Naming Standard - Object Types

Is there a way to extend the options under 'Naming Standard:' to include object types? As well as object type attributes, attributes that are created when a REF link is created or when an attribute's datatype is another object type. I would like to change the template format that is used when the default names are used when creating these items.
Thanks,
ScottK

Hi Scott,

  • SRM 7.0 Advanced Search Object Type

    Dear All,
    We use SRM 7.0, I want to remove some object types from Advanced Search options in Portal. For example, in standard advanced search, you can select shopping card, confirmation, purchase order, contract... etc. And i dont want some emplyees to see all purchase order or contracts.
    How am i going to delete for example purchase order option from advanced search ?
    Best regards,

    Hi
    Advanced search drop down menu is based on SPRO configuration
    SRM server -- Cross application basic settings -- POWL and Adv search
    Here Standard object types will be defined as SAP entries under define objects types for advanced search.
    Also, default application will be assigned for each object types.
    If you deleted any of these standard object types, then that object type will not be available in advanced search for any SRM roles. However, that is not advisable to deleted standard objects.
    Alternatively, if you want restrict certain group of users to access the some object types, you can control through the configuration powl_queryR which is query visibility at role level.
    You can control the the same at user level if you want through powl_queryU

  • Cheat Sheet/Listing of Object types and transactions they are available in?

    Does anyone know how to obtain a listing of the standard object types and where they would be available?
    We have already worked with the Travel Management Trip Docuemnts and I know that object type BUS2089 is available through the Object for Services area of transaction PR05.  So we store entries in the TOA01 table for this object and they are available to us in the object services section.
    But now we want to leverage the functionality we built and extend it to other areas.  But I spent a lot of time today trying to find out what object could be used through transaction IE03 for an equipment record and finally found EQUI.  Now I just have to test it out.
    I see a lot of standard document types available as well and don't know what they are for - for Plant Maintenance work order notifications object type BUS2038 is there with PMONOTFPAP, PMIDAMAGE and PMIREQUEST already available.  I didn't want to create a new one if these are available for work order notification images, etc.
    It would be nice if there was a spreadsheet or listing that detailed each object type and where it was used in the system.
    (I did try searching but didn't find this question/answer on a broad basis.)

    Tarun,
    Thanks for replying.  I think that we are agreeing on the same details, but it doesn't really answer my question.
    I guess what I am looking for is if I asked the following question:
         What object type is used when populating the object services link from within an equipment record via IE03?
    How would you obtain the answer to this question - besides just knowing it?
    It's the same way that I know the following:
         What object type is used when populating the object services link from within a trip via PR05?  --> BUS2089
         What object type is used when populating the object services link from within a work order via IW33?  --> BUS2007
         What object type is used when populating the object services link from within a wo notification via IW23?  --> BUS2038
    The last two were easy because it prompts you when creating an attachment.  The first one someone told me the answer to.
    We will be doing image links for many different documents (invoices, journal entries, HR employee records, etc) and I'm just trying to figure out how to know which objects to use.  Once I know the object I know how to configure the OAC* tables for use.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • Event of delegeted Object  type not showing up  in event trace

    Hi,
    Please forgive me if this question has already been posted, I created a subtype for the object BUS2032 as ZSALESDOC and delegated the later the to the standard object type BUS2032 , but when i create a sales order it is not showing up in the event trace (TCODE : SWEL), only standard object type BUS2032 is showing up, and the ZSALESDOC object type's CREATED event is not showing up, Please i need inputs on any other thing i am missing out for delegating this object.
    Regards
    Narendiran Rathinavelu

    Hi
    check whether you have done the following after delegation:
    Event creation in status management(BSVW)
    Press Customer settings
    New entries
    enter status(VBK) - Your copied object type ZSALESDOC
    Status Restrictions
    I00002 (syst Status) ..REL   (released)..SAVE and see once again
    Reward points if useful

  • The main purpose of table T778T - Infotypes per object type

    What is the  main purpose of T778T - Infotypes per object type.
    How does it differ from other subdialogs/tables in T778V?
    Points will be awarded.
    Thanks
    Olekan Babatonde

    T778T -you can change the attributes of an infotype
    You can make the following settings:
    You can change the infotype names.
    You can assign infotypes to standard object types or to customer- specific object types.
    You can define another time constraint for an infotype.
    T778V -In this step, you make the settings that are required for creating relationships.
    You can make the following settings:
    You can create new relationships.
    You can control the response of the system (error messages, warnings, information) if the 100% mark is exceeded in the case of "weighted" relationships.
    You can show or hide the weighting percentage of a relationship and, if required, define additional data for a relationship. You can specify, for example, in the view 'Additional relationship info' whether the recursiveness
    You can define the object types that are allowed for each relationship and inverse relationship.
    You can set up external relationships.
    External relationships are relationships between external object types i.e. object types that are not stored in the PLOG database in Personnel Development and Planning. (See also the step "Maintain object types").
    You can enter a time constraint for each relationship.
    You can change the "alias" name (semantic abbreviation) of a relationship.

  • Organizational Object Types

    Is it possible to create customer defined organizational object types in CRM 2007 like you can in ECC or are you limited to object types org unit, position, holder?    I'd like to create an object type to hang cost objects on the org structure to use with an eval path for reporting.  I noticed that there are a number of standard object types delivered beyond org unit, position and holder.  I don't, though, see a config path for creating/copying new customer defined object types.   Being new to CRM, I'm probably just missing something.
    Also, if we replicate our FI/HR (which are the same ...) org structure in CRM, can we choose the object types that we bring over in addition to org unit, position, holder?
    Thanks for any help!
    Bill

    Thanks, Vikash - that's what I feared, but was wondering why they bothered to include all the other standard object types like cost center (k) and the workflow ones if there was no way to use them ...    That's too bad as they're limiting some very powerful functionality if that's the case.
    Krishna - we're actually implementing something new with CRM - for fund raising activities in an academic setting (but it could be applied to other non/not for profit fund raising activities as well).    Basically just trying to leverage some ECC customer defined hierarchy object types we have for mapping cost centers/wbs elements to org units ...
    Thanks to you both for responding!

  • Naming standards for reports in Business Objects?

    Dear colleagues,
    I am about to start development of universes, queries and reports in Business Object for a client. Does anyone of you have any tips on naming standards for the reports? The source system that the dataware house is based on is a fund system. Often the name can be some letters and some numbers. Is there any logic behind this that I can follow?
    I will sign points!
    Kind regards
    Silje

    Hi Silje,
    Naming convetions should really tie in with your own processes. So it hard to say there is one for all.
    I generally create a report library. This is a simple list in Excel of the reports. It will contain the following
    Report Id: A number that is unique to each report, e.g. 1000
    Report Name: A short descriptive name, Monthly_Returns
    Report Location: The folder path to the report
    Report Description: A full descriptive name
    Report Contact: The person to contact about the report, developer or support person
    Report Owner: Business Owner of the report
    In WebI I would then call the report 1000_Monthly_Returns. I generally use the folder name to point to the area, so in the case of funds this report would be in the Funds folder.
    Hope this helps

  • Oracle Object Naming Standards/Conventions

    I did a search on the Inet regarding recommended object (table, column, keys, ..., audit columns) naming conventions. I found different approaches, but I would like to know if there's a document with the naming conventions Oracle recommends/is using?
    Thanks.

    I have visited http://www.dba-oracle.com/standards_schema_object_names.htm
    Oracle column naming Standards
    Column Naming Standards
    Column names should be spelled out whenever possible.
    If a column name should exceed 30 characters, reduce the size of the column name in this order:
    From the left of the column name, remove vowels from each word in the table name except for the first vowel of each word.
    If the column name is still greater than 30 characters, use standardized shorthand indicators. Record this standard for consistent use.
    I agree with the author that column names should be spelled out whenever possible. Some Oracle official database examples use abbreviations for column names but
    I would prefer to user long Column Name that spells out the actual name.
    For example, in Scott/tiger sample database, for EMP table, it is better to spell out the full name of column name so that UI design could be easier for the programmers.
    EMPNO Employee_No
    ENAME Employee_Name
    JOB Job
    MGR Manager_Employee_No
    HIREDATE Hire_Date
    SAL Salary
    COMM Commision
    DEPTNO Departmen_No
    Since Forms Builder 10g and JDeveloper ADF can generate forms/applications using wizards, using a full column name will be better than an abbreviation, as the prompt for Item is automatically converted by Forms,
    e.g. The prompt for Customer_Number becomes "Customer Number"
    If you use abbreviation in column names, you need to change the prompts of generated forms manually.

  • TS - Standard Task object type

    Hi Gurus,
    I am trying to assign the  object type TS - Standard task for the tcode - PO13 (position), but i am getting the error as Standard task does not exist (ID of related object field).  I have searched in R/3 to create TS - Standard task, but not available.  Please suggest me where to be done.
    Vijay.

    Standard Task mainly used by Tech consultants in Workflows.
    Inputs from SAP doc......
    The standard tasks provided by SAP are generally used as steps in a workflow template. They are available as "modules" which you can use for your own developments.
    If a workflow scenario only involves one standard task, it can usually be regarded as a minimal solution for showing the connection between application functionality and SAP Business Workflow. For differentiated workflow management, this standard task should be replaced by a customer-specific workflow task

  • Partitioned IOT of Object Type - mapping table not allowed for bitmap index

    Hi,
    looks like a feature available for standard Partitioned IOTs is not supported for object based tables, namely the MAPPING TABLE construct to support secondary local bitmap indexes.
    Can you confirm behaviour is as expected/documented?
    If so, is a fix/enhancement to support mapping table for object-based Partitioned IOTs in the pipeline?
    Results for partition-wise load using pipelined table function are very good, look-ups across tens of millions of rows are excellent.
    Environment = Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - Production

    DEF456     500

    Thanks Dan,
    the intention is to range partition based on the initial character, so A* -> Text_Part_A, B* -> Text_Part_B, and so on.
    Here's an example, using an empty IOTObj_Table as created previously.
    1) Set up & confirm some test data (two 'D's, one 'N', and two 'Z's)
    SQL> INSERT INTO IOTObj_Table VALUES (IOT_Type('DEF456',500));
    SQL> INSERT INTO IOTObj_Table VALUES (IOT_Type('DDD111',510));
    SQL> INSERT INTO IOTObj_Table VALUES (IOT_Type('N3000',515));
    SQL> INSERT INTO IOTObj_Table VALUES (IOT_Type('ZZ1212',520));
    SQL> INSERT INTO IOTObj_Table VALUES (IOT_Type('Z111X',530));
    SQL> COMMIT;
    SQL> SELECT * FROM IOTObj_Table;
    TEXTDATA NUMBERDATA
    DDD111     510
    DEF456     500
    N3000     515
    Z111X     530
    ZZ1212     520
    2) Just to prove our IOT is enforcing the Primary Key based on the TextData attribute, try to insert a duplicate
    SQL> INSERT INTO IOTObj_Table VALUES (IOT_Type('Z111X',530));
    Error starting at line 141 in command:
    INSERT INTO IOTObj_Table VALUES (IOT_Type('Z111X',530))
    Error report:
    SQL Error: ORA-00001: unique constraint (OCDataSystems.SYS_IOT_TOP_84235) violated
    00001. 00000 - "unique constraint (%s.%s) violated"
    *Cause:    An UPDATE or INSERT statement attempted to insert a duplicate key.
    For Trusted Oracle configured in DBMS MAC mode, you may see
    this message if a duplicate entry exists at a different level.
    *Action:   Either remove the unique restriction or do not insert the key.
    3) Now confirm that our data has been slotted into the range-based partition we expect using the PARTITION clause of SELECT...
    - The two 'D's...
    SQL> SELECT * FROM IOTObj_Table PARTITION (Text_Part_D);
    TEXTDATA NUMBERDATA
    DDD111     510
    DEF456     500
    - The single 'N'...
    SQL> SELECT * FROM IOTObj_Table PARTITION (Text_Part_N);
    TEXTDATA NUMBERDATA
    N3000     515
    - The two 'Z's...
    SQL> SELECT * FROM IOTObj_Table PARTITION (Text_Part_Z);
    TEXTDATA NUMBERDATA
    Z111X     530
    ZZ1212     520
    4) And to wrap up confirm an empty partition
    SELECT * FROM IOTObj_Table PARTITION (Text_Part_W);

  • Naming Standards: What are you using?

    I'd like to hear what different organizations are using for naming standards to manage their XI environment.
    When you have a new interface or need to call up an existing interface, how do you know where to find them?
    Do you break out your interfaces by Sender SC, XI SC and receiver SC?
    How do you organize namespaces?

    Hi Mark,
        Well, The name space itself it means that it used for unique identifier.Normally in realtime business cases lot  of process would be involved..when you are developing the interface and when you start up with namespace..The name space should give you the what exactly the scenario..for which type of scenarios..
      Let me take an example suppose if u are implementing the all sales order scenario you can probably implement a name space such that it should reflect the all sales order related objects.
      <b>Ex: http://xyzcompany.com./salesorders</b>
      The above namespace tell you that the vendor is xyzcompany and the corresponding objects of slaes orders.
    Hope I am clear.

  • Object type error while creating ECR

    Hi All
    When creating  a Engineering change request ECR (T.code: CC31), after entering the change type, selecting the object type(document & material) when i try to save the ECR, i am getting the following error message "is not a valid object type for a task". The error message didnt show in which object type the error is coming, its simply showing the above mentioned message. Could anybody help me in fixing the problem?.
    Regards
    S.Sivakumar

    Hi,
    To grant that allways the currenct screens and authorizations were
    called please maintain also the value "1" into the "Authorization"
    column. For further informations on this maintainance please see the
    attached note 375452. It's important that you not enter the mentioned
    screen number wihtout the leading "1" as this number is added
    automatically by the system (e.g. object MARA 1201 maintain like MARA
    201). You can do this in customizing under:
    Transaction SPRO
    > Cross-Application-Component
        > Document Management
             > Control Data
                 > Define screen for object links
    If you need the dynpro number or object you will find all standard SAP
    objects and their screen number in function module CV130 (Screens) by
    transaction SE80. Please maintain all necessary SAP objects.
    Best regards,
    Christoph

  • Assign value to Object type variable

    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE emp AS OBJECT (
    empid NUMBER,
    age NUMBER,
    dob date);
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE emp _tab AS TABLE OF emp;
    Pls hlep me assign value to the object type variable in loop..(assume there is 5 10 records in emp table)
    declare
    v_emp_tt emp _tab ;
    begin
    for i in (select empid ,age ,dob from emp ) Loop
    v_emp_tt := i.empid; --this is wrong pls help me correct it.
    end loop;
    end;
    thanks,

    I would keep the type/object naming convention distinct from the table name.
    In terms of assignment:
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE to_emp AS OBJECT
    (empid NUMBER,
    age NUMBER,
    dob date);
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE tt_emp AS TABLE OF emp;
    declare
    v_emp tt_emp;
    begin
    select to_emp_obj(emp_id, age, dob)
    bulk collect into v_emp
    from emp;
    end;
