Name photos in Album, put photos in forum

This is really crazy, why can't I name my photos in Album??
And another thing.
It appears that I can't put in photos from my Z3 in forums. When I click Find photo (or similar) in the forum I get no link to my photos or album!
This is really frightening as this makes the whole camera part of the phone pretty useless, and the xamera was THE reason I chose this phone!
I am beginning to think there may be some serious problems with Sony? Why haven't they fixed this long time ago?

As far as upload pictures on the forum from your xperia, go to your profile, scroll to the bottom, click full version, then you'll be able to upload pictures

  • Can't find Master Photo from Album Version Photo

I've just installed Aperture and imported my iPhoto library. From my reading I've learned that photos can only be in one project at a time. They also have to be in a project. At least that is my understanding.
Some of the imports have the context menu option of "Show in Project" while being viewed in an album but when selected the browser area is empty. At first I thought maybe I was looking at a Master in an Album. But that's not possible is it? Is it not true that a Master MUST BE in a project. (Not an album.)
The iPhotos were brought in as projects and put under a folder called Events. If I select that, I can find my photo that was in an album but using search. I'm guessing that this is the Master? I still don't know how to find the project it's in other than go searching through each Project under the folder Events.
Have I done something wrong with the import? I set it up to bring everything in to Aperture. (Managed)
I'd really like to be able to "go to" the Master and Project of any picture I'm looking at in an album. I just tried to create a new version from the Master while in the Album view. That worked. So it would appear that the link is still there. But to where that link is or to what Project it is pointing to, for many of my photos, I don't know.
Is there a way to link these Version photos in albums back to their respective Projects?

    Thanks for the reply CalxOddity.
I have 449 projects, some of those created since the import but most from the iPhoto import. These projects "created" during the Import for the most part have names like Jun 21, 2010 or Roll 128. Most have little meaning to me. I suspect these were the default iPhoto "Event" names?
I never really used iPhoto "Events" but rather imported into "Photos" and then used Folders and Albums to organize from there in iPhoto.
Yes, I can see the images in the newly created from iPhoto Projects. In fact, they are all contained in a folder called Events and when I click on that I can see all of them. (Except for the ones in that album that wouldn't let me context click and select the "Show in Project" option.
I may have corrected the situation.
I had quite a few pictures of a 1994 Honda Prelude SI I used to own. They were all in an Album but "Show in Project" didn't work. However, in that case, I also have an imported Project by the same name as the Album under the Folder named Events.
Events (Folder) / 1994 Honda Prelude SI (Project) <-- Imported from iPhoto.
No photos were showing in that project but that's where they should have been. One of the few times I used Events in iPhoto I suppose.
So, I drug the photos from the Album to that project. They went. I can't remember if I had to drag them back to the Album but now in the Album, I can context click and select "Show in Project" and I'm taken to that project instead of an empty browser window.
Anyway, the short answer to your how do I use the Albums for is organization. Everything was done with Folders and Albums with little interest in "Events" in iPhoto. Maybe that was a mistake? In Aperture, I've continue my Folder and Album ways. To me, I think of a Project as a place to hold the original, the Master image. I'm obviously not a pro and I'm not really trying to be. I just want to learn more about photo editing and photography in general.
Say, if I created a project called "iPhoto Import" and then selected all images under the Events folder and moved them to the new project, would I not be putting all my iPhoto Imports in one place? One big project? Seems like that action would correct any more like issues I haven't found yet. And since I do all my organization with Folders and Albums I could delete the Events Folder after and clean up all those meaningless projects. Thoughts? Feel free to take me to task on my organization method or lack thereof.

  • Deleting photos stored under photos, not albums in photo app

I want to delete the large number of photos in within my iPad's photo app stored under photos, NOT those organized under albums in this app. How do I do this? I have checked Apple discussions etc with no success. It is taking up a lot of space on my iPad!

The photos that are shown under the Photos tab in the Photos tab are the same as are shown under Albums - it's just a way of viewing all of your photos on one screen, they aren't separate copies of the photos. So if you delete a photo from the Photos tab in the app, it will also be removed from its album.
To delete a photo from the iPad, then if it was taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc then you can delete them either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon top right of the box with the arrow coming out of it (Edit button on iOS 6) in thumbnail view. Photos that were synced from your computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from on your computer and then re-syncing.
Note that if you've copied photos into new albums that you've created directly on the iPad, then effectively you've only created pointers to those photos and not created separate copies of them - so if you then delete the original photo, you will also be deleting all pointers to it (so it will be removed from all albums that you've 'copied' it into on the iPad).

  • Missing photos from album, Missing photos from album

I have spent hours and hours sorting out my library into albums. iPhoto froze and I had to reboot. When it came back on it had lost some of the photos from the albums I was working on. As I was sorting the photos I was flagging them so that I would know where I was up to in my vast library. All the photos are still in the library and are still flagged. So it makes no sense to me and I am totally frustrated at having lost hours of work. I have no way of knowing now which photos have been dropped from any one album and will have to unflag the whole library and start again. For example I know one album had over 80 photos sorted into it, now it has 33. Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone know if I can somehow restore the albums.

I have so far flagged 1806 photos which means i should have 1806 photos across the albums but i have 1938 in the albums now)
There may be now a few photos appearing in more than one album - a photo can appear in more than one album.
But I am glad you could restore your albums.
If you are working for a long time on a project, you might consider to quit iPhoto occasionally, to force it to save the databases.
iPhoto froze and I had to reboot.
Do you know, why iPhoto froze? Have you installed new software lately or upgraded software?
Are you perhaps running low on disk space? Make sure, you have plenty of free disk space; don't let it drop below 20GB, or the operating system will have problems and gradually slow down. Ultimately this can cause system crashes and data loss.

  • Photo stream not showing up under photos?  There is options for photos and album under photos but no photo stream

I just bought an ipad mini 2. However, could not find photo stream under photos. Why?

Hi there, thanks for the answers. I think I didn't explain it clearly. I have enable photo stream, however I couldnt see my photo stream album in the Photo app. When I take photos from my iPad mini, it synced to my photo scream on my iPhone so i assume I am using the same iCloud account. But this photo stream album does not appear on my iPad mini.

  • Why does the Photos app not put photos in order of date when you create albums?

I have a lot of photos taken on holiday in Iceland and wanted to create an album of just the best ones to show friends. When you look through the whole lot in 'Collections' they are in date order, but in the 'Album' they are jumbled up. Anyone know how to reset them into order? I know you can move them around by 1. holding it till it wobbles then 2. moving to another place in the sequence ... but this is both impractical and horribly complex when dealing with a large number of photos. There should be a 'sort' feature that allows different options within albums, As an IT professional since 1967 (yes there were computers then ;-) it just seems odd that such a basic feature is missing. Come on Apple, get your act together!

Bug in iPhoto '11. Apple just released iPhoto 9.1.3 designed to fix this.

    Hi LoboCatholic,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature of the issue you are desscribing. I am not certain that this will address your specific issue, but if you are having photo organization issues in iOS 8 on your new iPhone 6, you may find the following article helpful:

  • HT201302 Old iphone 3g has photos on it. When I plug into my imac iphoto and image capture only bring up photos in the camera roll. There were more photos on albums and photo library on the iphone that arent showing up in iphoto and icapture.

My old iphone 3g has photos on it. When I try to get the photos off and onto my imac iphoto and image capture only bring up the camera roll. I have more pictures that arent on the camera roll there are albums and a photo library full of pictures that I want off of this dang phone. I have tried everything and I cant email them to myself because the service has been cut off of the phone. They are stuck on the phone there is there any way to get them off? Am I missing something.

The iphone is not a storage/backup device.  It simply mirrors the selected content of the computer to which it is synced.
Again, the photo sync is one way.
Did you fail to maintain a backup copy of your old computer?
Not good.  You can e-mail the photos from your iphone.  You do not need to have phoe service for this.  The iphone uses wi-fi.  The photos will never be of the original quality, as they are reduced when synced to iphone.

  • Can't remove photos from album? Photos are stored in their current location, iphoto

Can't remove photos from  Aperture album unless I send them to Trash? Photos are stored in their current location, iphoto

There are only a few images that I want to delete, not entire albums. I want to avoid syncing the iPad with the new computer, but it's looking like that may be my only option...to delete all of the iTunes synced photos then start from scratch since I still have the original images on my backup drive. Maybe send them to myself in email/through dropbox and save that way so in the future I can delete at will.
I just want to avoid all of that, save myself some time, so I figured I'd do as much asking as possible first.

  • Move photos between albums, move photos between albums, move photos between albums, move photos between albums

How do you move pictures between albums not juat copy?  Presently when moving  a photo a copy is left behind.

You may be able to do it as follows:
1 - assign a unique keyword to each of those files. Something like "AAAAAAAA" will stand out when you're looking for it.
2 -set the view options to View keywords only.
3 - set the sort option to sort by keyword.
4 - now look for that unique keyword, select them all and create a new roll. To see the new roll you'll have to reset rolls to be viewed.
If there are more than one keyword for those photos, the the first keyword assigned to that photo will determine where it falls in the listing of photos. So it's best if there are no keywords other than the unique one.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Deleting Photos from Album AND photo library?

I Have a few album with hundreds of photos in each, that I no longer want on my iPhone, when I open the album I have the option I delete the album but the pictures will stay in the camera roll / photo library. Is there anyway I can delete all photos within the album also?

  • Editing Photos in Albums

In iPhoto 08 when I edit a photograph in an album the changes I make a reflected back in the Events. Is there anyway to prevent this from happening. Otherwise I have to keep resetting the photos in the Events section. Thanks alot.

    andyb027
    Not without duplicating the files.
Photos in albums reference photos in the Library. It's the same pic you see, so when edited in one place it's edited in every place. If you want a separate version for an Album then you'll need to duplicate the photo first (Photos -> Duplicate)

  • Is it  possible to change the name of a photo in one album without changing the name in other albums?

I use the photos in events to create more than one album and I want to use a unique name in each album. When I change the name in one album, all instances of the photo also change.

Correct. Albums just reference the photos in an Event - it's why a pic can be in 50 albums and use no extra disk space. So, change one and you change all. The alternative is to duplicate the pic in the Event.

  • I put all my photos into album .Then proceeded to erace photos from last 18 months.. Went back to albums, and no pictures in most of the albums.. What happened?  Don't know what to do.  How can I get pictures back in my albums?

I put all my photos int albums.  Then went back to same photos in last 18 months and deleted them.  When I went back to albums, most of the pictures were gone.  What happened?  All  of my pictures gone?  I need help...

    Hi saginrsf,
Deleted them from where? The photos in your albums are not the actual photos in your library. So if you deleted the photos from the Photos section of iPhoto, then you have deleted them period. All of the photos in your Albums are just "pointing" to the original photos. Albums are just a way of organizing your photos, but they are not copies of them.
Did you delete them from the Photos in iPhoto?
