N97 UK - My Issues (mainly messaging)
Ok, so I decided that as there was so little C: drive phone memory left, I would transfer my messages to drive E:
However, when you plug the phone into USB as Mass Storage or Media Transfer, the "E:" drive becomes unusable by the default Messaging application and it reverts back to using Drive C:.
I had a situation yesterday where this happened and I wasn't aware of it and was getting text messages.
I had to reboot the phone this morning due to being unable to connect to one IMAP server, and the other IMAP account I had, the phone thought was in use and couldn't be accessed or deleted.
Upon reboot, both the contacts and messages on Drive C: had disappeared.
I swapped the settings back to Drive E; and my old messages were there. You can change back to C:, but the phone does not give you the opportunity to contact the messages back over.
So I make that:
1) Drive E: becomes accessible in the default messaging application when you use USB File Transfer and resets to Drive C: if you try and access the messaging application.
2) Random lockups with email servers causing accounts not to be accessed/deleted unless you reboot the phone
3) Contacts can get lost at times
4) Cannot copy messages from Drive E: to Drive C:
I am quite new to all this, my problem is that emails received cannot be opened directly, I have to follow links to open it up. My ipod touch simply opens them. Can you advise. Nokia N97 RM505 made in Finland

First of all - anyone who is going to tell me to use the "Nokia Messaging" stop reading now - that program goes through Nokia servers and generally sucks all round.
I use the Email Component of the Default Messaging built into the phone, I've been struggling to figure out what happened to it since v20, but have only recently bothered to try and figure out what the issue was.
- I noticed my mail on my N97 would stop on a certain date (email date) and no longer retrieve messages past that certain date.
- That lead me to figure out that there was a bad message that was causing the mail app to basically disconnect from the server and not retrieve mail. When i say bad message - I mean one that the N97 cannot understand, all other mail clients work fine.
- I found this to be a particular mail, once deleted the IMAP client on the phone work fine again.
- I monitored the situation, and found that every few days an offending mail would come in - and deleting the mail in Outlook was always the solution.
- The POP3 client on the phone does not have this issue and processes all messages, POP is not going to work for me as I work out of one IMAP box - and that wont change to accommodate my **bleep** phone.
So in short, if i am out of the house and one of these mails comes in my mail on my phone stops working which sucks. I have looked at the headers of these offending mails and the content body and I cannot see anything that would lead me see why the N97 has an issue with them.
Also the phone when hooked up to the computer is a sure way to have the 'message store' revert back to C: from mass storage which is SUPER ANNOYING. I would rather just get an error message than having the change back 10x per day - and seeing my home screen widget display "set-up email" - i've done that a million times.
So in short mail for me is unusable much like everything else on this **bleep** called the N97.
I would like to see Nokia fix this issue - i believe it may have only appeared in v20 although i cannot be sure of that - could also be i just never noticed this. I think the scheduled email retrieval is broken too - I know this was working perfectly before.
It would be really nice to see Nokia fix this and add HTML support as well why they are at it - although I am not holding my breath, it is likely easier to go buy a new non-Nokia phone.
The N95 Mail client seems to work fine and can retrieve all messages from this same account, someone is working backwards, go figure.

To give Kirk a little break I won't publish his mobile number here. I'm guessing he's responsible for the US market - but at least he's in the right organization.
I spent 5 or more hours over the weekend trying to deal with the limited configuration options of the new email set up wizard and now have 4 email accounts - Roadsync (after using MfE for 8 months), default messaging client for POP3, Nokia messaging for my IMAP4 personal account and my Yahoo account.
It all works, and works better than last June - but why oh why do I have to have 2 email clients to check 4 accounts, no push on my POP3 account because Nokia Messaging won't let me configure detailed server settings, no HTML email on the Exchange 2003 or POP3 accounts and the email widget will only show Exchange email on the home screen, not on the others. Nokia messaging sometimes takes a long time to push out emails, like an hour.
Because not all the clients support Destinations I am running Birdstep SmartConnect to handle moving in and out of WiFi (free and works fine on 5th ed even though not officially supported).
Now with v21 I am loving my N97 again, but all this is a good example of why Blackberry is king of email. Its taken months of experience followed by hours of research, downloading and configuration to get something that on a Blackberry just works out of the box.

The difference starts in the concept.
Issues are meant to handle project problems, like lack of human resources, lack of expertise, go-live strategy decision, that is all problems that are mainly linked to a managerial decision/order and can have impact on business.
Messages are meant to handle system problems, like printer not working, message error when saving a purchase order, lack of authorizations,etc.
Because of these differences, also the funcions available for each one and the workflow will be different.

Normal update of iTunes to 11.1.4 fails. Suggests installing from web site
I install from iTunes.com. Install issues the messages:
Service "Apple Mobile Device' failed to start.
Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services
I do have necessary privilegs. I hit ignore. See window with successful install come up and finish with launch. I get the messages:
iTunes was not installed correctly.
Please reinstall iTunes
Error 7 (Windows error 126)
Tring to start iTunes from desktop gives:
This application failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found
Re-installing the application may fix the problem.
Further repair or remove/reinstall does not fix the problem (including after reboot)
Thie is the first time this has happened. I'm not sure where to go from here

Foreign Character Issue in Messages sent to MQ Series Queue
Hi Experts,
We are having a IDOC to JMS Scenario.We receive the IDOC and Convert it into a Single Line Flat File using a JAVA Mapping.We send the flat file message to MQ series 6.0 Queue using a JMS adapter.
We are facing issues when message contains foreign character like Chinese , German and Greek.
The Input\Output payload looks fine in SXMB_MONI and in the JMS Channel payload. when the message is put in the MQ Series Queue. When we open the messages in the JMS Q, the Foreign Character looks as "?????".
PFB some details on the Java Code and other Config Settings.
1. We read the messages from the Input Stream as UTF-8 and do the Transformation and Write the Output as UTF-8
we use writer class to write the output after conversion (shown below).
Writer osw = new OutputStreamWriter (osOutput,"UTF-8");
2. The MQ series is in UNIX box and CCSID of the Queue Manager is 819.
we have set the CCSID of the JMS channel 819.
can you please clarify in case any transformation is happening before placing the message in the queue and how to we handle this case from the channel or in the Java code.

I have one more useful info.
I set the Transport Protocol as TCP\IP and Kept the JMS Compliant as WebsphereMQ (Non-JMS) in JMS Channel Parameters TAB. In additional Parameters TAB i have set "JMS.TextMessage.charset" as ISO-8859-1.In this Setting, The Characters looks perfectly fine when i browse and view the messages in MQ Series Q. Messages are sent in MQSTR format, where the message has no header value.
Intially i had set JMS Compliant Field as "JMS Compliant" with additional param TAB set as ISO-8859-1, where the message is sent in MQHRF2 format containing header details. i also configure dynamic header values using AF_Modules to this header. Special Chars didnt work.
Now in MQSTR due to missing Header values the messages are not being identified and routed properly by the end system from the MQ series.
Now i need to find the missing loop, what happens when message is sent using WebSp MQ API's (MQSTR) and Java API (MQHRF2). I need to have MQHRF2 format with Messages body sent exactly as it is in MQSTR. Is there any parameter, which i need to set.

How to issue warning message in BADI ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST

I have already checked the forum regarding this. There are lots of threads. Unfortunately none of them helped me. I must be missing some thing in my code.
I tried issuing warning message in BADI ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST and method PROCESS_ITEM.
First i tried with normal message statement
MESSAGE w001(00) WITH text-001 text-002.
Didn't worked.
Next tried calling standard macros

If i give error using MESSAGE statement it is working perfectly i.e. give error and save the PO. Only wanted to know if there are any implications.

I am stuck. I recently travelled abroad and changed the settings on my iphone. I thought that I had changed them all back but messages in my mail accounts show the titles but when I click into them the main message doesn't download. Is anyone able to tell me what settings I need to change to be able to view the main messages?
Try closing the Mail app completely and see if it works properly when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot. -

Currently we are facing issue with message type triggering during inbound delivery creation:
In NACE transaction for Inbound delivery we have 3 custom output types:
Pricing Procedure Used is standard one -> E10001
Z140 Inbound Delivery Create (This should get triggered when IB delivery is created)
Z141 Inbound Delivery Change (This should get triggered when IB Delivery is changed)
Z142 Inbound Delivery Delete(This should get triggered when IB Delivery is deleted).
At present if i check delivery in VL33 -> Extras -> Delivery Output
Both Z140 and Z141 are being triggered during IB delivery creation. While it should be only Z140.
Could you please suggest that are we missing any configuration in SPRO or we need to create any custom routine (requirement) to handle this?

There is no fine-tuned control for inbound delivery messages as for Purchase order. Hence I guess to meet your above requirement, you have to go for a custom solution similar to the PO fine tune control settings.

How can I get to the main message menu? It stays locked on one persons messages and won't let me message anyone else. Can anyone help me?
You should be able to tap a different conversation you already have open. Try tapping the write new message button, it looks like the square with the pencil icon, right next to the word Messages, if it opens then tap the blue + sign.
You could also try to delete all you current open windows by tapping the Edit button then check marking all them > delete.
If you are still having problems first try to close Messages and then double tapping the Home Button to bring up the dock and long press on the messages app in the dock until you see it shaking with the red circle and completely turn it off, then re-open and see if that fixes it. If not you could try to reboot the iPad by holding the home button and the power button at the same time, ignore the "slide to Power Off" message and continue holding both buttons until you see the screen go black and the Apple logo appear. -
Issues with Messaging Manager in ATG 10

We are facing an issue with messaging manager. In weblogic we have configured datasource as 'coreDataSource', somehow MessagingManager is looking for coreDataSource_shop and throwing error that Datasource is not available?
How to resolve this? I am using ATG 10.3 and Weblogic 10.3.5.

Gopistill the issue is exist.
At one point of time, Database is not able to provide connection for coreDataSource. After that shop is trying to get connection from JNDI coreDataSource_shop, which is not available in weblogic. -

Can you check whether the Item for which the error is received is entered in negative quantity in the Production Order?
Can you check whether the item for the error is a item Managed by Serial/batch Number?
If the answer to both question is yes, then I would request you to kindly check the same settings in the Demo and check whether the error is displayed or not.

OIM 9102 Issued Audit Message null pointer
Hi All,
I have a 9102 system with an empty upa_ud_formfields table. We tried running the Issue Audit Message job (which was disabled for some reason) and got a NPE.
I found the same thing here but never answered.

Fred1. XL.EnableExceptionReports needs to be set to TRUE and XL.UserProfileAuditDataCollection needs to be set to Resource Form.
2. In the Audit Report Developers Guide, section 5.3.1 Using the UPA Form Data Upgrade Utility, you need to perform the steps to enable the usable of these fields (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14049_01/doc.9101/e14045/reporting.htm#CEGFCIAD).
3. Restart Server.

N97 application manager issue- Nokia Bots???
Dear All,
I'm not able to view installed applications from the applications manager. The screen goes off for a few seconds and goes back to the root menu. This issue seems to have cropped up ever since i installed the Nokia Bots. Has anyone else experienced this?
Is there a way out to see the list of installed applications?

That's a total of 80 + apps.
Could that be the problem? could installing lots of software (none pirated or cracked, I've paid for them) crash the OS?

I have N97 with firmware version 11.0.021.209.04.
I am basically pleased with the phone apart from the slide unlock not working maybe 1 in 30 times (just open the qwerty pad to unlock in this case) not a big issue to me but hope it resolved in the firmware release.
However I have the following issue which is bugging me:-
I have set up my network priority list with my WLAN as 1, and the vodafone connection as 2.
I have my email connection setting set to default connection.
When I'm at home I have no problem, I can access my email through my WLAN.
However when I leave the house and try to to access my email I get a message saying WLAN is not available unable to access email. Obviously it is not available and I would expect the phone to automaticall switch to priority 2 but it doesn't.
I have to manually go into email connection settings and select vodafone.
My internet connection goes through the priority list no problem.
Does anyone know if I've not set something up correctly or if it is a bug.
Cheersi have read the posts in this thread. so far, settings will be one of the reasons why you can't access your network providers' packet data.

try this setting:
-->menu>messaging>options>settings>email>select mailbox (yahoo/hotmail,etc)

--> if the same issue persist, try deleting your WLAN connection and add it again
--> or, you can try to do a soft reset which will make your phone return it's factory settings only
not deleting file at all, just key-in *#7780#
--> next, do a hard reset. this time your files will be deleted so it is very much advisable to back
up your files in OVI suite first or in your memory card before hard reset, just key in *#7370#
--> least likely, if your phone is a new one or you just bought it, it is unneccesary for you to do
software update unless it is indicated to your product key that you may do so and if there
is a new software for your phone. (check in nokia.com if you may do software update by
by entering your product key)
--> if all else fails, bring your phone to Nokia Care Center/ Service Center accredited by Nokia
