N97 v3.0 what new things will be there?(if any)

apart from those usual bug fixes what new realistic features do you all think n97 probably will get? for me i want
-actual skype video calling
-threaded sms
-virtual keyboard(portrait and landscape)
-transition (theme)effects
-fluid kinetic scrolling
-smooth and fast browsing(everywhere)
-smile/face detection for camera
-single tap(probably won't happen on n97 though)
if all these things can make it into n97 i'll be very happy=D

- add two extra home screens. Only the main home screen would have Internet widgets, the extra ones could then be either an app launcher, a contacts screen, or a calendar/task screen.

GFX card has died, what new cards will my P965 Platinum support?

Good morning all. As the topic says, my gfx card has died. It was a Gainward 8800GTS 320mg, and fell foul of the apparently common solder issue. It's way out of warranty now, so i need a new card. I can't afford a full upgrade, so i need to find a card that will run on my P965 Platinum. The 3 cards that i'm considering are the nVidia 550Ti, the ATI 6790, and most of all the ATI 6850. Will they all work, but primarily will the 6850 work on the P965, or will I have issues due to it being an ATI card?
My hardware specs are:
P965 Platinum, running the stock BIOS (i assume, i have never flashed it).
Intel E6600 dual core, running at stock speed.
4 sticks of Corsair xms2 "cm3x1024-6400c4" 4-4-4-12 800mhz DDR2 ram, at stock settings.
Corsair HX620W PSU. I can't check exactly what it's running at as the gpu is dead, but the manual says:
+3.3V 24A 170W
+5V 30A 170W
+12V1 18A 600W
+12V2 18A 600W
+12V3 18A 600W
-12V 0.8A 9.6W
+5VSB 3A 15W
WD Raptor system drive.
As a secondary question, what E and Q chips can the Platinum take, preferably without a BIOS update? The main MSI website no longer has the 965 specs available and my manual is nowhere to be found.

edit: sorry, forgot to mention that i'm running XP SP2 (32bit i think), and have no intention of ever having 2 gfx cards so crossfire/SLI isn't an issue for me. Upgrading to 64bit win7 is no trouble if that's necessary/advised.

The firefox "whats new" page will not go away after a restart. All settings changes in firefox do not stay either. What can I do? I have tried deleting the localstore file also and its a no go.

This happens with the new version of firefox. We have many computers with new fox on it and not the same problem. only certain ones.

New W540 will not power on any longer

Short story:
W540 config below
Arrived, bios 2.09, set intel rapid boot off
worked for 1 week
Then it refused to power on
No indicators when battery plugged in and power or battery plugged in and no power.
with power, and no battery only the power button blinked 2x. No other response.
Lenovo's action: return and get a new system. After waiting 6 weeks to get it, this is not what I expected froma rather expensive system. I should have heeded the warnings on this list.
I see on another list tthe E440, ithink, it was a cmos battery issue. Does anyone know what the issue is with the W540?

I too had a similar problem. The brick went bad.
I had to use a Fluke meter to measure the voltage at the tip, as there is no light on the brick, nor is there a functional light on the computer.
Yes, it is supposed to flash a couple of time if there is juice in the wire, but my issue, was that it supplied power, but failed under computer drain initially, until it gave up. My screen kept flashing when power was on, and power was off. Effectively, the screen became my power indicator.
Having had similar issues in the past with switching supplies that had a thermal breaker built in, I waited hoping it would reset. BUT, no light on either the brick or the computer, just wasted my time trying to solve the problem the normal way. If there was a light, you would know immediately. It finally gave up life, and never revived. No light on the brick, and NO indicator light on the W540.
The new brick was made by another vendor, and runs much cooler. If you want the markings on the broken brick, v.s. the new one, just ask.....
Not acceptable, but stuck with this..... At the end of the year, someone at Lenovo will get a raise, based on sales....

Hi, I think I need a new video card, but I'm really not sure what new card will be compatable with my computer , an HP m9077c that operates with Vista.I see it has an Nvidia Geforce 8500 gt in it now, but looking for new ones to buy I see things like (XFX PVT 86JYAHG GEforce 8500 GT 450mhz 512mbgddr2svideo/dvi/vga/pci express16 ) for $35 , but then I see right next to it plain old GEforce 8500 gt for $111. What's the difference?I just want a replacement, it doesn't even have to be the same brand, as long as it will work as well or better. How can I tell which one will be compatable?

ok, i buy CS3 and find that when i open a new document, i can't move the window around. is this a wonderful new feature of CS3? does this mean i have to sit and watch a video on how to operate this new version or read a manual to be able to move my window? how do i find out what new things they changed in order to drive us crazy? everytime i turn around i need a manual because they make all these stupid changes so they can charge for new updates.

Patti's problem is common.
Reading between the lines of her post, it sounds like she is works in a group/corporate environment in which an IT guy "takes care" of the computers and "exciting new software" is installed on the design machines when the workers bees are not in the office.
This leaves the designer with the problem of learning the new software without the benefit of having the time to learn. Production schedules don't pause when new software enters the scene. It is only the most enlightened design/communications managers who see the value in treating their designers as an asset and providing them with adequate training.
My biggest client has literally thousands of dollars worth of software sitting on the shelf (uninstalled) because there's no time to train the staff on how to use it.
The only option is for the designers to spend their own time learning the new software (evenings and weekends.) I encourage them to do that - it can only make them more valuable in the marketplace. However, I sympathize with the frustration they feel about the position into which they've been forced.
That being said, it is what it is. We're all faced with the same situation. No one is going to pay you to learn what can only increase your own value. Put on your jammies, get out the manual and curl up with a bowl of popcorn.

The App Store version sometimes gives problems. As you can't install 10.8.4 from the App Store, download and install the Combo edition > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1659?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US This edition will work and will update OS X to the most recent version, in that case, 10.8.4

It is now confirmed that iWeb, and iDVD, has been discontinued by Apple. This is evidenced by the fact that new Macs are shipping with iLife 11 installed but without iWeb and iDVD.
On June 30, 2012 MobileMe will be shutdown. However, iWeb will still continue to work but without the following:
Features No Longer Available Once MobileMe is Discontinued:
◼ Password protection
◼ Blog and photo comments
◼ Blog search
◼ Hit counter
◼ MobileMe Gallery
All of these features can be replaced with 3rd party options.
I found that if I published my site to a folder on my hard drive and then uploaded with a 3rd party FTP client subscriptions to slideshows and the RSS feed were broken. If I published directly from iWeb to the FPT server those two features continued to work correctly.
There's another problem and that's with iWeb's popup slideshows. Once the MMe servers are no longer online the popup slideshow buttons will not display their images.

However, Roddy McKay and I have figured out a way to modify existing sites with those slideshows and iWeb itself so that those images will display as expected once MobileMe servers are gone. How to is described in this tutorial: #26 - How to Modify iWeb So Popup Slideshows Will Work After MobileMe is Discontinued.
It now appears that the iLife suite of applications offered on disc is now a discontinued product and the remaining supported iApps will only be available thru the App Store from now on. However, the iLife 11 boxed version that is still available at the online Apple Store (Store button at the top of the page) and those still on the shelves of retailers will include iWeb and iDVD. Those two apps were listed in small, gray text on the iLife 11 box that I bought.
Personally, if I didn't already have a copy I would purchase one to have it for reinstallation purposes if ever needed.

If you restore from your last backup, it will replace what you now have on your phone. If you set it up as new, you will have a phone just out of the box without any of your data on it. You can download any apps again. You can sync your music through iTunes.
