OMG are you serious, the video recorder on the N97 sometimes freezes and its not focused...Everything is blurred!!! and theres no point zooming in because you can bearly see anything!!!!

I don't see how a Windows Defrag will solve the problem as:
1. its not a hard drive. flash doesn't have this issue as there are no moving heads.
[Wrong, even though there's no moving heads, it still has to butterfly seek to get the data off if heavily fragmented slowing it down]
2. the phone its self does not use a windows os so it wouldn't make any odds to it if it was fragmented from a windows point of view
[what's windows got to do with it? it's a FAT 32 drive, your harddrive can use FAT32/NTFS or any other kind of partition]
3. symbian manages files differently.
[It still has to read/write, the more jumps and seeks it has to do the slower it's going to read data due to the slow CPU in the N97, more seeks more work slower things become]
I never said it would fix it, i said it's worth a try as it MIGHT fix it if it's heavily fragmented, constantly adding, deleting
files, music, videos....

Can you record a video from your desktop screen in HD with QuickTime Pro ?
I need to play a video on my computer and record it in the highest possible quality. I came across a program called CamStudio that says it can record your desktop in HD - so I wasnt sure if QuickTime Pro 7 can do that as well.
If someone is also familiar with what kind of computer or monitor i should play my video off of for best quality - i welcome answers to that as well.QuickTime Player Pro can't record the screen.
QuickTime X can record the screen (but only all of it and not just a window). It's a part of Snow Leopard. -
Using Azul media player app on my ipad Apple tv will only display sound but not video from movies. Any ideas on a fix. I set mirroring to on but it still does not display video. It will display photos and video recorded from my iphone.
Here are the steps for AirPlay:
Before starting Azul from your (running iOS 5.x/6.x) home screen where have have all your apps we need to turn on mirroring
On your iPhone 4S/5 or iPad 2 or 3, double-click the Home Button to view your recently-used apps.
Swipe all the way to the right to until you see the icon.
Note: If the icon does not appear, go to the "If AirPlay Mirroring is not visible or available on your mobile iOS device" section.
Tap the icon to see the list of available AirPlay devices.
Enable AirPlay Mirroring in this menu by tapping on an available Apple TV, then sliding the Mirroring slider to ON.
Now you should be seeing your iPad/iPhone on your TV.
Start up Azul now and using the settings icon on the top right corner go to the option that say "TV out" ON.
When you do that you will see an Orange screen
Now click "Done" and play the video you want to watch and it will AirPlay -
I purchased tv shows for my son over 4th of July weekend from iTunes on my iPad...he has been watching with no problem...yesterday I backed up my iPad and the videos were taken off while I was syncing it. Error coming up states " warning some of the videos in your iTunes library including video "Dora" were not copied to the iPad "ellen's iPad " because they cannot be played on this iPad was not copied because the video format is not supported by the iPad.....makes no sense since he watched the video on Friday on my iPad...I went into the properties of the video and under the summary tab states kind of video is mpeg-4video file...went into the folder on my pc and the file is listed as a m4v file...under the tab tv shows when my iPad is connected I have it checked to sync tv shows and to automatically include "all" episodes of "all shows" ....
I am using version 4.3.4 on my iPad and iTunes version 10.4 ...I even restored back to the original settings and still did not work....called apple twice yesterday and spoke to 2 different people and no one could help me.....I am able to load a movie from my pc to my iPad with no problem and the movie is a mpeg-4video file....totally clueless...I kept having a similar problem - 3 out of the 10 videos I had on iTunes wouldn't sync. to use video you need an upgrade. The name is handheld device software OS. I believe you have 4.2. 4.5 is required.

Nokia Lumia 1520 video recording on Microsd card i...
First off, I have a Nokia Lumia 1520 for about one month now. I love the screen size and everything. My picture/video recording to phone memory works fine. I have recently purchased a Class 10 Sandisk Pixtor 64GB microsd card from Best buy for video/pictures storage due to this device having only 16GB of memory.

Picture taking is fine writing to this card. However, I noticed that on all video recording mode (720p to 1080p), the video would sometimes skip and lose a few frames here and there. For example, when i try to record a video of a kid running, the video playback will show the kid run across but would jerk or freeze a bit during his run (almost like the phone is too busy doing other tasks during recording). Playing the same videos on a computer show the same result which means the video taken were bad to begin with. My temporary fix is to switch video/picture recording to the phone storage itself but that defeats buying the sd card in the first place.
Anybody else having this issue? I couldn't find another microsd card to test but i wonder if the phone itself is having a performance issue with sd cards in general. Should i engage with tech support from Nokia?It is quite well known that Class10 card are overkill on a mobile phone and in many cases have been proven to actually have worse performance when compared to even Class4 cards.
Class10 cards really only make sense in (high end) DSLR ca,eras where itis a requirement the shots can be written to the card fast. In practical use the class only indicates the card cab sustain a transferrate of X MB/s and with that in mind a Class4 card even will be plenty fast for your mobiel phone.
Due to the fact a Class10 card is basically overspec for the hardware it may even cause timing issues.

That's odd... I have AT&T and a Curve 8310; it has both a video and audio recorder built into it. I could not access my video recorder until I bought and inserted a microSD card into the Curve. The video camera's recordings take up a lot of memory compared to the camera, and if you don't have a memory card installed, this could be your problem.
If you do have a memory card with space on it, it's possible that the video recorder icon was accidentally hidden from view on the Home screen. While in the Home screen, press the Menu button (to the left of the trackball) and make sure "Show All" is checked. This will show you all icons, even the hidden ones; see if you can find the video camera icon among your list of icons.
FYI - You can also access the video recorder through the "Camera" icon. Click on the Camera icon, then once the screen switches to camera viewfinder, click on the Menu button (left of the trackball) and select "Video camera." This will then give you recording access to the video feature if your device has memory.

I'm using the video to record my kids on iPad 2. I can't get any sound to record. Am I doing something wrong. The kids are loud enough!!! It should record.
when you back up and restore the device as new and try it out does it still do that?? If so that means the microphone on the top is fryed and you'll have to get the device replaced or make sure theres nothing in that little itty bitty hole on the top of your phone

N8 noise during video recording
When a Video Recording I hear the noise, but when I play on computer then:
-> left channel noise + sound
-> right channel normal sound (no noise)

Have you tried making a recording, covering the microphone and playing back the recording to see if it is still picking up noise?
The built in microphone must be damaged in some way, please take your phone to your local Nokia Care Point to repair your microphone in the N8.

Not sure if my gripe is with my phone or this is a design/production flaw with the phone but when I use the video recorder, the sound is prett lame. I tried a couple times recording my TV and the playback is almost inaudible. Is this normal? I have the volume of the TV to "normal" that's at a comfortable level when I have the TV on and I know this is all relative, but you'll have to trust me when I have it at a comfortable level where anyone who does not have an ear issue can easily hear.I just did a security wipe and removed all my data and it got stuck on the tutorial page right before you can actually use your playbook. I than held down the volume + and - and power key. To reset the Tablet and every now works
My issue is solved I think, hope this helps anyone having a similiar problems.
Also, if anyone has any ideas why this is happening I would be curious to know.

When I switch from my Camera to Video Recorder, it starts recording a video right away. It does not go to the screen to allow you to turn the video recorder on and off, or change the settings. Any thoughts?
nope, its part of 10.3 operating system and cant be changed. unless there are enough complaints that they add the fearures to a later update but dont hold your breath.
only thing you can do at the moment is roll back to 10.2
i was one of the first to report the corrupted nightmare which is 1565.
totally messed up my Q10 and in the end it was risking my life saving job for 4 minute responce in hospital so i stupidly bought a passport for full price out of my own money.
dont get me wrong the passport is a great phone and i like a real keyboard so very limited on what to buy.
Q10 updated to 1779 OS but my ringtone is still low and still only 2 second callender alarm. there has been 2 more OS updates since but im still waiting as vodafone in the uk has still not pushed them out.
i cant connect to computer as last time i was connected remotely to blackberry support they loaded the link software and couldnt get it to work and in the end they even said the software was corrupt and they loaded it.
think only option i have now is to do a security wipe and hope it fixes at least some of it.
reports though that a couple of people were waiting 40 hours for a wip to finish.

In my first iPhone 5, the speaker didn't work and people could not hear me on Speaker phone when I used it. When I used the video recording it did not record sound at all only a hissing/static sound, no voice. I wished for a software fix. I did a hard reset, nothing. I did a full restore to factory settings not putting my backup on and the problem persisted.

Help me pick a new video recorder
I need a new video recorder. Please give me some suggestions in the $400-800 range. I have used a Hi-8 Sony, but the sound went, got old, etc.
My primary use will be videos taken for coaching and my family, which I will put into iMovie and eventually burn to DVD through iDVD. I have been using iMovie 4, but I will upgrade if that would be better. The coaching movies are about 25 minutes with many, many clips, as they are short highlights (2-10 seconds each).
I currently (and most likely for at least one more year) use an eMac 1.25 GHz G4 with 768 MB RAM and a superdrive.
So, give me some good options. I like having a decent screen (my current one is a whopping 3"), as I often show athletes their form during practice, although that is not my top priority.

You didn't say where you were from. I had to purchase a new camera last semester and having no job, I had no money. I went to the WALMART Website and was able to find a good camera at the lowest price. (About $50 cheaper than I could find the camera anywhere else!) They shipped it right to my house within three day.
And make sure it has FireWire! Sony has their own version of FireWire, i.Link, but you have to make sure that you can get the proper cable to use on the Mac.
Always buy the best camera you can afford!
