Naming bug?

Has anyone had a problem with the new feature where logic automatically puts the patch name as the tracks name? This is a cool feature, but the problem is it that it does not let you rename the track. So if your exs patch is sawtooth 202354as, or whatever, your stuck with that name. Id prefer to at least have the option to name the track whatever I want. Any solutions to this? thanks,
Dan

Thanks for your reply Justin. I know how to name "audio objects" I've done it many times... but now with this new feature, where logic does it automatically, it does not seem to work properly. When I type in the name I want to be displayed, it does not change in the arrange window, as it used to, and should still. Anyway thx for your response.

  • 5.4 Adjustment brus bug + File export naming bug

There appear to be two bugs in 5.4
    1. I just finished editing an intense adjustment brush edit. I went to tweek it when I opened the brush there are no pins to activate even though the edits are there.
    2. Export file naming not working correctly. I always use export "Title plus file number" or "Custom name - original file number" Neither of these exports include the file number.
    3. Did 5.4 change somthing in the configuration settings. If not, is there a way to restore 5.3 until these bugs are fixed.
    Jim

Regarding item 1, the pins can be visible or not visible or conditionally visible.  The option to do this is at the lower left of the tool-options bar available when you press the T key to toggle it on and off.  If you feel your pin-visibility options are set properly, please show a print-screen with the pins not there and the pin-visibility options set to Always.
Not sure about item 2 as I don’t use it.

  • Edit Naming Bug

Just tried to edit a file name after editing in PS.
God it's painful to do, even after you work out how on earth to do something that is normally so trivially easy.
LR imports and displays a file called say
    "2007-03-15 Betty 004 Provia+Lomo-ed.psd"
no problem, yet when I try to edit it to read
    "2007-03-15 Betty 004 Provia + Lomo-ed.psd",
    LR changes it to
    "2007-03-15 Betty 004 Provia @ Lomo-ed a [email protected]",
Edit name again and I get
    "2007-03-15 Betty 004 Provia @ Lomo-ed a bit@[email protected]"
where the @ symbol is actually a crossed out box in LR. ??????!!!!
Now after a bit of playing around, I discover that if you edit an name, LR adds extention automatically, even if it's aready there. Duh! So, if you edit a filename to correct a typo you also have to remember to delete the extension as LR adds it automatically. Not only that, undo doesn't correct the extention bug even though it corrects the name edit.
I assume it was thought by the designers, if you are going to edit a name, you replace all the name and do not have to worry about the extention. Obviously, nobody ever changed their mind or spotted a typo when designing this feature. Bridge allows single file reanming/editing simply and elegently. LR + Bridge are made by the same company aren't they?
Yet again LR takes a normally very simple thing, overcomplicates and breaks it and not only that, does it differently from other Adobe apps which weren't broken.
Plus - why can't I have a '+' sign in my file names or a ',' for that matter, they've worked until now with no problems. Are vowels going to be forbidden next?

  • More than 1000 photos - iPhone naming bug???

I have more than 1000 pictures on my iPhone. When I tried to import them onto my Mac using iPhoto I realised that for some reason iPhone names the pictures incorrectly.
Instead of going from 0999 to 1000 Phone goes from 0999 back to 0000. It appends the file name with "_2".
    Is this a bug?
I keep all my iPhone pictures organised in a separate folder rather than use iPhoto.
This means that I have to rename all the new photos above 0999. Very annoying.

It doesn't make sense to provide 4 digits and then jump back to zero after using up three of them.
I don't see the problem in keeping 1000+ photos on the iPhone - however, I do back them up very regularly.

  • Export file naming bug

If the version name of an image is empty and you export that image and select Name Format as 'current version name', Aperture will do the export and the resultant file created has only the filetype extension as is name. The finder under normal conditions will not show the file because it appears as a hidden file.

  • OfflineRT Media Naming bug

We've had a real problem since upgrading from FCP4 where Media Manager now names files differently- For example, If we use media manager to make an offlineRT version of a project, it renames files IF THEY HAVE A period (".") in the file name. For example "myclip.004" becomes "myclip.004.004" whereas "myclip004" would simply be "myclip004" This is very irritating because it means that projects do not link back correctly.
Can anyone offer any hints os to how to get FCP to stop doing this!
    Thanks-
    Adam

You can drop Apple a line using the Feedback link at the top of the main page of the FCP forum.
Otherwise, just use an underscore "_" instead of a period "." You get the same effect with no problems.
    cheers,

  • CS4 Bin Naming Bug

When creating a new bin you cannot see what you are typing until you hit enter. Strange...

You have to initiate the rename process to be able to see what you're typing. I'm amazed that you even get to rename the clip when you press enter. In other words, creating the bin does not leave the bin name in "edit mode", you have to
    put it in edit mode.
    Cheers

  • Createjs Toolkit naming bug

    Hi,
I have a whole load of images with '_' in their name. Toolkit doesnt seem to like this. The Bitmaps instances have the correct name e.g.
    (lib.my_really_long_name_with_underscores = function() { this.initialize(img.my_really_long_name_with_underscores); }).prototype = p = new cjs.Bitmap(); p.nominalBounds = new cjs.Rectangle(0,0,217,262);
But the parent movieclip references this instance without the 'underscores': e.g:
    this.instance_1 = new lib.myreallylongnamewithunderscores();
Seems like its stripping them when it shouldn't. It wouldn't be a problem if i didn't have a need for really long descriptive file names...
Is there any way I could edit the JSFLs in toolkit as I'm sure i could be fixed quite simply.
    Thanks.

rename the toolkit mxp file extension in zip and take a look inside.

  • Folder naming bug

Two days ago I upgraded to 10.9.2. Ever since then I've been unable to name any newly created folders or change the names of any existing ones. I am logged in as the administrator.

Does not work for me. Here's what happens; I select the folder. It has two modes: untitled folder" appears in black lettering on grey, or white lettering on deep blue. No editing cursor appears. There is no menu item for renaming from any of the pull down menu bars or in any popup menu.
I've also done a Get Info on the folder. Unlocked the padlock and still there is no editing of the name possible.
I have read and write permission.
There's one exception to all this. I can create a brand new folder and name it to whatever I want. But once I deselect that folder it becomes like all the others, uneditable.
    Very strange and very concerning.

  • Wi-Fi disabled after 10.10.1 update

Yesterday, I updated My OS X Yosemite to 10.10.1.  After required re-boot, I can no longer connect to my Wi-fi network, although it is clearly visible to my MacBook pro.  I do not want to give $30 to Apple to solve THEIR problem!

You don't have to look very far on the forum to see that we are getting quite a number of Yosemite related problems.
One of the most perplexing is a "naming" bug that has affected a number of users.  To see if you might be one of them......open System Preferences (gear icon on the dock) and open Sharing.
Check to see if the name of your computer is displayed correctly.  If you see a (2), (3), (4), etc after the name of your Mac, edit it to correct the name. Then, you should check this setting at least daily to see if the correct name will hold, or whether you must continue to edit the name.
Hopefully, you are not affected by the issue above.
You may also possibly have a corrupted keychain due to settings that were not correctly transferred during the Yosemite installation
Open Finder > Applications > Utilities > KeyChain Access.  Click the KeyChain Access menu in the upper left corner of the screen next to the Apple icon, then click KeyChain First Aid and follow the prompts
Otherwise, If you are using an Apple router, I would try changing the name of the wireless network and the password using AirPort Utility as a test to see if that helps. If still no help and you have an Apple router, I would reset it back to factory default settings and set it up again, this time with new names for the base station, wireless network and password.

  • Allow normal user to run "ip link set"

    Hi,
every time I power on my wireless lan device by hardware switch I have to execute
    ip link set wlan0 up
as root in order to use it. There's a bash script which is triggered with normal user rights by the switch.
I'm member of the network group, but I can't use the bash script to run ip automatically:
    [drake@laptop ~]$ ip link set wlan0 up
    RTNETLINK answers: Operation not permitted
Is there a way to allow my account to set up wlan0?
    Thanks!
    Drake

    Good afternoon.
I believe we have a RFE for this issue our datebase. Namely:
Bug 18202: Allow to specify params in reports but prevent saving changes
If I may, I recommend that you open a support case and ask the responsible engineer to add your company's information to the RFE (once it's confirmed that the 2 issues are indeed the same). Doing so will increase the chances of this functionality being added to the product in a future release.
    Regards,
    Alex

  • Apply custom name not working correctly

Wow... I am beginning to lose hope, again, that FCPX will ever be relatively bug free.
When applying custom clip names in 10.1, the software is very buggy and gets some things flat wrong.  For example, if you create a custom clip name with a counter, and you apply that to a set of clips, it doesn't show that change in the even browser unless you hit apply twice.  Then you see what you expect, but as soon as you click in the browser, the names change to a counter collection that starts counting with the lowest number in the new sequence starting at  the next number in the sequence from the original set. Hard to explain, but if you have 5 clips, and you start from 1, then on first click there is no change to the clip names, on second click you get a sequence starting from 1 and ending at 5 (what you want), but when you click on the event browser the clip names change from 1 - 5 to 6 - 10, presumably because you had to hit the button twice in the first place.   That's rediculous.
Also, applying orginal camera name doesn't work correctly for all clips.
Also, saving new custom names with names (changing from "untitled" to a name like "outside sequence #") works intermitently.
This reminds me of the old custom naming bugs in 10.03 - .06.    Come on, Apple.  Does anyone test this stuff before it's released?

Correct.  But the behavior I describe is correct too.  And one people should be aware of as they are likely to encounter this if they don't do as you described, click off the clips, but instead hit the apply custom name button more than once.  Buggy

  • FDM integration script for multiple locations

    Hi,
I have a slight problem with FDM integration script (SQL integration).
From what I've understood and tested within one FDM-application (tablespace) I'm not able to have multiple integration scripts. This because the integration script needs to be named SQLIntegration.uss, otherwise there will be an error.
I have multiple locations within one FDM-application where I would like to use an integration script. Due to the above mentioned naming "bug", I need to include all my locations' integration information in one script. As imagined this is not a solution that easy to maintain or easy to read.
    - Is there a workaround for the name-bug?
    - Can I call a function within the main function? I tried without any success, but maybe you would have a solution.
    Any input would be beneficial

    user10757003 wrote:
Not sure what you mean when you say you rename the file and you get the error.
Is this a new integration script you have created and cut / pasted the existing integration script contents? If so, did you remember to change the SQLINTEGRATION = TRUE statement at the end of the script to the new integration script name? this might be the reason why you get the 'Import Successful' popup and the Import error dropdown. What I mean is that scripts are name xxx.uss abc.uss. This should be fairly clear.
Now I have the SQLIntegration.uss, if I change the name of the script to SQLIntegration1.uss or any name. The script will not work. And I receive one error and one success message as stated above.
Note: I'm not changing the content or anything else inside the script.

  • Unable to unshare a share point due to forced drive (volume) name change.

I just upgraded a single CPU G4 Xserve from 10.3.9 to 10.5.2. I have run into a bug that I found discussed in another thread here; the bug that two drives on the server cannot have very similar names or it leads to the File Sharing pane in Server admin being unable to access and control the permissions of that drive. I had two drives, Poseidon I (boot drive) and in the second slot, Poseidon II. I have a sharepoint called Prepressfiles inside Poseidon II. After the upgrade I could not access the volumes permissions due to the aforementioned bug (the thread I just responded to should come up right under this posting). Well, once I changed the name (to PPFiles) I could then access the volume as well as being able to rehare the sharepoint, however it automatically renamed it Prepressfiles (1) which means I would have to go and change a lot of things elsewhere, obviously. Well, I can't delete the old sharepoint which is why the new one has the (1) in the name added automatically, because that volume doesn't exist anymore, and if I change the name back, I can't deleted the sharepoint either because of the naming bug!!!
How can I manually delete this sharepoint from the Server Admin, as that seems the only way I can at this point. I need to be able to rename the drive as I did and then reshare the sharepoint as plain old 'Prepressfiles'.
    MANY THANKS!!!!

    Hi Abiebelcap,
Based on your description, my understanding is that you have configured a new URL for the newly created web application in Configure alternate access mapping in Central Administration.
If that is the case, please make sure that the two things below have been done:
    1.  Make sure that the host header used in the new URL have been added in the DNS server and it points to the IP address of the server where the web application runs.
For example, I used the host header called test:
    2. Make sure that binding for the new URL is added to the web application in Internet Information Services(IIS).
Open IIS, right click the site of the newly created web application and select Edit bindings.
After that, you can access the site collections inside the new web application from the new URL.
