Name server address???

Hello, I am trying to host a web page on my idisk but
route it through another domain name that I have
registered... how do I do this. The person who will
be putting it together for me said I need to find
what the "name server address" is for my .mac
storage. He said there will be one or two of them.
You can't use that method for routing your domain name with .Mac. You must use what is called Domain Forwarding, where the only thing you provide is your .Mac url (http://web.mac.com/username). If the place where you have your domain name will not provide this, you will have to move it to someplace that does.

Question 1: Do you have a .Mac account?
If you do your url (web address) for your iweb site will be http://web.mac.com/your.username
It is possible for you to use url forwarding so that when people enter the address of your already existing website, they automatically get forwarded to your iweb address. However, the iweb address will show up in the address field, which means that if people want to bookmark your page, they will end up bookmarking the iWeb page as opposed to your original predefined address.

Forte Name Server Addresses

Hello everyone,
We are trying to find a way to modify the Forte name server address on our Windows 95 clients without having to go around to each workstation. Has anyone found a way to modify the port number part of the the name server address, such as using an environment variable, or adding the port number to a Name Server file, etc. We have contemplating editing the registry file in a batch mode but wondered if anyone had an easier and better solution.

If you have changed your DNS Name server for your main site it may take some time to populate.
Because you have mapped a domain, the BC site will try to use that as the default domain and because it does not yet resolve (due to TTL) to your BC site it is giving you the error.
Give it a couple of hours, sometimes up to 24 hours, and it should start working.

Bug in 15.1(3)T3 when trying to add an IPv6 name-server?

I have an 877 that I have configured with IPv4 & IPv6 (via a tunnel broker). I also VPN into this using VPDN with Windows 7 clients. I have configured the VPN for IPv6 and this is working well. Unfortunately an IPv6 name-server isn't being sent to the VPN client so I tried adding the IPv6 name servers to the 877 and it won't accept them. I think this is a bug as I can add them on a Catalyst 3560 I have running 15.0(1)SE.
cisco-877(config)#ip name-server FEC0:0:0:FFFF::1
Not a valid name-server address - 254.192.0.0
Is this a known bug and is it fixed in any other releases?

I managed to work around my issue by configuing both IPv6CP for address assignment to the client and DHCPv6 relay to supply DNS (and other) information. See the IPV6 Dial Access thread - https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2127028?tstart=0
I am not sure this is the final configuration as it appears there is the possibility DNS will find its way into IPv6CP - http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-huang-ipv6cp-options-00

Monitor time of name server ldap@domain?

our domain is 2003. fsmo roles on 2003 server. I have a san device reporting the error shown below. it looks like the time of the windows domain (computers and dcs) are in sync with the local time of the san. I had the support team for the san
manually sync the time with our domain. However, I still get these messages. I'm wondering how could I monitor this time?
Name server ldap@domain found a difference between its time (GMT: Fri Jan
2 07:48:53 2015) and local system time (GMT: Fri Jan 2 07:39:06 2015). The maximum allowed time difference is set to 300 seconds.
Name server CIFS@domain found a difference between its time (GMT: Fri Jan
2 05:35:13 2015) and local system time (GMT: Fri Jan 2 05:25:27 2015). The maximum allowed time difference is set to 300 seconds.
Name server krbtgt@domain found a difference between its time (GMT: Wed Dec 31 01:47:15 2014) and local system time (GMT: Wed Dec 31 01:38:11 2014). The maximum allowed time difference is set to 300 seconds.

I'm assuming it resyncs automatically. I read the help file on ntp sync but it doesn't say how often it resyncs.
After support manually synced the time, the error reoccurred less than 24 hours later.
Every time I check the time in the web interface and my workstation, they are the same. Hmm, I guess it could be syncing shortly before I come in. One thing i'm noticing is that these errors are not happening during business hours. The times
from day to day don't match up exactly but it seems 7p-11p would be a good time to look for errors.
I assume Mr X's explanation of time source is correct. However, I confused where they are getting these name server addresses from. I didn't enter them into the system. I don't see them in dns. I'm not 100 % sure which server the
san is contacting for this info.
I would recommend contacting your support to share the details about how your SAN time sync work and support you to solve the time sync issue on the SAN.

If it's 3.1 just change them, shouldn't cause any issues if by domain name you are referring to changing the domain the computer belongs to. If you are changing your domain for AD authentication then you will may have to take quite a few steps if the old domain is going away. Let us know.

Can i rejoin ny SCVMM 2012 server to domain with same name & IP address?

I am in situation where i have to rejoin my scvmm server to domain with same name & ip address.one of the fool admin has deleted my SCVMM's computer object from AD. I have recreated the object & tried to log on but no luck.. i have to rejoin
the server.
Does it have any risks involved or its just fine?

Hi,
First the behavior is normal. If an computer accounts is deleted, you cannot continue using the server without rejoining.
SCVMM it's not depending (integration) on active directory in such way as Exchange.
So, if the computer accounts has been deleted, there is no issue in creating a new one and rejoin the server. As long as the application on the server is able to look up any required directory services, it should be happy again.

Scan to Email Error Message "cannot connect to server. check server name and address"

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.
I've been using this printer for several months. Now am getting an ERROR message when I try to scan to email that it "cannot connect to server. check server name and address"
I'm not sure how to check this. We can all still print remotely via the internet connection.
Anyone have any ideas?

Failed to Publish: Native Error: Server name or address could not be resolved

I'm trying to publish my RoboHelp HTML project to our server
(dentiis01). I get the following error:
"Warning: Failed to publish to "dentiis01". reason:
Connection failed. Please check the connection and post again.
Native Error:The server name or address could not be
resolved."
(Note: The person who originally published the project has
left the company, so I'm not sure what options he specified).
I have tried substituting the IP address for the server. I
have also tried specifying with and without the port number (8000
in our case). I can successfully ping the server using either the
host name or IP address. I can view the current RoboHelp content
via a browser. So, it appears the engine is running properly.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

I resolved my problem. I was trying to publish from "WebHelp
(Primary Layout)" instead of "WebHelp Pro". Now the publish
operation seems to be working fine.

IWeb adds site name to my server address

Would prefer to use iWeb on our web server, but every time we publish, iWeb adds the site name to the end of the server address (ie: address is www.xyz.org and iWeb publishes to www.xyz.org/xyz ). The result is always a 404 error. Is there a way to make iWeb not add the site name onto the web address. Any help would be appreciated.

The url to a web site on a server is http://www.serveraddress.com/site_name/page_name.html. So your server address is xyz.org which makes the url http://www.xyz.org/site_name/page_name.html
You should be able to reach your site via just www.xyz.org if the site folder and it's accompanying index.html is loaded properly to the root folder on the server.
If you don't want to see the site name in the URL you need to do the following:
1 - publish the site to a folder on your hard drive.
2 - use an FTP client like Cyberduck to upload just the contents of the site folder to the root directory of your server.
This will give you http://www.xyz.org/page_name.html when you visit the site.
What's the URL of your site so we can examine it first hand?

Question Regarding Name and Address Clensing

Hello,
Can someone help me with understanding the Name and Address Cleansing operatior of OWB.
I am currently using OWB Client 9.2.0.2.8
Before using the Name and Address operator should you do any configuration for it to function? Based on the viewlet which i tried there were no configuration steps and once i finished doing the steps in the demo there were rows inserted but with *null data.
Is Trillium packaged with the OWB or should you still purchase it?

Here is my situation:
I have been tasked to integrate a 3rd party DQ ventor to the name and address cleansing operator of OWB. In relation to that I have downloaded the OracleAdaptorKit provided by Oracle for such development. The problem is I still dont really understand how the whole thing works. My understanding is that once you use the Name and Address operator in a Map and execute the it OWB will call the Name and Address Server which will trigger the Adaptor (which should be created by the vendor or me in this case) that will do the Parse() function based on the libraries of the 3rd party DQ vendor. Is my understanding correct?
My second question is on how will the Name and Address Engine call the Adaptor(JAVA applet?) which will use the Parse() function and what are the values that Name and Address Engine throw to the Adaptor? And how will you know if you have successfully created a connection between the Name and Address Engine and the Adaptor you created?
My third question is in regards to the components to be created. So given that the Name and Address Engine is by default installed with OWB does that mean that the only thing left to program are the Adaptor and Libraries?

I am trying to add my Zimbra email to apple mail in Lion. No matter what I try i am either not able to connect to the server. I have the correct username, password, server address, act. But still no luck..Anyone got any suggestions? Im stumped

Have a Zimbra server at work for my work emails which I also use to recieve my emails on my Iphone. I have been trying to set up for email for our Zimbra server at work on my new Mac Mini's mail. I have server address, User Name, Password, and have tried all the various ways to set it up. On my Iphone 4 it is set up in the mail config as an exchange. I tried to copy the settings my iphone uses and imput them into the mail setup. Every time I have tried POP, IMAP, Exchange I get a message that it cannot connect to the server and I should check my connection to the internet. I kinda had a similar problem setting it up on my Iphone initially. I am starting to think that Apple is lacking when it comes to its native mail app. It has no problem registering my google email but for some unknown reason it wont take my work email through exchange. Really Scratching my head, any ideas?? Thanks again for taking the time to read.

I have yet to find an email server that does not work with Mail.app. Your solution will be to configure its ports and send/receive protocol according to the email server's requirements.
Try the Zimbra support forums. I found this excerpt from a relevant post:

Data Quality , Name and address

I would like to know if someone has used Name and address functinality in OWB. I would like to clean our data and possibly link two or more record with one record and also would like to standardise the addresses such as Parkway to Pkwa, st. to street etc. Is this all possible in OWB? Could I use Name and address server to do all these?
While reading a FAQ on http://otn.oracle.com/products/warehouse/htdocs/ORACLE92_WAREHOUSE_BUILDER_DQ_FAQ.htm , it seems to me that I need to buy some kind of data qulaity software from third party, am I right?

Many OWB customers are using OWB's Name and Address, and Match-Merge capabilities to perform the tasks you described.
You are right, as the Data Quality FAQ states, Name and Address, while modelled in OWB at design time, requires third-party software at the run-time. That software is licensed separately (directly with third-party vendors, previously Oracle re-sold the third-party technology as an extra option to OWB). However, Match-Merge does not rely on any third-party technology.

I can not logout and login from our Apple ITUNES site because Apple has the wrong server address. Originally I signed up with www.belmont.edu but the actual ITUNES server is itunes.belmont.edu
also, if I leave open the client and select on a course the links are bad...point to the old server.

Looks like IIS can do redirects. Perhaps you can have your web support team do a redirect to the Apple supplied url.
