NAKISA Org Modeler additional features

Hi Experts,
We have implemented NAKISA Org Modeler 4 SP 1. We would like to get insight on below mentioned points and if this can be achieved using standard or by enhancement.
1.       Is there any preferred screen size to view Nakisa Org Modeler (Org Structure) ?
2.       Is there a possibility to create Job and Job Family in Nakisa Org Modeler?
3.       Nakisa Org Modeler has approval functionality, however there are no mail notifications available for user to communicate that the task is complete. Can we implement the mail feature?
4.       Once the scenario is approved and user executes “Write Back” only OM data is updated, is there a out of box solution to update PA transaction as well (other than using RHINTE reports)?
5.       When creating a position – Attributes Employee Group, Personnel Area and controlling area has hard stop not to enter data but to choose from pop up. Is there a possibility to convert this into drop down or editable field?

2) Not in the standard product.
3) Not that I'm aware of.
4) No. See p81 (4.1 doc) of the Admin Guide entitled "OM/PA Integration After Writebacks"
5) This may be possible but might cause you lots of complications. What is the reason for wanting to avoid the pop up screen to enter the data?

Nakisa Org Modeler: Unable to create a Scenario

Hi all,
i'm configuring Nakisa OrgModeler 4.1
I have configured the Idoc receiver and i have done:
- initial load
- start check tables data extraction
I'm not able to create a New scenario, when i click the buttons ("Default root", "Choose Root", "Empty Scenario" or "Custom") nothing happens.
The db is SQL 2008
Here attached the log file

The cds.log suggests that some of the tables and columns do not exist in your database. you could take a look using a SQL client for yourself at the following.
Column ScenarioName in table Scenario.
HRPAD31.
HRP1008.
HRP1011.
HRP1013.
HRP1014.
HRP1018.
HRP1028.
If they aren't there or are malformed in some way then I'd suggest rolling the cds.log via the log manager in AdminConsole, and then running the activities Stephen listed previously. Once complete, recheck the database and review the cds.log contents if there are still issues.

In Nakisa Org Modeler3.0
If i create a scenario with Org unit, and if i publish it, whether it will create the new Org unit SAP R3.
Is it possible to create Org units and position in Nakisa Org modeler. Once approved can it hits the existing org structure???

There is no write-back between OrgModeler and SAP. This is planned for a later release.

Change log on changing or adding additional position in org model?

If an employee is assigned to a position in the org model is there a log? In CDHDR, CDPOS I can see an entry that updates BUT050 to the org unit. But a org unit could have mulitple positions and if a user gets extended to a 2nd or 3rd position we can't easily see what position was updated at what time. For each assignment there is new entry in BUT050 to the org unit

Org Modeler 3.0 SP2 error with saving scenarios

We are having a problem with the org modeler scenario saving. On creation of the scenario everything looks fine it brings you to the chart where you can drag and drop stuff around, but when you go to my scenarios nothing is there. We have even tried using the Actions -> save as feature with no luck.
I have been seeing several things in the CDS log:
ERROR com.nakisa.Logger - com.nakisa.framework.data.commandProcessor.impl.SqlServerCommandProcessor : getDataTables : Could not create a database connection. Data Element Name: ScenarioDataElement
ERROR com.nakisa.Logger - java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException
Our DB connection string looks simple and test connection/create structure work fine.

Hi Wade,
Try changing localhost to the name or IP address of the server. However, usually by setting the database in Application-wide Settings > OrgModeler Connection Settings it works okay. I suggest trying to setup a new build from the default to test it again. If the problem persists, open an OSS message.

Adding new data elements to Org Modeler.

We are trying to add 4 fields to the org Modeler. However it is nowhere to be found like in the orgchart.
Org Modeler 3.0 SP2
PA0001, PA0008, HRP1005 and HRP1008. (also linking to the texts in T001P, so we will require a table inner join)

In order to get the fields in OrgModeler scenarios you need to make sure that your hierarchy data element in the Source OrgChart contains all fields that you want. For this I recommend creating a NakisaRFC function for the additional data, creating a data element for it and then creating a linked data element to link together the new data element and the existing hierarchy data element. There is no data center in OrgModeler so you will need to do this manually.

Org model related questions

1. We created the org model in CRM 5.0. But, the client changed there mind and want to use R/3 as the system of record and want to use ALE distribution for copying the initial and delta changes of the org model from R/3 to CMR. My question is what are the implications of turning the ALE distribution ON after the CRM 5.0 org model is already in place? Or is there a way to get rid of the CRM 5.0 org model and then just run the ALE distribution?
2. Can additional attributes be assigned to the org model in R/3, e.g. Transaction type or would this additional data need to be maintained directly in CRM?
3. Are there effective dates in the org model in R/3?

Thanks for the information. My doubt is whether is it possible to replicate the same to ECC or vice verse i.e can you assign sub group to Sales group and replicate to CRM as it is?
Also I need more understanding of what you have suggested: "*If you want to buidl some logic also on those, one possible way would be to read relationships between then. For example you would read the linked org.unit to sales group org. unit. And then it would be up to the coding, what you want to do with it."

Org Determination Procedure
     Maintain determination rules. You can define new rules for both types, responsibility and organizational attributes. In both cases you can use a wizard to create the rules. You can simulate the rules created with the wizard and process them again if required.
     Maintain organizational data profile. Within the organizational data profile, you choose a scenario (for example, sales or service) for which you want to use the profile. You then assign one of the available determination rules. You can assign one rule with type responsibility and one with type organizational attributes. If you define a rule in both fields, the system finds the intersection of both quantities. Additionally, you define which organizational units are mandatory and must occur in the transaction. You can use the wizard to create and assign organizational data profiles.
     Assign the organizational data profile to one or more transaction types
Cutomizing:
IMG->Customer Relationship Management->Master Data ->organizational Management ->Organizational Data Determination ->Change Rules and Profiles->Maintain Determination Rules
Example:
     Enter determination rule 10000164 (ORGMAN_7- Det. acc. to partner at. (Reg, Country))
     choose Copy.
     Go to container tab page.
     Go to the change mode and modify the values as per your requirement on the Container tab page,
     If you want to delete an value select and right-click and choose Delete entry.
     Save the modified determination rule.
     Simulate organizational data determination based on the values in container tab page.
     Choose Simulate rule resolution and enter the attributes based on the values in container tab .
Organizational data profile maintenance
Create the new organizational data profile.
IMG->Customer Relationship Management->Master Data ->Organizational Management->Organizational Data Determination->Change Rules and Profiles->Maintain Organizational Data Profile
Example :
     Choose New Entries.
     Choose the sales scenario.
     From the list of scenarios, choose Sales.
     Use the determination rule defined in organizational model rule.
     In Organizational model rule, enter the number of the determination rule
     Fill the mandatory fields Sales Organization and Distribution Channel for output of organizational data determination.
     Select Sales organization and Distribution channel.
     Save the organizational data profile.

Org Modeler 3.0 : Silo is empty

Hi,
I'm in Org Modeler 3.0
In position details panel, under the structure tab, there is Silo. In my setup, the Silo is empty. However, if I go to Actions->View Profile, the Silo works perfectly.
Has anyone seen this problem?

Org Modeler 3.0 : Can't load scenario

Hi,
I'm on OrgModeler 3.0, with DB2. I tried to create a scneario and load it. In the application, it looks like it is able to create but it can't load the scenario. Here's the log. Does anyone have any idea? It looks like it is related to database. Perhaps authorization? database settings?

I am having a similar problem with Org Modeler 3.0 Microsoft SQL. On creating scenarios it lets me select the orgunit for the structure, but on the popup that checks off the creation tasks it gets stuck on "Importing data...".
I have tried it many times and there is also a create scenario button on the popup as well that looks like it just starts the process over.

Org Modeler 3.0 - Adding Analytics

Hi,
To what extent can we add analytics using org modeler. For example: Could we add something like total salary for an org unit?
Or are we confined to just being able to change the selection criteria to object counts? I know that Nakisa provides one for Org unit Count, but i'm curious how much flexibility we have with the tool wizard provided.

Hi Jamie,
You can configure the analytics that are available in the Scenarios.xml file. You can add as many as you like, although there is no where clause. For example, I have added some that sum up the total values of Job Evaluation per OrgUnit. You can "change" the analytic available in order to create new analytics.
If you want to use your own data you need to get the data defined in your scenario from your AppResources.xml. You may need to use linked data elements to get all the data from different data elements into one "master" data element used by the scenario. Alternatively you can just add your new data to one data table in the downloadSchema.xml. Once your fields are in your "master" data element(s) you can then map these in ImportFields.xml. You also need to define them in data element in the XML file for your scenario.

Org Modeler 3.0: Authentication Settings

Hi,
I'm using Org Modeler 3.0
When I go to security settings->Authentication Settings, the settings never takes effect. For example, I change the Authentication Mechanism to Anonymous, but I was still prompted to logon. If you enter my crendital, it says logon invalid.
I checked the log, it has this warning:

I notice something strange. First of all, it has "
" before the security folder, this doesn't look right to me. Anyway, the bigger problem is, the Security folder actually doesn't exist!
(I cross checked the same path in Org Chart, security folder exists)

You are right, OrgModeler does not have a security folder. However, if you create a Security folder in the Root folder in your build folder and put in the files from the OrgChart Security folder then this should work. I've done it before to create security configurations for OrgModeler and I'm suprised it is needed here because the default configuration does not have any roles etc.
Regarding it not saving configuration, it could be because of this or it could be because of the known bug with NetWeaver CE 7.2. Which CE platform are you on?

Org Modeler 3.0 SP2 error with creating scenarios

Hi Gurus,
In the the application Nakisa OrgModeler , version 3.0 SP2
and the build number: 0702013100, the solution is .Java, Oracle
We are having a problem with the org modeler scenario creation.
Even at a choice "Create empty model".
Steps pass successfully:
Number of records validated ok
Database created ok
And on a step process hangs:
Importing data...
I have been seeing several things in the CDS log:

Org modeler 4.1 IDoc Receiver Setup

Hi all,
in the "Deployment guide" for Org Modeler is indicated to use the following files:
sapjco.jar is version 2.1.10.
sapidocjco.jar is version 1.0 standalone.
sapidoc.jar version 1.0 standalone.
Unfortunatly, they aren't available in Sap Service Marketplace, that permits to dowload only sapjco3.jar and sapidoc3.jar
Where we can find the files?

Missing Business Attributes in Org Model

Hi,
I am working on CRM 5.0 system...In the process of creating Master data... I have created an Org model under that created some Org units.....
In any Org unit of any Org model > under the business attributes tab..... I am not able to see the entries for Division, Distribution Channel, Tupel and some other...
And also I could not see any values for division and distribution channel under BP>Sold to Party Role>Sales Area Data.....
Could anyone tell me what would be the reason.....

I hope I got your question right.
I guess the attribute entries (Division, distribution channel, tupel etc) are invisible in your system. You may check the following:
Use t.code <b> OOATTRCUST </b>
In the screen that opens select your scenario for which you cant see these entries. i.e. sales, marketing , service etc.
And then double click on the attributes/ scenarios folder from the left hand frame.
You will now see a large list of attributes. See if your attributes (Division, distribution channel, tupel etc) are made invisible becos of the check box invisible being ticked besides each of them.
If so, uncheck it. You should now see the entries.
