N97 some widgets won't open

I'm having some problems with certain widgets not opening. I click the icon in the menu and the widget starts to open but will soon shut down with no error message or anything.
I tried to remove the widgets that are malfunctioning but the icons will not disappear from the menu. I think this all started after installing Evernote Beta widget.
Is it possible to get rid of those icons and try to re-install some of the widgets manually or do I have to hard reset? I really wouldn't want to hard reset.

@jheel_online this is a user to user forum, the idea is that people give and recieve help and advice, if you wish to complain to nokia contact them direct. You copying and pasting the same comment onto every post regarding the N97 is not helping anyone, people have posted it 100's of times before !!! IT'S OLD NEWS

    Try close all inactive apps
    1. Double tap the home button to bring up the multi-tasking view
    2. Swipe up on the screenshot of the app you want to exit.
    3. The app will fly off the screen

  • Some apps won't open after OS X Mavericks update

After the update to OS X Mavericks, some apps won't open on my macbook pro.  That include things like preview, boot camp assistant, from what I've tried so far. When I click on those from applications menu or from the spotlight search, the icon appear on the dock very briefly(like 1 sec) and nothing happened after that. Based on the internet search, I tried the Disk permissions repair and didn't work. Any suggestions? Thanks

  • SOME pdfs won't open...

    Dear all,
My problem is kind of odd as you can see in the title...
So some pdfs won't open neither in web browsers (Chrome, Firefox and Safari) nor in Preview. The odd part is that some do open normally both in browsers and Preview.
I deleted the AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin but it doesn't solve the problem.
Anyone has an idea about what can be wrong?
    Thanks for your help,
    Poteyuh
NB: I have a mac mini with Maverick on it and a MacBookPro (13" Mid 2009) with OS X 10.7.5

    https://www.formulaires.modernisation.gouv.fr/gf/showFormulaireSignaletiqueConsu lter.do?numCerfa=13754
For instance, the pdf Formulaire 13754*02 on the right side won't open.

  • Some applications won't open after updating to OS 10.8.5

I am running the Mountain Lion on a 2009 Macbook Air. I just did an update to 10.8.5 and now some of my applications won't open. A few of the appications that no longer run are Chrome, iPhoto and all Microsoft applications.
I tried uninstalling an reinstalling the apps but that did nothing, I also tried creating a new user account to see if the problem persisted in there and it did. I then tried removing my caches folder from Library which also fixed nothing. I then tried booting it in safe mode and the applications successfully opened in there.
I obviously can't just boot my Macbook up in safe mode whenever I need to use it so if anyone knows how this problem could be solved? They were all functioning normally before I did the most recent update of OS.
I have tried repairing the disk permissions but that resulted in no change also. I do not have the start up disk for Mountain Lion so reinstalling the OS is not possible, nor is booting from disk.
I'm in my final year of college, in the middle of my final year project I REALLY need this fixed.

When I try to open iPhoto, Unity, Chrome or a few others it gives me the same error each time. "iPhoto cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure iPhoto works with this version of OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X"
But that doesn't make sense because I just updated the OS and all my applications are up to date also. I've tried reinstalling, no joy though.

  • Raw files saved to jpeg via bridge but now some jpegs won't open in CS5

I saved Raw files to jpeg via bridge but now some of the jpegs won't open in CS5, they only open in bridge?  How do I get them to open up in photoshop instead?

I'm not quite sure of your workflow, but here's a couple of things to try:
    1. Make sure the folder to be batch processed contains only JPEGs.
    2. In Bridge, go to Camera Raw Preferences (not Bridge Preferences) and change JPEG and TIFF Handling to Disable JPEG support. This should ensure that all JPEGs open directly in Photoshop.

  • Recent update OS10.5 to 10.6 to Lion. Using Pages (4.1) only some documents won't open. At Genius bar loaded new copy Pages; reloaded Lion clean install. Still won't open although will on another computer. What now?

Pages question: recent update OS10.5 to 10.6 to Lion. Using Pages (4.1) only some documents intermittently
won't open. At Genius bar loaded new copy Pages; reloaded Lion clean install. Still won't open although will on another computer. On the other Mac (running Lion), saved a copy of a document with a new name and sent it back to first computer. At first it would open, but now it as well as multiple other Pages documents won't open. What now?

    yes;
I got Pages to work now- there were two versions, one Universal, and one Intel- by moving the Universal to trash ( although I can't delete it) and moving Intel version to iWorks folder in Applications, it is now working. Doesn't explain why it didn't work though- the other MacBook pro 17 inch that could open all the Pages documents also has two copies of Pages as I see now....
I still however can't open Numbers documents on the MacBook pro 15 inch.... it is a Universal version of Numbers.

  • IBooks Author HTML5 Widget won't open in full screen

    Hi,
I am building a ebook using iBooks Author, the ebook includes HTML5 widgets on several of the pages. Upon testing the book on desktop the HTML5 widgets work as they should (opening in full screen). However, when I test this on the latest iPad air, the widgets don't open in full screen. Instead they open as tiny thumbnails inside the space of the widgets icon. Has anyone else had this problem, and found a solution for it?
(P.S I have tested the ebook on older versions of the iPad as well, and on them the widgets open as they're supposed to - in full screen - so I am wondering if this is potentially a bug on the newer iPads?)

Mountain Lion is set up to close windows when you quit a program instead of saving them. To change this, put Safari in full-screen mode, move the cursor to the top, open Safari menu while holding Option key and close Safari from the menu.
If you want to do it automatically with all programmes, open System Preferences > General, and deactivate "Close windows when quitting an application"

  • Some sites won't open link in new tab

Hi all, i always use cmd-click to open lots of links on a web page in tabs. lately i've been noticing that this does not work on certain sites. for example, on seekingalpha.com, it doesn't matter if i hold down the cmd key, the new link opens in the current window, no new tab. i emphasize that cmd-click works normally for me on most sites.
my question is, is it possible to design your web page so cmd-click doesn't work? has anyone else noticed this?
    tia...tom

    Hi Tom
yes you can do that - that site uses a javascript function
    onclick="trackLink...
to force some clicked links to open in the same window/tab - you can override it via ctrl-click in this case, or temporarily turn javascript off in the Develop menu, or there are extensions & other add-ons for Safari to block certain javascript on a site.

    Hi!
So, certain webpages simply won't open!
I have a wireless network set up, and my laptop can open them while connected to the same network, my iPod too.
I've tried everything , from setting my MTU(gave no results), cleaning my cookies(as FF help suggests), but nothing works.
The webpages just say that there was a problem with loading the page, although it loads on an another computer.
    Help please!

  • Some folders won't open properly. Why?

Ever since upgrading to Mountain Lion (from Lion), there are a couple of folders that won't open properly. This isn't a huge deal, but it is annoying. I tried logging out and in again, repairing permissions, and verifying the disk, and none of them fixes this. Here is an example of the problem:
I open a new Finder window, and it starts out by showing my user folder as it should. Then I click the 'Downloads' folder to open it up. But what I then see, in the actual Finder window, is the user folder - just like before! - except the icons are a little bit farther apart (the toolbar says it's the Downloads folder). This also happens with a couple of the other folders, like Music and Pictures.
The folder itself is fine - I can open the Downloads folder from the Dock, for example. I just can't do it from an existing Finder window. Why not? How do I fix this?

Also: Setting the Finder to always open folders in a new window DID fix this, but I'd rather not do that if I can avoid it.

  • Should I downgrade from iOS 6.1.3 to 6.1.2? Because some apps won't open. It keeps on crashing.

Tap tap, GarageBand, and other apps won't open. Is it about the firmware?

You cannot downgrade the iOS since it is not supported. This support article explains how to trouble shoot 3rd party apps on the iPad.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1702
If all third party apps will not open, try downloading another app. Any free app will work or any already purchased app that is not currently on the iPad.
If the troubleshooting article doesn help, I would try this. Close all apps and reboot the iPad.
Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Some apps won't open on first click?

    Hi!
    I have a MacBook Pro 15" (late-2011 model) with 4GB memory, and a 500GB hardrive.
It's running on Mountain Lion and everytime I shut it down, I leave the box unticked for resuming applications.
When I turn it back on, and want to open an application that's in the Dock, sometimes, it won't open. For instance, today, Safari was opening and I wanted to open iTunes too, but, when I clicked on iTunes in the dock, it didn't do anything, if I clicked it again, it'd to that 'funk' sound. If I repeatedly click the app for 2-3 seconds, it'd then open.
Does anyone know why this is happening and how I could fix it please? It was doing it when I had Lion so I downloaded Mountain Lion thinking it might fix it if it was due to any bugs in Lion or anything. I also downloaded a free virus scanner to check if there were any kinds of viruses that were making this happen, but there was nothing found.
    Thanks!

  • Downloaded Widgets won't open

I have downloaded several widgets, opened them, chose 'keep' and they do nothing. They freeze as if they are loading but that's as far as they get. I've tried things like starry night, and the same thing, it shows in my downloads, I open it (if it didn't open by itself), and nothing comes up. Any thoughts?

I have thought of that, however, my husband has the same os version and widgets that he installed on his computer, won't come up on mine. I guess its possible that its related to the intel chip that is in my mac?

  • Some Applications Won't Open

Hi. So, just randomly one day some of the application on my Mac stopped opening and it's been a few days and they still won't. I tried shutting the computer down and restarting it, deleting a lot of stuff, and even using different accounts but nothing seems to be changing anything. Most of the applications are fine but Pages, Numbers, iPhoto, and maybe some other ones I haven't tried yet just aren't opening. When you click on them it says they're open but there's nothing on the screen. You can quit out of the application but really... there's nothing to quit out of. And if you leave it "open" for long enough then when you click on it it tells you to force quit. I'd really appreciate some help on how to fix this because nothing seems to be working. Thanks!

You could check in the various logs in Console (in Utilities) for any messages that appear to be related. Might also not hurt (but maybe not help) to run Permissions repair in Disk Utility.
