader on the upper-right), but it's very hard to work that way.

Scrollling in home screen is really slow, stalling out, why would it do this?

While I was putting apps into folders, my Ipad 2 started scrolling slowly. As I change between home pages, the animation takes a long time to complete, and even stalls out altogether, so that it is halfway between one screen and the next. I rebooted a few times, it is still doing this. It is hard to select apps to open, as the apps do not open in most cases when clicked on. If an app is opened, the app itself functions correctly, and at the proper speed. I can close to the home screen quickly, but as soon as I start trying to swip and scroll, that's when it does it slowly.
So it only really seems to be a problem with the home screen swiping animations, but I have no idea how to correct this.
I am at the point of restoring, but I wanted to see if there was a solution before I had to do this. Or at least an idea why it might happen.
I have 500 mb free on the Ipad. I tried freeing up some more space, but this doesn't seem to fix it.

I had the same problem with a 3rd gen iPod running IOS 4.2.1 - when finger-swiping to slide from one home screen page to the next, it would look like it was getting part way there and then stall ... forever. If I waited long enough, and then clicked the Sleep button, the screen would go blank (as per normal), and then I could click it again and go through the wipe-to-unlock sequence (as per normal), and the home screen page that would be displayed would be the one that it looked like it didn't quite make it to when it stalled. But any scrolling from there resulted in the same thing ... but I could use the same work-around (wait, sleep, unlock). If I finally did make it into an app, all swiping and scrolling worked flawlessly within the app ... but the home screen would still freeze every time I got back to the home screen.
Neither freeing up space on the device (deleting movies), nor hard rebooting (several times), helped at all. Even Settings->General->Reset->Reset Home Screen Layout didn't help.
What finally fixed it was Settings->General->Reset->Reset All Settings. All home screen swiping and scrolling instantly became normal again. I can now move smoothly between home screen pages again !
Of course my groupings of home screen icons were lost, and I had to re-enter my WiFi password, but that's a small price to pay. So maybe that will help for your IPad as well. Just a guess, but I think that maybe one of the config files containing home screen layout & icons got corrupted, and the device stalls while having to parse it. So resetting all settings erases that config file and puts a fresh one in its place.

SSH from work machine to home machine is very slow to connect

If I try to SSH to my home computer (using its domain name or IP) from any computer on my office's network I get very long delays (using the -vv flag to debug). But if I SSH to my home machine from a computer outside of my office's network my home machine responds fine, no delays. And I can SSH from my office's network to any other remote machine no problem. It's only my home machine that is experiencing delays. I should add that I can AFP/VNC connect from my office to my home without issues either, this ONLY affects SSH connections.

QuickTime Screen Recorder Very Slow in Mountain Lion

Is anyone else having problems with the QuickTime screen recorder in Mountain Lion vs in Snow Leopard? I remember it being light in Snow Leopard, but now, it hogs CPU and GPU (I think) cycles. Most of the time, what I'm trying to record (even just Safari or Finder windows) slows down because of it. Is there a fix for this? My computer is perfectly capable of running Mountain Lion and is much more powerful than my older Mac, which could use the screen recorder just fine in Snow Leopard.
I've also noticed that, if you choose to record audio from a mic, it doesn't start recording video until you make a detectable sound. I can tell by the bitrate meter it shows. This is stupid in my opinion... It should just start when I tell it to.

Droid x2 touch screen responce very slow and sometimes not responding.

I've been having issues with my 3g also dropping to 1x and not getting 3g back until i remove the battery also.I did the *228 and seemed to help this situation, but still has a hard time with connecting to 3g. Idk if this a area problem or not. When switching from apps to browser and main screen to browser, i can tap the browser and getting the indicator coming up so i know I touched it.It will delay like 5-10 seconds and sometimes i have to hit it like 5 times before it will come up. Friday i went to a verizon store and they cleared the cache and installed the dolphin browser. it seemed to work better until yesterday when it started freezing and not responding. Sometimes the keyboard will stay on my main screen when i exit my browser. I have to shut the screen off to resolve this issue. this is my second droid x2 and I had 4 droid x's in the last 18 months due to software issues. this is a very annoying issue and am very tired of the motorola devices i've had. verizon offered me a early upgrade but i refuse to purchase another motorola device.

"lags" or "nonresponsiveness" is USUALLY a 3rd Party App sucking the life out of your CPU (processor). Is it reproducible? If so, I would boot into SAFE MODE and test it. If the problem goes away, that pretty much confirms that you have an APP or WIDGET causing your grief ... and time to start Uninstalling things until the problem gores away. the silver "bullet" is a factory Reset - but don't automatically have all your APPS redownload or you'll likely just be back to the same issue.
Do a Search for "SAFE MODE" in the search bar just above ... if you can't find the procedure, let me know.
