NAC In-band problem

I'm working about a solution in-band.
The topology is INET(untrust)-Router-CAS-SW_level3-CAM and servers(trust).
My problem is that the users in untrust network have access to the trust network, they don't authenticate and don't apply any rule. The end users are windows XP and don't exist any filter in the CAS.

For this you will need to create policies for the untrusted role.
Sounds like you have it allowing all traffic from untrusted to trusted.
Cheers
Matt

  • Dell Ultrasharp 2007WPF Banding Problem?

I have set my sights on getting this model for a widescreen monitor (sorry Apple, 700 bucks is too much). The only thing I have heard about it is this "banding" issue. Do anyone of you know what I am talking about? What exactly is it? Does anyone here have this monitor?
Also a guy is selling them brand new on ebay for 260 dollars (everywhere else $380-410). Could these be all rejects of this banding problem? Or are these just great prices?
    Thanks

    Tyler,
    No, $700 is too little.
I had the 20-inch connected to the exact same Power Mac that you have.
    Now, I have the 23-inch.
Take my word for it. Spend the $1000 for the 23-inch. It is worth it.

  • Pixelated gradient banding problem

Hi, I've found that Photoshop CS4 has just developed a problem where gradients become pixelated and produce banding like in the image below.
This was produced by making repeated marks in the same place with a brush at 24% opacity.
I've also noticed banding in gradients.
I've been trying to research it and all of this has only just started to occur today, so I don't imagine it has anything to do with my monitor setup (particularly because of the pixelation), which is a commonly suggested answer.
This document setup was 8-bit, RGB Color mode, 72 dpi.
    Thanks

    Hello.
I just bought a Dell u2410 Ultrasharp verA02 and it's more like UltraBanding.  At least I notice the banding much more on this monitor than on my older 19" samsung. In fact I didn't even notice the banding at all on that monitor. Tomorrow I will go back and check it again to make sure.
So are you all sure that it is not a monitor problem and more of a software / bit problem? Because when I switched my painting to 16 bit in Photoshop (CS3) I had the exact same banding problems (I was painting in RGB mode but in a range of gray values). You can see it really heavy on the grays! It's so unbelievably frustrating! Any help other than what has been offered thus far would be greatly appreciated.

  • Exporting TIFFs from Lightroom 5 to Photoshop CC. Banding problem.

I get this annoying problem with color banding when i export 16bits TIFFs ProPhoto RGB (with no compression) from Lightroom to Photoshop CC. Both LR and PS working space is set to ProPhoto RGB color space. Miraculously, the banding dissapears when i convert to Adobe RGB or sRGB. Theres no banding in Lightroom, only in Photoshop. I have encountered others with the same problem, but no one have come up with a solution. Is there a solution to this problem?
    Best wishes
    Kenneth

Actually, i already have the latest drivers for my graphics card. Its an old card, so drivers is no longer updated every month with new drivers.

  • Banding problems with CS3 at 100% zoom

Just upgraded from CS2 to CS3: I always shoot in RAW, then zoom in 100% in RAW converter to check quality. I also work in 16 bit and using CS2 the tonal gradation is brilliant. However the same photo opened with CS3 Bridge shows banding when I zoom in. Same happens when I convert and open the image in Photoshop. Great in CS2, banding appears in CS3.
    Anyone else having this problem?

Thanks for the reply Christopher. I did check colour settings, but good idea. I'm happy to say I've resolved it myself, having wasted 2 days with the Adobe support line.
Figured it had to be something to do with the screen so changed to a higher resolution and that seemed to cure it. Even so, I thought somethings not right. Read the 'Readme' notes more carefully and spotted the paragraph about updating my graphics card driver. I did this and now seems to be working fine.

  • AirPort Extreme Base Station (New one) Dual band problem

Hey, I just got an AirPort Extreme Base Station, simultaneous dual-band today.
Anyone else having some problems with the 5GHz network? Seems my Transmit rate is very unstable. It changes between 7-54. It's 802.11n (5GHz) profile setting.
My 2.4GHz is staying at 54 (Since I set it for b/g).
As well, my MacBook Pro keeps connecting every time i update the airport base station, to the 2.4GHz one.

    Welcome to the discussions, dwig365!
With a good connection, the Transmit Rate at 5 GHz should be in the 200-270 range. One of the perplexing issues with 5 GHz is that the much higher frequencies used in this band are absorbed by walls, ceilings and any obstructions much more quickly that 2.4 GHz signals. In other words, there is much less "power" with 5 GHz signals.
I've found that unless I almost have line-of-sight between the router and my laptop a few rooms away, the 2.4 GHz signal is stronger and more stable...hence faster. Taking it another step further, although it is not as "fast" as "n", "g" level signals penetrate and saturate much more effectively. It's a question of trade offs as in return for speed, you must give up penetration power.
It is not likely that you are encountering interference in the 5 GHz band, but it might help to experiment with some different channel settings. Make sure "use wide channels" is enabled under the options button on the Wireless page in AirPort Utility as well.

  • NGS + NAC Time profiles problem

Hi, we have NAC v4.7.2 and NGS v2.0.1 integrated with each other. The problem is when creating users with time profiles (From First Login and Time Used) in NGS where it doesn't create corresponding users in NAC automatically via API. The time profile (Start End and From Creation) works perfectly. May I know what seems to be the problem? I have attached sample picture of NGS and NAC.

Can you post a screenshot of what your report looks like when it should be failing but shows up as passed (green)?

  • Photoshop cropping is causing a banding problem.

I am getting banding in the dark areas when printing. Photoshop (CS5) cropping is causing the problem. I reproduce fine art. Before the image is cropped it prints fine (no banding). For the final print I use the crop tool to crop to the edge of the painting and tilt the crop a little to straighten the painting. I am not using perspective when cropping and I am not interpolating during the crop. It is just the most basic crop with no sizing or ppi settings. The file printed after cropping shows banding.
I have spent an entire afternoon troubleshooting the problem and making countless test prints. It is definitely being caused by the cropping tool.

Try without tilting to straighten. I do not know how that can be accomplished without some sort of interpolation.  You may also want to try setting your photoshop default interpolation to other setting and try you crop and straighten process.

  • Color/Banding problems while exporting

    Hello,
every time I export an edited RAW-file from LR 4.3 (64bit) to PS CS5 (64bit) or directly to disc, the exported version shows "color cuts" or "banding": Where there is a continious blue sky in LRs develop module, it looks like 6 stripes of different blue in PS and JPEG. When importing it to PS as "sRGB" it's a little better, but far from acceptable. I never experienced that behaviour before, but now have a new computer. I used LR for cropping and noise reduction before exporting. Any tipps? Thanks in advance,
    Jan
    PS: Win7 64bit, Canon 1d M3

Since things are fine in LR and ACR and the only problem is in PS, then I'd like to concentrate on the ACR/PS part of things without LR coming into the picture except maybe saving settings in the XMP file for PS/ACR to use.
So start with the NEF and corresponding XMP in a folder, and use PS / File / Open of the NEF and observe the ACR rendering, then click Open and observe the PS rendering.  From what you've said, earlier, I think the ACR version is ok and the PS version is not, right?
When you use PS / File / Open the ACR workflow options are important so that's why I asked what those were.  The normal situation would be to use ProPhotoRGB 16-bit and that information would be listed at the bottom of the ACR window before clicking Open and nothing to do with the configuration in LR:

The RGB Workspace options are in PS / Edit / Color Settings.  I would suggest you set this to ProPhotoRGB and have all the mismatch warnings enabled:
Besides these settings, you might also check the Conversion Options settings at the top right of the Color Settings panel.
The thing that both I and 21 have mentioned is the turn off the graphics card acceleration to make sure it isn't an OpenGL issue:

  • Banding problem when exporting to PDF

    Hi.
I'm having a problem with a banding I'm getting everytime I export to PDF. The banding, of course, is in a gradient. In ID the image looks fine, but once exported to PDF I get that banding. I can do the same files in Photoshop and illustrator and get no banding.  I saw some other posts and people were talking about the printer, but in this case the problem happens even before it hits the printer or RIP. The problem is with the export. Any suggestions on settings that I can use to solve this?
    Thank you for your help.

On this forum, move your mouse over my photo by my posting and you will see my e-mail address. I can take e-mail attachments up to 25MB. Or you can post on an FTP server. Or you can use the service at http://sendnow.acrobat.com/ to upload files for me. (A basic account is free.) - or you can use any similar service for this purpose.
I would preferably like to see the minimal amount of your files that exhibit the problem so that implies the InDesign file with the gradient background and at least one photo with the drop shadow effect you are using. Your files will be kept confidential and deleted once we can determine what is going on (assuming we can).
The reason you cannot set any transparency flattener options for PDF 1.4 or greater is because those versions of PDF support live transparency. You absolutely want that! The moment you go for PDF versions less than 1.4, you are dealing with the problem of premature flattening which requires exact knowledge of the device resolution.
The other thing that is important to understand is that just because a particular gradient is specifiable doesn't mean that any or all or even some devices will render it well. We are dealing with conceptual specification versus physical device characteristics. The idea behind PDF 1.3 / PostScript Language Level 3 smooth shading-based gradients is that the actual rendition of the gradient to a raster is delayed until rendering time at which point, the particular RIP/device is supposed to optimize the rendered gradient for the particular device. Some RIP/printer vendors do a great job of this, others don't, and as indicated above, not all specified gradients look good when ink hits the substrate (or pixels hit the screen). Our experience is that gradients are often more art than science and we just need to experiement until we find the parameters that work to create the desired effect.
I am not trying to prejudge your situation. I believe you are seeing results that are not satisfactory. The question is what is causing them and how to finesse same. Looking forward to seeing your file (although I probably cannot get to them until at least Friday due to travel).

  • AE CS5 Banding Problems

    Hello,
I rendered a scene not so long ago for university with a black to white gradient background I created in Photoshop CS5 and i had quite bad banding going on where the gradient was ending.
I used Apple Intermediate Codec (Quicktime) and was wondering if i can make it better?
    Thanks

    Thanks for the help guys
I'm not sure why i am using Apple Int Codec, sadly i don't know that much about codecs at the moment.  When i add something to the render list AE automatic selects quicktime animation.  Maybe i should leave it that way.
I will also try a 16 bit colour depth too, its only one scene in my assignment video, the tutor told me it was banding but not to worry for now.
My normal resolution for uni is 800x600 30fps Square Pixels (1.0)
    Another Problem
I also have an HD camcorder (AVCHD) that records in 1440 x 1080 25fps so I imported the footage into Premier Pro and decided I wanted it half the size, so i told media encoder to encode it as 720 x 540 but in order to keep the "output" tab monitor the same aspect ratio I had to select HD anamorphic (1080)  instead of Square Pixels (1.0)
When i played it through quicktime it was looking good, but when i imported it into AE and dragged the footage onto the 'Comp' button the footage was all stretched upwards, so when i went to comp settings, the resolution was 720 x 540 but i had to change it to 950 x 540 in order for it to look right.
Has anyone any ideas where i am going wrong?
    Many thanks

  • NAC In-band Real IP Gateway process

    Hi all,
I've been doing a lot of research and I still can't find good answers to some of my questions. All the big questions are answered for out-of-band configuration but I find that it's assumed that understanding in-band is taken for granted lol...I guess I'm slow =P
How does In-band Real-IP Gateway work?
What is the point of the /30 subnets?
Are there access/auth VLAN pairs in in-band configurations?
    How does quarantining work?
I read that the NAC Server can only send traffic out the untrusted port in one VLAN and that you aren't allowed to trunk that port. Does this mean that there's no support for multiple untrusted VLANs mapped to a single NAC Server?
Can you do role-mapping with in-band configurations?
Any help with any or all of these questions would be GREATLY appreciated!
    Thanks much =]
    ~ Xavier.

    Hi Xavier,
let me try to answer your questions
    1.How does In-band Real-IP Gateway work?
The CAS works in routed mode, so you have different IP addresses (on different subnets) on the trusted and untrusted interfaces. Since the CAS doesn't support routing protocols, all the routing has to be configured through static routes
    2. What is the point of the /30 subnets?
The idea is to have small subnets for your clients so that with this IP config the clients in the authentication VLAN need to go through the CAS even to talk to other clients in the same L2 subnet.
    Check here for some explaination:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/nac/appliance/configuration_guide/47/cas/s_dhcp.html#wp1057889
    3. Are there access/auth VLAN pairs in in-band configurations?
If you ask if there's VLAN mapping, then the answer is NO, as the aim of the VLAN mapping is to *bridge* traffic between the trusted and untrusted mapped VLANs, but in Real-IP the CAS does L3 routing of the traffic.
    4. How does quarantining work?
When a client is quarantined, this works in the same way as in OOB, as in this phase the client is still inline to the CAS.
So the concept is that the CAS assigns the user to the temporary or quarantine role and it applies a traffic policy that you configured for the temporary or quarantine role.
    5. I  read that the NAC Server can only send traffic out the untrusted port  in one VLAN and that you aren't allowed to trunk that port. Does this  mean that there's no support for multiple untrusted VLANs mapped to a  single NAC Server?
The "single" VLAN restriction for Real-IP CAS applies only to the *trusted* side. The CAS can be the default gateway for multiple VLANs/IP Subnets on the *untrusted* side.
You configure additional VLAN/IP addresses on the untrusted side using the "managed subnet" configuration.
    This is also mentioned here:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/nac/appliance/configuration_guide/45/cas/s_deploy.html#wp1050938
The Clean Access Server can manage one or more  subnets, with its untrusted interface acting as a gateway for the  managed subnets. For details on setting up managed subnets, see Configuring Managed Subnets or Static Routes, page 5-26.
    6. Can you do role-mapping with in-band configurations?
Yes, you can do it! However, you cannot assign VLANs as you do in OOB but you can assign different access level based on the IP traffic policies and bandwidth restrictions you assign to the specific role.
Check for instance here for more details:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/nac/appliance/configuration_guide/45/cam/m_users.html#wp1040231
In a nutshell, irrespective of the use of InBand vs. OutOfBand:
    - the clients are InBand to the CAS during the CAS discovery, authentication, posture assessment and remediation phases.
The main difference occurs when the user is authorized to have access to the network and you perform role assignment both in IB and OOB but..:
    - in IB the client traffic keeps on flowing inline to the CAS, so you can apply different access policies (ACL) and bandwidth control policies depending on the role (but you cannot assign VLAN);
    - in OOB the client traffic bypasses the CAS once it's authorized: in this case you can apply different VLANs but (since the CAS is no longer along the path) you can't apply ACLs and/or traffic shaping policies in this case.
I hope this answers your questions.
    Regards,
    Federico

  • NAC in-band vs out-of-band bandwidth management

    Hi,
I am new to NAC. Would you please give me hints about bandwidth/traffic policy/QoS management when using out-of-band deployment of NAC? Is it possible NAC to configure the switch port with the appropriate bandwidth limiting template when it recognizes a certain user identity?

  • Iphone 6 plus LTE band problem

I'm from Malaysia and I will be going to U.S for business trip and intend to order 1 iphone 6 plus from U.S apple online store (Contract Free from T-Mobile) and ship to the hotel I will be stay. May I know once I go back to Malaysia, it can use under my country (Malaysia)? Does the LTE band can be support under Malaysia? Thank you.

I have this issue too. The iPhone 6 plus connects to wifi everywhere but home. It can see the network and identify it, but I do not get any connection. My laptop, iPad, and spouse's iPhone all connect to the network with no problem. The 6+ has never been able to connect at home, even though I have reset network settings a countless number of times. The latest iOS still has not addressed this problem. AND I have issues updating at home because I need a wifi connection to update the software!!!!! What can I do Apple? Trade my phone in? It seems to be a software issue. Also, some apps do not display properly (Finding Rover app on the 6+ shows only 4 buttons at the bottom of the app screen, but on the iPhone 6 and iPad there are 5 buttons.) Help!

  • AX 2.4 vs 5Ghz band problems

I have a brand new AEBS powering my network. MBP and iMac (also new) connect to it on 5Ghz band no problem. I've added a brand new AX in another room more to use AirTunes than to extend the network, but that should happen too. However, AX is only operating on 2.4Ghz band (CH 10, automatic). AEBS is set up to allow extending the network and AX set up to extend a network.
PROBLEM: If I'm on laptop and closer to AX (family room) I connect to network via 2.4GHz. AirTunes works. If I go into our office where AEBS resides and turn airport on/off, I rejoin on 5 Ghz and AirTunes can't stream music to the AX though Airport utility sees and accesses AX no problem. If I go back to Family room near AX and turn Airport on/off, I rejoin network on 2.4 Ghz band and airtunes works. However, whether I'm on 5 Ghz (via AEBS) or 2.4 Ghz (via AX), I can see my wife's machine (it's on 5Ghz) as well as network drive on the AEBS.
My wifes' iMac, next to AEBS is on 5Ghz freq all the time, yet she CAN stream to AX airtunes
Any idea what the problem is? Seems to be a glitch with my MBP It seems no matter what freq I'm on via laptop I can see all other network items including AX, but must be on 2.4 freq via AX to stream music to it.
    What's up?

Yes, I set up the AX to extend the network and I now understand it can do either 2.4 or 5 GHZ, but not both at once. I assumed that if the 5GHz signal from the AEBS in the other room is strong enough for my MBP to connect to it(~ -70-80db as indicated by Airport utility) when AX was not present then the AX should have seen and connected on the 5GHz channel. It obviously doesn't.
The AEBS is about 60-70 feet on the same floor from the location of the AX with 1+ drywall/frame construction wall between. The "+" is due to another wall in between the two units, but if you go just 3-4 feet to the side of a direct line there is a doorway in the wall. From other posts on wireless networks I've read, that doesn't seem like a huge challenge for wireless network, and as I said, my MBP (and my TiVo unit) have no problem connecting to the AEBS without the AX so it seems odd the AX wouldn't find the 5GHz signal.
    Thanks
