Name (URL) Change - Automatic Re-direct?

If I change the name/URL of a product, catalog, webapp, etc, I get a 404 on the old URL and it gets picked up by google, not to mention issues for people who have bookmarked.
At the moment I have to set a 301 manually.
Is there a way to have the back-end of BC automatically manage re-directing old URLs?

Nope
Because you need to manage it. You may want to redirect it you may want to kill it and deny or remove from search engines etc.

Opendocument url changes automatically on different machines

I have one url of a Document

when i open this url on the same server, it asks for credentails, after passing the same, the page show could not find the document and page 404 missing
When i open the same document on different server the URL changes automatically to
http://server:8080/BOE/OpenDocument/1403251017/OpenDocument/opendoc/logonVintela.do?appKind=OpenDocument&iDocID=sample&sIDType=CUID&isApplication=true&appKind=OpenDocument&appCUID=AZXgyG8_ue9OtYITUhGG.wg
the file gets downloaded.
Does anybody know the solution?

In one machine without asking anything is runs and downloads the document (url changes automatically in this machine, second link)
this is because
The URL we are using to access the launch pad
if we are using http://xyz:8080/BOE/BI
the our URL for open doc should be http://xyz:8080/OpenDocument/opendoc/logonVintela.do?appKind=OpenDocument&iDocID=sample&sIDType=CUID&isApplication=true&appKind=OpenDocument&appCUID=AZXgyG8_ue9OtYITUhGG.wg
then it will not ask for anything it will take from the existing session.
or we are accessing the launch pad with the http://111.1115.556:8080/BOE/BI
and passing the above URL
http://xyz:8080/OpenDocument/opendoc/logonVintela.do?appKind=OpenDocument&iDocID=sample&sIDType=CUID&isApplication=true&appKind=OpenDocument&appCUID=AZXgyG8_ue9OtYITUhGG.wg
then it will as for a user name and password

URL changes automatically

While using firefox, my all url/links change to single url 'desidime.com' e.g. I click on www.moneycontrol.com\portfolio, it automatically changed to 'www.desidime.com\portfolio'. Any idea how to resolve this?
A temp solution that I have found is delete all cache and it works for some time and the problem reoccurs.

Do a malware check with some malware scan programs. You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.

My iMac's computer name keeps changing automatically after Yosemite upgrade

This started happening once I upgraded my iMac to Yosemite. It will add numbers to the name of my iMac.
Example: It starts off as say "My iMac"
Then a half day later, it changes to "My iMac (2)"
Then the next day it will be "My iMac (3)"
And if I open the Finder window, it will show "My iMac" and "My iMac (2)" under "Shared" but if you click on them, nothing happens.
When I go to System Preferences > Sharing the computer name will have the number there "My iMac (3)" and say it can be found as MyiMac-3.local
If I change it back to just "My iMac", the number process starts all over again. I even tried naming the iMac something it was never named before and the same process occurs with the adding of the numbers.
Anyone know how I can fix this?

Have had the same issue with an iMac and MacBook Pro, both with Yosemite (MacBook upgraded from the Yosemite public beta). Both previously had Mavericks, and at one time or another would have had both Ethernet cable and Wifi on. This issue has only occurred since the upgrade to Yosemite. I do not use iCloud, so I believe that may be irrelevant and merely coincidental.
The solution provided by an Apple Care rep seems to have resolved the issue. Has stuck now on both machines for the last few hours. Time will tell for certain, but here's what we did:
- in System Preferences > Sharing, remove the (2) [or whatever is extra; mine was iMac (2), so I removed the (2)
- exit Preferences
- shutdown
- restart machine in Recovery mode (machine off, press and hold Command + R, power on, when Apple logo appears release keys)
- may take a few minutes to boot (depends on machine generation/speed, RAM and such)
- open Disk Utility
- select the OS disk (mine was Macintosh HD; selected the 'indented' item)
- run Verify Disk Permissions
- when finished run Repair Disk Permissions
- restart
On the MacBook I tried turning on Wifi and so far so good.
Banish the deux!

DNS url changes to with server name URL

We have created dns url for our sharepoint site, but users click on some links urls get changed to with server name URL
Like http:\\server1:81\main\
and i have created new subsite and all the pages comeu p with server name url instead on DNS URL
Can someone help me with this?

Make sure the new DNS URL is in the Default Zone for AAMs. Also make sure none of your content is using hard-coded paths, instead using relative paths.

Safari is shorting the url-addres automatically

The problem is that Safari is shorting the URL address automatically. When I type (just example) test.here.fi/password (this site need user name and password) the pop up window shows up and ask the username and password BUT for the page test.here.fi. So the Safari is lefting out /password and this is rest of the address is needed. So what to do?

[SOLVED] Network interface name keeps changing

My network interface name keeps changing between wlp2s0 and wlan0. This is a real pain, since I never know what name will be generated at boot. Most of the time it's called wlp2s0, so this is what netctl is set up to handle by itself. At boots were wlan0 is generated I have to connect manually.
I've tried making the name static by adding a rule to the /etc/udev/rules.d/10-network.rules. The rule i added was:
SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", ATTR{address}=="48:5d:60:7e:64:e9", NAME="wlp2s0"
Wlp2s0 is generated at boot alright, but I still have to connect manually with this solution. As if the "new" wlp2s0 is not recognized as the old one (same MAC). What gives?
This is on an Asus Eee 1001PXD, with the Qualcomm Atheros AR9285.

I've now been able to replicate the issue, and run the command:
journalctl -b
I did find the output:

I haven't been able to process the whole output yet (I'll continue tomorrow if necessary), but I've found some things that I hope will clearify things. I get similar outputs to the following a lot throughout:

mai 18 02:30:03 <hostname> dhcpcd[237]: wlan0: waiting for carrier

I see now that this is later in time, so that's not so strange after all. I'll look some more.
EDIT2:
The error code that a name change i impossible is the first time the term 'wlan0' occurs in the log. However there's a line much earlier that talks about wlp2s0:
mai 18 02:29:59 <hostname> systemd[1]: Expecting device sys-subsystem-net-devices-wlp2s0.device...
But as I said, if this information doesn't help, I'll have a closer look at the output tomorrow. Getting late here in Norway now.

I'm sorry to be so vague. I have recently found out that what I want
to do is put my images in a javascript image rotator. I have looked
this up on google and have now tried about 6 different codes. I try to
follow the insert directions but I must be doing something wrong. I
get the first photo linked up but can never make the picture change to
show the other two photos in the image folder.
Can you direct me as to how this works in dw?

Alex, in the normal case you have reason the client host is the gateway host.

I put a jsp in the web container, I contact the jsp trough an url
http://www.mydomain/portal/desktop/redirect.jsp without the method get for the url variable, if I call the jsp directly without gateway from my client the gateway variable is my dns hostname and the jsp cannot redirect my in the portal login page
If I take the localhost, it works fine but if a particular case when the gateway and the platform are the same host.
There is not a HTTP enviroment variable to get the gateway name or a simple java method to ask the correct host?

Command to Open "Computer Name/Domain Changes" window

Running the commands SystemPropertiesComputerName or "sysdm.cpl" in command line will open the System Properties window. I still have to click on the "Change" button to
get to the Computer Name/Domain Changes window. Is there a command to get to the
Computer Name/Domain Changes window directly? I have been searching the internet for several days. I've also tried using SendKeys (batch file, VBScript, and in PowerShell) and to send two TABS
and an ENTER key but I can't get it to work. The command doesn't seem to work on the
System Properties window.

Interesting sort issue: URL changes but does not refresh

Thanks everyone for you help on my sort problem! There is still one tiny issue remaining.
When I hit the SORT button, nothing happens except the URL changes from http://localhost/jserv/Invoice3.jsp to http://localhost/jserv/Invoice3.jsp?valueCheckbox=3&valueCheckbox=4&order=ID&sort=DESC
The ID's of the records and the sort order are being added to the URL, but the sort is not being performed.

The sort problem is solved: Mission accomplished!
The single quotes and percentage marks in the SQL logic were causing the problem! The sort works great now. Now I just need to program memory into the list boxes so they remember their last setting, but I know how I will do that.

Have the web service API URLs changed?

I'm currently in the beginning stages of working with the iTunes U Web Service API, and I'm running into an issue.
Step 2 of uploading a web services document (pg 50 of the admin guide) says to request an upload URL. The base URL for this request:
https://deimos.apple.com/WebObjects/Core.woa/API/GetUploadURL
doesn't seem to be valid. I am receiving 404 errors:

I've tried added the identifier path but still no luck. Just to be clear, I am generating and sending a proper authorization token; the issue is that the destination URL seems to be invalid.

A couple of things ...
First is that you want to read page 54 of latest admin guide.
Nextly, the basic way to access the API hasn't changed ... Apple has changed the XSD and the specifics of the API itself ... but not the way you call it. That's been pretty steady since I've been messing with it.
The base URL should look like this:
https://deimos.apple.com/WebObjects/Core.woa/API/GetUploadURL/your-university.ed u.111.222.333
"111.222.333" is called a "handle" and it uniquely specifies a resource (track, cover image, etc.) within iTunes U. "111.222" is a path to the resource "333".
After the base URL, you have to add the same kind of token string that you would for "Browsing" iTunes U ... that is a string in the form ...
credentials=foo&identity=user&time=123456&signature =abc123abc&type=XMLControlFile
A question mark "?" separates the base URL from the token string. Whatever you do, do -not- forget the type=XMLControlFile! The manual does not emphasize that you need to add this token, but you must to use the API.

I had to change apple id....how come icloud didn't change automatically?

Hello....looking for some help....I had to change my apple ID due to an email address being closed. So changed, not a problem...but I had forgotten about iCloud, and just assumed it would change automatically to my new apple ID, but it hasn't. And when I try to log in I unfortunately have forgotten that password, so I can't get a reset sent to that email address as it no longer exists. And if I choose another way apparently I have forgotten when my birthday is too (lol). And when on iCloud on my phone I can't change my apple ID....how can I fix this??

If the old ID is yours, and if it is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Address book names being changed by mail program

Example: I make a card in my address book for Jane with no last name at all ( I like it that way)and it syncs to my iPhone, MobileMe, computer, etc just fine and remains that way regardless if I get a call or text from this person but if they send me an email, the name field changes and it automatically adds the last name. How do I prevent this? I don't want last names.

URL changes on PostBack

I have JSF page that loads from a popup. This PopUp attaches two parameters that the page load event uses to display the appropriate data.
ex.
/transactionDelete.jsp?trax=00001
There is also a delete button on the page. When delete is hit actions are performed to delete the data. When the page posts back the parameters on the URL are not written out and this causes problems.
I've found some ways to hack around this, but I would like the postback to be the original URL with the parameters.
