N97 Reset Bug

I am writing to report a long term 'bug' which persists with my Nokia N97 which I can not understand. The mobile work perfectly fine when the mobile is switched on from a full reset by removing the battery and putting back in. However, when I switch off and on the mobile doing the toggle button, the machine operates in a different way. Firstly, the device stays in the portray display and will not rotate to the landscape device even if its opened. After a minute or so, if the keyboard or screen is not used, the key and screen guard is enacted and it can be removed until the battery is removed and the mobile is reset. The mobile has been hard reset, updated and even sent to be repaired without success. I have Facebook and BBC iPlayer currently on the home screen. I would be very grateful if this issue should be investigated and a solution found.

Goto sync under settings/connectivity/data connection/sync and try swithing your active profile to "OVI.com"
soft key > change active profile > Ovi.com (this profile is taken from the SMS you got from nokia that had a 4 digit PIN).
If you sync and get "invaid database" then uncheck syncing of notes. so should look like this
X Contacts
X Calendar
0 Notes
0 ect
0 ect
0 ect
0 ect
try syncing again.

hu guys, recently ive been experiencing a time and date reset bug, sometimes when i open up my computer it says something like your date is set to (i forgot the exact date but the year is 2001) so i change it back to the correct time and date, im not sure how i got the bug, can anyone help me fix this problem, its beginning to be annoying. thanks in advance!!

Those symptoms indicate that you need to get your backup (PRAM) battery replaced.If your computer does not retain parameter RAM (PRAM) settings when it is turned off, this generally indicates that the battery needs to be changed.;~)

N97 firmware bugs

Hi all,
I updated my N97 to firmware v2 and it experienced the no ring and impossible call problem.
So I did a hard reset that fixed the problem but since then, the phone act strangly:
the screen light itself every about 10 or 20 min!
it is impossible to connect the phone to wifi.
I try to soft reset, hard reset, I format the mass memory, I reinstall the firmware, but with no result.
It seems that it is impossible to change the firmware back.
So a hard reset does not bring the phone back to factory settings because the firmware is still v2.
Does anyone has an idea?
Please help me.

My bugs are as follows for version 12.0.024
-Cutting numbers with the internatioal extention within the contacts renders them un-pasteable losing the important contacts.
-changing the predictive txt word within the writer then adding grammer like the question mark copys the word twice and adds them on to your text. Also, when you hit plus button to add a symbol it changes the text to the next word and upon pressing back-space it refuses to acknowledge it for change back forcing you to delete the word and rewrite it!
-The fataly flawed lens cover.
-After accidentally adding my country wrong at the begining I was unable to change it with out a hard reset and resultantly was consistently redirected to a foreign language version of the websites i wanted to view.
-The facebook widget never showed any updates on the main page.
-Can not scroll sideways through the photos like the n97 making navigation slow and cumbersome.
-Horrendous ovi store excuse for an application store
-The web browser sometimes refuses to get past the white screen during its startup (since the hard reset this hasn't happened, although it has only been 1 day).
-The drawings saved with a messy noise around all the lines drawn.
-Guitar game has no audio even when audio option is set to on.
-Guitar game is gone after hard reset (among other things)
Perhaps one or two of these might be my own doing, I restored a backup of my n95 data, user files, contacts, bookmarks, settings, calender, notes and messages before I even used it (this was the only way to get my contacts back for me)

New N97 Camera Bug

I just bought an N97, and there is a huge HUGE bug that is bothering me, is a camera bug.
My phone was bought from Telcel (America Movil) RM-507, Firmware v.20
The problem starts when I use the camera, it seems to work fine, but if I closed the app and then try to take more photos the app doesn't starts correctly, the camera buttons appear but are freeze, you can close the app, but it does not starts, and if your try again the phone restarts.
It is annoying, first I thought it was my fault, so I hard reset the phone and and use it without any new app nor any contact, and still the problem was there.
I want to know if there is a way to fix this, and I have another problem Nokia is extremely slow to get firmware updates for Telcel phones, actually I haven't seeing a single upgrade from Nokia or Telcel phones.

I just got a n97 from Telcel (Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico.) They assured me I could get the new firmware (v21). I left my new phone in their office for four days and they returned it with the original v.20.
I really don't want this phone if we can't get the latest software. What can I do? (I've only had the phone for a 1.5 wks.)
is there some way to get the new firmware?
When I bought the phone they said I could get it.

Nokia n97 top10 bugs for me

After connecting via USB, in some modes the memory for frontpage gets switched from Mass to C. This causes email settings etc lost.
The above bug can also happen when battery dries out.
Sometimes calendar entries time cannot be set with qwerty keyboard.
Web browser shuts down randomly.
Web feeds not working.
No support for vcards.
Nokia Messaging takes up lots of space on C regardless of settings. Makes the app unusable.
Battery life is < 24 hours for me.
Sometimes keys are locked and you have to remove the battery.
Random lagging and bad responsiveness.
Let's just hope v12 fixes these. I am very, VERY disappointed in this device. Software quality overall feels very bad in the Nokia devices.

I made a hard reset and deleted all aplications that could use the internet connection and the error isn't there any more.. I suggest when u do the hard reset that you don't make a backup and restore it because the same error will appear again in that case (happened in my case). I saved only the contacts and calendar inputs into .csv files and restored them later. Everything works fine here now. I tried everything else and the popups still appeared again and again. Hope it will work by you.

NFL Mobile - Password Reset Bug

I am unable to sign into NFL Mobile on my device because of a recurring issue.
I had an unusual sequence of creating and resetting passwords for my verizon account, which I did on the My Verizon App, NFL Mobile App, and on my PC, before I finished setting up my account with a security question and the rest. Now every time I open NFL Mobile on my Android, it immediately prompts me to reset my password by entering my username/temporary password and create/confirm a new password. I no longer have a temporary password, although if I enter my actual password, it will connect with the server and give me the message: "Services temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. Error code =-1". It's been doing this for more than a month now.
I've tried a few things to get rid of that reset password prompt when I log into NFL Mobile. I've deleted the cache and app data. I've uninstalled updates. It is a factory app, so I can't delete and reinstall the app itself. Sure enough, everytime I open it, it again prompts me to reset my password and gives me an error message when it can't do so. Also, I can't recreate the conditions of when that prompt first appeared, and trick it into doing the right thing, because now that I've set up my verizon account with a security question, it is impossible to receive another temporary password ever again. All I want it to do is prompt me for my username and password, not a password reset!
Does anyone have any ideas? Has anyone else come across this bug before?

I definitely understand what you've been going through. We've had a few customers with this trouble and the steps below have working for the majority of our customers.
1. Go into manage apps on the phone and "Force Stop" NFL Mobile.
2. Go to the computer and login to My Verizon with the mobile number associated with the cell line.
3. On the device login to My Verizon Mobile and verify you can see account details.
4. Open NFL Mobile and verify if it's asking for username/password or still asking for temporary password. (if you're only being asked for username/password make sure you use the username and not mobile number)

Remote Audio Reset Bug

Surely this is a bug, or at least poorly though out....
Tried playing a video using remote on the iPhone on 3.01 and up flashed the warning on TV about audio being low or reset with an OK to click, but you needed the white remote to do that!
Must check I have latest Remote update actually.
Anyone else seen this?

this is something that has already been discussed on here a few times (the warning message anyway).
the remote doesn't replicate everything the apple remote can do, so i'm not surprised that you would need the apple remote for some things.

N97 - New bug

N97 V5 bugs

I usually do offline browsing in bed.. With N97 and 5800 whenever I go offline the phone locks itself? I need a logical explanation for this Nokia if there is one.. I always use auto phone lock after user defined minutes it is locked.. But why going to offline mode locks my phone again? Is it another bug? You guys never test V5 with the phone lock on?? Nokia please fix this annoying thing

N97 ringtone bug

now that i have ver 12 firmware the ringtone bug is reproduceable at will..
whenever the phone is locked it plays the wrong ringtone (nokia default) even theough the one set for my theme is on the c drive..
unlocked it seems to work ok..
can we get this fixed now nokia.. it appears the popup for lock unlock phone is too taxing or something.

I do not have the problem.
I use MP3's as ringtones. I got a huge package of thepiratebay.org with like 900 ring tone mp3's.
I added photos, taken with camera and / or transfered from PC to most of my (often in use) contacts, and it works perfectly with both incomming and outgoing calls.

Replaced my buggy Nokia N97 with a HTC Hero.
Besides the camera and the real keyboard the HTC Hero pawned the N97 on every level.

Ship-to address resets (bug?)

I have had a problem with the DI API since version 2005A. We are currently on 2007A PL48. The shipping address will reset to its default if you modify any header data (except UDFs) through the DI API. Can someone verify this or let me know that I'm doing something wrong?
Steps to reproduce via DI API:
Add a sales order via DI API and set the "address2" field to "some address"
The database will have "some address" in the table
Now modify any field in the header including the ship-to address and save the document (using DI API)
The database value will reset to the default shipping address/format for the BP
Any input would be appreciated.

Do you not have this behavior? Am I doing something wrong? My only work around would be to save the document twice in order to update the address field back to what I want.
This only occurs with the Address variable. You can run the same code and flip the Address and Address2 variables and you will see that the Address2 variable updates correctly every time.

Safari Reset Bug on 10.10.3

Upgraded to 10.10.3 today. Every time I launch Safari it is totally reset. Favorites bar is missing, shows the getting started window. I've tried everything I can think of and the browser is completely reset each time it's closed and then opened. Help?

Back up all data before proceeding.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it, but you do need to follow the instructions below.
Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:

N97 dislikes/bugs

1.the camera button. it is in a bad position that gets presssed every time i put the phone in a holder in the card when using gps etc.. very inconvenient...
2. the lock button issue.. doesnt always unlock it have to do it 3 4 times soumetimes... pain in the ....
3. intermiattant non use of my ringtone.. (even though i set it to use the one i copied to the phone memory at least a 3rd of the calls when the phone is locked it doesnt use it but the standard cingular tone instead.
4 finally same intermittant issue with occasionaly loosing my theme and/or home screen image..
5. a few freeze ups../non responsiveness maybe 4 that i had to remove the battery and reboot

I ahve none of the issues you mentioned with my N97 mini. Since it is brand new, you should consider bringing it back to the retailer for a replacement.

N97 Issues/Bugs

Afternoon,
Having a few issues with my week old N97...I've posted on the Vodafone forum but thought I'd also try here...
The main issue I have is with the WiFi - one of the main reasons I got the phone as I use email a lot and it's handy to have it connect to any routers available...
However, although I have 4 routers saved and I have the 'networks available' icon on my screen, it's very hit and miss actually auto connecting to them. And when I manually connect, it'll drop connection after a couple of minutes.
All I want it to do is auto connect to routers in range and, failing that, my contract internet when available (i live in a mobile blackspot you see)...surely that's what should happen anyway??
I'm running FW version 11 and is up-to-date...
Am I missing a setting?
Otherwise, phone is great and better now I have a better them installed...

On a side note, I think my phone is unlocked (in that I can put my O2 SIM in it and it doesn't kick up a stink) but it has a Vodafone splash screen at startup and VF MyWeb icon on my homescreen - anyway or making it truely unbranded as I just got it last week!!

OWB10gr2: Autobinding = partitioning settings are reset = BUG ?

When in OWB 10gR2 I use the Autobinding feature all my partitoning settings of the fact table are removed.
Is there any way around this "feature" so that I don't have to redefine the partitions of my fact table after each autobinding of the cube?

Hi Maurice,
if you use the autobinding the second time you´ll get duplicated objects (tables, sequences) with the suffix "_1" and these new objects don´t have the properties
you´ve designed before (for example the partitoning settings).
So, i recommend you, not to use the autobinding twice and do your binding manually if you´ve desing-changes
or autobind it multiple times, delete your old unused objects and do your properties-settings at the end ;-)
