N97 mini music

I recently got an N97 mini and thought i would be able to play music through my works van stereo using the fm transmitter only to find that the mini does not have this feature but have read that you can play through bluetooth.
My phone is paired with the bluetooth enabled stereo in the van for calls but i can't figure out how or if i can play music through the stereo.
Can someone help please.

I am not sure if this will be helpful, but i had similar problem and (N95), looked for answers. The thing, is that to listen to music over bluetooth you need A2DP support, which Nokia has, however practically none of the bluetooth kits has it, certainly not the car built-in bluetooth, most car kits only support phone calls, and phone contacts,etc, not A2DP, nokia offers some kits that can stream music through your car stereo over bluetooth, if you have bluetooth enabled aftermarket stereo, check the manual for supported formats, if you cannot see A2DP then you're left with basic aux jack.

N97 mini music player problem

i dont know whats going on but yesterday i was transfering new songs to the phone then suddenly the screen turns black and the phone dead. i took out the battery and restart again but all songs inside the phone gone and i cant transfer any songs now. its shows in the hard drive that still have 700 songs but it says no songs when i pressed on the music player? i tried restarting many times but no use. anyone know how to solve this problem?

This same problem is with my n97 mini but not with the music player since I\ve never tried using it. It happens with me when I sometimes open my images or other stuff, the screen goes black and than it restarts itself or it shuts down. Even my WLAN is not working properly ( may something wrong in the settings. Anyways did you tried to update your music playlist on phone?
I think whenever you transfer songs, you will to update the playlist.

N97 Mini music comes on without wanting it

Hi,
My N97 Mini starts playing a song at full volume without warning 24/7. The phone is fully charged and sitting on table so no pressure on touchscreen. The only way to stop the music is to turn the power button off. Any advice welcome.

My N97 had to have a HARD RESET performed after getting a WSOD (testing Nokia Labs beta software).
I reformatted the E: drive (32 GBMass Memory) using the file manager, but Ovi Suite won't sync my Music from my PC back to the N97.
It shows my full library on the PC. Pressing the sync button in Ovi Suite says that it is syncing but nothing appears on the N97. There is no change in the amount of free memory on the E: drive and a Refresh Music Library performed shows that there is no music on the N97.
Any suggestions?

N97 mini - Music player bugs

Opening the podcast in the music player reveals several options missing, like least played, never played etc. As a frequent user of podcast, the options are used all the time. They are missing in N97 mini, however available in N97, N86, 5800.

N97 mini music libary refresh not working

I did have the problem these days, that copied mp3 would not be detected by an refresh of the music library and found many hints and tips about deleting different files and directories.
So i did collect all these tips and took my choice what to do, and was lucky, it did work.
I have a N97mini, with built in mass-memory, and a SDCard. Have all the music on SDCard in a folder called "Music". SDCard was also used in E71 some monhs ago, so there may be some files or folders from that time which have nothing to do with the N97mini.
I deleted some files and directories, and after that switched the phone off and on. Then started the music-player, which then was really slow, and the player automatically started to rebuild the library, which also took a long time (approximately 15 minute).
Here are the files and folders, and also some info what happened after successful rebuild of library:
MassMemory
Private\101ffca9 delete harvesterdbv9_5.dat (file was re-created)
Private\10281e17 delete complete folder with content (folder and 4 files were re-created)
SDCard
Private\101f8857\Cache\E delete all .dat files (no file was re-created)
Private\101ffca9 delete harvesterdbv9_5.dat and harvesterdb.old (file harvesterdbv9_5.dat was re-created)
Private\10281e17 delete complete folder with content (folder and 4 files were re-created)

Music Files and Memory Card On N97 mini

I,ve own my N97 mini for about a month now, been serving me well except for this problem...
I created a folder on the E:/ drive for storing musics I transfered via PC Siute but I noticed that I can't seem to find the onces I trasfered via Bluetooth. When I open the music player and refresh, it seems some of the musics are not added to it. When I open the folder I created for musics I see the songs there but when I go back to the music player it ain't there.
What can be done?
I added an 8G memory card to my phone and it's been misbehaving. Problems ranging from slow boot up and opening of applications to this error NOT ENOUGH MEMORY PLEASE DELETE SOME DATA whenever I try to open the music player. I understand that N97 mini can take upto 16G memory card but how come 8G gives it problems?

Why on EARTH are you transferring music by Bluetooth ??? Simply connect the phone to your computer by usb cable in Mass Media mode. The phone will show in 'My Computer' as an external hard drive E. Open it and your music folder will be there. Then drag and drop any music you want FROM your computer TO the 'Music' folder on your phone, safely disconnect the phone from computer, go to music player and refresh music, that's all there is to it !!

Got N97 mini on vodafone and want to get the free comes with music. How do I do this? How do i get a pin and register. Can locate seeing anything in the box about this. Tried Customer Support but did not answer.

N97 mini - "refresh" option is missing in Music Li...

The option to refresh the Music Library seems to be missing.
Is anyone else experiencing this or have I gone completely madder?
My N97 is up to date:
N97 mini RM-555
SW v 11.0.045
Before I upgrade S60, "refresh" option could be found at
Go to Music ( from main menu ) then go to Music Library( not Music Store ) so the screen displays Artists, Albums etc. Press Options and Refresh Library is second option.
After upgrading, "refresh" disappeared.
I have those old items too, but "Refresh library" is slotted between "Show open apps." and "Go to Music store". Strange how yours isn't showing...
I guess this issue caused by the new SW update(v 11.0.045).
Hope developers are known about this issue.

Go to Main Menu select Music. Click on it and when it gives you options of Artists, Albums, etc. select "All Songs" then go to options. It is here that you will find the "Refresh library" option.

Downloading music to N97 Mini v.slow

Hi,
I was setting up an iPhone 3Gs for someone the other day (I still prefer my N97 Mini ).
However the software seems much faster and more reliable than my Nokia.
In particular I synced 7Gb of music to the iPhone and it took ten to fifteen minutes.
Copying 4Gb of music to my phone took 1-2 hours!
Does anyone know why it should be so different?
Both machines are quite new/fast and I was using USB 2.0 so it should be quick.

Hi, all I do is check music on WMP by using find album info, let it do its stuff, then just drag and drop the album onto the hard drive on phone, every track has Album title, track title, artist, composer, year, and album art, Takes anout two minutes to transfer something like Now 73 !
Easiest way for me, and I've got about 2500 tracks on my phone.

After reading the Nokia mobiles page regarding the N97mini, i decided to take the plunge and buy one, now after getting it home I cant seem to find anyway of joining the "comes with music" or has this feature been removed

N97 mini, deleted music files but album names stil...

Hi, I deleted all the "unsatisfactory" music that was preloaded on my e71 mini using the delete function in the music player and it said the files were deleted but it still shows the album names.
I read on these forums that this can be solved by deleting private\101FFC31 and
private\101ffca9 and refreshing the library but I cannot even locate these files.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This worked for me. on N97 mini. You may have to search for the files. It works for music and podcasts. If you cant do it, you could put the music back in and delete it again.
* Firstly, connect your phone to a PC via USB.
* Choose Data Transfer (a.k.a. Mass Storage). Do not select PC Suite because you won’t be able to browse protected folders in PC Suite mode.
* Open Windows Explorer on your PC.
* Go to \private\101FFC31 on the phone’s folder.
* There, you should be able to find the mpxv1.mpd (for MP3) and pcv5.mpd (for AUDIO PODCAST)
* Goto \private\101f8857\Cache
* Goto \private\101ffca9
* In all the 3 folders delete all the files Not the FOLDER
* Now refresh ur music library

N97 Mini can no longer be found on iPhoto.

hey, will some one kind enough to sort me out this ' dreadful problem , my N97 mini has been working fine with iPhoto, getting images/ videos off my phone, now when i plug it in, i click Mass storage and nothing on iPhoto changes, everything else works like finder, because the folders on the desktop, but i dont no what's happened, the only thing changed from other times is i have recently upgraded to snow leapard but i dont see how that could be the problem.

If you had iTunes set not to copy added recordings into its own library, then the files might be anywhere and justreferenced in iTunes. Only you could know where you put the originals, but if careful searching doesn't find them that suggests they've been deleted.
If it did copy the files but you have deleted the library from your 'Music/iTunes' folder then the songs are gone. Again, if searching produces no results then the songs would appear to be missing from your computer.
With no backups, and the songs deleted, they are lost. 'iTunes in the Cloud' might enable you to re-download songs you had purchased, but I doubt this works on Leopard, which your signature says you have.

Connection fails between N97 mini and Ovi Suite

Hi,
I have had many kind of problems connecting my N97 mini with my laptop but have finally hitted the edge in this issue and didn't find an answer existing here.
When I updated my Ovi Suite to the latest version the connection to my N97 mini was cutted off. This was maybe two weeks ago and I haven't been able to connect the phone to the laptop with PC suite connection form ever since (and no further updates available). I can sure connect with the Ovi Music in other connection forms and store the music to my phone but any connections with the Ovi Suite fails. There for I cannot sync my photoes or address book or get the new updates by my computer. What could I do to get the connection back? Install an older version again? Where to get one?
Today I checked the program updates with my phone application and there is software version 12.0.110 available to upload. Well, my phone does offer for other updates to "start to update" but this one gives only option to "update via computer" (sorry I don't know the exact terms for the option written in the quotes since I use my Nokia in Finnish ). How could I get the updates to my phone via computer when I cannot connect with the Ovi Suite anymore??
I really hope anyone have had the same problem (it's really irritating) and still hopefully wait for some answers...

Unfortunately there is no easy solution to this one as it is probably de to the installation of the Ovi Suite update on your laptop.
The first thing you could try is to uninstall and reinstall Ovi Suite. You could also try using the PCsuite cleaner which should ensure that the previous installation is properly removed before reinstalling.

Nokia N97 mini firmware

First of all I would like to excuse me for my bad English as I am from Latvia!
Recently I have bought a new Nokia N97 mini. I have backed up everything and written down all the name of software that I afterwards uninstalled as I thought that it would be better for firmware update process. My goal was to update the phone to the newest firmware for my phone, however I got into problems with all the versions available.
So this is the information on my mobile phone:
Software version: v 11.0.102
Software version date: 01-02-2010
Custom version: 11.0.102.C01.01
Custom version date: 01-02-2010
Language set: 13
Model: N97 mini
Type: RM-555
Latest update: Not updated

If it is possible that there in my device there is a newer custom version (11.0.102.C01.01) installed than my Nokia N97 mini device support (10.0.020) than it should be possible that there is some newer custom firmware (12.0.110) available for my phone.

So where can I obtain it? And speaking generally were (exact internet address of FTP or HTTP protocol handled server, with login information, if needed) all Nokia N97 mini firmware`s could be found? I would even try to install non-customized version 12.0.110 of it on my phone. Maybe I don`t even need any custom version and all Nokia N97 mini devices can handle any Nokia N97 mini firmware?

I can clearly live without Latvian language and as it is well known that there is no special or no at all services or applications for Latvia region that I could miss. I would better use United Kingdom apps and turn off some really unnecessary services or news.
I would`t reply if there were nothing at all from Latvia in phone. I just need to get it work faster and with less problems form software side. I could use any Nokia N97 mini update version that doesn`t have "Comes with music" services and apps as I don`t have license to it.

N97 Mini works slowly with data!

I'm using N97 Mini and I feel that this model working very hard at:
- Delete data such as: photo, music, video... special when I select more than one file. It's even hardly to open Options menu. After deleting, it still shows files that i've deleted until one minute later.
- The Ovi suite works hard so. It works incorrect when sync photos. There're 2.000 photos in my library and only 800 photos in my phone (synced Photos ), and more. I tried to copy new files to my phone using "copy to the device" action. It takes an evening to do this, and when i browse photos, i realize there's duplicated files ( 2, 3, even 4 same files).
That's all slow things I realized until now.

Hi, I find aeiting files easier using computer connected via usb in mass storage, go to 'my computer, open E or F drive and add, remove or edit files there !
Just remember to set memory in use for messages back to E when you've disconnected phone as it resorts to C after usb connection.
