Could any one tell me why, since I updated to v 20, my Software update client always says “all applications are up-to-dated”?
It was not important until now with Maps 3.3.
I ma running v20.0.19, RM-505 Language set: Spain (05), unbranded

Because all software ARE up to date on your phone. The n97 is not given the map 3.03 update. It will be available for the n97 via a firmware update which has just recently been released. If it is not available for your phone, then your product code must not yet be available for updating.
@chanchan05 - Not sure regarding the map update... I have an N97 (not mini) and when I was checking for latest software updates, I received the map update on 28 Jan.... No official news from Nokia on FW 2.1...

You already have all the free updates that are pertinent to Snow Leopard. Software Update only finds and installs free updates to your Apple software — it doesn't do anything with upgrades that must be purchased, like Lion. If you were to purchase and install Lion, Software Update would then find and offer to install all the free updates that are applicable to Lion.

Unless you have a backup from which you can restore, yes you will lose all of your data and settings.
You should be able to sync your content back to the iPad if you have been syncing with iTunes all along. If you don't sync with iTunes, you can download much of your paid content again for free as long as you use the same Apple ID. This explains downloading past purchases.

Unfortunately, at this point, you must restore the device before you can move on. There is nothing you can do to avoid it now.

Software updates - client behaviour

I deployed SUP role and clients in test collection I deployed updates to got their updates. However I noticed two "weird" things on client machines (I am talking about test environment since I am learning SCCM 2012 R2):
Update settings in Control Panel - Windows Update are not grayed-out (in production I have WSUS server and GPO pointing clients to WSUS and these settings are grayed-out - I do not have SCCM in production)
In Software Center user has complete look at update process but e.g. if user picks some update that has been installed and requires restart, in lower-right corner there is button RESTART - I did not try but I assume user (me) could have pressed this
button and in doing so installation of remaining updates would have been interrupted
How to troubleshoot this? I took a look at software updates client settings and I did not notice any settings related to problems I depicted above. In my opinion update settings should have been grayed-out and RESTART button should not have been available before
all updates are installed - then RESTART is inevitable action.

Changes to those settings won't prevent the ConfigMgr client from triggering the WUA agent for the configured scans and installations. If you want to prevent access to those features you can use GPOs.

When you change to the new router, did you re-run the CD to re-set the new SSID and password to the printer.
Otherwise your iPad will not be able "talk" to your printer.

I have exactly the same problem. iPhone 4S, never been jailbroken. Not behind a firewall and it happens whether I am on my home compute (iTunes) or directly thru Settings_Update.
Looks like loads of people are having the same problem - and as far as I can see, Apple's sole reply is jailbreak or behind firewall/ security settings/anti-virus. None of those apply here!

Well, now is probably not a good time to try it. The servers are overloaded, and if you look at most of the posts on this site right now, people are getting hung up at various points of their download and activation.
You need to hook your device up to the computer you sync with and download it via iTunes, or keep checking your device until you see IOS 7 is available.
But my advice would be to wait - otherwise you are just going to be frustrated, and unable to use your device....

How old is your Mac? If it's very recent you need to update via the App Store
If you purchased at the App Store you need to update via the App Store
Otherwise you update via Softare Update
If you have moved iPhoto from the default location (i.e. into a Folder) then the updater won't find it. Move it back.
If you have renamed iPhoto, the updater won't find it. Change it back.

N97 software update issue

hi all,
i read allot of posts and tried allot of solutions but untill now none worked for me
i use windows 7 ultimatie 64 bit, installed the ovi suite and the nokia software updater.
then why i try to update the device software it says the phone is not connected, when i then reconnect the phone i can press continue but immediatly after that its says its not connected again. even though the ovi store has it still connected and i can browse the phone from the pc aswell.. I tried different usb ports, i tried it on an win xp machine ( with same results ).
Currently my n97 had software version 1.2 i believe, when i use the phone itself to update it says no updates available.. i dont know whats wrong, because other then the update everything works normal.
If i need to post more info pls ask for it

Hi, don't know if it will help, but try removing all nokia/ovi software from your computer and run Nokia PC cleaner, then re-install, this has worked for me when I've had connectivity problems (but on Vista) Currently have Widows 7 and both NSU and Ovi suite work fine. You can also download drivers from Nokia web site !

Every single time I attempt to update my n97 it fails. Nokia Software Updater won't even pick up the phone at all. Ovi Suite detects the phone and detects an update is available gets to the update part of the process and fails calling it a 'connection problem'

N97 software update ready for black not white vers...

is anyone else in the uk amazed that Nokia have released the software update for the N97, but it is only available for the Black not white version of the phone?
I am truly amazed. Its not like they are different phones. . .is it?

I purchased a Nokia n97 in white and after 2 weeks my front screen wouldn't load and I couldn't connect to the internet,the phone I purchased was sim free and cost me 500 pounds,I checked for updates to rectify the problem because after reading on these sites it was a common problem and the update would fix it... Anyway there were no updates so i contacted nokia themselves and i got an email back saying
"We are unable to provide information on the features for future software updates or product releases ahead of time. All available information on our products can be found from the relevant support pages on our website.
Please note that unfortunately there is no information yet as to the release dates for the Nokia Software updater for the model N97 as product releases are country and market dependant."

i've since swapped the phone (after some faffing about) for a Nokia n97 in black,I turned the phone on and after 5 minutes I got a message saying important updates available,the firmware 11. was available after 5 minutes of me having the phone,i've not moved its from the same shop an i'm using the same sim,why send an email out saying they don't know when its going to be available,why not just put we've done it for the black we just don't know when its gonna be ready for the white!! so far i've had no problems but its only been a day!!

Software updates - Clients stuck in passed/Inactive, passed/Active

I've deployed some software updates (an update group that has a deployment package of Windows Software Updates) to a small collection, but for the past couple days since I kicked off the deployment, all the assets in the collection are just
sitting with either of these two statuses.
There's no maintenance window on this collection, and deployment schedule was set to "As Soon As Possible".
I've tried running Software Updates Deployment Evaluation and Software Updates Scan Cycles multiple times thoughout the day but the clients do not appear to be pulling down any updates yet.
What should I be checking for at this point? Or just wait a couple days?

When it comes to maintenance windows, they just dont affect the clients that reside in the collection where the maintenance window is configured. If you have configured Coll1 to include all of your clients, and configured a maintenance window on
that collection, if you then created Coll2 and added some of your clients to that, those clients would still get the configured maintenance window from Coll1. So check if you don't have any maintenance windows configured on another collection where you clients
are members of.

can sombody please tell me why i cant seem to access the software update program on my computer? has anyone met this problem before?......
i have installed ovi suite on my computer and have tried for some time now to even get the program to work, i have un-installed and re-installed ovi a couple times to no avail. i have also downloaded the update program directly from nokia.com.au but still no matter what i do the program just will not open.
when i try and open the update program on my computer it loads for around 2 mins and then comes up with configuration error, saying updater has detected a config error. so i click the more help option and i gives me info on how to check ports and all that **bleep**. after doing everything the help there suggests i still cant get updater to even open and it recommends me here.
so here i am, can anyone help?

Just had another thought. A lot of people are complaining about Norton Products at the moment. Apparently there is a bug in some of their software. I suggest you completely uninstal Nortons through add/remove programs and then go to the symantec site and download their removal tool. Run that tool which will clean up the registry and remove all traces of the norton software. Then reinstall Ovi suite from the DVD that you have or from the download which i assume you have saved in a file on your hard drive. If Ovi suite installs and works as it should then you can reinstall Norton 360 complete and see what happens. I think your problem is either with Nortons or with the Vista program on your laptop. Is it possible to try installing ovi suite on a windows xp computer. Ovi suite works fine on my desktop using xp but I am having problems with my hp laptop running xp. I believe the problem is with Nortons Internet security 2010. On my desktop I am running Internet security 2005 and do not have a problem but I have been told there is a bug in Norton programs from 2006 onwards. At this stage I am thinking of ditching Nortons. When I uninstall Nortons from my laptop it works fine. As soon as I reinstall Nortons the laptop freezes and crashes. So it could be your norton product that is the problem.
