Name Notation in PLSQL Code causes '= '.. '= ' when applying "Format SQL"
When comiled you have to do a search replace to fix.
Also if your wrap around is 132 lines, then Format SQL should also do the same, and not extend the lines to some ridiculous length.
Thanks you for a wonderful product.
Thanks for the feedback.
Another user Pete had the same issue
(see SQL format problem
and it was fixed today.
As for the format width(132 lines) Ill see if I can get this fixed for the next release.

Dermot.

Patch 9655006 failed with code 135 when applying to Oracle Restart
Hi all,
I install Oracle RAC single node version 11.2.0.1 on Linux (kernel 2.6.18).
I try to apply patch 9655006 (prerequis for upgrade to 11.2.0.2).
Everything is OK for grid applying with success.
When I apply this patch to oracle db home, I get :
Oracle Interim Patch Installer version 11.2.0.1.5
Copyright (c) 2010, Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.
Argument(s) Error... Given 'ocmrf' file does not exists.
Please check the arguments and try again.
OPatch failed with error code 135
I've given the complete path and filename (same as for grid applying).
I've found A document [ID 1283954.1], but not useful in my case.
Any ideas for workaround ?
TIA

Hi APEX users and developer, especially forum's active users, please get me rid of this problem because it is really very bad situation.
I have a real trouble with application. It behaves unusual. Application is used by 60 users but only 3 of them have these problem and they can not use the application anymore.
Application is
http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=70547
After fields are filled and some rows checked from tabular form in page, user submits the page. Process called newReyestr calls plsql procedure from package with inputs from page. But only same 3 users get empty fields in plsql code. I see it just after when the first line stepped in procedure.
So, "what is the problem?"Hi NoGot,
you know, I have not written big quote. The code was big. But it has no any meaning. Because problem is in first line. No need to understand it.
There is no any difference between those users. They also tried it from different browser and even computers.
BTW: I am not russian. -

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get itunes to launch properly afterwards? -

Hi Board,
i´ve search across the board, technet and symantec sites but did not found a hint about my problem.
we drive a 2 node DAG (Location1-Ex1-mb1
Location2-exc1-mb1), on SP2 RU4 patchlevel with 40 Databases.
Since some time the backup of one - and only one DB - is failing with these events, logged on the Mailboxserver on which the passive DB is hosted.
Log Name: Application

Description:
The Microsoft Exchange Replication service VSS Writer (Instance 42916d80-36c1-4f73-86d0-596d30226349) failed with error 80070020 when preparing for a backup.
The backup Application - Symantec Backup Exec 2010 R3 – states, this error
Snapshot provider error (0xE000FED1): A failure occurred querying the Writer status.
Check the Windows Event Viewer for details.
Writer Name: Exchange Server, Writer ID: {76FE1AC4-15F7-4BCD-987E-8E1ACB462FB7}, Last error: The VSS Writer failed, but the operation can be retried (0x800423f3), State: Stable (1).
Symatec suggests within http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH184095
to restart the MS Exchange Replication Service – BUT the mentioned eventID
8229 isn´t present on any of the both Mailboxservers.
The affected Database is active on Location2-Exc1-Mb1 Server and in an overall healthy state. I found during my research, that below Location2-Exc1-Mb1 Server, there are not removed shadow copies present!
This confuses me, since all Backups are normally taken from the passive copy of a Database.
So my questions to the board are:
* Does anyone is facing similar issues?
* Can someone explain why snapshots are present on the Mailboxserver hosting the Active Database, whilst the errors are logged on the passive one?
- * Does someone know the conditions, why shadows copies remain and
aren´t removed in a proper manner?
What can cause the circumstance, that only 1 DB is facing such issues?
Any suggestion is welcome!

MarkusHi Lenora,
I´ve encreases VSS / Exchange Backup Log levels to expert, before starting
those things i´ve all tried now:
- Backup from passive DB (forced within Symantec Backup Exec)
- Backup from active DB (forced within Symantec Backup Exec)
- Backup from passive DB without GRT enabled (forced within Symantec Backup Exec)
- Backup from active DB without GRT enabled(forced within Symantec Backup Exec)
All those attempts failed.
But brought some more details - the backup against the active DB states, that there is still a backup in progress and therefore this backup is cancelled by VSS.
The Solution was, that i´ve needed to restart the Exchange Replication Service on the Mailbox Server hosting the passive DB.
Backups are working again on all DBs!
THX for your replys.
Best regards

Error Code 6 when installing CS5 on Windows 7 64 bit Machine
Like many others I am getting Error Code 6 when attempting to install Photoshop CS5 on a Windows 7 Home Premioum 64 bit machine. I have gotten as far as creating the log and displaying it but am not skilled enought to interpret it. Can anyone look at this log and tell me the solution to my issue. It is greatly appreciated.
This is on a new machine with a new operating system and up to date. Lightroom 3 installed with no problem as did many other apps.

Apparently Photoshop was dependant on it being on the C dirve. When I repointed this back to my C drive CS5 installed properly.

Error Code 12 When Transport BW Request
Dear All,
I am getting a return code 12 when I execute a BW transport request from DEV to QA. When the transport starts, it actually calls a job , RDDEXECL to run. The job fails with the error :

ShrtText
The current application triggered a termination with a short dump.
What happened?
The current application program detected a situation which really
should not occur. Therefore, a termination with a short dump was
triggered on purpose by the key word MESSAGE (type X).
What can you do?
Print out the error message (using the "Print" function)
and make a note of the actions and input that caused the
error.
To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.
You can use transaction ST22 (ABAP Dump Analysis) to view and administer
termination messages, especially those beyond their normal deletion
date.
is especially useful if you want to keep a particular message.

How to correct the error
Probably the only way to eliminate the error is to correct the program.
You may able to find an interim solution to the problem
in the SAP note system. If you have access to the note system yourself,
use the following search criteria:
"MESSAGE_TYPE_X" C
"SAPLRSAC" or "LRSACU75"
"RSAR_TRANSTRUCTURE_ACTIVATE"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and you wish to send
an error message to SAP, include the following documents:
1. A printout of the problem description (short dump)
To obtain this, select in the current display "System->List->
Save->Local File (unconverted)".
2. A suitable printout of the system log
To obtain this, call the system log through transaction SM21.
Limit the time interval to 10 minutes before and 5 minutes
after the short dump. In the display, then select the function
"System->List->Save->Local File (unconverted)".
3. If the programs are your own programs or modified SAP programs,
supply the source code.
To do this, select the Editor function "Further Utilities->

E_T_TLOGOHi Mike,
We have had this problem. Please delete the change log table of the ODS in the QA or Prod system (whichever is the target for your transport request) and then reimport the transport request.

How do I override "error code -61" when attempting to put items in the Trash? Cannot empty Trash or use Secure Empty Trash. I have a MacBook OS X 10.5.8
The reason why some of the files are blocking the trash from emptying is because of specific ".app" files from third party companies like Adobe products. Not the user files or the various help documents but instead the actual mother program. Here's how to fix this problem:
1) remove from the trash all the actual software programs like Photoshop, InDesign, DreamWeaver and so on and put them on the desktop.
2) Command "I" (info) and when the dialog box opens go to the "Name & Extension" text box and remove the ".app" from the software name. Example: Photoshop.app change to Photoshop.
3) the program icon will change to a "folder icon".
4) put the folder icon back into the trash and you should be able to now empty the trash.
If you continue to get the error code 8003 it's because you may still have one or more software programs in the trash that needs to go through this process. Remember - it's not the user files or help documents or supporting files that is causing this but instead the "actual product programs".

Weird behaviour when applying XLST in PL/SQL
I came across this strange behaviour when applying XSLT to an XML document. Below is a simplified version, based on some code that I found in OTN
declare
indoc VARCHAR2(2000);
xsldoc VARCHAR2(2000);
myParser dbms_xmlparser.Parser;
indomdoc dbms_xmldom.domdocument;
xsltdomdoc dbms_xmldom.domdocument;
xsl dbms_xslprocessor.stylesheet;
outdomdocf dbms_xmldom.domdocumentfragment;
outnode dbms_xmldom.domnode;
proc dbms_xslprocessor.processor;
buf varchar2(2000);
begin
indoc := '<emp><empno> 1</empno> <fname> robert </fname> <lname>
smith</lname> <sal>1000</sal> <job> engineer </job> </emp>';
xsldoc :=
'<?xml version="1.0"?>
<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
<xsl:output encoding="utf-8"/>
<xsl:variable name="CR">
<xsl:text>
</xsl:text>
</xsl:variable>
<xsl:template match="/">
<xsl:value-of select="$CR" />
<xsl:value-of select="$CR" />
</xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>';
myParser := dbms_xmlparser.newParser;
dbms_xmlparser.parseBuffer(myParser, indoc);
indomdoc := dbms_xmlparser.getDocument(myParser);
dbms_xmlparser.parseBuffer(myParser, xsldoc);
xsltdomdoc := dbms_xmlparser.getDocument(myParser);
xsl := dbms_xslprocessor.newstylesheet(xsltdomdoc, '');
proc := dbms_xslprocessor.newProcessor;
--apply stylesheet to DOM document
outdomdocf := dbms_xslprocessor.processxsl(proc, xsl, indomdoc);
outnode := dbms_xmldom.makenode(outdomdocf);
-- PL/SQL DOM API for XMLType can be used here
dbms_xmldom.writetobuffer(outnode, buf);
dbms_output.put_line(buf);
end;
I would expect this to output two carriage returns and this is what I get with xsltproc on the Linux server. Instead, it outputs the entire source XML document without the tags, as shown below.
1 robert
smith1000 engineer 1 robert
smith1000 engineer
Now, if you change the definition of the CR variable to add some text, for example to
<xsl:variable name="CR">
<xsl:text>XX
</xsl:text>
It outputs:
XX
XX
which is what I would expect.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on here? Changing the variable definition to <xsl:variable name="CR" select="'
'" /> fixes the problem by the way.I came across this strange behaviour when applying XSLT to an XML document. Below is a simplified version, based on some code that I found in OTN
declare
indoc VARCHAR2(2000);

I would expect this to output two carriage returns and this is what I get with xsltproc on the Linux server. Instead, it outputs the entire source XML document without the tags, as shown below.
1 robert
smith1000 engineer 1 robert
smith1000 engineer
Now, if you change the definition of the CR variable to add some text, for example to
<xsl:variable name="CR">
<xsl:text>XX
</xsl:text>
It outputs:
XX
XX
which is what I would expect.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on here? Changing the variable definition to <xsl:variable name="CR" select="'
'" /> fixes the problem by the way. -
Worker fails when running MSDODPCODE.sql causing ORA-33290 and ORA-06512
Hi All,
Hopefully somebody can help / point me in the right direction. I'm testing the process of upgrading our R12.0.5 Financials (Database 10.2.0.4) to R12.1.3 and have hit a problem when applying the 12.1.1 Maintenance Pack.
The worker has failed with the following in it's log file.
"sqlplus -s APPS/***** @/u01/app/applmgr/CGSYSTST/apps/apps_st/appl/msd/12.0.0/patch/115/sql/MSDODPCODE.sql
begin
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-33290: Analytic workspace ODPCODE cannot be attached in the mode you requested because another user has it attached in an incompatible mode.
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_AW", line 67
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_AW", line 131
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_AW", line 792
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_AW", line 767
ORA-06512: at "APPS.MSD_AW_LOADER", line 10
ORA-06512: at line 3"
It might be worth noting that I also hit the same problem when testing RUP 6 for R12.0.6 - it was partially because of this that I decided to scrap going to 12.0.6 1st and go straight to R12.1.3 - making it a much bigger upgrade.
Thanks

OutOfMemoryError when applying an xsl transformation
Hello,I have an OutOfMemoryError when applying an xsl transformation to generate
htmlcode in a web page. I'm running Weblogic 6.1 sp2I think the problem comes
from the objectin which th html is stored during thetransformation. The problem
only occurs from a minimal xml size. I could fixit by increasing JVM allocated
size but I would like to find a more flexible solution. If I know an other way
to solve this problem, I really would appreciate !
Thank you,
Laurent.
[AgentsGeres.jsp]
Hello,
You might try asking your question in the JSP newsgroup:
http://newsgroups.bea.com/cgi-bin/dnewsweb?cmd=xover&group=weblogic.developer.interest.jsp
There just may not be a more flexible solution :-)
This doc may be of some value, see chapter 2:

Hi gurus, I am using a db adapter for polling options. The option used is 'Delete the row(s) that were read' . Here the retry count by default is set to unlimited. Is this the recommended one? In normal db adapter options i see the retry count as '4'
