Has anyone had this problem before? I am starting to find a lot of problems with Captivate 7 : /

Noel,
There are two sides to this issue.
On the one hand I agree with you that it would be great if Adobe made Captivate's preferences more bullet-proof and incorruptible. I too don't like continually telling people to kill the preference folder to fix issues. But it works, and I'm definitely FOR anything tha solves an issue quickly.
On the other hand, I suspect that making Preferences unable to be corrupted would require adding a lot of extra checks and balances into the software, thereby adding a lot of extra overhead that would significantly slow down save actions and general functionality.
I suspect Adobe have done the sums on which of these two options is better overall and they've gone with a faster and more nimble preference architecture, rather than something that would slow down an already slowish app.

I need help...
first of all, apologise me for my english...
my principal problem is to create graphics with a legend that can be interactive with the line of the graphic... is there a function about this?
The only thing I've found to solve my problem is to create many switches buttons and put them over the legend's label, but, when I try to export to PPT this objects are not aligned with the legend's text so the result is not useful and with a bad look...
I've tried to use ceck boxes located near to the legend baut happens the same problem.
If I export in html it works properly... but I net the power point..

thanks again for the new suggestion!!
in effect this could solve my problem cause the trasparency doesn't let to see if the new icon I put over the legend's icon is not perfectly aligned!
in Italy we say : "It was the Coloumb's egg!" .. it means that if I'd thought enough, may be I'd have solved the problem by myself...

excel file inside the project has 837 cells to be used for my graph (13 item in Coloumn x 65 item in Rows)
this because we need to create a graphic to be able to show a trend of about 2 years, which increase (filling the empty cells) every month...
so many informations, so many objects (icon, etc) tell me, is too much isn't it?
because when I've exported the file in ppt, every time it takes 1 minute only to open that chart...
is possible not to include the excel? could be a solution to take the information from an sql DB ?

Multiple HTML objects not aligning

In the footer of my muse site, I have two HTML objects that should appear side-by-side. One is a live feed from a ratings website, the other is a Facebook like box. Both are pulling approved code, both appear great in Muse, Muse has previously published it live correctly, but since yesterday will not. The Facebook like box keeps appearing far off to the right side even though it's well within the margin in Muse. If I choose to publish with either HTML individually, they publish in the exact location I want them. As soon as I publish with both, the Facebook box scoots back over to the left.
I've read in other forums, that problematic movements can be helped by grouping the objects so they're placed in a wrapper together upon publishing. This has yet to help my issue either. This is a live site and needs to be corrected.

Hi,
This kind of issue usually happens if the rectangle of the object is bigger than the size of the object. It pushes the adjacent object, resulting in misalignment. Please check and make sure the objects' rectangle is not bigger than actual object.

Select-options and button not aligned on same line

Hi,
My goal is to show selection screen with One Select-option & a search button
For this I have created a GROUP inside ROOTUIELEMENTCONTAINER
Following are the settings
ROOTUIELEMENTCONTAINER ( Layout -Matrix layout)
GROUP ( Layout -Matrixlayout , Layout Data : MatrixHeadData)
ViewContainer with select options: (layout -MatrixHeadData)
Button:(Layout - MatrixData)
In SE80/view/layout Select-options & Button are aligned on same straight line
but in output view button has been moved upwards I mean they are not in line.
What else do i need to look?

Please explain your problem in a better way becaiuse I am getting little confused here. Is the search button coming in next row?? Or the select-option and search button are coming in same row but their alignment is different?? If they are coming in different row, then set the width of your view which contains your search button. Just go that view and set the WIDTH and HEIGHT (say 100px) of the ROOTUIELEMENTCONTAINER. Set the layout of your main view (which contains all the view containers) as matrix layout.
Please explain.

You can't use File > Open File to process server side includes. That will only work if you use File > Open Location and if there is a server that can process the file. If you use File > open File then you open that file directly in Firefox (bypassing a server) and only the HTML code will be processed and not SSI code.

The printed material on my Bank Atlantic site has shifted up and does not allow me to enter. I can go in to bank atlantic from I.E. Does anyone have a solution??

If you can go to the Bank Atlantic site, you can see the printing on the left side that gives bank information, and the 2 boxes for sign in and password. The printing in this area for some reason or other has shifted upwards and is not aligned with the page. As a result I cannot enter my name or password.

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a high value can cause such issues.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.

Object name, segment advisor and db sequential read

oracle 10.2.0.4:
I am looking at our ADDM and AWR report. It's complaining about db file sequential read waits and also "Segment Advisor" on LOB SYS_LOB.... I have couple of questions:
1. When select is fired (from JDBC/hibernate) with the column that is of type BLOB does the blob gets extracted at that point or just the reference is returned to the BLOB. And only when that column is accessed then the blob is fetched. Or does it get fetched right away in the "Select statemement"?
2. I see Sedgment Advisor on object name LOB SYS_LOB000000012511C000006$$. How do I know which column/table it's referring to.
3. db file sequential read waits means that something is wrong with disk layout?
4. Even though our IO is not that high ADDM keeps complaining about increasing SGA to 64G. Currently as it is 32G and it's huge. Could it be because of above reasons that it thinks that it needs larger SGA?

We are expecting a very high load in coming days. So I was looking at the system to check if somethings needs to be improved beforehand. I see things like 'User I/O waiting on Hot Objects", "db file sequential read waits". I read about it but I am not sure how to really see if it's going to be a problem or if it's a problem. We have indexes but one of the queries selects blob and is not always used so I was wondering if db file sequential read is being caused by that. I am not sure why we would have waiting on Hot objects because currently our system in not very busy. Hot object is a LOB and it's partitioned. It says database object with id XXXX, 0 full object scansm 25336 physical and direct reds. I know the table by looking up in DBA_LOBS.

BI Platform: Parameter object with the name "URL_PARAM"... does not exist

I'm facing this issue with only one dashboard in BI4 Platform. When trying to view it through the BI Launch Pad, I get the following error:
"Parameter object with the name "URL_PARAM" and the index "0" still does not exist in the parameter 1[...]".
I've seen this thread where a similar thing was reported with NetWeaver platform.
My client as well as server versions are Release 1.4 SP0 Patch2 (14.0.5).
Also, although some of the pictures referenced in the dashboard are not in the Public Folders on BI4. Could it be that it's not able to reference the images and hence not be displaying the whole dashboard?
Please let me know if anyone has a solution to this.

So here are the versions we currently have:
SAP BO Design Studio (64 bit) - 14.1.0
SAP BO Design Studio 1.4 for BI Platform - 14.1.0.349
And on checking on Central Management Console, I get this:
SAP BO BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 5 Patch 2
Version: 14.1.5.1568
Also, I'm not sure if I installed an add-on or the patch. Based on these versions, could you tell me how to fix the issue ?

I am getting the NameNotFoundException: Object not found in lookup exception, when accessing the DataSource using the alias name EMPLOYEE_DS from JspDynpage.
Here is the code for lookup

The same application is running using the above alias name in our development environment, but the same is not working in production system.

As I said, My application is working in both Development and Quality system with the lookup
DataSource ds = (DataSource) context.lookup("jdbc/MYDB")
but the problem is in only Production system, I believe there might be some configuration missed.
As you said I have tried with
DataSource ds = (DataSource) context.lookup("java:comp/env/jdbc/MYDB")
with the abvoe lookup my application stopped working and getting the below exception and throws the below exception
com.sap.engine.services.jndi.persistent.exceptions.NameNotFoundException: Path to object does not exist at java:comp, the whole lookup name is java:comp/env/jdbc/REPORTING_DASHBOARD.
I believe my lookup is working without any issues, because it is working in dev and quality systems, problem might be in configuration. I have done the alias creation through nwa, following
http://<server:port>/nwa>Configuration>Application Resources-->JDBC Datasource Alias
Any more suggestions regarding this.

Shared Object - Not retrieving and or saving correctly.

I've got big trouble this time using a SharedObject - a weird thing is - the same code / way of doing it - like saving and retrieving data from a SharedObject worked flawlessly in CS3.
What I try to archive:
Putting a byte array (screenshot data) in an array (images) and save this one in a SharedObject (data_vault).
I can see from the size of the SharedObject that something is saved to it - but - everytime I try to load I get errors.
From what I see when using "trace (images.length)" - the array has the length of X (=screenhots) - but when using the loadscreenshots() function, I just get error #1009 ("attribute of a null object is not possible") back and I cant read out the saved data.
This problem also occurs with numbers and other saved data like coordinates (Array like [ [x1, y1], [x2, y2] ]).
As I said, in an earlier version of Flash Player / CS3 with Actionscript 3 this code worked as it was.
I was even able to load Screenshots from the SharedObject which had been made at another computer.
Here what my code is looking like:
Frame 1:

No, I have allowed unlimited diskspace usage by using the settings.sol (Sys and Local).
Those files permit it.
Also I see that the data becomes saved, but when I restart the flash file or switch back to the frame, where the loading function becomes executed even when the active session has not been ended, nothing becomes loaded and the error #1009 is raised.
With the same code, even with activated compression (compress/uncompress routine of the ByteArray Class) the data became perfectly loaded and the screenshots displayed almost instantly without any trouble using CS3 with Flash Player 9.
Just to mention, I recreated the SharedObject and Im not trying to use the one created in CS3, Flash Player 9.
Any more ideas? - This problem drives me crazy

I am trying to fetch Long text for a given order number from transaction CO04 in SAPScript. I know that I have to use Include X (OBJECT) XX ID XXX.
How do I get the text name, text object and text id for the order header long text from Transaction CO04.

When you are in CO02, and are at the Long Text Tab,click on the Icon that is next to the Order Number at the top of the screen (this icon looks like a Pencil and a Pad of Paper and is called "Change Long Text"). When you click on this it will take you to the SAPscript Editor. Now hit Goto->Header and you will get the data you require.

XMP property for a page object not predefined and no extension schema...

In attempting to make PDF/A-1b files, I get the Preflight error "XMP property for a page object not predefined and no extension schema present."
Every page reports the same Trigger values:
=> Property exists in predefined schema (XMP 2004): is not true
=> Extension schema is present in XMP: is not true
By following the suggestions in the Acrobat 9 Help page "Edit document metadata" I can save existing metadata to an external .xmp file, but I cannot change the XMP metadata to solve the Preflight error.
I would be grateful for suggestions re how to solve the Preflight error.

1) papiersource on base of pageformat PDF
2) If needed use adjusted paperformat
