N97 Transition Effect Problem

As you all know that the N97 user interface is not attractive due to the lack of the real transition effects, my 5800 have a nice iphone like transitions, but for the N97 the transition effect is very simple! Only some sliding menus and that’s it!! I wonder where is the screen orientation swivel effect we've seen in early N97 prototype videos? However, once I enable the transition effects on my N97 it will start to become unstable with crashes and it will affect some other programs like the photo gallery (will hang sometimes and gives low res pictures or just the whole program will go to the background while using the zoom button!) and the Web browser will start to display mid and large websites without images!!! I tried to reload the page so many times but only the text appears without any image! After trying so many times at last the page loaded successfully with all images but my happiness didn't last as I discovered that the phone turned off the transition effects automatically! When I went to the themes menu to check, it was turned on but actually it’s not working as the phone disabled it in order to load the web page! It happened to my three times since I updated my firmware last week (V 11)! I think this is because of the lack of enough RAM, I removed all the online widgets from the home screen (like facebook and accuweather) and just used contacts, programs, calendar, email, and music shortcuts which gave me additional 5 MB of free RAM and the phone felt more stable but still can’t handle the transition effects and proper Web pages display simultaneously! My 5800 handles web pages better and display all images even if the transition effects are turned on! I hope Nokia will fix these issues and gives us an option to disable the Widgets and Kinetic scrolling (Make the UI just like the 5800) in order to have more free RAM and enjoy full transition effects and proper Web Browsing with better stability just like the 5800.

Any updates on the effects? I wrote to Nokia support, I'm in Russia, they replied.
I have illustrated my question with the links to youtube where it is clearly visible how the UI rotates and other animation effects when opening the widgets.
My translation of the official reply:
"In firmware version 11 those effects do work! Try to resent the phone to the factory settings by typing: *#7780#, standard lock code is - 12345 or try to format the phone memory. Do your data and contacts back up using PC Suite . enter *#7370# (formats phone memory), enter the code 12345 the phone will resent. Then restore your back up."

N97's transition effects aren't as cool as 5800XM,...

even with theme effects turned on, i hardly see any transition effents on my N97 other than that animation while swiping on the standby screen. My friends cheaper 5800XM has better transition effects while opening and closing items. Why? Both use the same processor and have the same amount of RAM eh?

Unfortunately, i don't have any transition effects other than the homescreen swipe animation available on every other theme.
Makes me think again, the N97 isn't capable of 5800xm like transition effects. It's not just about the theme in use, it's about the device in which it is being used as well. With the same hardware, the N97 cannot display 5800XM like animations even while using a 5800XM theme. What is this, another firmware incapability?

N97 V12 Transition Effects

As I haven’t updated to v12 yet (think I will wait until V20), I was wondering if any who have updated have found the transition effects speed improved.
Personally, I deactivated this function a week after gaining my N97:
Settings>Themes>General>Options>Theme effects: yes/no.
This turned my N97 into a touch screen N95, but I gained better performance and stability. Does V12 offer improved theme effect speed and stability?

Neighter V12,neighter V20 will not comme with something new regarding transitions,maybe just a little speed improovment,but that's all!

Keynote '09: 2 transition effects per slide initiated by 2 hyperlinks?

I want to do a flip book. So far it looks great.
I'm using forward and back hyperlinks to transition b/w slides.
Problem: I can only get one style of transition effects/slide, so when I flip back to a previous slide the flip animation looks like I'm flipping forward.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Which had this part buried in it:
Remove the navigation (rip out the hyperlinks), set the presentation to run as a Normal Presentation, then Share>QuickTime>Fixed Timing. That's right, I said Fixed Timing. Turns out me and a lot of other people (and yes, some tier 1 support folk at Apple) misunderstood Fixed Timing. Fixed Timing lets a Normal presentation run with the audio and moves on to the next slide when the audio is finished - which is exactly what I wanted (the QuickTime controls automatically appear after the movie is rendered). Slide Duration is actually the delay between slides so set this to 1 second and Build Duration affects the timing of the Builds, but I also set this to 1 second since it was destined for web delivery (bandwidth!).
I struck thru the first part b/c that wasn't relevant to my issue, BUT... what WAS relevant was removing all of my carefully timed slide delay transitions, then using the above method. It worked flawlessly, as far as I can tell. It seems without documentation or help of any kind (that I could find) no one, even Apple support staff, knows what the true function of Fixed Timing is supposed to be. So hopefully, if someone else stumbles across this post, they'll be able to do the right thing, from the start and not waste hours with expensive or additional programs and work arounds.
Follow the above method and still get your timed HD quality Quicktime .mov.

Enabling transition effects window pane

I'm playing around with CS5.5 and currently reached tutorial 6: Applying transitions in Adobe Premiere Pro, on the CS5.5 tutorial list.
My problem involves showing the transition pane in the CTI. The disolve transition effect works in video when I click and drag the effect between two video panes but it's not producing one for its self. Because of this I can't expand the time of the transition.
Perhaps someone could offer a solution so the Cross Disolve pane appears, or a work around that allows me to adjust the interval length.
I'm sure the answer is quite simple but I'm pretty new to this so thanks for your patience.

I read that over but my transition effects between clips are still not manageable. The clips don't show up in the effects panel nor can I click on the transition effect in the effects panel.

Page transitions effects

I've looked around a lot, but I have not been able to find
any tutorial explicitly going over just how to design transition
effects between pages (i.e., the effect through which the Home page
loads, and how to smoothly dissapear its content when the viewer
clicks to go to a different page, and the same thing for all pages
basically).
I've learned the basics of motion and shape tweening, as well
as masking (using tweens), and some basic actionscript, however,
with various content on my pages it does not allow me to do a
mask/tween nor is it at all a practical solution for my specific
problem: again, I want the pages to load up and dissapear smoothly
with some sort of effect. I have set the pages up using labels.
Any input, or link to a descent tutorial on the subject would
be greatly appreciated.

While they're pretty terse, the InDesign Help files are pretty clear about whether things can be exported or not.
For example:
"Movies and sound clips you add to a document can be played when the document is exported to Adobe PDF or SWF, or when you export the document to XML and repurpose the tags." (Doesn't mention FLA files.)
or
"Page transitions display a decorative effect such as a dissolve or wipe when you’re turning pages in a document that is exported to SWF or PDF format. You can apply different transitions to different pages, or you can apply a single transition to all the pages. Page transitions are especially useful when you create a slideshow in PDF or SWF format." (Doesn't mention FLA files.)
or
"Animation effects let you make objects move in your exported SWF files. For example, you can apply a motion preset to an image that makes it appear to fly in from the left side of the screen while shrinking and spinning. Use the following tools and panels to animate documents." (Doesn't mention FLA files.)
But:
"When you export your InDesign document to FLA file format, you can open the file in Adobe Flash® CS5 Professional to edit the contents. Exporting to FLA in InDesign CS5 format replaces XFL export in InDesign CS4. Use the Flash authoring environment to edit or add video, audio, animation, and complex interactivity." (The last sentence says you should do those things in Flash Professional.)

Thumbnail Buttons in Transition Effect Ga;;ery

I have used the attached code to apply transition effects to
a JPEG This code works great but when I try to install thumbnail
buttons using loadclip or loadmovie the JPEG loads with out the
effect or doesn't load at all. What can I do to get my thumbnails
to load JPEG's with transitions when clicked?

its probably that your image isn't displaying fully loaded
when you call the function. I know you script appears to have that
solved, but try this...
ad trace("HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA")
to your onLoadInit function.
ad trace("BOOOO YOU SUCK")
to your onLoadComplete function.
Just mess around with those and see if that might be your
problem. I'm actually unsure, I'm not on my main machine with my
code snippets. Good Luck!

"Fall" or "Caída" transition effect

Hi,
First of all, I have the Spanish version of iWork 08. Before that, I had iWork 06, also in Spanish. In that version, there was a 3D effect called "Caída" (or "Fall" in English, i supose). On the 08 version of Keynote, that effect dissapeared, but there is a 2D effect called also "Caída". I have checked in the preferences the option for showing obsolete animations and, apparently, this problem is only on the Spanish translation.
My theory is this: In English, there are two differents effects that in the Spanish translation, they are both called "Caída". Since they have the same name, the transition selector shows only one of them (the 2D version in this case).
I think this because I have a presentation made with iWork 06 that uses the 3D version of "Caída" and when I open it with iWork 08 and play it, the transitino is shown perfectly... but if i change it to another, i can't select it again....
Is it possible that my problem is because this issue with translations conflicts?

Anyway, I did some tests and I found the following: If I examine the contents of the Keynote.app package, there is file, Contents/Resources/Animations/Bolt.sfxplugin/Contents/Resources/Spanish.lproj/L ocalizable.strings. If I change the line
"Fall FallBuild" = "Caída";
for
"Fall FallBuild" = "Caída3D";
The "Caída" 3D transition effect appears again in the inspector . The only bad thing is that the 2D "Caída" effect dissapears... the 2D "Caída" transition effect is the same effect that can be applied to objects and is called, again, "Caída". That effect is apparently translated in this file:
Contents/Frameworks/SFAnimation.framework/Versions/A/Resources/Spanish.lproj/Loc alizable.strings
in the line
"Drop Bounce" = "Caída";
So, I don't know exactly what, but apparently there is an issue with this...

Opening transition effect of some apps

I think something have issues In xperia softwares.
Because opening transition effect ( open app from bottom on top) of some apps such as whatsapp / viber / google play store and are not ok..
I mean sometimes opening transition effect works but sometimes apps opens suddenly without any transition effect.
But in other brands such as sumsong touchwiz all of transition effects works correctly.
What is problem of software.. Plz tell this to developers

Well, it's hard to say what's causing this. If you have a lot of apps running and the phone use a lot of ram memory it might be a bit slower but this is usually not noticeable. I suggest that you try to repair the phone software using PC Companion..

Third party Flash transition effects

Can third party transition effects be used in Catalyst?

The effect code would not be accessible to Catalyst. You can use Flash Profession to animate the item with the effect you want, then import that swf into Flash Catalyst. FC does allow you to play and stop a swf.
The imported swf should be published with player 10.1 as the target.

How do I create an orange flash transition effect using Adobe Premiere CS6?

I am trying to create an orange flash transition effect using Adobe Premiere CS6 with my MAC computer.

Try this:
Add Cross Dissolve, cut and nest
Add a Fast Blur to the nest and tweak as in first screendump
Superimpose orange Color Matte and tweak as in second screendump
Make (fixed) effects into presets for future use.

DVD Menu Transition Effects

I have successfully created a motion graphic DVD menu in AE, which I have rendered to be authored in Encore. The theme is horror/thriller with thriller theme for the BG music. There are two(2) selecitons on the main menu:
Play Movie Bonus Features
When the user chooses Play Movie, I would like a transition effect leading to the main video to be played. And maybe a different transition effect when the user selects Bonus Features before getting into the submenu of bonus features.
Can anyone sugguest any resources (e.g., books, manuals, blogs, video resources, courses, etc.) that can provide a tutorial on how to perform the procedure(s) in AE and EN?

N97 Wi-Fi Problems

I have just received my N97, and was wondering if anybody would kindly help with the following problem:
My N97 connects, no problem, to my home network, using wi-fi, however, if i attempt to open, any of the pre-installed apps ( i-player, Facebook etc) the N97 automatically attempts to connect via gprs.
I cannot find any settings, that allow me to change the app settings.

Under Connectivity you will find a folder named "Destinations" where you will be able to setup multiple access points under one connections point. i.e mine defaults to a Connection point named "Internet" where I have 3 access points
WLAN
Orange Internet
Orange Java
I have prioritized em in that order so when my WLAN is out of range the phone should automatically search for the next priority access point in this case Orange Internet and if that ain't available then it should search for and connect to Orange Java.
After you set this up make make it your default access point for your browser and every other app that allows you to define an access point.
Hope this helps I'd advise you to download the User guide and read the whole "Connectivity" Chapter to fully understand this.

Is there a "Flash or White Wash" transition effect in FCP?

Hey guys,
I'm trying to get a transition effect of a "white Wash or like a Flash" in FCP5? It's an effect you see on tv when people get a make over from looking bad to looking really cool with a transition that looks like a flash or white wash.

I'm actually a fan of a combination of both Tom's and Andy's method.
Being old enough to remember film and the cool effects you'd get when stopping the camera (a number of frames that went to white as the film slowed in the gate to a stop-- number of frames depended totally on the camera. Asynchronous cameras were usually longer 6 frames or so, and the Arri's were usually 2 at most.)
Anyway, if you warp out a frame or two with the CC and use them in your opacity ramp, you can get some really cool stuff.

- We were not animating the postLayout properties in some cases where we should have, effectively pinning the object in place. We now animate those properties whenever applyChangesPostLayout is true.
- A copy/paste error meant that we did not animate the scaleZ property in cases where we should have.
- A problem in the transform code means that using a null transform center is not the same as a transform center which uses the transformX/Y/Z properties of the target object. We now force the creation/use of a transform center in all cases to avoid that problem.
QE notes: This breaks about a dozen tests in the transform effects area, but I believe the new results are correct and the tests/bitmaps should be changed.
