Name in comments

Dear Adobe Acrobat community,
I am a Adobe Acrobat XI Pro user (version 11.0.07) under Windows 8. I am trying to review an official document, however, my comments get a former informal log in nickname. I would like to show my formal name.
I tried and unticked "Always use log in name as author name" under Edit/Preferences/Comment. I also added my official name, organization, and e-mail under Edit/Preferences/Identity. I was not able to modify my log in name under Edit/Preferences/Identity.
I reboot my PC and started a new review of the document. However, the informal log in nickname still appears in the new comments. Can anyone help me, please?
Thank you very much in advance,
D. Garcia de Leon

I did the same in 1.5.1 using department table but I cannot reproduce this. The exported comment lines are like:
COMMENT ON COLUMN "DEPARTMENTS"."DEPARTMENT_NAME" IS 'A not null column that shows name of a department. Administration,
Marketing, Purchasing, Human Resources, Shipping, IT, Executive, Public
Relations, Sales, Finance, and Accounting. ';
Can you please provide a more detailed example?

  • Problem changing author name in commention tools

    Hi Forum
Whenever I do commenting in Acrobat 8, it will use my short name as author.
I would like to change that, and I don't want to change properties for each and every comment.
In the Acrobat preferences, I have unchecked "Always use log-in name for Authors name" under Commenting, but Acrobat still uses "Login name" under Identity.
Is there a way to get Acrobat to use the Identity:Name preferences instead?
    Kind regards
    Lars

You also need to change the comment name in the tooll and then 'use as
    default' option ....

  • How do I change the author's name for comments in Pages?

I am a long time Microsoft Word user and am currently testing out Pages for the first time.
Something that is extremely vital to me in my line of work is the ability to track changes and add comments to the documents.
I have found how to do this in Pages with ease, but when it initially asked me whether I wanted to allow Pages to access my comments I had the thought "why do you need to access that?" and denied it. I then clicked past the option to change the name by mistake.
Since then I have not been able to find any way to reverse what I have done, the best I can find is to change the colour that I am commenting with. I want my comments to have my name rather than "author".
If someone knows how to change this can you please let me know.
    Thanks

Never mind, after spending ages seaching I finally found it.
For those that may be interested, it can be changed in the under Pages > Preferences
    Thanks

  • Applying Album names to Comments field in iPhoto 6

I was never in the habit of applying anything to photo comments, but gave my albums a desriptive name so I knew what they were. However album titles are not searchable. I'm wondering if anyone knows how to create an Automator workflow or Applescript that could take the Album Name and apply it to the comments field for each picture in the album. I have over 25,000 pictures and quite a few albums. I've started to do it manually for each album but would love to find a quicker way to accomplish this.
    Thanks.

    Hi elenting,
It must be done within iPhoto. I started doing that awhile ago so I could find images in an album by doing a spotlight search for the album.
This is what I have done using Spotlight to find my images that are in iPhoto albums without opening iPhoto..
In iPhoto, select the album, then select all, go to Photos/batch change.
Change the comments to text. In the text field I put the name of the Album.
    Do this for each album.
    Close iPhoto.
Open Spotlight and put in the name of the Album ( you have to remember the names of the albums or have then written down)
In the spotlight search results. click on "show all"
Under "Images" click on the "xx more" to show all the images in the album.
Make sure you have it in icon view, the icon view box is the last one on the blue images line.
Now you can control click on the image to "reveal in finder", open in iPhoto or Mail, etc.
I am not sure if this is going to make you happy and it is a little more work, but you can find images in albums and even view them in a slideshow (by clicking the play arrow at the end of the Images highlighted blue line) using Spotlight, all without opening iPhoto.
I've also go to mention a useful widget called "iPhoto mini widget"
This widget will show you all images within it's viewer in an album.
for the image you are currently viewing , go to the Gear icon (menu" and you can choose to "open in" Preview, Mail, Safari or custom. It's pretty handy to choose an image and have it open in Mail to send.

  • User name when commenting

I have acrobat 8 pro installed on a window 7 64 bit pc. when i add comments to pdf files the comments are show Owner not my user name ,the name I inserted in prefrences. I unchecked the box to always use login name and it still marks the coments as owner. How can I fix this besides creating a new user?

May be an issue with AA8 on Win7. I used AA9.3.3 and got it to work, but not quite as expected. I selected the options in the comment and selected properties>General. I was able to set the author. At the bottom of the window is a selection for making the options the default. I checked that and future comments had the new name.

  • Album name to Comments

    Hi all!
Finally, I got all my photos in iPhoto! Good!
But now, i'm looking for a way to take each album name and put them as comment for every picture in tat album...
Anybody has an idea on how I can do that?
    thanks

    HI bd!
Ok... let me explain... I know it can seem useless... Maybe you have a better way to do what I want to do...
I just imported 7500 pictures to iPhoto. I still have DVD backups of everything.
The first thing I did was to create albums for each theme or occasion to sort them. I have like a hundred or more albums right now. The next task I have to do is to take each album and get rid of the bad shots... And there is my problem... There is two tihngs I want to be able to do...
1- I don't want to go through the entire main library at once. I would like to take each album seperatly and go through them one by one, to keep track of what have been done and what have not.
2- If I go in album view instead of library view and that I deleted some pics, they would still be in the library... That's what I want to avoid... I don't want to keep bad pictures...
So... I figured out that if I was able to be in the main library and filter pics by their comments, according to the album their in, then all would be good...
I hope I'm not too confusing!
    Thanks
    François

  • Automator Folder Action: File Name = Spotlight Comment?

    Hey guys,
I'm trying to have automator add the original filename of a file as spotlight comment when it is added to a certain folder. I can only use the "Set Spotlight Comments for Finder Items" in folder actions to add a specified comment, but nothing else. Is it possible to grab the file name via applescript?
The idea behind this is to preserve the original file names of all downloaded files before they get renamed.
    Thanks,
    V

Thanks for your reply, I now have your action installed and it does get the filenames, but I still can't add them to the spotlight comment text box. Looks like I didn't think this through properly.

  • Making names used to create comments anonymous

Is there any way to make user names in comments anonymous?
We receive several hundred PDFs of academic/medical/science research each year, many of which have previously applied comments embedded.
We are looking for a quick way of changing the user name in the comments to something like 'Anonymous'.
The PDFs are subsequently sent to other researchers for blind peer review, and it is important that the PDFs contain no indication of who authored or commented on the document previously.
We know that we can change names in comments one by one using Properties. What we want is a global way of changing/replacing the user names used to create previously applied comments and sticky notes.
Using Acrobat 9 on Mac OS X 10.5.4.

I tried using AppleScript, but the Acrobat dictionary doesn't give access to the author (or at least I couldn't easily figure it out with my limited knowledge of AppleScript). I just tried this in Acrobat Pro 8 on Mac, and the following works.
Under the comments menu, export the comments to a data file. The default is the same name with an "fdf" extension, so if you start with an fdf file, make sure to change the name before saving. Open this file in a text editor (I use TextMate) and you will see something that is mostly text. Do a search for the login name. You will find that it is enclosed in parentheses with a "T" tag. Simply do global replace on "T(login-name)" with "T(Anonymous)" and save the file. You could probably automate this with a sed (awk, perl or similar) script, or even Applescript.
Open up the original pdf with comments in Acrobat Pro, then import comments (under the Comments menu). All of the non-anonymous comments will be replaced with the same anonymous ones.
I tried the same on a copy of the original file (without exporting comments), and it really messed up that file, although I'm guessing that it might have worked if the new name and old name had the same number of characters.

  • Automatically add a current date at the end of the comments

    Hi,
I have a form on a table with 5 fields... on one the field I am asking my users to enter comments...
I am looking for a functionality to automatically add a current date at the end of the comments, only when they are updated or newly filled in...
Please advice how can I do it... I am anticipating some sort of a trigger on column (when the data is modified)...
    Thanks

  • Insert a directory path and file name option

I built a program that runs three tasks when a voltage triggers the data acquisition. I would like now to insert an option/control for two issues: selection of the directory where the data will be saved, and selection of the file name. How can I do this such that after I press 'start' I should be asked which is the directory where I want the data to be saved and then what is the file name?
Another option would be the following: After I press 'Start' I will have a control where I can write or browse for the folder where I want to save the data; then I have another controller where I write the new file name. So in this case I should not be prompted except the case when I am trying to use the same file name.
    Where should I con
nect this new subvi in my loop - before the tasksand before the trigger, or after the tasks and before the trigger?
    Thank you.

Programming with LabVIEW might be fun but it is quite time consuming
OK, here is what I want to do.
I have to monitor a machining process. I have to record cutting forces, power consumed, vibrations, and temperature. From each of these sensors I get a voltage as output and I used Measurement and automation and NI-DAQmx to program my tasks (I have LabVIEW Express running in Windows XP).
The triggering of DAQ is generated by the input of a 4.5V DC when the CNC program starts; the stop occurs when CNC program ends and the output voltage becomes 0V. I have finished all the connections and now I have to build the vi.
The small picture could be described this way:
I want to record the parameters and save them in files that I could process later using specific vi.
The big picture would be the following:
I would like to build a stand alone program that will do the following: when I run the program [ i. e. double-click the shortcut (or the file)] a panel should come up in the center of the screen in this panel I would like to be able to select what process am I going to investigate: grinding, turning, milling, drilling, tapping etc.
Once I selected what process I am going to investigate, the front panel of a vi should come up In this panel I should be able to select what parameters I am going to record: forces, power, vibrations, and temperature. On the front panel I should be able to see the waveform of the acquired data. A start/stop button and a led green/red for each parameter should show me the status of the acquisition (green is on, red is off). The start/stop button should allow me to manually start or stop the program at any time. Additionally, on the front panel I should also have icons with a choice for directory (folder) path, file name, and comments regarding the experiment. The date and time should be recorded in the file that is saved. There should be an option (check box or selection icon) for saving the data in binary or ASCII format.
Similar to any program, the front panel should have a toolbar containing File, Operate and Help options. The File option should contain Clear graphs, Setup DAQ and Exit and the Operate option should contain: Use digital alarm, Use digital trigger, and Write data to disk with the option to be selected or deselected. The main front panel should close when I select File -> Exit.
The File -> Setup DAQ selection should bring up another front panel in which I should be able to see the acquisition control panel (device, channels to get, buffer size, units English or metric) and the calibration factors (for the tasks, including triggering voltage) including sampling rate.
Well, thats almost all. I understand I cannot do this all at once. Unfortunately, I have a very close due date in getting the system up and ready. I am hoping that I could get some help setting up a simple program and I could develop the rest step by step later...
Can anybody help me with this program? I have attached a first attempt that would allow automatic triggering and stopping as well as displaying of forces, power and acceleration.
    Thank you in advance.
    Radu

    Hi Ishika,
    Also check your Joins.
May be you are missing something else.
Thatz the reason all the four supplier combination are repeated.
    Go through ur joins again.
Don't forget to use any number column as nvl(nu_balance_qty,0).
