Nano 6g goes very hot when recharging

Hello,
my ipod nano which I have received in the exchange program for the nano 1g didn't start anymore. Yesterday I had a 20k training run with the ipod properly working. This morning the ipod didn't start. So I tried to recharge the ipod (at USB of my Subnotebook) but the nano didn't restart and goes very hot soon after plugging in the USB-port. It reaches about 50C after 10 minutes !
What should I do ?

Have you tried charging it with another USB cable to see if that make any difference? Also check to make sure the docking port is clean and clear or any sort of debris or damage.

  • Please help: Nano frozen (very hot when recharging...)

    Hi,
it seems my almost brand new (used 4 times...) Nano 2GB has got some problems
When I'm recharging it (by Apple USB cable plugged into USB port on my WinXP Pro PC with last version of iTunes installed), it becomes really really hot on the back and the famous folder with exclamation comes out.
    - There's no charge icon or other icons...
    - Display is not lighting
    - Nano is not turned on (battery low and not recharging)
    - I tried to restore it pressing menu/play buttons for 10 seconds, the apple icon appeared but then I cannot turn the Nano on.
Should I try something else or do I need to bring it back to the shop? What scares me more is the back getting so hot that you cannot keep nano in your hands.
    Thanks,
    Massimo

I will bring the Nano back to the shop, hope they could help

  • My macbook pro gets very hot when running anything like games or videos

I just bought a macbook pro 2.3 GHZ i7 with retina display.  It gets very hot when running just about anything of substance.  When I run a game like candy crush, the temperature can get to 167 or more.  I installed istat menus and started monitoring it.  I did notice that the fans never went on but after istats I was able to make them come on.  Without having a game going, the temperatures hover around 100.  Once the game starts, it goes crazy.
I don't really know what the problem could be or if this is normal (it really can't be....This is way too hot).  I have owned the computer for about 2 months and I need to know what to do.

You are still under warranty.  Call Apple Care. Make sure you get a case number as all repairs have an additional 90 days of warranty.
#1 - You have 14 days from the date of purchase to return your computer with no questions asked.
#2 - You have 90 days of FREE phone tech support.
#3 - You have the standard one year Apple warranty.
#4 - If you've purchased an AppleCare Protection Plan, your warranty last for 3 years.   You can obtain AppleCare anytime up to the first year of the purchase of your computer.
Take FULL advantage of your warranty.  Posting on a message board should be done as a last resort and if you are out of warranty or Apple Care has expired.

  • In my macbook pro 15 inch mid 2012 model, my cpu and gpu will get very hot, when gaming or rendering sometimes over 200F. The fans only spin at max about 2900 rpm, when their max is 6400. I downloaded a fan control app, but how can i fix it?

    Hi rhaughan,
I see that you have concerns about your operating temperature of your computer while using resource-heavy applications such as gaming applications. I have an article that will address some of the concerns you have mentioned:
Mac notebooks: Operating temperature - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-is/HT201640
While there are third-party utilities that measure the temperature of a notebook computer, it is important to understand that these utilities are not measuring the external case temperature. The actual case temperature is much lower. Never use third-party applications to diagnose possible hardware issues—instead, contact Apple or go to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider.
You should also see this article for even further information about your fans:

  • My iPhone 5s with iOS 7.1 become very hot when charged almost reach 100% and will shut down itself.

My iPhone 5s with iOS 7.1 become very hot when charged almost reach 100 % and will shut down itself. Then I need to off the power and let it cool down first before I can on the phone back. Please help me to solve this problem. Thanks.

    Hi Limfromsi,
It is normal to an extent for the iPhone to get warm during charging. If your iPhone is currently in a case, you may want to try charging it without one and see if the issue occurs, as the design of the iPhone uses the exterior of the device as a cooling surface. For more information about iPhones and temperature, you may find the following article helpful:

If you continue to have issues with your iPhone in the default config (no case, using the included original cable and power adapter), you may want to have your phone evaluated for service. The following page may be of use:

    dovdov2,
are you saying that when you connect your MacBook Pro to a monitor, your Internet connection slows down, but when you disconnect the monitor, it speeds up again, and that this is reproducible from one day to another?
Does this happen both under OS X and under Windows 7, or only under one of them?
How are you currently connecting your MacBook Pro to your monitor?

  • HT3302 If iv cracked my glass can I still claim in the 1 year warranty as my phone is getting very hot when I call

Iv cracked my glass and only had my iphone5 for 4 days, it is also getting very hot when I call so can I still claim for a new phone if iv got a crack

For a manufacturing defect then yes.
If you drop your phone and broke the glass then no, you would have to buy an out of warranty iphone

  • Does 2012 mac mini get very hot when using logic pro

does 2012 mac mini get very hot when using logic pro

Are you saying that your machine does or is it an enquiry before buying ? I use a 2011 server model - well, it does get hot over a period of time, but I've very rarely heard the fan kick in, its a surprise when it does. As far as I know the casing has been specifically designed to conduct heat, rather than having any fancy grilles and so on, being so small in size. I haven't found it to be cause for concern, if that's any help.
