N97 unlocking keypad freezes

Hey
Just wondering if anyone has a similar problem with their N97. When I go to unlock my keypad with the slide device on the site my phone will often completely freeze up and I will have to remove the battery. This has become rather annoying now. Does anyone have a similar problem or have any advice?

It has plenty battery and I was wondering if it is an issue of using too much of the iPhones RAM or not. I have no other apps open besides Messages. I am getting kind of worried as it started around two weeks ago and it has gotten increasingly frequent.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these steps in order until the issue is resolved.

N97 unlock button fell off

guys today my n97 unlock button fell off ...i did google search and found out thats a common manufacturing defect in n97 ...so please can anyone tell me any solution for this thing...this phone is really getting on my nerve now..

Same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago (phone around 5 months old), sent in the phone for repair via my service provider and was advised that the repair failed there quality check and they gave me a new handset
Therefore if its still under warranty i recommend you get it repaired as it should be done for free.

If you forget or lose the lock (security) code, try first the default lock code 12345. If it is not accepted, contact the nearest Nokia Care point to unlock your device.

Slide unlock can do that. There is a setting there, where you press an icon in the middle of your homescreen. It would look either like an apple, or a cd, depending on the slideunlock theme. It would then show the "iPhone" lockscreen. You can leave it at that.
There is also something called pocket sensor. When it is in your pocket or when anything covers the proximity sensor, it is locked, and the moment you take it out of its cover/pocket, it is unlocked. There are lots of apps out there.

i have question about n95.
when i move down slider- phone keypad locks after 5 sec. its ok...but when i want to unlock keypad and move slider UP nothing happens, why? where is the settings or i need 3rd part application ?

The N95 should unlock the keypad automatically when you open the slider (or the lens protector for that matter). The sensor would appear to be working since the keypad is locked when you close the slider, so it's probably a software issue. I'd start by uninstalling ShutUp beta, which is installed according to your signature.

Help, I can't unlock keypad on E71

I have a little problem that seems simple but its driving me mad. I have just got a new E71 and the first time I turned it auto key locked it self. When I follow the manual to unlocking the keypad it wont work. I have pulled the battery out and replaced it and it is still locked. If someone can help me that would be much appreciated. All the buttons seem to be working and I am starting to think it's software related. I have had the phone now for a day and cant even gain access to the thing.

I have just checked the E71 User Manual. To unlock keypad you press the left function key (left most key just below display) followed by the right function key (the right most key just below display). This should work.

Please help. My New Unlocked Centro Freezes when recieveing calls!!! I have not loaded any additional softwares or even connected the Centro to any computer for a sync. Please Help!!! What could cause this?

Two methods that seem to work:
Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
OR
Settings > iCloud > Documents & Data: OFF

Keypad freezing and unlock screen freezing also complete freezing in texts and Internet and then kicking me back to main screen

The keypad an unlock screen will freeze completely and I have to turn off my phone to unfreeze also when in a text or on the Internet it will freeze and kick me out of what I am in and go to the main screen. This happens multiple times a day an the phone is brand new. It's completely updated and I exit out of running apps all the time and hook I up to iTunes

Try to reset the device by pressing the Sleep/Wake button and Home Button at the same time for ten seconds until the Apple Logo appears. Note: No data will be lost

Centro Keypad freezes

Hi, Ive got my new centro unlocked GSM and am having a lot of prblems with its keypad (all the buttons from the screen down) spontaneously freezing. Though the centre button of the five way navigator does seem to respond under certain conditions. When the screen turns off, be it during pTunes playback or power saving then any associated button opens up the respective application perfectly but then nothing works. I can only turn the screen on using the red button but not off. And this problem goes away just as spomtaneously as it comes and it is quite frankly ruining my day. Anyone got a solution to this?

Well after the issue listed above another issue presented itself. The keypad backlight started blinking with a frequency of about 1Hz and simultaneous fluctuations on the top edge pixel display were there as well. So i placed it like this for one day to completely drain the unit and it's secondary backup. After that everything went back to normal and evenm the hard reset is working fine. I am convinced the problem was intrinsic and hardware related since after the drain everything went completely back to normal. I would try to drain the battery after backing up your RAM. Hope it helps.

N97 Numeric keypad on call problem

Hi All,
Quick question. When you call a company which has an automated IVR, sometimes you have to enter not just numbers but also letters. The touchscreen keypad which comes up on the N97 while on a call can enter numbers fine but displays no letters above the numbers (as per use with T9) is there any update or way to adjust this to display the letters above the numbers or is it a case of guess work?

Just after you dial the number and begin the call the lower right-hand soft-key on the touchscreen says "Dialer".
Press this and the keypad comes back up for you to use.

Keypad freezing and showing symbols

I have a blackberry 8520 and it suddenly just freezes particularly when i use the letters T and O. a set of symbols begin to appear where the letter T or O was typed and then the phone freezes. After multiple times pulling out the battery, it finally works, and then freezes again. The keypad and trackpad do not respond, unless heavily pressed on. WHY is this happenening out of the blue? My phone has never been near any sources of liquid and the only pressure applied to it is when my phone is in my pants pocket.
Please can someone tell me how to get rid of this.
I went to a store and they performed a master reset. How do you perform this reset on the 5.O software? ( im not talking about a memory wipe,im talking about restoring the phone back to how it originally was)

Those are one in the same really.
I would recommend trying a Clean Reload of your OS using the DM and see if that gets it.
