I am using N97 when i use web it reduces the phone memory ,
I tried to chane to mass memory but not getting that way to change the memory usage
it reduces phone memory then mobile runs slower
How to change web browsing memory from phone to mass

I'm sorry, I dont' have any good news. I'm not experienced in this technical aspect but I gather there is little you can do if the mass memory is wiped. The only thing I can suggest is that you back up regularly, so this doesn't happen again

Im getting **bleep** off with my N97 I need help!

It is a good phone and i've been excited about all I think it has the potential to do but, i am getting frustrated with the applications constantly freezing on me all of the quick office documents just freeze
All i want to do is learn is phone inside out
I can't sign into my hotmail account
also does anyone have links to the possible downloadable games for this phone?
again all of the game applications just say loading and freeze
and when i try to update te phone with the hope of speeding it up, it just says that their are no updates
I want to be happy with this phone, but nokia are making it hard for me. is there a nokia store in london with a helpful people to go through this with me similar to the apple mac store where they give so much support??

Regarding the general instability problems, I am assuming from your comment about no updates you are still running 10.x firmware?
If so, there's nothing you can do to get v11.x quicker, however there may be a few things you can do regarding some of the application problems. Firstly, using your phone's browser, go to store.ovi.com and you will probably be informed an update is available for Ovi Store. Install it.
In Applications Menu, there is a utility called Software Update. Have you tried running it? Nokia released several software updates (I had 5) a week or so back and these are all useful updates, particularly the C: Phone Memory Update. One of them, N-Gage is the N97 gamer store. You'll find games there and in the Ovi Store.
Once you've installed the updated, try powering down the phone and then load up the Ovi Store and replace any apps you may have like Facebook, AccuWeather, AP News etc. Not only will this refresh the apps, but it'll install them on your mass memory storage and remove them from the phone memory, freeing up some space.
Finally, just try clearing your personal data from the phone in the web browser. Maybe your phone is getting low on memory.

Nokia N97, can someone help me please

Okay i've had my Nokia n97 for more than 6months now and its been working great except lately my facebook app wasn't working and i had to update it,
so last night i backed up my files on my mobile and i connected it to the pc and updated it with the program that the mobile brings with a cd it was okay then i went back to restore my files and it said it had to restart so it turned off and i went to turn it on again and it stayed a blank screen with the nokia sign in the middle in blue (when you turn it on it that usually shows) but it stayed stuck there it doesn't go to pin code nor anything, and to turn it off i have to take the battery off,
any ideas how to fix this or i have to go to the shop?

Yep, if you could not use facebook on the webbrowser, it would likely be some issue with facebook (servers etc.)
There a lots of posts on different ways to handle the full memory message.
Fw update, clean privacydata in browser, change messagememory to E, or soft reset. Use the searchbar and see if you could find anything. Gotta go to bed now. The n97 is a buggy device, and many customers experience wierd behavior. Often it is caused by low memory on C, corrupted storage as memorycard or E, or bad apps. You could always try a reboot too.

N97 SMS Memory

Hi!
My Nokia N97 failed yesterday so I had to hard reset it and than reinstall the operating software. I am now re-programming all the settings on my phone, but for some reason, in SMS, I can not set the memory to E: Mass Memory, it will only stay on C: Phone Memory or F: Card, however I had a bunch of important SMSs on my phone on the E: Memory, and now I cant access them. Any idea on how to solve this?? Do I need to reinstall the phone software AGAIN?? I press the E: Mass Memory link and the phone just acts as if nothing happened.
Can someone please help me?

@hadimassa: Thanks very much for the tip. There are indeed a lot of active processes. Most of them seem to be there with nothing you can do about it. Some of them were due to applications I installed but did not think of being loaded (e.g. Truphone).
But none of these could explain the out of memory problems I was having. I really had only a few applications running that I could influence
I have fixed the problem, at least temporarily: I have removed the battery from the phone, reinserted the battery and the N97 feels as snappy as immediately after upgrading to the v20 firmware. And the memory issues have gone. I hope the memory issue does not come back. But it feels like some applications are not freeing memory and the N97 doesn't interfere.

N97 Phone Memory getting full

Hi there,
My Phone Memory is getting less and less everyday, and I don't know why! I have my messages being saved to my Mass Memory, all images, photos, videos, applications, and so on are also being saved there!
I tried the file manager on the cellphone, to look at every single folder to see if there is anything to delete, but everything is empty!
Where is the memory going to?!

N97 Phone Memory Filled Up

Hi,
I am using N97 rom 02-Aug-09. everything was working fine untill i notice tht my phone memory is getting filled up although i never installed any application & i hv set my default memory as mass memory from the very beginning. for nokia care in india the only solution is format/soft.update. moreover they couldn't even trace where the memory is occupying so that it could be set free.
can anyone please guide me !

Odd, thanks like TOO MUCH other files. I dont really know what these other files are myself. They sometimes clean themselves out..
However, I do notice that when I uninstall apps, some other files go as well, and when I reinstall them they dont come back. I used to have this problem myselft, however I just formatted my phone and became more cautious in putting anything in it. So far the "other files" hasnt grown in months.

N97 mass memory problem

Hi,
the mass memory (32GB) has disappear from my N97. When I connect my N97 with my laptop using Mass storage mode, I can't see the mass memory icon on my laptop, even using the PC Suite mode and I still can not see it. The most important is all my document in the mass memory has disappeared including some photos, music and applications. Also,in the file mgr, it shows "memory in use".
So, wut can I do about it? Can someone help me? Thanks

N97 mass memory dataloss

My friend has N97 phone with some memory problems.
This morning she had appr. 1200 emails (mostly headers only) and appr. 900 textmessages in
her phone. That all was in E: mass memory. It seemed like the amount of these messages
slowered the phone.
I tried to help her so I reorganized her email account. I left emails of august 2009 in her "inbox" and
moved older messages to other folder. There was some 200 messages left.
Then everything went wrong.
I opened her email account from her phone and the phone started to update emails. The phone
went totally jammed for a long time. And when I got it back again all textmessages had disappeared.
900 important messages.
The phone works well and you can use E: mass memory but there is no textmessages there.
Please, can somebody help me? Is there any way to get this information back? She don't have any
backups (the phone is less a month old).

PS. I copied all data from her phone in mass storage mode to my laptop, is it any help?

Hi n95a1,
It seems to me my case I wrote few days ago is one tiny part of the big amount of problems Nokia has with N97. Spending last days reading your messages about N97 there, in my opinion, are software bugs tightened together and causing multiple different problems to customers.
But I want to believe the new firmware 2.0 Nokia introduced in Stuttgart week ago will take step forward and gives us the phones we bought.

N97 Mini Memory Card Problem

I've been having a problem with my N97 Mini since installing a SanDisk 16Gb Memory Card.
When switching on the phone it quite often reboots. It will then work fine.
I also get 'memory full' or 'security module' errors. I can fix the issue by rebooting or ejecting the memory card in the file manager (even though I don't need to physically remove the memory card).
If I remove the memory card it works fine and I can't reproduce the errors.
I tried reformatting the card but it hasn't helped; even though it's blank.
Could it be a problem with the phone hardware, the memory card or the firmware (I'm running v11 on vf uk)?

So I've now switched to a Nokia memory card.
It came in official Nokia packaging, however there's no markings on the memory card or included adaptor that it's made by (or for) Nokia. Having looked online I can see there are other examples of this.
I did wonder if it was genuine!
However it works much much better with my phone.
The Security Module Error has completely gone, it very occasionally does the random reboot on startup, and gives a 'memory full' error, but I think this may be due to an issue with Ovi Maps and the amount of music I have on there.
I will try (another) full reset just to make sure but otherwise the phone's now working well.

N97 mini memory issues

i got n97 mini.
i had some probs with it so i started saving apps from ovi on my memory card and my msgs on the mass memory so if my n97 need to be reset i wont lose too much data.
now i got two probs ,
1. i installed couple of programs from ovi, and they worked for a while and now when i click on them it doesnt do anything, i tried to uninstall them but they dont apear on my installion apps, so i tried to download again from ovi but it doesnt let me download what i already downloaded , i even formatted my memory card , now all the apps icons removed but still i cant download from ovi.
2. the msgs on the mass memory works but once in a while when i receive or send an sms i get an error msg which tells me that now it will use the phone memory, andi need to go to settings again and chage it to mass memory and the msg i had just sent is saved on the phone memory and not on the mass memory.

Hi, for message storage, it's a tait of Nokia phones, thet after connection by usb that the storage point will revert to C, so when I disconnect my phone from computer I always check it's still set to E.
As for apps, there are loads of sources other than Ovi, try Getjar .com, you can download to computer and just drag and drop.
As for ovi store, I don't use the app, I simplyuse web browser to go there (it keeps trying to make you install ovi store but ignore it, just select exit.) find the app you want log in and download.

Safari won't open web pgs, says cannot allocate memory - HELP?

Just got iPod Touch, connected to WiFi, but any web page I try to open with Safari gives me the same message: *POSIX error 12, Cannot allocate memory. NSPOSSIXErrorDomain.* What on earth does this mean, and why can't I open any websites??? Grateful for any assistance! Thanks - lizmo

Oracle 9i Database installation error ORA-27102: out of memory HELP

Appologies if this post has been answered already, or if I am meant to post some data capture to show what is the issue however i am a bit unsure what I need.
I have downloaded oracle 9i for my university course as I need to have it to do some SQL and Forms building.
I have had a lot of issues but I have battled through them - however now I am stuck on this one.
I install Oracle and then the below:
Install Oracle Database 9.2.0.1.0
Personal Edition 2.80gb
General Purpose
I leave the defualt port
Set my database name
Select the location
Character set etc
then the database config assistant starts to install the new database at 46% i get the error on a pop up window :
ORA-27102: out of memory
How can I resolve this??
I am a mainframe programmer and not at all in anyway a windows whizz - please oculd someone help a dummy understand??

You have too few RAM on your machine, even you could successfully create an instance, it's going to slow as hell.
When you run DBCA to create database, instead of actually creating the database you could choose to dump the SQL scripts and files used for database creation to a directory. This way will give you a chance to modify pfile and reduce the SGA parameter. I believe the default SGA of instance created by DBCA is already beyond your RAM limit.
