N97 Slide switch doesn't always turn on the back l...

New N97, when I lock the phone and try to unlock it, the back light doesn't always turn on. I have to slide the switch two or 4 more times to get the back light to turn on.

when the phone is lock then unlocked the light light doesnt come back on and anything u press doesnt turn it back on but the slider to lock and reunlock.
Example If it lock my n07 wait 10 seconds (or until end and send lights go off) try to unlock the backlight wont come back on and while that backlight is off if i press the menu, open keybroad, any of the qwerty keys or even the power button the back light will still remain off. The only thing that seems to turn back on the backlight for me is locking then unlocking.

Can anyone esle having this problem can confirm that while the back light off try menu, open keybroad, qwerty keys and power button to reactivate the backlight.

Take it to Apple, with some money, and ask if it is eligible for an out of warranty replacement. They will not trade a new 4S for a busted 4. If you want a 4S you'll have to buy one.

Creative Zen ver1.21.01 - Screen doesn't always turn off when in lock m

The screen doesn't always turn off when we lock the player.
It's a random problem, maybe related to some screens only.
When playing songs, if we lock the player, the screen fades out a little bit and will turn off automatically after 2-3 seconds. But in some screens (try the System/Information by example), it always remains in faded-mode, even after more than 5 minutes.

It dit it again yesterday, when my album finished to play (in lock mode), I opened my case and discovered that the screen was still on.
Maybe something in the process of the playing makes the the screen turn on automatically. I usually?use playlists, maybe the screen turns on when the?play stop?
I know that's not a very important issue, but for me it's "buggy"!
I have my player since week and it froze 3-4 time, so yes I had the "chance" to use the wonderfull reset button!

Swf file exported from Captivate 2 should pause at each slide, but doesn't always

I have made a tutorial in Captivate 2 and exported it to an
swf format. In Captivate, I had put a button at the end of each
slide to pause it. I have gone back and checked to see if each
slide was correctly paused and it was. When I play it in Flash
Player 8, preview it in Captivate 2, or load it with Flash player 8
in an internet browser, most of the slides function as they should,
but randomly some slides will not pause and will just continue on
to the next one. It is different slides each time it is loaded that
do or don't pause. Does anyone know what the problem is? Is it just
a bug in Captivate?

Using Photoshop CC to make a slide show how do I turn off the crop preview

I am trying to create a slide show in Photoshop CC. I am cropping some of the pictures and I can't figure out how to turn off the crop preview.

Simply select a different tool than the Crop tool.

Web content overlay doesn't always open in the in-app browser

We are using a web content overlay in a small frame to show a series of social media share buttons. It works beautifully most of the time - when the user taps the img, the in-app browser slides up from the bottom and the share page is ready to go. Sometimes though, for no apparent reason, the share page loads inside our tiny 200x50px frame. Here's a simplified sample of the code from our index.html file that we link to:

It seems like the first time we try the share button from a new article, it loads in the frame instead of the in-app browser, but every time after it behaves correctly. Is there any way to prevent this?

I've had this problem too. Here's a solution from my notes:

Can you shorten the google bar at the top so it doesn't always cover up the personas?

This is a minor problem, but most of the personas have a graphic in the right corner and the google search bar always covers it up. Can you shorten the bar? I know this sounds inconsequential, but it seems to always cover the right side where the graphic is.

You can add Space elements at the right of the search bar in the "View > Toolbars > Customize" window to make the search bar move to the left.

After upgrading to Snow Leopard two weeks ago, I get a little square grey box under the upper-left Apple icon which doesn't move and blocks the back arrow and three buttons for minimizing, deleting, etc. Why?

unlikely your charger is bad, rather it sounds as if your IO BOARD may be defective, perform a SMC reset and re-verify same.
SMC reset
Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.
If same contact Apple for full in shop diagnostic and possible parts replacement.

Hide slide switcher when presenting?

How can I hide the slide switcher. Using an iMac for presentation with only mirroring possible. I want to be able to type <12> <enter> and goto slide 12 without everyone in the building seeing the slide switcher pop up. CEO like the "look" but asked to loose the "pop up thing" while presenting.

Welcome to the forums!
As far as I know, there is no way to keep the slide switcher hidden. If you regularly jump to set of specific slides, you can use hidden hyperlinks to jump to them and jump back, but that is not a general solution.

Try a hard reboot (hold home and power buttons down at the same time until your iPod reboots). If that doesn't work, do a restore in iTunes and do not restore from backup. You wqill lose your game data and settings, but your iPod should run better and work properly.

Your Shockwave Flash plugin probably is set to "Ask to Activate" (which means, click to play). You could try switching it to "Always Activate" on the Add-ons page. Either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins.
If Firefox only offers the options of "Ask to Activate" and "Never Activate" then most likely the version you have is on the "block list." This is a regularly updated list of add-ons that are either out-of-date or malicious. If you can approve the plugin to run as needed, then it is a "soft block" that eventually will turn into a hard block where you will not be able to enable it at all.

I'm unable to turn of the lidwake.

With my powerbooks I always turned off the setting that wakes the computer from sleep when the the button is pushed. This is essential when I travel as I don't want the thing waking up in my bag accidentally.
But this doesn't seem to work on the MacBook Pro. I tried entering in sudo pmset -a lidwake 0 and it doesn't seem to take effect. It asks for my password and then nothing. Re-entering it won't even summon a password check.
What's going on? I really, really need this feature.

it seems like apple is not supporting lidwake for the macbook or just not the version of pmset that ships with the macbook
if you run terminal and type "pmset -g" on a powerbook or ibook, you see a list of settings, one of which is "lidwake". however on the macbook this and other settings do not show in the list. oddly trying to set the lidwake flag still seems to work (it doesn't return an error code) yet apparently it does nothing.
i'm not sure what the implication is but it would be really unfortunate if this lidwaking behavior is now hard-wired.. i for one like to be able to specify when the computer turns on the old fashioned way

Turning off thumbnail caching doesn't always work

The standard solution for stopping the creation of thumb nail files doesn't always work. This assumes that since you don't display thumbnails you don't create thumb nails. Not true. If you try to move a JPG created by Windows Media Player as message is
displayed. This message asks you if you really want to move a system file. The message displays a thumbnail. So instantly a THUMBS.DB file is created. Now the whole purpose of the exercise was to move stuff out of the folder, so that after a bit of fiddling
you could reorganise & delete the folder. Now you can't delete the folder, unless you mess around and do it later. There is obviously a (non intuitive) work around. But it would be better if Microsoft allowed you to force the delete.

As far as I know there is no official way to turn off thumbnail caching. The only option in Group Policy is Turn off taskbar thumbnails.
Local Computer Policy\User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Start Menu and Taskbar\Turn off taskbar thumbnails
Do you encounter any difficult position that must disable thumbnail caching?
