N97 picture problem

Hi all.
Ive had my N97 for a few weeks and i'm loving it.
One problem i do have is with the picture viewer.
Ive uploaded pictures with no problems and on the phone they are in the downloaded folder which is fine.
How ever today ive gone to delete a few pictures and for some reason it now had a generic picture with a line through it.
I cant delete it or access it.
Ive gone through the phone manager to see if its there but its no longer there.
Ive tried turning the phone off and taking the battery out for an hour with no joy.
Has anyone had this problem and what did you do to correct it.
if it makes any difference its on the mass memory.

Ok. So we could choose to just be quiet, and then you'd scream about nobody answering.

But instead you expect us to repeat everything that we have already written once more, just because you are lazy.
It don't take an expert to understand the search function. You just type in some relevant words above, in the search box, and fire away. How difficult is that???
So instead of being arrogant and touchy, why don't you actually take the advice offered, and see if you can't also become a contributing member?

INSIGNIA 50" 1080p plasma picture problems

I purchased a INSIGNIA 50" 1080p plasma HDTV (NS-PDP50HD-09) last year, and it's plagued with this picture problem. What happens is the picture will split in half down the vertical middle, and the left half will bounce up and down one way, and the right half the opposite way. It's starting to get worse and worse. So i called support over a month ago (and it fell and still falls for a week under the 1 year manufacturer's warranty) and best buy sent a 3rd party company to look at it. Unfortunately they only work during weekdays, and close at around 5, so i had to take days off to have my tv serviced. I finally got it back, however it's been a week and the problem has resurfaced. I just called in again, and they said they will resend the company to look at it again. However, I am becoming frustrated with the situation, because the warranty end date is nearing, and although i was assured that there is a 90 day guaranty on it, i've paid for something is essentially broken. When it worked properly, i was very satisfied with the TV. Am i going to be stuck with a 75lb paper weight? I don't believe this model is manufactured anymore. Are there any options for me?

I've got the same exact problem with mine. It only does it when it's in one of the zoom modes. I had a tech check it out and he had fixed the problem but 3 months later the problem started up again. Now I'm just waiting to hear back from BB on if they're going to fix it or replace it.

DLP Picture problem

Hi,
All of a sudden I've been getting this.. almost static picture problem. It exists above my tv feed as well as the TV menus and text. You can see it below.It's a 72MX195 if that helps.
Any ideas?

Unfortunately if it's on top of the menus as well, it sounds like it likely requires servicing. I'm sorry.

Missing Pictures problem

Missing Pictures problem, I work with Adobe Illustrator CS2 at work & CS3 at home but i have the problem with both. I have a problem with missing pictures from time to time after saving the file & moving the image from original location. I know you have to link the images/files and leave then where the are or you can embeded them. So in my option box i un select the link the files box & i still get the missing files problem, when re-opening the AI file.
Does anybody know why? Or what I can do to avoid this?

N97 GPS Problems - Hardware or Software?

Sorry to start yet another thread on the N97 GPS problems, but reading through all the threads there seems not to be any clear conclusion as to whether or not the issue is a software/firmware one, in which case potentially fixable, or a hardware one, in which case the phones have to be sent back and replaced.
My personally feeling is that it's hardware. Some people have no issue but many have a problem. I have the same issues with losing the satellites, poor GPS accuracy, etc. both with Ovi Maps 3.01 and with Google Maps, which again to me points to a hardware fault. Updating firmware from v10 to v11 made no difference to GPS performance.
So, I wonder if people agree with me that it is a hardware issue and the phones have to go back, or if there is some hope of it being a software issue and thus being fixed?
Anyone had any success in sending back an N97 for replacement because if the GPS issue? Mine is a UK 3 branded N97 black, free as part of a contract, and I have a feeling that 3 are likely to resist replacing the phone if they can.

I believe that the GPS problem in N97 not a hardware problem but a software problem with the Nokia (Ovi) Maps 3.
Below explanation why:
I have been using Nokia Maps 2.0 on my previous phone – E71 for more than one year. It worked pretty well and stable. One important remark – it is important to configure the server for AGPS under Settings well...
About one and half month ago I decided to install on my E71 the newest Nokia (Ovi) Maps 3.0. And ... immediately my problems started. The GPS performance worsened – I was continuously getting messages about GPS lost, recalculating and usually concluding that I am on a parallel road to the road which I was actually driving – horrible...
Also my colleague with N82 made the same mistake (installed Maps 3.0) and got the same problems.
Because of this problems I have removed this new version on my E71 and went back to Nokia Maps 2.0. And guess what? - The problems were gone!
Two weeks ago I bought my N97. It comes only with Maps 3.1 so I was expecting problems. And ... indeed I have them all. Bad thing is however that I cannot go back to Maps 2.0 on N97...
I tested GPS accuracy with three different phones (N97, E71, E75) and two versions of Nokia Maps. What I can see is that its normal to be about 80-100 meters on average. This is not a specific N97 issue! And apparently should not be a problem because Nokia Maps 2.0 works great even if this application shows accuracy of 100 m. Probably thanks to the Assisted GPS.
So my conclusion is that it is not a hardware problem but a problem with (a part of) the software of the Nokia (Ovi) Maps 3.x ! Maybe with a GPS Driver? Or the functionality of the assisted GPS?

N97 facebook pictures problem

I am having a problem with my facebook widget on my n97. There are pictures that when I click on, a big red X shows on my screen. I then try the web based version on the n97 and the pictures load right up no problem.
I have removed and reinstalled the widget to no help.
It happens to most pictures, but not all.
Any ideas? It is really annoying to want to see the pictures in a gallery that have been posted and not be able to flip through them.

I had the same issue.
Removed the app, the installer, upgraded to v20, went into the OVI store and downloaded it again.
You will note in the OVI store there are exactly three (3) Facebook applications. Why? I don't know, someone dropped the ball.
Search 'facebook' and choose the first one 'Facebook for Nokia'.
Since I did that I no longer see the red X.

N97 pictures show in downloads category

Hello
After I updated my Nokia N97 I needed to do Hard Rest to fix some problems.
After I did the Hard Reset all the pictures that I took from the phone camera moved to the downloads category from the captured category.
Until now I didn't found a way to roll them back to the captured category.
Please help me to resolve this problem,

Sorry edenpc but I don't think there is a way for you to get them back to "Captured".
After the hard reset, the pics moved as you hadn't "captured" any since you did the reset.
As far as I can see, there is no way to move them from one category to the other.

N97 Picture quality (colour issue)

Hi, when i take pictures with the camera on the N97 the picture quality seems to be getting worse. There seems to be a lack of colour in any of my pictures now, like if you went into photoshop and reduced the colour, thats the outcome im getting now from every picture no matter how bright my surroundings are. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I tried to upload a pic as an attachment, but after clicking several times on the add attachments link, it failed to work. Typical NOKIA

I'm wondering if the process of compressing the video for the DVD may be pulling out a dying pixel
Dead pixels occur in LCD Displays eventually (as on a laptop / computer display or the LCD screen of a camcorder) and not actually located on the software required to generate mpeg2. Might be a hardware related issue but very unlikely that it relates to software exclusively.

N97 photo problem

This might be a simple issue, but i wont know until i ask.
Transferred some pictures over from N95 onto N97 and when i goto my photos, when the screen loads you have the icons of the 2 hills in grey then the image appears when loaded. apart from on some images the icon changes to green and a black diagonal line through it.
any ideas?

well i guess i spoke too soooon didnt worked i deleted that file which u said. it didnt work it still shows the deleted image as a corrupted file symbol with a diagonally crossed line. Also i tried the step one more time where in i deleted the file and then restarted the phone but still it didnt worked out, any other way? My prob is i copied pics from n95(without dupplicates and negatives i.e. without the folder called _palbtn...). simply images and videos but they r not being shown in the photo menu instead it shows only three files which were there prior to copying these files. same is for videos. shows only one which was there prior to copy. I think my phones gallery is not getting refreshed. Any other soln. i have latest firmware i.e.12.0.024 also i tried formatting the 32gb hard drive once, it worked well for few days but again came back to the problem. idont want to submit my phone to nokia care centre which will take a day or two to get cured. kindly any other solution please.........

Imovie text and picture problem

I have this movie clip and on that clip I made the text effect focus, so the movie clips gets unclear. (all that its working fine)
BUT.. then I would also like to have a picture next to the text, but now this picture get also unclear, but I want it clear as the text.
Any ideas?

No problem at all (well, perhaps a tiny one).
The x'es only the rectangles are created with the Rectangle Frame Tool, rather than with the Rectangle Tool -- or, for that matter, with the Text tool. TheX will disappear as soon as you click inside it with the text tool. They are to indicate two different basic objects, and may get a different default Object Style applied.
The usual way to draw a frame designated to receive text is dragging one out with the Text tool.
The dotted lines may be a problem -- that indicates the frames are created on a master page, rather than on the page you are working on. You cannot click-and-type in a frame that resides on a master page; you have to 'release' it first (Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + Double Click, with the black arrow). There are arguments for and against defining actual text frames on master pages; you'll have to decide for yourself what to use.

IPad and iPhone sync pictures problem.

When I try to sync my iPad and iPhone it will get within the last 3 pictures then stop giving me an APPCRASH error message. Then iTunes will shut down. No matter what I do to increase or decrease the number of pictures it always stops 3rd from the last.

Sub Picture problem in Encore CS6

I am working on my first bluray project. I made the Menu for Encore as I have make many in Photoshop.
The video is 1280 x 720 so I made the Menu 1280 x 720.
The problem is with the Highlight layers, but not all of them.
Here is a composite of 3 screen shots of a preview of the menu in Encore.
The top shows the left most button the Highlight shows only 3/4 of the button.
The middle shows how middle three buttons work fine.
The lower section shows the second from the right button, it does not work fully and part of the 6th button is on.
When I let Encore create a sub picture the same thing happened.
I have made sure that the GROUP boundaries do not over lap. I have moved the 1st, 5th and 6th button further away from each other but it still happens.
Anyone have any ideas?

I know this is old but just in case someone sees this and has the same problem. I am using 5.5 and I found this same issue. Upon playback before making it a dvd, portions of the highlight boxes were gone. The 4th outline of the box was not appearing. My project was a 2 dvd set and I had saw this problem in the first dvd and was going to find the answer but ended up burning it to dvd and the boxes looked as they were supposed to. Very strange but glad that it worked.

N97 Mini - problem autolock with security code

I bought my N97 Mini last week. It works perfectly except when I activate autolock with securitycode, the phone refuses to react, when the autolock is activated of course. Only when I remove the battery I can reboot my phone.
I've contacted both the after sales service of the store where I've bought my phone as Nokia Careline.
Nokia referred me to a Nokia Care Point and the after sales service of the store proposed to give me a brend new phone.
I've chosen for the new phone, but the problem remains the same (sometimes it works, but sometimes it doens't).
I have the newest software (V10.0.020 on date 14-10-09), edited version 10.0.020.C01.01 (via *#0000#).
I can't continue te be given new phones that don't work properly.
What should/can I do more?

I'm having problem with loading picture in applet window. Here is the example CODE:

When i run this file, applet window starts normaly, but picture doesn't load in it, window is empty. The picture is placed in the same directory where the applet HTML file is. I don't know where i'm going wrong?

Your code worked okay as-is. Here I'm loading in a jpg from the "images" directory which is in the current (".", dot) folder. The 'getImage' method returns immediately, ie, it doesn't wait for the image data to be loaded. We use MediaTracker to load the image data before trying to use/draw it. Bad file path and data-not-loaded are the major stumbling blocks in image loading. Another is corrupted image data or unrecognized format; try another image. The swing tutorial has a page "How to Use ImageIcons" with lots of related information. Also, one of the applet threads has image info.

N97 Widgets problem

I've Nokia N97 with V12.0.024
A lot of times the phone stops responding and I've to take out the battery to restart the phone.
After the restart, when it loads the widgets on the main screen, the pics on the Favorite Contacts widget disappears and in the Music Widgets it dosn't show the media buttons or anything else.
Its irritating becuase after sometime most of the widgets stop working and the phone starts to respond very slowly.
So far only solution I've seen to the problem is to format the phone and restore everything again.
The frequency of formatting the phone has gone up to once a week now.
If anyone else is facing the same problem and know a solution pls help.

im facing the same problem..every damn day...all he widgets stop working after every 10 hrs or so..and sometimes my phone doesnt even respond..neither do i rcv ne calls..I have to take the battery off twice a day 2 make sure its working fine..unfortunately thr is no solution to this..and neither is nokia bothered 2 take this into note..greddy company have got the money..and to hell w/ thr loyal costumers.
