helo everybody,currently i got a new nokia n97. phone is working fine, yesterday i updated mobile software with 11.0..x . my phone screen locks many times i tried to unlock it but it wouldnt unlock then finally i need to restart my phone then it comes in normal condition .plz give me some suggestion .i need ur helps...

Yes, the phone will often hang if you answer a call by sliding your finger across the screen. I suggest that you get used to unlocking your phone before you answer the call. There are so many people with this bug, that it's almost sure to be addressed in a future firmware update.

I was put on hold and wanted to hang up when I noticed my screen was black. No buttons would work, so I took it out of my case and tried again with no luck. I had a similar problem. I will be talking on the phone and next thing I know the screen is black & unresponsive. The apple logo comes up and than the call continues. I am not sure what is causing this but it has happened several times to me AND has also happened to a friend of mine.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

N97 Screen Lock / answering call problem.

I have an N97 with software version 11.0.021.
If my phone is locked, and someone phones, I can either answer the call or unlock the phone.
If I unlock the phone, all is OK. BUT if I choose to answer the call, when the remote caller hangs up, my screen stays black - unless I open the keyboard - but closing the keyboard causes the screen to go black again.
The only way I have found to recover from this is to power the phone off and back on again...

Exactly. The only thing that confuses people is the unlock that also shows up on the screen. This leads them to believe that the device is locked.
I think it's not just the lack of detail in the manual but, they should do away with that "unlock" feature altogether from showing up when a call comes in. I note there's two modes here; two functions actually: hardware answer key and a software GUI.
Since there's two means to answering the device, if your using the hardware key, it makes sense to have to unlock it first and, on the software means of answering, there's no need to unlock it as the swipe motion will answer the call.

Forms hanging after multiple calls to Foreign Function Interface

Can anyone help me with this problem. I'm getting a 'FRM-92100:

Java Exception:java.io.EOFException' error message when i make
two calls to a c share object file using the ORA_FFI package.
Forms will hang with that error message when I call the foreign
function more than once and when the ORA_FFI.LOAD_LIBRARY
function is executed twice.
I've tried using the ORA_FFI.UNLOAD_LIBRARY function at the end
straight after the load library plus my processes and it still
hangs with that error message.
I've got a temporary work around which is not ideal but it
works. I've made another copy of the C shared object file and
renamed it and made my second call to load this library.
I would prefer to have one shared object file and make multiple
calls to it from forms. Any suggestions?
note : running forms 6.0 on three tier architecture with web
browser.

Try incrementing a counter every time you call the function
and decrementing
it on the way out. When you hit 2640 times, stop calling it.

Screen Sharing hangs after a few minutes idle

I've enabled Screen Sharing on my Mac and am connecting from a Windows machine. I've tried connecting with TigerVNC, TightVNC, and TurboVNC clients but after about 10 minutes of no activity on the screen hangs. I'm able to move the mouse pointer, but no screen updates are sent over to the client. Reconnecting works, but it's a nuisance to have to connect every ten minutes
Any help on how to debug this would be appreciated. I bought my machine a month ago and I have the latest updates installed. Both the Mac and the VNC client are on the same LAN switch.

You could try the Vine Server (a different VNC server).

Just make sure you either give the Vine Server a different port number (for example port 5901), or you turn off the Mac OS X Screen Sharing VNC server.

Home screen goes blank after making calls with OS 4.0 (3G)

Since the OS 4.0 update, my home screen keeps going blank (black) after making/receiving a phone call. I have to turn the iPhone off and back on again to gets the Apps back up on screen.
Anyone else having this problem?

I have had a similar problem. After I make a call, the screen goes black and a random keyboard comes up and does nothing. I have to wait for a while untill it works again

Its worth a shot but try going into Settings > General > Accessibility and turn on "Reduce Motion" I think that might help...

My touch screen stops responding and then I can't switch apllications or turn it off.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."

Hp m9500z crashed, able to restart and restore, now no HP splash screen, just hangs. after unplugging power for several hours, i was able to get system running, ran disk scans for errors, no problem. few minutes after vista is up it crashed again. when restarting all fans run full speed, no hp splash screen on boot, nothing. i have tried resetting CMOS using the jumper trick, nothing. removed the battery, nothing. i have even tried the blind tricks i have seen suggested, like pressing F10 for 8 seconds, etc. during one of the last times before it totally died out i ran the BIOS system diagnosis, everything was fine. I am thinking I have a corrupted bios. Any ideas? Could be a fried motherboard, but I am hoping its not that bad. Product num nh836av-aba.

Please ensure you have some esd protection and NEVER delve into your unit without first physically unplugging it from the power at the wall

What is screen lock?

i have a big problem: i just got my iPod and didn't know the menu...so i clicked on "screen lock". and after that i couldn't get on my menu because i had to enter a 4 no. combination that of course i DON'T KNOW!!!

If you can't get it unlocked you'll need to restore it. Just be aware that restoring will erase the iPod's hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings, so if you have songs on your iPod that aren't on iTunes you will lose them if you have no back up. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions to name the iPod and automatically sync your songs and videos onto the fresh installation. Press Done and the iPod will appear in iTunes and start to sync. If you want to update manually or using selected playlists uncheck the box beside the sync automatically instruction and press Done, it will default to manual mode and you can choose whatever setting you like:

I've same problem in iPhone 5c. I was using iPhone 4, problem appears after updating to ios7. I changed my phone to iPhone 5c, looks like it's a bug in ios7. But I think you might not turn on or off your internet connection frequently to reduce this problem. My friend has a same iPhone she never gets such problem like this cause she uses iPhone 5c with Tata Docomo (India) 2g with no internet connection. May be this would be the best solve that you should not turn on or of your internet connection so frequently...

We've an article that provides the following troubleshooting steps that may help stabilize your iPhone.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let it charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.

3gs locking up while on calls and after calls...

At times (not everytime but more often than not) my 3gs locks up on me when I'm on a call, after a call, and when I try to leave a voicemail.
Locks up as in, goes black, and no matter how many times I push the home button, or try to shut the phone off as to reset, will stay on that black screen (even if the call is still active), making it so that I can't even hang up.
Only way I have been able to get around this is by turning the vibrate switch on and off. That seems to trigger the home screen to appear.
Not sure what to do. Have already been to the genius bar for this once before, for which the advice they gave me didn't help (restore etc..)
Can anyone help...?

I do use a case, however it is a see through hard case, full body, of which the entire top of phone is covered with a very thin transparent screen protector (allowing touch to work). Would this type of case be covering the sensor as you mention above? So curious as to no longer use this type of case if so.
Also... if anyone can advise me on whether it's best to set up as new phone or from back up (my prior question), I'd be so grateful. Am wanting to use backup (as to not lose my texts), but am a bit fearful I could be placing the original problem (frozen during calls) onto the new phone...?

Hello, I have a brand new SONY Xperia , Model Number D5803, Android version 5.0.2. , Baseband version 8974-AAAAANAZQ-00063-42, Kernel version 8974-perf-g3f600d1. , Build number 23.2.A.1.62.
I set a screen lock by PIN. However when I receive calls I can’t take them, because the screen in locked.
I tried to turn off the screen lock, but when I select the “ Screen lock” menu and after entering the correct PIN, the following items are not active “None”, “Slide” and “Pattern” . So I can't select “None”
The only active items are “PIN” and “Password” .
Please advice how to remove the screen lock by PIN. I hope this will help to be able to receive calls.

To enable None and Swipe options, you need to go to Settings -> Security -> Clear credentials. Then those options will become active again.
However, you should be able to take calls even when you have PIN security, can you describe what shows on the screen when you have an incoming call while screen is locked?
