N97 Mini data sync - Ovi maps

Having had to reset my N97 mini I no longer have the map sync profile for data connection. Does anyone know of a download link or could list the settings?
Thanks in anticipation

So did I. Have tried reinstall but still can't get past sign in. Maps doesn't seem to pick up either my account details or the server path but no error or failed log in is reported.
FYI I posted the same thread on the navigation forum

I cant get my N97 mini to sync through OVI suite, it doesnt matter if i try sync all or each one individually. Should i just back up and then reformat my phone?

I would think it's an issue with the computer software , rather than phone ! Check you have the latest version of Ovi suite and maybe try removing all Nokia/Ovi software from computer including drivers and try a clean install. There is a new Ovi suite beta you could try and also you can sync OTA using your Ovi Account, a hard reset is a long job and best left as a last resort !

  • N97 Mini wont sync through OVI suite

Can anyone advise how i can  sync my N97 mini. I have tried the usual method of sync and sync all but nothing happens. I could do with syncing without having to reset my phone as i may lose data on my phone.
    cheers

    Hey,
Instead of "Sync All", try to sync one application at a time, else, try to disable contacts from Sync all option and then give it a try, if it hlps, pls do share ur results on forum.

  • N97 and the new OVI MAPS

N97 sim free (on Orange), version 2.0 software. Updated to OVI maps, the free ones from this site. Installed ok.
When I open the app, it opens fine, then closes by itself after about 10 seconds!
    Any ideas?
I have deleted and re-installed the software, I deleted the CIties file and QF files.
    I am stumped!

Nokia Map Loader is a programme you can download to your computer, then connect phone to computer with usb, you can then download and install all the maps you need to your phone ( the actual maps not the app, this saves your phone having to download them real time, so navigation is quicker and data usage reduced)
And yes, I dowloaded and used the N97 mini version of maps before the N97 (classic) version was available.

  • N97 how to remove ovi maps to get memory free

My phone always says not enough memory.
Because the OVI maps cost a lot of money when i am outside my country even when i use offline.
I decided to remove ovi maps complete to to get memory free.
So first i removed NOKIA MAPS and OVI Maps Wi-Fi/Network from application manager , installed maps.
But unfortunately OVI Maps is still on my phone.
So I tried to remove it from the menu with Optione Organize. But the delete will not show up.
Can anyone help so i get some memory free ?
    With Kind Regards,

Whats the real issue ? Do you want to regain Memory really or ONLY because OVI Maps cost lot of money (???) . Because with proper settings OVI Maps will be totally FREE anywhere in the world.. Refer this ..
Maps should be pre-installed and set to Offline mode. Use only Integrated GPS Positioning method... and there should not be any cost incurred...

  • Ovi suite should sync ovi maps

    Hi,
just a gripe I hope Nokia will read. It would be nice if the ovi suite could 'sync' maps. What I mean is you can browse either the available maps or the maps on your phone. It can't show you the two together. What it *should* do, if Nokia actually used their own products, is show the available maps with some mark '*' to indicate which are already on your phone. When copying maps it should prompt you that a certain map is already on the phone and offer the opportunity to overwrite or skip.
You know, basic 1990's file sync stuff.
Maybe I'll send Nokia support an email.

Hi, look I really think you need to chill about this, you only need to update maps every couple of years, I work in the motor trade and most expensive factory fit sat nav systems are cd/dvd based and are generally not updated much more often than 18 months, the whole reason for loading maps onto your phone is to save data charges and speed everything up. If you have no maps on your phone navigation will still work if internet is connected as the phone will download maps 'on the fly' as it needs them, but it just slows things down and if you're out of your region will cost plenty in roaming charges (so download your foriegn destination on pc before you leave). Just enjoy your phone and free navigation
    Cheers

  • Mac mini, data sync with ipad2, + photo editor suggestion

Don't stop reading when you see the word "windows".....On windows (yes, the blasphemy OS), if I connect my ipad 2  I get an icon and can explore the ipad photos folder as if it were a removable drive, drag 'n drop, copy/paste. I havent found the same functionality on a mac. Can I add the ipad as a mount device?  Also, what's the best file synching app avail avail from the app store. I want to be able to do just as I do with my other  devices, sync photos, files, etc. to a designated folder (NOT A DEFAULT, UNCHANGEABLE FOLDER, but one I specify) automatically when I connect the ipad to my mac. Ive seen several solutions on the net, but most of those are the usual "install our FREE download manager app", which is usually malware. I don't mind spending a little money to get a product that will work easily but I prefer to get it from the app store to minimize risk. Also, I want to edit photos, crop, lighten, darken, selectively make changes to areas, etc.. Any ideas on a good product for mac? NOTE: Mac mini, only 8gb ram, so don't have a lot to play with. Thanks in advance for the help.

I persuaded my group to switch to iphones, and acquire ipads. I've been "volunteered" to write instruction guides on installing the software we need to use. As part of that, I need to be able to take a screenshot, copy parts of that screenshot, move parts around (buttons etc), draw arrows, insert text boxes, adjust lighting (i.e. make all but one selection dark/grayed out) to help those who are, shall we say, a bit slower at things identify the appropriate area being referenced in the document. I looked at iphoto, but it doesnt have the features.
Thanks for the suggestion on iFunBox. I don't want to use freeware on work devices due to the risk of malware. I know apple is more secure than winblows, but it wouldnt be difficult for someone to write a pretty app that does one thing on the surface while doing other things in the background. Purchased/licensed software *should* be inherently safer, as well as having vendor support for upgrades/troubleshooting.

  • N97 ovi maps firmeware 11.0.0.21

    Pardon for my english.
For when OVI MAPS 3.03 free, in versions of firmeware 11.0.021?

  • E73 + ovi maps

sooo i just downloaded the maps for my e73 and it seems that "my position" is inaccurate.
its not too far off like others i've known but mine is like 1 state away.
anyone know the cure to this problem?
currently running ovi maps 3.04 on my nokia e73

    @toyartillery
    Welcome to the forum!
It would probably help to open this Nokia resource:https://www.nokiausa.com/get-support-and-software/product-support/e73/how-to/positioning/positioning... although it may be a little out of date as OVI Maps v3.04 slightly different.
Suggest that you only ENABLE "Integrated GPS" positioning method and go outside away from tall buildings for perhaps 20 - 30 minutes to allow device to achieve first positional fix.
You can enable Assisted GPS positioning method which needs a network access point later.

  • N97 Mini can't get a GPS fix on Ovi Maps but insta...

Yeh, well I got my N97 Mini yesterday and it instantly fixes on a satellite on Google maps but  when I try Ovi maps or the positioning app (Menu> Apps> Location> GPS Data> Positioning), it doesn't connect at all! I'd really like to be able to use Ovi so what can I do?
    -HR.
    N97 Mini- RM 555- v11.0.045
    Solved!

Google maps uses the cellphone mast and the internet to determine your position, apart from the GPS on your device.
On Ovi Maps or Positioning app, have you configured it to have A-GPS activated? Furthermore, Google Maps is fast in getting a "map" because it only downloads maps on the fly, of maps of the area on screen, while Ovi Maps is trying to download the maps for an entire country.
Go to Menu>Apps>Location>Positioning>Positioning Methods. Make sure you have A-GPS and network based turned on (you can use it turned off if you want, but turning them on will make the initial fix faster). In Positioning Server, make sure that the server address is supl.nokia.com, and the access point is defined.
The first ever fix from a phone can take anywhere from 5min to 45min, depending on various factors. Also, make sure that you have downloaded the maps for your country into your phone.

If I'm looking: Menu > Settings > Application Mgr. > Installed apps. - what incidences of either Nokia or OVI Maps do you have installed already?
I see neither Nokia, nor Ovi, nor any Maps at all.
So nothing even worth trying to remove.
And plus to all - My Nokia was on touchscreen warranty repair - so it was like new from box.
Before warranty there was this problem and after receiving from warranty - same problem.
Only I restored backed up contents before trying tu update OviMaps...

  • N97 min Ovi maps problem

Can not connect to the Internet in ovi maps, constant error message.
Common Internet works fine without any problems,

    N6303 classic
I have a N6303 classic. Using PC Suite and Map Loader I managed to upload the UK maps to my 6303 just after last Christmas. For some crazy reason 2 days ago I downloaded and installed Nokia Ovi Suite and allowed it to update my phone – quite unnecessarily, but it looked like a good idea at the time! The backup failed. It lost various settings, but I was able to reset them. Also it allowed me to download via my PC a selection of maps and load them on to my phone. I then found that the memory card was too full and I wanted to remove some of them...I found I was unable to do this in Ovi Maps, and got the same error message that I lacked an internet connection. (I have broadband, which works fine.) However, PC Suite allowed me to delete all the maps, freeing up some space.  Now, neither Ovi Suite nor PC Suite will allow me to connect to the internet via my PC to download, you’ve guessed it, the maps of the UK. The only route seems to be to connect to the internet via my mobile, which I have no need to do and will simply waste money. The maps would be nice to have but aren’t essential and I have absolutely no use for the 6303 as a SatNav, but it is frustrating not to be able to take advantage of what seemed a useful little add-on, having an A-Z of the whole of the UK available for emergency use.

  • N97 Mini works slowly with data!

I'm using N97 Mini and I feel that this model working very hard at:
    - Delete data such as: photo, music, video... special when I select more than one file. It's even hardly to open Options menu. After deleting, it still shows files that i've deleted until one minute later.
    - The Ovi suite works hard so. It works incorrect when sync photos. There're 2.000 photos in my library and only 800 photos in my phone (synced Photos ), and more. I tried to copy new files to my phone using "copy to the device" action. It takes an evening to do this, and when i browse photos, i realize there's duplicated files ( 2, 3, even 4 same files).
That's all slow things I realized until now.

Hi, I find aeiting files easier using computer connected via usb in mass storage, go to 'my computer, open E or F drive and add, remove or edit files there !
Just remember to set memory in use for messages back to E when you've disconnected phone as it resorts to C after usb connection.
    Good Luck
