[N97] Turn off Notifications?

hi guys!
No this is not yet another complaining N97 thread. I just wanna post a question and probably add more in the future.
My first and most important questions is:
- How to turn off the symbian notifications?
Reason: When changing a profile, I don't wanna have a confirmation notifications that says: "Profil changed to Silent"
Using FM Transmitter, I turn it on and then it says: "Put the frequency of 89.9 into your radio to listen to the music". Yes, I know that and why do you have to tell me every time?
Thank you!
Jo
PS: My Nokia isn't that bad at all. I bought mine in September and I got one without the camera scratching and the GPS bugs. It was made in Finnland and is called "N97-1" Maybe this is the second edition. After an update to v20, which I only got from Nokia Care, they completetly wiped my phone and said that they had a generic patcher and unlike the PC software it wipes everything and does a clean install, while pc software just updates the files, that have to be updated.
Well v12 was indeed buggy and unstable, but v20 runs fine. ('til now!) and I hope to get more updates in the future with new features. ;-)
I would suggest everyone that has a problem with his N97 goes to Nokia Care and let's them repair it, because what my impression was, that they know bloody well, how to fix it.
Main device: N97-1 with v21 and Product-Code 0586701 (fortunately without major bugs!) It actually runs quite good.
Other Nokia devices: N95-1 and 6230i

Well, I hope that someone has a solution. There might be a setting somewhere...
The thing is, that if I activate something, I don't wanna be asked if I really want to do it. That's just stupid. I don't click somewhere just by accident.
Thanks for any replies or hints.
Otherwise I will just bother Nokia Care with that ;-)
Best Regards,
Jo

How do I turn off notifications for Software Updates?
In the 'Notifications' section of the 'System Preferences' app, there is no tab for managing the notifications of System Updates nor App Store.
Hey--- I like auto-checking for updates, and hey--- I like auto-downloading them in the background.
BUT I do not like being notified of updates in the middle of working! Especially when it's iTunes updates. Grrrr.
Any chance this is easy and I just missed it?

So what happens if you go to each of your posts here on ASC with this account (assuming you only have one) and click the Stop Email Notifications button in the upper right hand corner?  Is it grayed out for all of your posts?

  • Turn off notifications

I want to completely turn off notifications. I've turned off everything in the preferences box. They are still appearing. The menu icon only opens a window pane of some kind.
I don't want anything moving on my screen except what I'm actively working on. It's totally distracting -- like an error message.

Go to System Preferences > Notifications > click on each application in the list on left > select alert style: none > uncheck Show in notification center.

  • Settings button (action) is on the left had side of the Cellular Data is Turned Off notification message put up while the OK button is present on the right hand side of the notification

The defualt notification message put up when launching iTunes on iPhone devices show that Cellular Data is Turned Off message is put up with Settings and OK button.
This seems to be inconsistent with the default 'Cancel' and 'Action' buttons in other notification messages from Apple.
Is it fine to consider the OK button first (left) and Settings(right) button next in the Cellular Data is Turned Off error message in the apps so that it is in line with the apple guidelines??
    Please help with this.
    Thanks you so much.

  • Turning off notifications ios 7

Can anyone tell me how to turn off the double sms text alert.  I keep thinking I have gotten another text message and can't seem to find a way to turn this off.  Thanks for your help.

  • If I turn off notifications/data to take a nap, will I miss some alerts?

I sometimes want to turn off all sounds on my iPhone except for the phone ringer when I take a nap, so I can sleep undisturbed unless someone needs to reach me by phone. My question is: If I turn off all notifications in the settings, temporarily, will I then receive all the alerts I should receive once I turn notifications back on? So, for example, if someone friends me on Facebook while I'm taking my nap with the notifications off, will I get the friend notification from the Facebook app once I turn the notifications back on?
If not, would this work for a solution: turn off 3G, cellular data, and wi-fi while I take a nap? When I turn them back on, will I get the notifications that would have come through during my nap had they been turned on?
If not, can you suggest another solution?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Read this website for some insightful reading

To return to your question at hand, I think you should able to get the pop-up's when you put the phone into "Airplane"-mode.
I have countlessly gone on flights and received a barrage of pop-up's when I turn Airplane Mode off.

  • How can you turn off notifications for app store?

Each time I  go to a forum site, it tells me there is an app for Tapatalk for the site to chat with.  If I click on cancel, it continues to pop up each time I try to respond on the forum.  If I click on OK, it takes me to the app store to buy the app for Tapatalk, which I do not want.  How do I turn off this notification that keeps popping up?  I do not see anyway to do this in the settings.

I hate that too.   What you are seeing is a 'feature' of the forum's website.   They want you to down load their app.  It's not coming from apple, but the website.

  • How do I turn off notifications that keep interrupting my work!?

Firefox 20.0 has added an infuriating feature that causes notification windows to pop up alerting me to whatever it feels like whenever it feels like. This telemarketing-style interruption is absolutely pointless and 100% in my way, and there HAS to be a way to disable it. Please, someone help! I don't want to have to drop Firefox—I've dealt with all kinds of ridiculous changes over the years—but I can't live with these interruptions.
    I'm using Mac OS X 10.8.2.
Also, if anyone knows how to turn off that animated downloading arrow, that would be great, too.

I had the same problem after the last update (Firefox 22). Firefox would show a notification after completing a download. I don't know why the developers would begin such a feature without providing a way to disable in preferences. Anyhow, my solution was to go into about:config and change '''browser.download.manager.showAlertOnComplete''' from true to false.
I think this may be a solution for the OP. The conversation seems to have gotten sidetracked to the social feature, but SunSpirit13 also mentions the download arrow, which makes me think s(he) was referring to download alerts.
