They're very unlikely to / probably won't, since software development is focussed on the newer Symbian phones. There was word a while back on here from the Nokia guys saying there is a firmware update for the N97 and N97 mini in the works, which by the look of things looks like will be the last one for these devices.

N97 mini software issues

It has been a week since I purchased a new N97 mini and I had to restart it almost 20 times since then.
Here are the issues I see with this phone, Iam not sure if it is software/hardware/memory issue:
1. After downloading music from nokia music store, music player doesnot respond to the refresh music library and if you persistent in forcing it to refresh, phone freezes and you will have to literally take the battery out. The issue when I looked at a little more in this case is, whenever music files are stored in anyother directory then Music in the Mass memory, software has issues in refreshing library.
2. To come around the above issue I downloaded music to my PC and stored in Music directory in Mass memory, now there is second issue that came up.....This time it refreshes fine, but when switching between two albums in the library phone freezes again, and being persistent again in this case will make the phone freeze to the worst possible extent where in you will not be able to receive any phone calls and you will have to remove the battery and restart it.
3. To come around the above two, I started playing music from file manager by opening the file, and bingo there is a problem here as well, file manager freezes to death....
I didnot approach Nokia service yet, and am exploring if there is a solution to the above mentioned issues.....
In case you have faced similar issues and found a solution, plz help me, so that I dont have to take my brand new phone to the service centre.....

Hi, firstly I only ever drag and dop mp3 music onto my hard drive and usually fine, did have a refresh problem after update recently and did this (may help you) also if you;ve downloaded a lot of data lately, try cearing privacy data on phones web browser , you may have used a lot of RAM which could cause phone to slow down or freeze.

N97 mini software stuck at v11.0.105

Just installed the nokia suite v3.4.40 and plug in my n97 mini to check for update. It's showing that my v11.0.105 is latest and up-to-date software.
I don't understand why, the latest software should be v30. xxxxx
Please help me. I want update!

Have you checked thru' the Phone whether any update is available ? Sometimes these are ONLY released thru' FOTA for specific Product Codes ...(Menu-->Applications-->Software Updates...).
If still no luck, ask your local Nokia Care whether they can be of any help ...

N97 mini software udate

I have discovered my N97 mini currently has software version 11.2.102 (meant to be 12.0.110) when i go to SW update it says there are no update available so I downloaded the software updater from the nokia site and it doesnt recognise my phone.
Any ideas on what to do?

There are various reasons why the update may not yet be available for your phone. Nokia releases the update in phases and the one for your product code may not be released yet. Furthermore, if your phone is network branded, it may be even longer or not at all becuse the network has to localise and approve the firmware update before Nokia will release it. Some networks are notorioously slow at doing this if they bother at all. I have a network branded handset and the update was finally released a month ago after me persistantly pestering my network for weeks.
So if you have a network branded handset, you should ring them and request that they approve it asap.
As for the updating process, the best way to do it is to use fota which is to update directly from the phone. To do this, type *#0000# then the green call button. Then click on Options followed by check for updates. This should tell you when an update is available and give you the option to update directly from your phone. You will need an internet connection for this. Don't forget to backup your phone first.

Software Update for Nokia N97 Mini

I'm curious when will there be a new software update for Nokia N97 mini.
The latest update was on June or July last year v30.0.004
Would be cool to update it, don't you agree? Almost a year now....

Can't update software on n97 mini

Hi everyone, I have nokia n97 mini white with 11.0.102 version of software and want to update to 12.0.110 but can't. My phone find softvare, download it and start installing but after phone restarts instalation is canceld and when the phone starts again it says that the phone doesn't support update. So if anyone can help whit this, thanks

If you want a reply from Nokia then you have to ask Nokia, not post a question on a forum populated by other users of Nokia products like yourself.
The general consensus among users here is, however, that the N97 and N97 mini are abandoned products. They've not been updated since July and August 2010 respectively.
On the other hand, I did recently see a page on a Nokia site saying that some piece or other of software that they were pushing did require PR2.x (V2x) on the N97 mini and PR3.x (V3x) on the N97 to work correctly. Would Nokia be releasing software that will never run on phones because the required firmware will never be released? It would be a bit stupid, although I wouldn't put it past them.

nokia dont give dates for releasing firmware you will just have to keep checking
and remember updates depend on region/product code and network,ie network has to approve the update

Is there any software can do things such as: restart phone, turn off ...
The power button only turn on and turn off phone, can't reset if u need it in case phone got problem.
Tried to find but all are too old and not supported this devide.

You don't need special software to reset your N97 mini. You can reset your phone as follows:
*#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default
*#7370# - Reformat your phone
To Hard Reset, you need to press and hold the Caps + Space bar + Delete button and turn the phone on using the power button while continuing to hold the first 3 buttons until you see the handshake.
Always backup your phone regularly and before resetting because your data will be wiped, especially if you try the hard reset.

How Can I Re-Install Software on Nokia N97 Mini??

HELLO!
My brother bought a Nokia N97 Mini.
I guess it has a custom firmware, because it doesn't have the option for Software Update and when I connect it to the computer, it doesn't have the option for selecting "PC Suite" (Only gives me USB and CAM) so I haven't been able to update it or re-install it using the NSU.
Is there a way I can RE-FLASH the FW with the original Nokia Software or fix it in another way?

Dialling *#06# should give you the IMEI number of the phone. Check the Imei number at this page: http://www.numberingplans.com/?page=analysis&sub=imeinr
I cannot guarantee that the page is 100% correct, but it has never failed me checking the IMEI number.
Don't post the IMEI here at this forum, but what does the site tell you about the device?
E.g. I just checked my HTC desire for fun now, and the site tells me that the IME number entered belongs to a HTC desire A8181 which is correct.
The site should tell you that you have a Nokia n97 mini and maybe some more info.

Anyway, if it's a real Nokia but someone has managed to install a custom fw which is not (seems obviously to me) from a operator, the device is not under warranty.

Connection fails between N97 mini and Ovi Suite

Hi,
I have had many kind of problems connecting my N97 mini with my laptop but have finally hitted the edge in this issue and didn't find an answer existing here.
When I updated my Ovi Suite to the latest version the connection to my N97 mini was cutted off. This was maybe two weeks ago and I haven't been able to connect the phone to the laptop with PC suite connection form ever since (and no further updates available). I can sure connect with the Ovi Music in other connection forms and store the music to my phone but any connections with the Ovi Suite fails. There for I cannot sync my photoes or address book or get the new updates by my computer. What could I do to get the connection back? Install an older version again? Where to get one?
Today I checked the program updates with my phone application and there is software version 12.0.110 available to upload. Well, my phone does offer for other updates to "start to update" but this one gives only option to "update via computer" (sorry I don't know the exact terms for the option written in the quotes since I use my Nokia in Finnish ). How could I get the updates to my phone via computer when I cannot connect with the Ovi Suite anymore??
I really hope anyone have had the same problem (it's really irritating) and still hopefully wait for some answers...

Unfortunately there is no easy solution to this one as it is probably de to the installation of the Ovi Suite update on your laptop.
The first thing you could try is to uninstall and reinstall Ovi Suite. You could also try using the PCsuite cleaner which should ensure that the previous installation is properly removed before reinstalling.

Nokia N97 mini firmware

First of all I would like to excuse me for my bad English as I am from Latvia!
Recently I have bought a new Nokia N97 mini. I have backed up everything and written down all the name of software that I afterwards uninstalled as I thought that it would be better for firmware update process. My goal was to update the phone to the newest firmware for my phone, however I got into problems with all the versions available.
So this is the information on my mobile phone:
Software version: v 11.0.102
Software version date: 01-02-2010
Custom version: 11.0.102.C01.01
Custom version date: 01-02-2010
Language set: 13
Model: N97 mini
Type: RM-555
Latest update: Not updated

So the question is if the latest firmware (12.0.110) version custom package is available for my device. If it is possible that there in my device there is a newer custom version (11.0.102.C01.01) installed than my Nokia N97 mini device support (10.0.020) than it should be possible that there is some newer custom firmware (12.0.110) available for my phone.

So where can I obtain it? And speaking generally were (exact internet address of FTP or HTTP protocol handled server, with login information, if needed) all Nokia N97 mini firmware`s could be found? I would even try to install non-customized version 12.0.110 of it on my phone. Maybe I don`t even need any custom version and all Nokia N97 mini devices can handle any Nokia N97 mini firmware?

I can clearly live without Latvian language and as it is well known that there is no special or no at all services or applications for Latvia region that I could miss. I would better use United Kingdom apps and turn off some really unnecessary services or news.
I would`t reply if there were nothing at all from Latvia in phone. I just need to get it work faster and with less problems form software side. I could use any Nokia N97 mini update version that doesn`t have "Comes with music" services and apps as I don`t have license to it.

N97 Mini - problem autolock with security code

I bought my N97 Mini last week. It works perfectly except when I activate autolock with securitycode, the phone refuses to react, when the autolock is activated of course. Only when I remove the battery I can reboot my phone.
I've contacted both the after sales service of the store where I've bought my phone as Nokia Careline.
Nokia referred me to a Nokia Care Point and the after sales service of the store proposed to give me a brend new phone.
I've chosen for the new phone, but the problem remains the same (sometimes it works, but sometimes it doens't).
I have the newest software (V10.0.020 on date 14-10-09), edited version 10.0.020.C01.01 (via *#0000#).
I can't continue te be given new phones that don't work properly.
What should/can I do more?

Nokia N97 Mini Wi-Fi Keeps Seaching

Hi,
I am experienceing a very unpleasant problem with my N97 mini and so far I haven't seen any recommendations or recovery tips on this one. When I go into the WLAN settings and start searching for a connection (for example my home Wi-Fi), the phone just keeps searchin and never stops. In the back it only show "Other (Hidden Network)". I've also tried to you the hidden and typing in the name of my home network. Didn't work. I updated the software, tried a few other things, still nothing. It just keeps on searching...
Please help me and let me know if someone had the same problem.

If it is your own wifi then you should have the passphrase if you set it up or altervatively, some routers come with the security preset in the factory in which case the passphrase is usually printed on the label underneath the router.
There are a few possible reasons why your phone may not be seeing the router. The most common is the router is set to hide SSID. Check router settings to make sure SSID is not hidden.

N97 Mini Flash Lite Problem

Hey Guys, what happened with me maybe a minor issue but i wanna know how to solve it.
Here's what happened with my N97 mini: I had the flash lite 3.0 installed, so I downloaded The flash lite 3.1(4) from a link i found on Google. Now, when I go to youtube.com on the default symbian browser, I get the first "frame" of the video with sound but without the video; only first "frame" of the video appears. When I tap on the video for Fullscreen the web browser closes by itself and it shows to the homescreen, and something really weird happens: when i hide the widgets and show them again, it does it like i have the theme effects off.. but when i go to theme settings, its actually theme effects on. And it doesnt do the effects again untill i turn my phone off and then turn it on.
On the other hand, I guess this flash lite issue is causing a problem on video playback in realplayer. When I record a video with the camera and play it back, it does it without any problem and the file format is MP4. Though, when i send an MP4 video from my pc to the phone, the playback shows no picture.. just the sound.
Im sorry If I said too much, but i said everything that happened because i wanna know if its really the flash lite's problem.. or its something else?
And either way, whats the solution!? Please Guys I need ur help

A software update shouldn't cause a problem as the phone has data protection, just to be safe back up your contacts, but the phone should be fine anyway, simply re-install the software with Nokia Software Updater, and hoprfuly it will resolve your problem, if not , contact a Nokia Care Point, whatever the case , the phone definitely won't be any worse for a software install.
