NaN/PathRefnum? function producing useless answers for Path, Refnum

I have found similar threads to this, but not quite the same, AFAICT.
I'm trying simply to see if an INI file exists, so I created the following snippet:
I also created a small file, put it in my C:\ directory, which I have attached here.
When I run the LV program with C:\test.ini, my indicators come out as NaN/Path?: False, NaN/Refnum?: True
which I tried to interpret as (1) a valid path (file exists) and (2) a nonexisting refnum (although the refnum came from an LV-supplied subVI).
I then changed the control (file to find) to C:\test.in (lopped off final "i") and the two indicators gave me the same results. That blew away my first interpretation, and I can't come up with anything else which makes sense.
So, for paths and refnums, what is going on here, if anything?
I did see that the second test threw an error from the "Open Config Data" subVI, so I can use that for my test, but I'd like to know if the NaN... function is actually good for anything but numbers. If not, IMHO LV should change its designation on the palette.

Thanks, Nathand,
That clears it up a lot (and then digging down into the layers below the "Open Config Data" VI brings back the opacity). That's just one of the things which has confused me about the Config File VIs subpalette, but the explanation and the fact that you have to use a special "Not a Config Data Refnum.vi" with these instead of the normal "NaN/Path/Refnum?" (I never saw it until you pointed it out) answers several of the other questions, too. Like I said at first, in this case I just wanted to see if the file was there, so there are alternatives. But when I need to do more than what the prepackaged VIs do (which I expect I will), then it's just a matter of digging down in with my hip boots on. (Yuck.) But it's all fun, or I wouldn't be doing it in the first place.

  • PATH and UNDER_path functions in ORACLE 11gR2 for Windows.

I am now getting the error -01405 when I use the function and predicate PATH UNDER_PATH path_string use the parameter function. If instead you use a literal value everything works fine. I found that if I delete from the list select the same path expression works well. example:
    SELECT PATH(1), e.xmldata.dispname FROM xdb.xdb$resource e
    WHERE UNDER_PATH(VALUE(e),funcionRetornaUnPath,1) = 1
    !!!!Error ora - 01405
    SELECT PATH(1), e.xmldata.dispname FROM xdb.xdb$resource e
    WHERE UNDER_PATH(VALUE(e),'/pathxxxx',1) = 1
    !!!! OK.
    SELECT e.xmldata.dispname FROM xdb.xdb$resource e
    WHERE UNDER_PATH(VALUE(e),funcionRetornaUnPath,1) = 1
    !!! Ok.

    Hi,
First of all, you shouldn't be using XDB$RESOURCE directly but RESOURCE_VIEW or PATH_VIEW instead.
It doesn't solve the problem entirely but there's no error if we declare the function DETERMINISTIC.
However the PATH function returns NULL :
SQL> create or replace function fnc_test return varchar2
      2  deterministic
      3  is
      4  begin
      5   return '/public';
      6  end;
      7  /
    Function created
    SQL> select path(1), v.any_path
      2  from resource_view v
      3  where under_path(v.res, fnc_test(), 1) = 1
      4  ;
    PATH(1)               ANY_PATH
                          /public/dump
Could you post again in the {forum:id=34} forum?
    Thanks.

  • View or function to return the full path hierarchy of an organization

    Hi,
The customer is asking to provide a report showing for each assignment of each employees the corresponding organization where it is assigned and the full path of the organization hierarchy.
The organization hierarchy is at most 6 level deep, so they want to produce the report with the columns:
    root_organization | org_level1 | org_level2 | org_level3 | org_level4 | org_level5 | org_level6 | person_name | assignment_date
if the person is assigned in an organization lower than the 6th level, the remainin columns should be empty.
I see that the view HRFG_ORGANIZATION_HIERARCHIES returns only one step in the organizations hierarchy: Parent_organization_name, Child_organization_name.
Is there any view or function as well which returns the full path of an organization in the hierarchy? At least a function which returns the full path parents of the organization delimited by commas.
    Thank you

    Hi,
Yes, I wrote a custom code but is running a bit slowly for around 1000 organizations and more than 15 version of hierarcy (so 15000 rows of this view). I wanted to know if there is any optimized code provided by Oracle.
    Thank you.

    BADI
    1) Is that all the Predefined BADI's present  in SAP are reusable ?

    Data Dictionary :
    1) Diff between Append Structure and Include Structure ?
Append Structure - This structure can be used only one time to append. Append structures are useful for standard tables.
Include Structure - This structure can be used in multiple tables. Include structures are useful for our own custom tables.
    2) What is Table Type ?
A table type is a type that describes the structure and functions of an internal table in the ABAP program. In simple words table table will act as an internal table without header line.
    3) How the table entries are going to store, Is it Case sensitive, or in Capital Letter or in Small letter or as we give ?
    Yes it is case sensitive.
Use translate statement to convert Upper case or Lower case.
    4) How many indexes we can give for a table ?
1 primary index automatically created and we can create up to 15 secondary indexes.
    Reports :
    1) How can we enable the verticle scroll in a table control that comes in 2 nd screen of ME 21 T.code ?
set <tablecontrol>-lines = 0.this code you have to put in one suitable userexit.then it applies to standard tcode ME21N.
    2) What is BSEG table ?
BSEG table is a FI table for Accounting Document details.
    3) How can you create Table Control ?
controls : tabcont type tableview using screen '3000'.
    PROCESS AFTER INPUT
    MODULE mod AT EXIT-COMMAND.
LOOP AT itab_table or LOOP "depending on whether we are using AT int_table
    MODULE modify_int_table.
    ENDLOOP.
    MODULE user_command.
    4) Diff between At Selection Screen on Field & At selection Screen Output ?
    AT-SELECTION SCREEN ON FIELD
is to validate a particular selection screen field.
if any error comes it will open only this field and other fields will be disabled.
    AT-SELECTION SCREEN OUTPUT
is used to do dynamic screen modifications on the screen.
    5) What are things we need to take care before using the Read Statement ?Example of Read Statement with Index ?
do sort before read data from table.
    6) How many ways are there to select a Particular Data from the table ?
using views or directly u can select data.
    7) I want fetch the 10 th row and 5 th column from the list, How will you do it ?
    sorry...
    BDC :
    1) If we write Transaction Statement 2 times for a application What happens ?
i think u got message like already that transaction was called like this..
    2) If for Example , I had to upload 10 items for one header. The 5 items are uploaded, but the Sixth record is not uploaded ? How can you upload that data from 6 th Record ?
within the loop u have to write the code for the 6th record and then process again.
    3) Tell me the Detail Steps in uploading the Data from Application Server ?
use DATASETS for uploading data from application server.
    4) One Scenario, i am having 10 records in a file & when i am uploading the data everytime the 1st record is overlapping with already existing data, How you are going to handle this ?
    write CLEAR statement before endloop.
    5) What is meant by MASK in Upload function ?
    sorry...
    6) what are the parameters you will pass withine BDC_INSERT ?
    TCODE-import parameter
    DYNPROTAB-tables parameter
    SAP- Script :
    1) I want to display quantity & Price based on Particular Language and Country in SAP Script , How we can do that ?
One particular statement is there for that, What is that ?
Actually u will get quantity and price based on language using SE63 transaction.it is used for language conversion.
    2) The Logo Upaloaded got Inverted , then How you are going to handle this situation ?
just check the printer settings again.
    3) The logo uploaded using RSTXLDMC programe, Where it is going to store ?
STXBITMAPS is the table which stores all the logos.
    4) can we see Tiff files in SE 78 T.code ? What are the file extension of Logo we can upload to SAP
No we cannot upload .tiff files using SE78 ..here u can upload only bmp and jpg logos...if u want to upload .tiff files go to standard program RSTXLDMC..by using this you can do.
    5) How to check the changes made in the standard layout set , other than using Utilities--- -> Print preveiw ?
    by executing the formprogram.
    User Exit :
    1) Suppose i have used a fuction Module Exit, But is in Inactive status , What is The error it is going to give during runtime ?
u didn't get any error message but that functionality cannot applied to it..thats it.
    2) Suppose i want to delete the Function Module exit from one project and i want to use it for another project ? what are steps you follow to delete it ?
first go to that perticular project..within this u have one enhancement..just click on that one...and go to that function module which u are assigned..remove the code and activate..delete enhancement and activate that project..now u can use that enhancement in other projects.
    BADI
    1) Is that all the Predefined BADI's present in SAP are reusable ?
here reusable means u can do multiple implementations for all BADI's.
    Rewards if it helpful.
    Dara.

    Dear Raj,
you  can go through the following questions and answers which will help you.
How can a planning version be frozen and unfrozen?
A Planning Version can be frozen and unfrozen using Function Module /SAPAPO/TS_PAREA_VERSIO_FREEZE so that no further changes to the planning version can be done.
    What is Release Profile?
Release Profile is used to release timeseries data from DP to SNP/PPDS. You need to define the DP Planning Area and timeseries keyfigure the data in which is released and the SNP Category Type (typically FA) to which data is released. You may maintain a Daily Buckets Profile it will define the number of working days (working days determined based on Shipping Calendar maintained for the location master) starting on and from the From Date if released online/ interactively or that many workdays of the planning horizon when release is carried out in background. The Period Split (blank, 1 and 2) field in the SNP2 tab of location-product master determines how demand plan is released to SNP from DP (how bucketed data is disaggregated to the workdays).
What is the usage of Period Factor?
Period Factor maintained in the SNP PPM or Transportation Lane determines the Availability Date of a Receipt element within a time bucket (period). The system determines the exact availability date/time of the receipt elements within a period, by adding a time interval (that it gets by multiplying the period factor with the period length) to the start time of the period. You can enter a factor between 0 and 1, where 0 is the start of the period, 0.5 the middle, and 1 the end of the period. When calculating the availability date/time, the system takes into consideration all weekdays, meaning that it does not take into consideration any days that have been defined as non-workdays in the calendars.
Period Factor used is .71 = 7x0.71 = 4.97 or 5 days from ptimizer of weekly bucket resulting in a Friday.
If Period Factor is not maintained in PPM or Transportation Lane then the User Period Factor indicator and the Period Factor value maintained in the Lot Size tab of the location-product combination is used. If this is not maintained a default value of 0.5 is used.
What determines stock categories displayed in Stock on Hand keyfigure?
The categories defined in Category Group ST1 (can be maintained in table /SAPAPO/APOCGC) determine the stock categories that are displayed in the Initial bucket in the Stock on Hand keyfigure. Subsequent buckets are dynamically computed.
Does dynamic alerts show up in Alert Monitor?
Dynamic Alerts do not show up in the stand-alone alert monitor. Network alerts are to show pegging relationships.
What is the report to execute MASSD?
The report for executing MassD in background job is MASSBACK.
What is the shortcut to change location type in APO?
Report /SAPAPO/CHECK_LOCATION_TYPE can be used to change location type (say from 1001 to 1002 or vice-versa) of existing locations in APO. The table to refer is /SAPAPO/LOCMAP. SAP does not recommend this process.
How can a transaction be executed even when no authorization?
SE93 - Transaction code for Transaction Code E.g. CRC1 Create Resource has txn code CRAH. So if you do not have authorization to create resource you can use SE93 and enter txn CRAH and then Test F8 button to go to the txn.
How to copy a Process Chain?
To copy a process chain to another process chain, goto the Process Chain you want to copy and then type copy in the tool tar and hit enter. It will allow you to copy the Process Chain to another Process Chain that can be modified as per user's requirement, saved, activated and used.
What is the process to copy planning versions in R/3?
Use OLIX to first delete previous MRP planning versions. Then use MCB& to create the new MRP planning versions by choosing the appropriate version you want to create as ICO Version. The info structure in this case is S094.
How to use create planning book with two tables?
To use two tables on one screen of Planning Book/Data View - select indicator next to second page title and give name. Additional tab page is displayed in Planning Book Maintenance wizard to define the keyfigures for the second table.
What is Master Data in DP?
Master Data in Demand Planning primarily is Charcateristic Value Combinations commonly termed CVCs. CVCs are the planning combinations against which data is stored in keyfigures.
What is the behaviour of Procurement Type X?
Procurement Type X - source selection is based on matching due date then priority then cost. If both In-house Production and External Procuremnet is possible then In-house Production (PPM) is chosen as source of supply.
    What is PPDS Fixing Horizon?
PP/DS fixing Horizon defines the PP/DS time Fence - within that period if heuristic is run no orders get changed.
What is the reuse mode in Product Heuristic?
Reuse mode in Product Heuristic - makes the system to reuse orders already present in the heuristic run i.e. orders are not deleted and recreated.
    What is Planning Procedure?
Planning Procedure in Product Master (PP/DS) defines that when you convert a planned order to process order it is in Deallocated state and not Scheduled state and more.

  • Using FILTER function in oracle answers

    Gurus,
I have a question related to using Filter function in oracle answers.
When trying to insert a Filter (expr) Using (expr) clause in the formula area of a fact table field, It errored out with msg saying about using a wrong measure.
I know this can be done with a case expression but I tried filter clause since this is available in oracle answers.
Please help me figuring out this scenario.
    Thanks.

David / Raghu - Thanks for u'r replies and apologizes for not posting question with proper material.
Am posting my code and the error message from the screen.
    Code :
    IFNULL(FILTER("Fact - MBS Loan Transactions"."OUTSTANDING PRINCIPAL" USING "Dim - MBS Loan"."LOAN TYPE HPD/HDC/BNK" = 'HDC'),0)
    Error :
nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 22032] Function FILTER requires at least one measure attribute in its first argument. (HY000)
SQL Issued: SELECT "Dim - MBS Loan"."LOAN AMOUNT", "Dim - MBS Loan"."LOAN TYPE HPD/HDC/BNK", "Dim - MBS Loan"."LOAN TYPE SEN/SUB", "Dim - MBS Project"."PROJECT NAME", "Dim - MBS Project"."PROJECT NUMBER", "Fact - MBS Loan Transactions"."AR BALANCE INTEREST", "Fact - MBS Loan Transactions"."GL BALANCE INTEREST", IFNULL(FILTER("Fact - MBS Loan Transactions"."OUTSTANDING PRINCIPAL" USING "Dim - MBS Loan"."LOAN TYPE HPD/HDC/BNK" = 'HDC'),0) FROM "Financials - MBS"
    OK (Ignore Error)
Please continue answering my queries. Since am a newbie your answers won't be just a reply but it's actually learning for me.
    Thanks.

  • Time series functions are not working for fragmented logical table sources?

If i remove that fragmented logical table sources, then its working fine.
if any body know the reason, please let me know.
    thanks and regards,
    krishna

    Hi,
is because the time series function are not supported for the framentation content, see the content of the oracle support:
The error occurs due to the fact the fragmented data sources are used on some Time series measures. Time series measures (i.e. AGO) are not supported on fragmented data sources.
Confirmation is documented in the following guide - Creating and Administering the Business Model and Mapping Layer in an Oracle BI Repository > Process of Creating and Administering Dimensions
Ago or ToDate functionality is not supported on fragmented logical table sources. For more information, refer to “About Time Series Conversion Functions” on page 197.

  • [svn] 2312: CursorManager: New functionality and a fix for SDK-15029

    Revision: 2312
    Author: [email protected]
    Date: 2008-06-30 17:24:01 -0700 (Mon, 30 Jun 2008)
    Log Message:
CursorManager: New functionality and a fix for SDK-15029
    * NEW: When the mouse leaves a window/stage where a cursor is set, the cursor no longer sits on the edge of the screen until the mouse comes back into the window, it disappears.
    * NEW: In AIR, when the mouse leaves an active window and glides over an inactive window (without giving it focus) where a cursor is set, the system pointer will be hidden and the custom cursor will appear while gliding over that window, and disappear when you leave that window.
    * FIX: When a cursor is set in a child Window, and the mouse moves over another Window or WindowedApplication, the cursor no longer disappears -- the correct system pointer or custom cursor will display.
    * Fixed listener leaks when switching systemManagers (neither Jason nor I can tell when/why it would happen in CursorManager, however).
    Reviewer: Jason
    Bugs: SDK-15029
    Doc: No
QA: Yes, here's an exhaustive list of ideas:
    * We'll need tests for the new behaviors.
    * For all tests, we need to try behavior in air AND behavior in (sa)player, and test regressions.
    * Please test SDK-15583 again, all other cursor tests.
    * Take the test case for SDK-15029 and open up TWO MyWindows. Test how the cursors change across all three app windows when they are overlapped like a Venn diagram, with different combinations of custom cursors on and off -- we should have test cases for all of this behavior.
    * Test that custom cursors work properly when the mouse leaves a non-rectangular stage with transparency.
    * Test mouse drag situations -- drag off stage, release, move back to stage; drag off and back onto stage, etc.
    * In my tests, I found a lot of bad behavior in AIR, and player seemed to be fine. Do we have drag and drop use cases for AIR with custom cursors?
A list of some bugs I encountered:
    * BUG (cosmetic): If the mouse is outside the stage when a cursor changes for the first time (say you toggle a checkbox which sets the cursor using the keyboard), the cursor will appear on the stage in the last known mouse position. When the mouse returns to the stage, everything will start working correctly again.
    * BUG (cosmetic): In AIR, if you drag out, and back into the window, then release, a MOUSE_OUT is fired again over the stage, which is wrong. The mouse coords given are (-1,-1), also wrong. This causes the system cursor to show instead of the custom cursor.
    * BUG: In AIR: if you drag off the edge of a Window with a custom cursor, the cursor will vanish. The MOUSE_OUT event correctly event fires while dragging off the window. Even though the handler tells the system mouse cursor to appear, it doesn't -- might be an AIR issue, since the mouse is still dragging when told to show. If you move back over the active window without dragging, the cursor goes back to normal.
    * BUG: In AIR: if you drag over another window with a cursor, MOUSE_MOVE events don't fire on that other window until you let go. Therefore, a custom cursor in that window does not get drawn, nor does a system cursor. If you move back over the active window without dragging, the cursor goes back to normal.
    * BUG: In AIR: When dragging, off a window, Event.MOUSE_LEAVE only fires after the mouse is let go (unlike MOUSE_OUT), EVEN IF the mouse is dragged back over the window and released over the window. So you're told the mouse left when it didn't.
    * BUG: In Player: I could never get Event.MOUSE_LEAVE to fire when added to the stage in saplayer or browser.

    Thank you,
    Steve -

The error message appears to be related to a debug session and not come from the actual crash.
So all I know is that you hade a server crash. I don't even know exactly what that means. Did Windows bite the dust? Or was it only SQL Server?
Assuming the latter, I would expect the SQL Server errorlog to have some information (and that would be ERRORLOG.1 or earlier, since the server have been restarted), but if SQL Server died the output may be incomplete.
There may be also dump files, but as I rarely look into these, I am not sure how to interpret them. But I am quite confident that "Unable to verify TimeStamp..." is not the reason SQL Server went down.
I would suggest the following course:
    *  If the server is not critical, do nothing. As long as it has onlyl happened once, it has only happened once.
    *  If the server is critical, open a case with Microsoft if you are not able to figure out the reason yourself. The key here is "Unknown exception - code 000042ac".
    *  If it happens again, you should absolutely open a case. An important thing here is whether the stack dump is identical or something different. If the stack dumps are identical, you may have hit a bug in SQL Server or the OS, and applying CUs or OS
fixes could help if it is a known issue. If the stack dump is something else, you have ghosts in the machine - that is, bad hardware.
