N97 - Unable to upload images to Facebook

Hi, I've been very happy with the recent v2 software update and had no problems so far (after the mess the previous firmware update left my phone in), my only problem is while using the facebook application I can no longer upload images from my phone to facebook.
It just hangs when I try to do it. I've seen a few threads about but never a solution that works for me. I've tried re-installing the facebook app from Ovi, but this didn't work either. Please can someone help! This is the main feature I use on my phone for saving and backing up my photo's remotely, and as it seems a common problem there must be a solution!
Thanks.

This won't help fix your problem but a better way to upload pictures to Facebook (and other sites) is by using PixelPipe; http://pixelpipe.com/
It installs setting which use the Nokia upload online feature.  if you set it to default you just take a picture and hit the upload button and voila it will send the picture to PixelPipe then onto whatever sites you have registered.  You can also go into the N97 gallery, choose all the photos you want to upload and the do the same.  It supports routing into specific albums or destination but I've not used this much.  I have my PixelPipe configures to upload to Facebook, Flickr and Ovi all at one.
Again this won't fix your issue, which I think St3ph3n might have answered best anyhow but it's a much better way to get your photos onto Facebook.

  • Unable to upload images

As of a few days ago I am unable to upload images online. First I noticed it with a Mixbooks and then with Ebay. In some cases it starts to load it and then starts over and over without any success. On Ebay it just sits there preparing to upload. I tried uploading it from iPhoto and then from my desktop with the same results. The internet connection is good and firewall isn't an issue. I'm running the latest Snow Leopard version on a 6 month old 27" iMac. Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    Hi
On the WIKI there is a place to report performance issues:

  • Using curve 8520 to upload images to facebook

i am in love with the curve 8520 ease of uploading images to facebook without having to first save the images to pictures
when i receive an e-mail i can simply send the photo to facebook without having to save it to pictures and when i visit a website using the browser i can simply select full image then send simply send he image to facebook.
while researching other models with the intention to upgarde i discovered that the torch 9800 and bold 9900 do not have this feature.  what is this feature called ?  it is imperative that tis feature is available in the other models that i am considering upgarding to.  what model has this feature?

Currently, there is no direct method to upload images programmatically via Adobe Drive. Adobe Drive SDK is used to develop custom connector.
BTW, InDesgin has a function called package(Menu:File->Package). After you open a file with linked files and click menu File->Package, you specify a folder in Adobe Drive disk(Z:), then all related files will be saved to the specified folder and checked in automatically, no matter the original linked files are checked into the server or not. The disadvantage is that it may break your current folder structure. If the package function can meet your requirement, you can refer InDesign SDK from http://www.adobe.com/devnet/indesign/sdk.html to develop a plugin/extension to do this work.

  • Upload images to facebook

Hello, I have a 5530 xpress music and  I would like to know how can I upload images to facebook directly from my phone. Maybe I need an app to do that. Please tell me about it.
    Best regards.
    Fernando

There's a facebook app that came preinstalled in your device, you can use gt to load images to facebook. If you don't find it in your phone, search for the same in ovi store.
You can also upload pics and your other media directly from phone using share online with help of 3rd party plug ins like pixelpipe. Or you can use the pixelpipe app to share media to multiple destinations. Its available in ovi store.

  • Safari 7.0.5 Uploading image in Facebook

    It's not working for me....
Facebook using Safari 7.0.5 will not allow me to upload images (regular or 32bit mode) into my FB status.  Tried Firefox, works fine....  When I try and add a new photo album, it works fine, no problem at all!  Rinning 10.9.4 on MacBookPro.
Also can't tag friends, add a location etc....   Weird!   Any have any clue?

I suggest you revert the changes to your DNS settings, if you haven't already done so.
    1. From the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
    2. Select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    and confirm. Test.

  • Canon 6d - LR4.3 64 bit - unable to upload images

Bought 6D. Can upload images to PS6 and Picassa but not to LR4.3.  LRm.3 displays the images but when I got to import states it cannot read the files.  Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Check your Destination specified in the LR import panel.  Not reading the files that ACR and other programs can during an Import USUALLY means that the DESITNATION has a permissions issue, so the error message means “Cannot Write Destination Files” but the error message is generated when something in LR is trying to read the files in the destination and cannot.

  • Upload image to Facebook with as3

Hi i have an app where the user can take a snapshot of the stage, I want to be able for the user to then be able to click a button and this to be uploaded to their facebook page.
I have searched forums and havent found any full examples, could any one help please?
    Thanks in advance.

    Start here:
    http://code.google.com/p/facebook-actionscript-api/
Or you can use the javaScript API - which is better since people actually work on it. The AS3 one has a good deal of bugs and nobody ever updates it. But you should be able to get it to work.
If you need more help, I have an app that does this so I can dig out the code if need be.

  • How to upload images to Facebook from PSE

I am forced to go to Revel and pay more for having gone over my backup limit. A scam!
Then, I notice that all the edits I make to MY pictures are not reflected in the pics in "My Pictures" on the hard drive. I have used Adobe products for years. This sucks!
I had planned to upload a bunch of pics to a Facebook album this evening, and find I can not. Looks like Photoshop has been rendered incapable of performing its key function.
Is there something I am doing wrong?
Message title was edited by: Brett N

I will attempt to export the "current version"...tho Photoshop is so non-intuitive that I would have appreciated an explanation of how to do this.
    Facebook workflow?
So...you do not know how albums are created on Facebook ...and you call yourself a photo editing company. Basically you highlight the photos you want uploaded in My Pictures and they are uploaded to Facebook en masse.
All I am trying to do with Photoshop elements is to edit the photos on my hard drive before uploading them. I do not want or need "cloud backup".  I do not want or need to pay you more $ for the privilege. There are a lot of editing fish in the sea. So unless I get a real explanation of that is going on...I will switch to Picassa or some other.
Sad...because photoshop is a very powerful editing tool . I think you must have too many software engineers employed making changes willy nilly...forgeting what the product is designed to do.
At the very least there should be an "old school" button to go back to the tried and true...tho I must say, I have had probelems with the old version as well. It no longer recognises photos that have already been uploaded resulting in multiple copies being saved. A waste.

  • Have recently upgraded to Mavericks.  Since then, I have been unable to upload images to a photo lab in Melbourne - what is wrong?

I work as the photographer in a small Photography studio and we use a Lab in Melbourne to retouch and print our photographs for our clients.  This Lab (Nulab) has software downloaded to my Mac from their website which I use to upload the images, request certain finishes & retouching for each file.  However, in the last week, I have not been able to export these images to them in Melbourne - it creates a folder on their end and then tries to communicate back to my end, but it obviously hits something and therefore won't upload the images to their folder.
Before it stopped working, I had upgraded to the new Mavericks, I had callibrated my computer & redownloaded the software from our lab's website.  Nothing else has changed.  I have been through everything I can think of (security settings, Firewall, Antiviruses - disabling and uninstalling, reinstalling Lab software) as well as contacting the lab and their IT man looking into it having remote control of my desktop.  We are both unsure of what has happened.
    Can anyone help?

    Let me make two suggestions before offering something to try;
    1. Never upgrade unless you know that your mission critical software is compatible.
    2. Never be without at least two separate backups. You are a business. Backups are essential.
Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
    1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
        b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the
computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager
screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo).
    4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo).

  • Unable to upload photos to facebook or emails

Recently after I installed new internal hard disk I copied iphoto library from my external hard disk ( where it was stored as a backup). When I go to upload from photos then all the photos are coming greyed out and cannot be selected for upload.
OS is Snow leopard and ILife 08

    How are you uploading?
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
*For Users of 10.5 and later*
You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
*For users of 10.4 and later* ...
Many internet sites such as Flickr and SmugMug have plug-ins for accessing the iPhoto Library. If the site you want to use doesn’t then some, one or any of these will also work:
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. However, if you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
*If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running*:
For users of 10.6 and later:
You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu. Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and later:
Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
    Regards
