Name change in iTunes?

Is there a way to change the iPhone name in iTunes? For example, I have mane named "iPhone" but now I have three phones and want to change that one to "Brian's iPhone" without starting all over.
Thanks.

Double-click on the name under devices to highlight it, then type the new name.
For Lisa, double-click in the space to the right of the device image as shown below:

  • ITunes won't download to specific folder after iphone name change in iTunes

I accidently changed the name of my iphone on iTunes. I have changed it back to what it used to be named. But, now when I download a song from iTunes on my phone. It will not download it to the specific folder it used to. Now it downloads it to a specific folder called "Purchased on iPad". Songs will stay there until I sync my phone to iTunes on my computer and I click "Transfer purchases". Then it takes them and places them on "Purchansed" tab. After I finish transfering perchases I disconnect my phone and I have to go back into itunes and go to purchased tab and have to redownload them again which go again into "purchased on iPad" folder on my phone and stay there until I sync my phone again to iTunes... its a vicious cycle and driving me nuts. Is there any way to have it downlaod again to my specific folder "purchased on iphone" and keep them there? Hope someone can help.

I actually tried with two other iPod software cds, uninstalling and reinstalling, and nothing is working.
When I go into the library and look for an import button none is to be found!!!

  • Anyone else getting a computer name change from iTunes?

For about the last 3-4 weeks or so, when using iTunes, I occasionally receiving a message indicating that my computer's name is already in use on the network and it has now been changed to add the suffix of "(2").  If I leave iTunes running and go to "Sharing" to change it back, the change will not persist.  It immediately goes back to a "(2)" suffix.  If I quit iTunes and restart, everything is fine.
And there are no other computers with the same name or a name even close for that matter.
    Any suggestions or thoughts?
    Thanks!

If you get a pop-up message asking to update Firefox or plugins then such a message is likely a scam and you should never respond to such an alert to avoid getting infected with malware.
*Only update Firefox via "Help > About" or by downloading and installing Firefox from the Mozilla server and never via a pop-up or link on a web page.
*Plugins should only be updated via the plugin itself or by visiting the home page of the plugin.

  • IPhone4s name change in itunes

I just performed a sync with my iPhone, and noticed that the name of the phone had been changed on the itune screen on my computer.  Everything works and syncs fine but I can't figure what had changed the name of the phone.  Even stranger the name that it changed the phone to was one of my email passwords.  Any ideas of what changed the name?  How do I go about changing it back?
    Thanks for any suggestions.

Sorry, I should have used the search function before asking.  I just found the anser>

  • Names changed in itunes don't update on iPod Touch

I have a brand new 32 gb iPod touch which won't hold all of my music. I checked the convert to 128 kbps AAC so that I can get the whole collection on. The problem is I was cleaning up the names of some of my ripped music and I had a band that was listed twice on the iPod because there was a different spelling in the name from two different albums. Even after manually fixing the artists they still appear differently on the Touch.
I know that the 128 aac versions are completely separate from the original music but could this be why the albums are not updating? Is there a way to force the sync so the changes show up (whether my guess at the 128 aac is correct or not)?

I don't know if you have fixed this yet, but the thread isn't marked as answered. Music names won't change on your iPod if you are manually managing your music.

  • How do I change the itunes user name on my iphone?

How do I change the itunes user name on my iphone? When I attempt to purchase an app or update the existing ones, the previous owner of this iphone has their information displayed and asks for the password as their user name is automatically prompted?

The apps are tied to the account from which they were purchased.  If the apps were purchased from the previous owners account, then they would have to be updated from that account.  you should not have these apps anyway.  You need to buy your own.
Read the manual.  it will tell you how to sign into your account to buy apps.
iPhone User Guide (For iOS 4.2 and 4.3 Software)
I would suggest restoring as new.

  • HT201342 My iTunes account is under my @yahoo email address and I became accustomed to my @Me email and now like the idea of the @iCloud email address that was made. My question is can I change my iTunes account to my @iCloud name without losing my purcha

My iTunes account is under my @yahoo email address and I became accustomed to my @Me email and now like the idea of the @iCloud email address that was made. My questions are....can I change my iTunes account to my @iCloud name without instead of my @yahoo name without losing my years snd years of purchases ? Can I also create an @Mac address ? ....or is my @yahoo and my @iCloud already recognized as the same by apple and my purchases would already be fine as well as restoring my devices ?

Your purchases are permanently tied to the Apple ID (account) used to purchase them.  They can't be moved to another account and you can merge accounts.  You can start making new purchases with your iCloud ID if you want, but you will end up with two sets of purchases under two different IDs, adding further complication to your life.
Also, your @icloud email address is an alias of your existing @me address; emails sent to either address will be routed to the same inbox.  You can decide which one you want to use as your default (as discussed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5441) but you can't separate them.

Good luck.    I have been trying to report to Apple Support about a Bogus Email I received today, which said I had made a purchase. Naturally, I was to cancel this bogus purchase by giving out personal details etc to them.
The real question is: how did they get my email as someone who had purchased from Itunes?. I cannot believe that ti si coincidence.
HAVE the Australian Apple IDs [where users have supplied their email addresses] been compromised?
My report about Spam was the same as reported in 2010, when the reply was: Apple knows all about this.  What has been done about that spam from this address:

  • I have just changed my user name and password but it has not changed for iTunes/ apple - any suggestions

My iTunes user name is incorrect. I have recently changed it successfully but it hasn't changed for iTunes/apple. Any suggestions?

If the old ID ("email address") is your ID, and if your new ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID.  Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • Change of the name of my iTunes account

    Hi,
I have to change the name of my iTunes account from [email protected] to [email protected],
because I will not renew my MobileMe subscription and the email address [email protected] will not be available anymore.
How can I do this? Thx for any help!

  • ITunes window name change

In iTunes, the name of the window (in the middle at the top) should be "iTunes" but when I updated iTunes and was doing something else at the same time, I accidentally made the window name some random word and I have no idea how. It appears on the bar at the bottom of the screen too. How do I get this back to "iTunes"?

The name of the iTunes window is normally the name of the folder holding the iTunes library. It would seem you've somehow renamed this folder, then managed to open the library in the renamed folder rather than correcting the rename.
Close iTunes, rename the library folder back to iTunes, start iTunes, browse to the iTunes folder and open the library file within it.
