Names on Keynote themes

When you open the theme chooser in Keynote the themes there all have their names listed below them and on the sample slide. I have made a couple of custom slides, but when they show up in the chooser the name only appears below them. Is there a way to have the name of a custom theme show up on the sample slide?

If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application uninstaller. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

  • How do I get my iWork'09 3rd party Keynote themes into Keynote 6.0?

    1.  I had iWork '09 installed on my computer from the old installation disk.  It was not clear at the keynote that I would receive the updates for free as I already owned them.  I was expecting to see the updates when I opened up the App Store, but they were not there which gave the impression that I was SOL since I didn't purchase them through the App Store.  I even received the message "[App name] is already installed, purchase anyway?", but that message is cryptic and not clear that I was going to receive the update, so I wound up purchasing the iWork apps again, just to wake up this morning to find out that I should have received them for free.  I am truly hoping for a refund, because at $20 each, that's a big difference between that and free.
    2.  I opened up keynote to play with the new features, but because the internal architecture is different, it no long references my old themes folder in Library > Application Support > iWork > Keynote.  I have tried copying the files to other permutations of possible reference folders in the global and user libraries, but have had no success.  These 3rd party themes were not cheap either.  I'm sure there is a way to get them to show up in the Keynote Theme Selector, but I haven't stumbled on it yet.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for the link to the troubleshooting tips!  It contained the correct answer which is:
"If your documents or changes still don’t appear, try creating a new document on your iOS device, and then check again for existing documents from iCloud to appear".
I created a test document in Pages and when I returned to my documents all the documents from iCloud reappeared.

  • Question about keynote theme

Can someone tell me what is the name of this theme in this Keynote 08 review of Macworld (http://www.macworld.com/article/132979/2008/04/office_presentation.html)? I've seen it recently in a presentation and it's spectacular. Is this an older theme that didn't make it in Keynote 08? Is there a way to find it? Thanks!

hi, the theme you're looking for is in Keynote 08, it's the Industrial theme.

  • Is it possible to embed fonts in Keynote theme?

I've created custom theme for Keynote'08 and everything works fine.
    My theme uses corporate fonts.
At the moment the theme is distributed with additional font pack and the user have to install both, but I'd like to simplify the theme installation process.
Is it possible to embed fonts in Keynote theme?

Got it, and it make sense...
I was thinking about something like adding fonts to theme-files folder,
but well, I can live without this "feature".
    Thx Your for the answer.

  • How does one add a chart to a Keynote theme

I have been studying how to create Keynote themes. I have been able to learn how to do a lot but I have not been able to figure out how to add a chart to a master slide.
I am not sure if this is possible.
I have found a chart in a deck I have and would like to add it to a slide master. I see some of the commercial themes have charts as part of the theme master slide set.
I cannot figure out how to add this chart as an "object" on a master so I do not have to go through the steps each time I want to use the formating attributes.
Related: on the Inspector Menu for Master Slides there is a check box for Object Placeholder. What is that for?
    Rob

Maybe it needs to be in Applications?

  • How do I import and use the Keynote themes that I've downloaded?

I'm sure this is a stupid question, but I searched this forum & didn't immediately find the answer I needed. I've downloaded some Keynote themes (they have a .kth extension). How do I import these into Keynote 08 so that Keynote will recognize and use the themes?
    Thanks!

Put the .kth in "Themes" folder under the route Home > Library > Application Support > iWork > Keynote > Themes - it will then appear (at the bottom) in the theme chooser when opening keynote.

  • Where is the color palette for the chosen Keynote theme?

Each Keynote theme has its own look and its own colors, right? And if you create a bar chart, all the colors of the different bars will nicely match the chosen theme.
So, shouldn't these few theme-compatible colors be listed somewhere in the color chooser? If I want to draw something using a few objects (or if I want to highlight some text using color), I want to choose from exactly those few theme-compatible colors.
Is that possible? I'm really confused as to why such a list of colors is not readily available as a palette in the color chooser?! Or is it, somewhere? I don't want to choose some ugly color that doesn't match the theme!
    Thanks!
    Markus

I demonstrate some of iWork's great color capabilities in my EmpowerCast series here:

Have a look and drop me a line. I just posted Episode 7!

  • What is the name of the theme song from Sleeper Cell American Terror

Believe me if anybody out there knows the answer to this one, you would be a genius. I have looked on Itunes, I have even gone to the sleeper cell message boards. No one responded. I don't know how many of you have seen the second season of Sleeper Cell but it opens with a theme song that has a pulsating belly dancing kind of song. It doesn't last long but I went to itunes and put in Sleeper Cell but as I listened to each sample, the song is not there.
Does ANYONE out there know the name of the Theme song that is the first thing that opens the show?
Thank you so much if anyone knows. I just want to put it on my ipod? and dance my head off.

Hi. I do thank you very much but the theme song is not on this soundtrack.
The song I'm referring to is played immediately as the first episode is introduced. It doesn't play for long but it's so cool, I must have it for my ipod.
You would think there would be someplace on the internet that has it listed as THEME SONG FOR SLEEPER CELL AMERICAN TERROR. I've listened to all the tracks and haven't identified it yet.
    I'm stumped.
Maybe you have more experience than I have. I even wrote to Paul Haslinger and asked him for the name of this theme and how I could download it.
I'm so dumb some times. I know all about itunes and finding stuff and this is one darn song that I can't find.
    Oh dear.
    thanks anyway,
    Melody

  • Submitting keynote themes to app store

Hello everyone! I am designing some keynote themes which
i would like to submit to the App Store. The thing is that i dont
have experience with Xcode at all. In order to submit the themes
i guess i should submit a .dmg to install the .kth files to the library?
    And not just the files?
    Thanks for your help!

You can sell single-.folio applications through the Apple App Store with every edition of DPS. To sell subscriptions you need to have at least Professional Edition. Compare editions

  • How do I Delete Downloaded Keynote Themes?

I've downloaded some keynote themes (from Jumsoft I believe) and I dislike them and don't think I'll ever use them, and I'd like to delete them from my computer and remove them from my keynote themes list.
I've been to /Library/Application Support/iWork/Keynote/Themes but they are not there.
    How do I remove them?
    Thanks!
    Message was edited by: BlueDaisies

It is possible they have been installed by Jumsoft's installer into the Keynote application package.
Locate your Keynote app, +right mouse click on the app icon > Show Package Contents+ and you will be inside the package.
    Look in:
    +Keynote / Contents / Resources / Themes+

  • School photo with 25 kids and I have been able to name 17 on them - but the remaining 8 faces I am unable to name. I go through the process (done it thousand of times) and type in the name and it sticks, I close the photo and reopen I

I have a photo with 25 faces.  I have named 17 with no problem but the remaining 8 names I am unable to make them stick.  I go through the process (have done it thousands of times) and no luck.  I have shut down the computer, I have unplugged it, I have turned iPhoto off and nothing will allow me to name these remaining photos.  I type in the name and click RETURN and the name holds, I close the photo and bring it back and the name is gone. I have done this dozen of times - still no luck.  I have a few other photos of groups and the same thing is happening with just a few of the faces.  All the faces are clear, same size and no different in clarity than the other faces.  I have tried changing the size of the "box" around the photo to name it - still no luck.
I am on the ground floor so I can not throw the computer out the window.

Im wondering why my post hasn't been answered yet.  I did file a report with the BBB and I had a rude representative from Verizon call me named Steve. He said I can file all of the reports I want and I will just keep getting calls from him.  I can understand why my phone couldn't be replaced because of the small crack.  I guess I have to eat that one (but it sucks because the lollipop update is what caused the problems)  but what about all of the data overage I had to pay for for trying to fix this phone because of a lollipop update.  I dont think it is fair to have to pay that as well. In addition,  because I have an east coast phone number but live on the west coast, I cannot have tech support after 8pm.  Verizon has cut this off.  Im very dissatisfied and I have been a customer of Verizon for 13 years.  Im hoping for a response this time.

  • HT2305 Since updating my laptop from Windows Vista to Windows 7, my Ipod Shuffle, 3rd generation does not recognize last 3 playlist names; it calls them out as "playlist 3, playlist 4 -- even though in the panel the names are showing just fine. The music

I have recently updated my laptop from Windows Vista to Windows 7. I have just added three new playlists to my Ipod Shuffle, 3rd generation. On the panel in ITunes in view on the computer, all looks fine and music plays. However, after syncing a million times, when clicking to "hear" the playlists, the voice will call out all the old playlists just fine - except for the 3 new ones I've added; it calls them out as "playlist 3, playlist 8, or "purchased". All software for the ITunes has been updated as of the moment. Why would switching from Vista to Windows 7 cause this frustrating issue? All help appreciated.

From page 23 of your iPod's User Guide: http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iPod_shuffle_3rdGen_UG.pdf
If VoiceOver is disabled in iTunes, you hear an abbreviated menu of playlists in numbered order, but not by name (for example, “Playlist 1, Playlist 2,” and so on).
So you'll want to make sure VoiceOver is enabled to correct this.

  • How to arrange contacts in my Addess Book starting with the last name, re-doing them all at once, not individually. (I have 910 names in my Address Book).

This is a new computer. I see that my addresses have been arranged so that they read from the first name -- i.e. Jimmy Brown comes under 'J', not 'B'. I should like to put them all so that they read from the last name, first. I can do this individually but very much hope that there is a way that I can do ALL of them in ONE go? There are 910 addresses! Thank you very much, Frederica

First step is to set the address book to show last name and then the first.
    Open the Address Book
    Select View-Show Name As-Last, First
Then click on the column header labeled NAME to sort on that column.
