N97 Suggestions - Not bugs

1 - On SMS's a display like the iPhone would be nice, where they show the conversation between you and a phone number (name)
2 - A way to mark SMS's with out having to click OPTIONS -> MARK/UNMARK ->MARK. What would be sweet is to be able to draw and X or check mark on the message to mark.
3 - A way to send PHOTOS to the PHONE and be able to view them, like a photo album, and not just display photos you take or receive from a MMS (We love you for being able to do MMS's iPhone may get it working this year in the USA) But want a way to organize and store images sent from your PC/MAC
I'm sure I'll have more.

i get files to my phone with a memory card reader for big thinks like audio books movies etc.
fr smaller thinks i use ftp .. look up sic-ftp ... works great
i have a couple of suggestions too..
add back a stylus with a slot to put in the back cover like the 5800.. send use a different back cover with a slot for the stylus.
2. xeon flash that you can turn on optionally
3. higher power fm transmitter.. basically unuseable...
4. and finally ADD BACK the full screen landscape touch keyboard that was in the 5800 and the mini qwerty keyboard.. why did you get rid of these... do you hear.. we dont want to always open the phone and use the other kbd

As I mentioned earlier, you have to decide which calendar you want to use. You can either use Google or iCloud, but not both.
If you want to use your iCloud calendar, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Calendar section) and set this to your iCloud calendar. After doing so, all new events you add to your calendar will be added by default to your iCloud calendar, and as a result, will appear on icloud.com and your computer (if it is syncing calendars with your iCloud account).
If, on the other hand, you want to use your Google calendar (as it sounds like you are doing with your iPod), simply add the same Google calendar to your phone and your computer.

N97 does not charge. HELP!

my n97 does not seem to charge! the handset recognises the charger is plugged in and the bars on the screen shows its charging but the charge doesnt seem to reach the battery, iv changed the battery for a new one and i get the same thing happen any ideas whats going on??

Is your problem due to the keyboard or to NeoOffice Characters? You have to change probably the font. Not all fonts are supporting all Unicode sets. Which font you have in your NeoOffice set to write Tamil? Try with Arial Unicode MS for example.
Are the letter e-Ex and ai-Ex right in your posting? If they are right, how you inserted these letters in your posting? By copy and paste or by typing? If by typing, your question is related to NeoOffice. Probably you should reinstall or update NeoOffice? Or switch to OpenOffice?

Z10 auto suggest not working for email addresses

My Z10 will suggest contacts from my address book. However!!-- it won't auto suggest not in contacts. On my previous BB's, I could start typing, and it would begin to suggest addresses I'd written to/received mail from before. I hope I'm not confusing so here's an example. I only recall the first letters of an old friend's email but not the rest. Or I received a mail from a company, want to contact again, and can't find the email. Why won't my device do this? I don't and never have added everything to contacts. Have latest update . Thx for any help.

That is correct. The BlackBerry Z10 will only suggest the most frequently used contacts. If the email address is not in your contacts list, it will not appear as a suggestion.

N97 - volume not working on home screen

Hey all - My latest n97 undocumented feature (read bug) is that when I'm on the home screen I cannot adjust the volume using the hard keys. It does work if I go into the music player but when I come back out to the home screen it still doesn't work. The phone is definitely unlocked.
Any ideas? Anybody else having this problem?
I really want to like this phone but lots of bugs like this added to the too small amount of RAM plus the design flaw in the camera lens cover makes it very hard.
Hopefully some of these bugs will be fixed in future firmware updates but Nokia you should've put more RAM in this device. I suspect you know this already and when you come out with the N97 v2 with more RAM it will just be an admission that you made a mistake. I won't be buying it and I won't be buying another Nokia. I also have a scratch, not yet affecting image quality but given that I've taken really good care of the phone I think it will be just a matter of time until I get a scratch across the lens or flash.

Its a memory leak problem I think. A simple restart will fix it.

N97 Fm transmitter BUG

Hello i'm the owner of a nokia n97,laster sofware version 21.0.0.045v.I can't activate the fm transmitter.I selecte it and it asks me if i want to activate it (yes/no )but i select yes and nothing i mean nothing happens it just stays turned off

It's a pain to do, but it's often advisable to reset the phone after a software upgrade, as there could be conflict between the settings you had on the previous software and the new version !
If you decide to do it, backup your contacts, calendar and notes ONLY, dial *#7370# followed by 12345 and the phone will reset, you will need to set it up as though it was a new phone, and it should resolve your problem, if the FM transmitter still fails to work it may be a hardware issue and you will need a care centre. I have an N97 on the same firmware and it works fine !

N97 Nokia Messaging bug

I'm using Nokia Messaging on the N97. I've noticed a bug. When I choose the menu which lets you switch between different email accoutns, pressing the screen brings up the menu as you would expect, however pressing the screen again to select a particular email account does not work.
Instead I have to open the keyboard and use the D-pad instead.

I know it will be hard for you to reply but I would like to bring in your notice about Memory issue on N97. You mentioned in your post that by default it takes 2 KB for each message. When I install it on my N97 , I have 49 MB left. It was 51 before. After that It started snycronisation and memory was dropped to 41 MB after that.
My question if your statement is correct, it cannot ideally never eat so much memory. I am forced to use MFE for mail as i can limit the days to three and i think that stores the mails on Mass memory.
Now question is,
Would it be possible to use Nokia Messaging for us ?? Do you think wtih 10 MB used by Nokia Messaging on N97 is affordable while N97 is already a victim of Nokia negligence regarding hardware part.

Apex 5 Page Designer Suggestion and Bug

Hi Apex Team,
I would like to make a suggestion and report a bug related to the Page Designer.
1. When editing the properties of an item on the Page Designer, there are two “CSS Classes” options, one under Appearance and another under Advanced (Show All options). My guess is they refer to the Item CSS Classes and HTML Form Element CSS Classes from the Component/Tree View; but this is not obvious for someone that comes new to Apex straight to the Page Designer. I would suggest renaming one of them with a more meaningful name to remove ambiguity.
2. On the same item’s property on the Page Designer, by going to the List of Values Icon (^) of the CSS Classes or Custom Attributes, after the popup window opens, by clicking twice on the Go (>) button, the results are quadruplicated, even worse by quickly clicking multiple times. This does not happen for the Format Mask popup window.

Saving the pivot view as primary default report works fine. When you defined the pivot, did you save the setting as primary default settings (Actions > Save Report > Save As Default Report Settings, select primary)? Once you save, the report will display in pivot view when you come back to the page or reset the report. If there is still an issue, please let me know the reproducible steps.

N97 Mini Notes traveler connection error

I have installed Notes traveler on Nokia N97 Mini. I could log on to our corporate Notes traveler server, download the client and installed it also. On completing the installation, Initial sync starts. I could never got it completed. I get an error "connection with serverort 80 lost initial sync not completed" exactly after 1 minute sync starts. I have might have tried and retried over 100 times with no success. Any suggestions?

I have experienced the "Connection error" problem for the past 6 months on the N97 Mini. There are no software updates to fix the problem and I have had the phone replaced 3 times by Vodafone. I have also had the SIM card swapped. Unfortunately, none of the above has worked.
The error does not seem to have a particular pattern, but happens several times a day, sometimes near the start of a call, sometimes 15 mins or so in. It doesn't seem to matter whether I am calling someone else or they are calling me. I'm not sure whether it matters if the other person is on a landline or a mobile. It also seems unrelated to the actual network signal I have.
The call goes silent and the then drops off with the error message "Connection error" on screen.
This is incredibly embarrassing if you're in the middle of a business call as it would appear to the other person that you have deliberately cut them off.
A software/firmware fix for this would be appreciated as it is difficult to use this device adequately for its main purpose: as a phone!

N97 alarm not sound at configured time

I need help, urgently. I just got my n97 for 2 week now my alarm not working on a stable condition.
I configure my alarm at 6:30 am for workday (mon-fri) but it never alert me at 6:30 am but at a later time like 6:34 am. So I change it to 6:25 am and it alerted the alarm at 6:30 am, why ??? I configure my timezone at Singapore timezone and time change automatic to on mode. Snooze at 3 minute. Had I left out something. By the way, I set my profile to silent mode. But it should not affect as I used to do that with my old Sony Ericson.

I had this problem last week! I must say this is the worst phone I have ever had in my life. Everything takes twice as long to do than other phone because of the stupid menus and time it takes to open applications.
My alarm did not go off at all. I called my boss who was not pleased at all and gave me an massive **bleep** kicking over the phone. In complete desperation (as the phone would not switch back on, I was only presented with a white screen with the blue nokia logo) I had to hard reset the phone (3 finger solute).
I was told this was an issue with the firmware so I HAD to get the new firmware on the phone. 3 UK were still on version 11.x.x and I knew version 20.x.x was available so I debranded my phone. I am not on version 20.x.x.x and I still have the problem. Luckily my other half is getting up the same time as me this week and her alarm went off the other day and my alarm did not sound at all. I powered on the phone which took around 5 attempts (when i pressed the power key it vibrated and the screen went white, then did nothing and switched off) and no alarm sounded.
THIS IS MY LAST ATTEMPT!
Someone mentioned that if you switch the phone to automatically update the date/time it will sort the problem. I have done this but if the phone does not sound the alarm again this week the phone can go back to Nokia and I will take them to court if they do not clear/pay for my contract with 3 as I am moving to another network. This phone is full of bugs, nobody seems to be bothered to fix them, Nokia are bringing out the N900 and seem to be spending all of their time on that. I am going to buy a sony with a windows mobile O/S or something with the android O/S by HTC.

N97 does not power on at all - only blue light sho...

Hi all,
purchased a used N97 the other day, which according to the seller had sustained a virus when opening an email. He told me it wouldn't power on, I was hoping it could be solved with hard reset and took the plunge, but unfortunately no luck.
Symptoms:
* When the charger is connected, the blue light on the upper right corner of the phone lights up
* When I push the power on button, the blue light on the upper right corner of the phone lights up
* When I try to hard reset..... take a wild guess.... aye, the blue light on the upper right corner of the phone lights up
Now I'm not sure whether the guy spoke the truth about the virus, he might as well have been attempting to flash the firmware or whatsoever. My question is if anybody recognises the phenomenon, and if there's a cure or possible suggestion of how to problem solve this error?

You're probably right that it's a fake - had a closer look last night and saw that for one the LCD isn't the size it's supposed to be either:
Measured diagonally the screen is 2.95", not 3.5". It's apparently a clone, although I haven't managed to find anything resembling it on eBay or google - the known clones only have 2Gb, this one does have 32Gb according to lettering on the mechanism under the front lid when it slides open. Might add that it feels sturdy and all, so it's at least a half-decent clone (albeit broken )
Trying to get my money back but seller insists it's original. Luckily I didn't pay a lot for it and it seems I can at least use the battery in my current E90. Let's hope that's a good quality fake battery at least

sorry for my bad english but the phone has no sound on the keyboard only for calls. To send messages, writte, add contact, the virtual keyboard sound goods.
The image explain my problem, the icons below sound bip, but the number, the +* and #,1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 has not sound.
I have the last firmware (v20). I made a soft reset, hard reset, remove the battery.
