NAC/MARS training on Long Island NY

Hello,
I am getting thrown into projects including NAC/MARS and I have yet to see NAC/MARS anywhere in my job(s).
Is someone available in the NYC/ Long Island area that could help me out with some training?
Thanks!
pete

Thanks. I'm looking for some crash course time I can spend with an engineeer and go over some ins and outs of our environment rather than an official training course. I was hoping this would be cheaper than a trainning class just for now and help me get up to speed faster. Also, these projects are coming down the pipe soon so by the time I find an official training class and find the funds to pay for it out of pocket...

  • HELP: Extremely slow UPLOAD speed (Long Island, NY)

A little over a month ago, I signed up for the Verizon double play, home phone & high speed internet for $29.99.  I have had nothing but problems since.  I am on Long Island, NY.
At first, we experienced our home phone would not have a dial tone during a rain storm and the dsl would lose connection.  After calling tech support, they sent a verizon tech to supposedly repair the outside lines.
Now a week later, I find that the internet speed is very slow. I am using a Westell 7500.  When doing a speakeasy speedtest the download is 796kbps and the upload is at 75kbps or even sometimes lower at 20 or 10kbps.
Called tech support for hours and finally they sent a technician to the home to test the jack.  He said it looked good and the connection speed was actually faster than what I was provisioned for.  He came to the conclusion it was a defective modem.  They sent me a replacement modem and I'm still having the slow upload problem.   To rule out any wiring problem in the home, I even changed out all the old phone wire to new CAT5 wire, and this did not improve the connection.
    Here are the Transceiver Statistics:
Transceiver Revision A2pB020b3.d20h Vendor ID Code 4D54 Line Mode ADSL_G.dmt Data Path INTERLEAVED   Transceiver Information Down Stream Path Up Stream Path DSL Speed (Kbits/Sec) 928 448 Margin (dB) 8.7 14.0 Line Attenuation (dB) 63.5 31.5 Transmit Power (dBm) 16.1 11.9
It says the upstream is 448, but I never get anywhere close to that speed.  My slow upload causes almost unusable internet.
I only have 2 phone jacks wired in the house and its all new CAT5 going to the NID.  The NID is new, that they installed when I first signed up.  One phone jack for the dsl modem and one jack for a cordless phone set.  The dsl filter is on the jack with the phone and the computer is connected with ethernet wire to the modem router.
Does anyone know how this can be fixed?  When I keep calling tech support all I seem to get is the run-around on hold for over an hour each time and they never fix anything.   My thinking is it has to be something on the copper line outside.
If this is the service you get with verizon, I think I'll be switching back to cable if they can't fix this real soon.

An upstream sync rate of 448kbps will give you 390kbps of usable bandwidth after overhead. Figured I would get that out of the way for you right off of the bat.
I see you're subscribed to the 1Mbps provisioning as well. Your line isn't syncing correctly on the downstream, as the correct speed for that is 1184kbps. Get Verizon back out to get that improved, and we'll work from there to figure out the upload issue. If there is no issue with your line, ADSL2+ may work , Reach-Extended ADSL may work as well. Short of that, it's turning the speed down more than it already is due to distance if Verizon can't find a shorter way to the DSLAM.

  • HT204407 Find My Friends shows all of south Brooklyn as Long Island.

Is there anyway to report Find My Friends bugs?
All of south Brooklyn shows as Long Island.

I found this post after losing secondary iCloud account support for multiple device "Find my iPhone." We used a secondary iCloud account to locate the entire family's iDevices in one place, and Apple removed that functionality in iOS7. Someone suggested using Find my Friends, which seems like a reasonable alternative, but I'm having hte same problem you describe. Before iOS7, were you able to locate devices that were not open to the app? If so, I hope Apple decides to fix this.

  • 3G Coverage on Long Island, NY

I am thinking about switching to an iPhone 3G ( currently have VerizonWireless) when our family plan runs out early next year.
Verizon's coverage on LI is really good, with only a select few areas that I have dropped calls. A couple of friends had gotten the original iPhone and they commented their coverage on LI was not so good ( northeast and southeast Nassau county).
Checking the boards, I see a bunch of complaints of 3G coverage - does anyone know if the coverage on LI has improved/is better on the 3G network? Would coverage be better on the 3G network as opposed to the original network?
    Thanks in advance,
    David

I have a 3G iphone. I live in the Port Jefferson area and drive all over the island for work. I have 3G service all over the island. I had nextel previously and it never worked. Internet service is faster than the edge, I compare it to my wifes orginal iphone and it loads up pages in twice the speed.

  • CVS commit comment no longer populated from task after upgrade to Mars

    Hi,
after I upgraded to Eclipse Mars, I no longer get the CVS commit comment populated from the active Mylyn Bugzilla task.
    I have installed:
    Eclipse Mars CDT edition
    Mylyn Context Connector: C/C++ Development
    Mylyn Context Connector: Eclipse IDE
    Mylyn Task List
    Mylyn Task-Focused Interface
    Mylyn Versions Connector: CVS
    Mylyn Versions Connector: Git
In the preferences under Mylyn, Team I have the same Commit Comment Template that I used with all previous Eclipse/Mylyn versions:
    ${task.key}: ${task.description}
    ${task.url}
What is missing to get the CVS commit comment populated again from the active Mylyn Bugzilla task?
    Thanks
    Stephan

Sam Davis wrote on Wed, 15 July 2015 10:56CVS support has been moved to a separate feature. You'll need to install Mylyn Context Connector: CVS Support (org.eclipse.mylyn.team.cvs).
Thanks for the suggestion, Sam. Unfortunately, I can't find the "Mylyn Context Connector: CVS Support" when I select the "Mars - http://download.eclipse.org/releases/mars" update site. Must I get that from another update site?
Note that I forgot one relevant plugin in my initial question. In addition to the plugins listed there I also have installed the "Mylyn Context Connector: Team Support" plugin. So the full list of Mylyn plugins that I have installed is:
    Mylyn Context Connector: C/C++ Development
    Mylyn Context Connector: Eclipse IDE
    Mylyn Context Connector: Team Support
    Mylyn Task List
    Mylyn Task-Focused Interface
    Mylyn Versions Connector: CVS
    Mylyn Versions Connector: Git

  • Advanced Muse Training Classes/Trainer

I'm looking for a training class for Muse (Intermediate/Advanced) in the NYC/Long Island area or a skilled private trainer.. preferably a 1 or 2 day training course.. there doesn't seem to be much out there. I have many ideas but am having trouble executing and therefore, my project has come to a standstill. Please respond to my post or message me if you can help. Thanks!

the website you are referring (it's nice) does use other programs i note, which probably means some expertise in html JS and Adobe Edge (i love Edge) as much as Muse. For instance Muse has no scroll widget. I wanted a scroll capability once (and it has been recommended here before), but then i learnt to live without it and now frankly, with all the alternatives that Muse has to offer, i'd rather not use it even if it were available. The beauty of Muse is of course its simplicity and dare i say functionality (there are some things i wish they would remedy particulry when using video) which, I think, have made me a far better website designer.
So, in a sense, there's nothing really complicated about Muse and that's why I recommended lynda.com. I'm cool with basic, since Rembrandt's tools were just that. As for private training classes, I am not much help, but if there are any in your area i'm sure they will have made there whereabouts known through Google. Good luck with your project.

  • Why does my ipod touch no longer find my correct location?

Up until a couple of months ago, no problem - when at home my touch found my exact location on Long Island. But for the last two months, it thinks I'm in Maryland. My wife has an ipad. Using the same wifi network it finds the correct location. I've tried resetting the touch, but it keeps telling me I'm in Maryland, not New York. Any ideas as to why this happened, or how I can correct it?

If you've tried resetting it and that hasn't helped, then you may have to submit your wifi to Skyhook database. The only other thing is if you've recently moved I would [read this|http://www.technipages.com/ipod-touch-how-to-change-current-location.html] , otherwise you can go [here to submit your wifi to the Skyhook database|http://www.skyhookwireless.com/howitworks/submit_ap.php].
    Hope that helps.

  • How can I create a pulse train with varying pulse widths?

I'm trying to create a finite pulse train that varies its duty cycle. I was hoping there was a clever way to do this neatly. I've attached a very rough picture of the train I'm hoping to make, with the pulse widths defined with t, the delay between pulses d, and a total of N+1 pulses. Thanks!
Edit: My current method is to use the pulse train function, and actually create 2N+1 pulses, stacking the "double length" pulses.

I wound up just building the first short pulse, and then the train of longer pulses, and sticking them together. I attached a screenshot of the code I went with.

  • Lat Long Shows Wrong Result In Business Catalyst

    Hi All,
We created a custom map on BC where we use lat and long to point the place on the map. However, in the case of Long Island the result always goes to the middle of the sea. Any ideas on how to rectify this?
    Thanks.

Thanks Chris - We have created a custom map lat and longitude for the website and even put in our on lat long fields. It still shows it wrong
The address is actually an island. As you can see below it is getting the right lat and longitude but showing up differently on the map.

  • Checkpoint Firewall Management Server Lost Identity in MARS

About a month ago, we added our Checkpoint firewall to MARS as well as the 2 Firewall agents who reported to the device. The devices were recognized and running properly.
At some point in the last week, the Checkpoint management server lost it's identity within MARS. Instead of being recognized as a Checkpoint device, the server is now considered a "Generic Router Version Unknown" via the Device Type.
The agent firewalls beneath this device still exist as desired, but MARS is no longer recording logs for the primary device.
I'm ready to remove and recreate the device, but I'm interested to figure out how this could have happened. Nothing in the Audit Trail points to any weird configuration changes.
    I've posted a picture here: http://pixpin.com/viewer.php?file=mars-checkpoint-j1zc.jpg

It might have to do with bug CSCse03097 - CheckPoint LEA record comes to MARS later and later for better understanding
