NAC SSL CERTIFICATE WARNING

Hello there,
I have implemented NAC on my network. I've deployed OOB Virtual Gateway. It used to work fine when i had ver 4.6. My office relocated where everything change including the IP addreses we used on LAN. During the relocation the SSL certificated also expired. Before activating NAC on the new site i decided to upgrade to the current version (4.8) and also installed new certificates (Obtained from internal Microsoft CA Server). The problem is that i'm getting the security Warning 'The certificate you are viewing does not match the name of the site you are trying to view'. I used the ETH0 IP of the CAS in the certificate request. Both ETH1 and ETH0 are having the same IP. Any assistance please. I've tried to request the certificate again, import it and reboot the CAS but the warning keeps on appearing to users.
regards,
Stanslaus.

Ok, it looks like your IE security settings are very tight.
When the agent starts it will try discover the CAS using the discovery host sending HTTP to the discovery host IP address.
What happens is that the CAS will spoof this communication and reply to the agent itself. It seems that this action is making your PC to trigger this alarm.
I guess this is anoying...
These was see first internally in 4.6 version and was supposed to be fixed in 4.7 and later versions.
I would advise you to open a TAC case and we can follow up on you to check if there is anything to be done on the agent or PC to get rid of this.
HTH,
Tiago

  • How to ignore SSL certificate warning only for a specific internal subnet?

I understand my issue may be a little unique, but I am sure some people have come across it. I am working with some test gears that have either self-signed certificates or flat out invalid/expired SSL certificates. Since this is a lab/test environment I don't want to have to go through the trouble of generating my own certificates and load them on each test device, since they come and go quite a bit.
Is there a way to tell Firefox to ignore SSL warning, but only for a given subnet? For example, if the SSL certificate is presented by anyone in 10.11.12.0/24, accept it without question, but if it's coming from anywhere else, check its validity.
I doubt this will ever be a main feature for Firefox, but perhaps someone has come across an add-on that does this?

I suggest you to ignore self signed certificates. You should get some low priced SSL certificates to prevent your website from warnings.
I preferred to buy ssl certificates from reseller, as its low pricing.
    Some good resellers are:
    [http://servertastic.com servertastic.com]
    [https://www.sslrenewals.com SSLRenewals.com]
and you can google it for more reseller list.

  • NAC SSL certificate Issue

I recently applied a signed certificate to both the CAM and CAS. ever since then I have been having problems with the system. In the perfigo logs on the CAM I receive a lot of messages with "Certificate chaining error" in them. My question is what is the best way to roll back the signed certificates to the self signed ones? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

  • NAC SSL Certificates

    Hello there,
I installed NAC and cutover to production env. without changing the perfigo root certificate. This is because i had no CA server.
Now i've got a win 2003 Standalone root CA Server configured. What is the impact on requesting certificate from this CA and install it on the NAC server and Manager?
    regards,
    Stanslaus.

    Thanks Faisal.
I have tried to access the links but i'm getting the bellow message from both URLs.

  • Mail gives certificate warning with SSL off

Since upgrading to Yosemite, every time I open Mail I get a Server Certificate warning for each mail account even though I have SSL off for them.
At first I couldn't turn SSL off, each time I unchecked the SSL box and saved then went back in it was checked again. I then realised there was an additional checkbox in the Advanced section for Allow Insecure Authentication which kept the non-SSL settings. However, even though SSL is off for all four of my mail accounts I still get the warning about the server certificate each time I start Mail and it check the mailboxes for the first time.

    Hi
Similar issue with Mail 'allow insecure authentication'. It keeps unchecking itself on restart, screen saver log out etc.
The mail account is SSL but at the server end so doesn't need SSL in the Mail app.
Might try with it on anyway...

  • Problem in Authenticating Clients using SSL certificates in EP 7.0

    Hi all,
Our team is configuring client authentication using ssl certificates to Enterprise Portal 7.0. We have exhausted our search on SDN and have also brought SAP on board to resolve this issue.
We have completed our configuration as defined in following links
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/8a/8bc061dcf64638aa695f250ce7ca78/content.htm
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/b0/881e3e3986f701e10000000a114084/content.htm
    and SAP note 583439.
But once a client types in the portal URL a message is shown that your certificate will be mapped to your user. Although we have manually mapped our certificate to a particular user but every time it asks for user ID and password.
So in short it dosent authenticate users on their certicates.

  • Proper SSL certificate?

I noticed the note in the following URL:
    https://lenovo-na-en.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/27878/kw/ssl
NOTE: If you create a LenovoEMC Personal Cloud on a network storage device that has LifeLine 4.0.2 or above, you will receive an official security certificate for your device. Allow approximately a week for delivery of the certificate.
My ix2-dl is on LifeLine 4.0.8.23976 firmware. Is there a way for me to request an official security security certificate so I can stop using the self-signed cert and avoid the certificate warning error?

    Hello Santoku
Please see the " Is it safe to ignore my browser’s security warning? " article regarding the ssl work arounds if you have not purchased a ssl certificate from an ssl certificate provider.

  • SSL Certificate Install Problem

To all Sun App Server Gurus,
I face a major challenge trying to install an SSL certificate on our Application Server.
    The Manage Database was successful.
I filled out the certificate request form in the Security > Certificate Management > Request section and forwared the information / CSR to the CA.
The certificate is issued and validated by our CA.
I follow the steps according the documentation to import the certificate.
I specify the following to import the certificate
    1) Certificate for : o This Server
    2) Cryptographic Module: internal
    3) Key Pair File Password: **************
    4) Message Text (with headers):
    -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----
    U0UgT05MWSAtIE5PIFdBUlJBTlRZIEFUVEFDSE.....
    -----END CERTIFICATE-----
    5) Click OK
The next screen shows the certificate information which are correct as well.
After pressing "Add Server Certificate" it take about 20 seconds until I receive a pop error message. It says: "Incorrect Useage: No Private Key. The server could not find the private key associated with this certificate."
After I click OK the Admin GUI displays the following error in the browser: "Not Found
The requested object does not exist on this server. The link you followed is either outdated, inaccurate, or the server has been instructed not to let you have it. "
    Security > General
    Log Level: finest
    Audit Logging Enabled: unchecked
    Default Realm: file
    Anonymous Roule: ANYONE
In the admin server log I get the following entry:
WARNING ( 1182): for host x.x.x.x trying to GET /instance-server1/admin/bin/(null), cgi_start_exec reports: HTTP4049: cannot find CGI program /opt/SUNWappserver7/lib/admincgi/(null) (File not found)
I checked the directories and they all exist and the admincgi even has files included. I don't know which one should be missing.
I also reinstalled the App Server twice so far and used the default options.
If anyone could please help me with this that would be extremly helpful.
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Martin

    hi,
I tried to install SSL certicate on a Weblogic 6.1 SP3 (running on a
Solaris 8). Following the post 5457 (found in your newsgroup) I made
    this steps:
    - I generated CSR using web application /certificate
    - I sent CSR to Entrust.com obtaining a certicate and a chain
    certificate
    - I configured the server under "Configuration - SSL" with following
    parameters:
    - Enabled = true
    - Listen port = 8002
    - Server Key File Name = <path to private key ".der" file>
    - Server Certificate File Name = <path to Entrust CRT ".pem" file>
    - Server Certificate Chain File Name = <path to Entrust CA ".pem"
    file>
    - Key Encrypted = true
    - I changed startWebLogic.sh:
    - added "-Dweblogic.management.pkpassword=<my_pwd>" to JAVA command
    line
Launchin' the script I got the following exception:

  • Check SSL certificate?

What I want is to ensure that my app always connects only to
my server (https). If someone puts https proxy in the middle it's
possible to intercept all the communication. Yes, so the user will
get cert warning prompt but it never stops anybody from clicking
OK. I wonder whether if it's possible for my app (Flex 3) to check
that SSL certificate is the correct one and refuse working if not?
My guess is not since all SSL is handled by the browser but
it never hurts to ask... maybe some Javascript gimmick could
    work?

    Hi Simone,
I'm not aware of such feature on the 4710 but rather on the ACE XML .

  • Syslog Collector failure with third party SSL certificate

    Hello,
We recently replaced our self-signed SSL certificates with certificates provided by our agency. After the change subscription attempts to the collector in [RME>Tools>Syslog>Syslog Collector Status] failed: SCLA0126: Could not subscribe to the Collector.
I believe the problem originates with the way the CSRs are handeled. An identification number rather than the actual FQDN must be provided in the common name field and this number is expected by the CA. A chain was built with multiple government CAs, and warnings received that the chain does not end in a trusted CA. My hands are bound by this policy - is there a way to make this work or any suggested workaround? Tried a DNS CNAME with the id number. No joy. I haven't tried renaming the host to the id number but I might if you think it might work and then will just cname the current hostname. We are running Solaris 10 systems. • Received an invalid security certificate warning from a new site launched on Business Catalyst

Just launched a new site on Business Catalyst.  When checking online for the first time I received the following warning in my browser " uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is only valid for the following names: *.worldsecuresystems.com, worldsecuresystems.com. "   is this normal?
    Thanks,

    Hi
Take a look to this thread, this should explain this behavior
Can I install my own SSL certificate for my domain?

  • Unable to install SSL Certificate - ADMIN4118: Only one server certificate can be installed at a time

    Hi,
We are trying to install SSL certificate (Verisign Class 3) on iPlanet Web Server (version 7). However, at the final step we are getting the error "ADMIN4118: Only one server certificate can be installed at a time"
We are following the below steps,
    Under "Server Certificates" tab,
         -> Click on "Install" button.
-> On "Select Configuration" click on "Next" button.
-> On "Select Tokens and Passwords", select default token as "internal" and click on "Next" button.
-> On "Enter Certificate Data", select option as "Certficate File" and give path to the certificate file which is having .p7b extension
-> On "Certificate Details" we are getting warning as "Duplicate Server Details Found" and it's by default using the existing certificate's nickname.
-> On "Review" page after clicking "Finish" button, an error is displayed saying "ADMIN4118: Only one certificate server can be installed at a time"
There are multiple sub-domains availble and the new certificate we want to install contains one more sub-domain.
So, say currently the subdomains present are,
    1.abc.com
    2.abc.com
    so on...
and now we are trying to install a SSL certificate having one more subdomain say 10.abc.com.
Please let us know if you have solution to this problem.
    Thanks,
    Rajesh

    Hi Rajesh,
That error is most commonly seen when you are trying to install a certificate chain into the Web Server.
The chain should be installed using the "Certificate Authorities" tab per the following steps:
    1) Login to the Admin Console.
    2) Click Edit Configuration from Common Tasks > Configuration Tasks.
    3) Click the Certificates > Certificate Authorities tab from the Configurations page.
    4) Click the Install... tab from the Certificate Authorities (CAs) page.
An Install CA Certificate Wizard opens. The wizard guides you through the settings available for installing a Certificate Chain. Select Certificate Chain when prompted for Certificate Type.
You should then see the CA and intermediate certificate(s) listed in the security database.
If you have access to MOS, more details can be found in the MOS KM Note:
Oracle iPlanet Web Server - 'ADMIN4118: Only one server certificate can be installed at a time' When Installing Certificate Chain (Doc ID 1925025.1)

  • SSL secrutiy warning in JRE 1.4 but not in JRE 1.3

    Hello,
I have applied a SGC SSL certificate from the comodo CA. The SGC SSL certificate is signed by the intermediate CA "UTN - DataCorp SGC" and the intermediate CA is signed by "AddTrust External CA Root". After installed the SGC SSL certificate into web server, I have tested the SSL connection in IE. It worked without any security warning.
If I browsed a web page with an applet embedded and the JRE was using 1.3, the SSL connection was Ok without security warning message. But if I changed the JRE to 1.4, there was a security warning to prompt that "This certificate was signed by an untrusted CA" and "Do you want to continue".
I have found that the "UTN - DataCorp SGC" and "AddTrust External CA Root" CA certificates didn't found in the Java trust store in both 1.3 and 1.4 version. Why did the security warning message show in the JRE 1.4 but not in JRE 1.3?
    Thanks and regards,

    Hi
Java Plugin 1.3 (re-)used the SSL connection of the browser, whereas Java Plugin 1.4 uses its own SSL implementation (JSSE) to open a new connection. Therefore Java Plugin 1.4 needs to verify the server certificate (using its own keystore).
    Cheers

  • Clients getting a certificate warning of an expired certificate that doesn't exist

Running exchange 2010 and clients using Outlook 2007 and 2010, clients are getting the certificate warning dialog that the certificate is expired.  The name of the server in the certificate is correct, however when looking at the certificates installed
on the Exchange server, the one that is referenced with the issued and expiration dates doesn't show up on the server.
Where could the clients be getting this from?

You need to look at each Client Access Server.  A quick way to see what SSL cert is bound is to just look at the IIS splash page:
    https://servername
You'll likely get a cert error, but just continue and the IIS splash page should load.  When it does, view the certificate that has been presented to the browser.  Ensure the expiration is good, the CA chain is trusted and the cert name (or SAN)
has the URL to the Client Access Array FQDN in the cert.
Normally, a self signed Exchange cert is not used in a production environment because the clients will not trust the publisher.  If you have more than one CAS, it's likely one of them is not using the correct cert.
    Good luck!
