N97 : Youtube won't work

I have tried using the N97's default browser, the application shortcut for youtube and also downloaded Opera mini. In none of them will youtube work. I can get to the youtube site but when I select any video they will not play. Just a black box where the video should be.
I have tried via WAP and via WIFI and same response. Any ideas?
Thanks

The short answer is im not sure.. I did a factory reset on mine (i mean through the menu system under 'phone' etc..  Not using the code that you key in.  Anyway it just changed all the settings.  It did NOT wipe any of my data at all.
I have to say i had the same problem as you again last night.  Basically i was trying to get Iplayer working (and succeeded, but when i did youtube stopped working).  I can get either app working but not both at the same time!  I do this by changing the network settings around and a bit of good luck.
In Iplayer i get 'content is not available' or something, and in you tube i get the same as you.
You need to play wit hteh realplayer settings, the browser settings and the VideoandTV settings to make sure they all tie up.  Also having lots of net connections already open (say by your widgets) will also restrict your ability to access.
At the moment i cant even conenct to the net so ive changed something silly lol.. Its annoying to have to play around with it, but being an early adopter i expected to have too.
Good luck

  • YouTube won't work in any browser

So I'm running 10.6.7 on my Mac and YouTube just doesn't work in any capacity, on the page itself (which doesn't load properly and seems to ignore that I have Flash and/or Java) or embedded. No, wait! I just spontaneously got two embedded videos to work, which is the first time in days. Before now, I wouldn't even see them on pages; there would just be a big blank space.
I've made sure I've got all the updates. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Java and Flash. I dumped the "preferences" folder in Macromedia/Flash. I've rebooted a few times. I've opened Safari in 32-bit mode. I've tried to open YouTube in Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Opera. And guess what? Not a single of these things has worked.
It seems unrelated to my connection because YouTube is working properly on the PCs in the house. Also, video sites like vimeo are working for me, so it doesn't seem to be a Flash problem, though like I said I reinstalled it anyway.
Possibly related is the fact that a lot of images embedded on webpages appear broken or dead to me, even though I've verified with a bunch of other people that they're working. The same applies when it comes to working across browsers--those images don't appear even if I open the same page up in Safari.
I just plain can't figure out what to do anymore. I've run out of things to Google. Any suggestions?

No, nothing changes. It reloads still telling me to join. I tried it in the latest Safari as well, but no dice. My default browser is Chrome, but I've been trying everything that doesn't work in Chrome in Safari because I might as well, right?
I mean clearly it's an issue with my Mac, because if it were just a browser thing, YouTube would be working in other browsers, and if it were a YouTube thing it'd be happening to everyone else, and if it were a connection thing it'd be happening to everyone else on my connection, but it's not so it must be my Mac but then...you know...what is it? Apart from YouTube and the weird images thing, which seems to be a recent development, I haven't noticed any other symptoms.
But the YouTube page won't even load properly for me all the way. It's not limited to the video, it's the entire page refusing to load any images or anything other than plain text. Except, bizarrely, the login page, which looks just fine.

  • YouTube won't work on any device, rest of Internet fine.

I have periods in my house when YouTube will not work on my MacBooks, iPads or iPods. I'll get the rest of the Internet fine, but YouTube on these devices only brings a black screen and spinning dial.

It may have been - I did disable it (was my first thought), but that didn't work. Disabled it on another router and it still didn't work - have just disabled it again and it's all working again! My 4mb line speed (welcome to South Africa) is now flying at 8mb speeds so I think it definitely has had something to do with our ISP. Strange strange but thanks to you all for making the effort to help - much appreciated!!

  • YouTube won't work (app and safari)

I just recently got my iPhone 5s and today I just realized youtube is not working. Neither the app nor safari will work. It webpage will not appear and no links in the app work. Videos will appear, but it gives me an error when I try to sign in or watch a video.
    Any tips?

If you cannot browse with Safari either, you are not connected to the internet. Assuming that you have set up your wifi connection, try switching your router off for a few seconds, and back on again. Give it time to settle and try again.

  • Firefox on a Mac, and YouTube won't work

I've looked through related posts here and have been unable to solve my problem.
I'm running Yosemite on a new Mac Air. I have FlashBlock, Ad Block, and NoScript installed. I had all of those on Firefox on my previous Mac running Mavericks, with no problem.
When I'm on youtube, I can't play videos. I get the black screen with the cursive "f" in a square in the middle of the screen. Normally, if I click that square, the video should load and play - but no luck.
YouTube content embedded in other sites - for example, on a media link posted on Twitter - plays with no problem. If within that player I click on the YouTube icon - which should open YouTube in a separate tab to play the rest of the video - I do get the new tab, and it opens the right page on YouTube, but again, it won't play.
I've attempted to fix this by:
    - reinstalling of Firefox;
    - updating Firefox;
    - disabling all add-ons
    - restarting Firefox in safe mode.
Nothing gets YouTube to work. I can watch it in Safari, of course, but then I get all the ads. ;)
    Any new ideas?

The solution was embarrassingly simple: I whitelisted YouTube in Flashblock.
Which doesn't solve all the mysteries - why didn't YouTube work when I started Firefox in safe mode? Why did I never have to whitelist YT before? - but, mission accomplished.
I'm glad this is here for the next person to find, in case it's helpful.

  • N97 camera won't work when opening the lens/runnin...

I have the latest firmware v21 (jan 14 2010). This problem persists from firmware 1.0 (first firmware) and until now.
The problem is when I open (slide) the lens cover to take pictures, the camera application runs, displaying all the button/menus but in the middle where the scene should be displayed is black.
I can still adjust options such as flash, zoom in/out but its all dark, as if there's something covers the lens.
When I try to press the "Capture" button, either the hard one or the one on screen, it says "processing" and stay there forever.
This problem does not happen all the time, but rather 80% of the time. When I reboot the device, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. I think it's most likely to be the sooftware problem.
Anyone got the same issue that you can't use the camera at all on your phone? Should I send it for warranty?
    Thanks,
    -Caten

You gotta send it back. I didn't have this problem I had another, BUT when I sent it back many, but not enough of the phone's "slow ups" were because of a faulty lens or something like that. RMA it asap.

  • My YouTube won't work on my iPhone 4s

Every time I try to watch a YouTube video on my iPhone 4s it says "unknown error" and won't play. I've tried numerous videos and it doesn't help.

Try resetting all settings/ restore the phone. But be sure to backup. These steps are the usual resolutions. I don't really know anything else that would solve this issue. I'm trying to look for an article for this but it didn't help. Maybe you can try searching youtube forums.

  • YouTube won't work on my iPhone.

When I try using the built-in YouTube app to play videos, I get a message saying "the operation could not be completed". I've tried using the app while on WiFi and on 3G (don't know about the 3G signal, but the WiFi one is strong), but neither of them works. I've also tried using YouTube from Safari, but the videos are just stuck on loading, they never begin to play. Any suggestions as to what I can do to fix this?

I tried everything above-suggested and none of them worked.
Finally, I found the solution in the following:

The youtube thing is still unknown, but to delete apps, do the following:
Press and hold any app on the screen until it begins to wiggle around and an X appears in the corner of each app.
Tap the X of what app you want deleted. (Primaries like Youtube and Safari cannot be deleted)
Once finished, Tap the home button to exit the deleting mode.
WARNING: deleting an app will delete all data associated with that app. Save Games included. (LITE and FULL Versions will not be affected by each other)

  • EA3500 IPV6 tunnel resets to automatic--Youtube won't work

    Hi
This problem description pops up quite often when searching the net but I,ve never seen a resolution.
I have to go back into settings and deactivate the IPV6 tunnel daily to keep access to youtube.  My provider does not support IPV6.  Saving changes has no effect
Is there a way to ensure that the IPV6 tunnel remains deactivated?I have  firmware version 1.0.30 build 126544 2011-12-24.  Firmware update function says I got the latest version.
    Thanks for any hint

Would that mean that I'd have Toset up an account with the Cisco connect cloud?  Isn't there another solution?
I believe upgrading to the Linksys Smart Wifi firmware would be the best thing you can do to resolve the issue.

  • YouTube is not working

YouTube won't work on my iphone.
I am connected to my house's wireless connection, Safari as well as the Music Store on my iPod work fine.
    But this message comes up:
*"You must first connect to iTunes with an Internet connection to enable YouTube."*
I have connected to iTunes on my touch multiple times trying to do what the phone is imperatively suggesting as the solution … but with no success
    What’s going on here?
+Does anyone have an answer? Maybe a solution? Facing the same problem?+

Because you my friend have a hacked and/or unlocked phone. This is why you get this error.
